Guy called Martin Samuelsen, play's for west ham 19yrs old on loan at Peterhead last season attacking mid but could see the lad used up front as I think he's a great finisher and creator prob ain't going to happen but would love to see him at Ibrox that said got a feeling we'll see Harry Winks arrive and another spurs player dunno who but don't think it'll be Ball think he's off to Sunderland! Anyways eve though I rate Ball we really need a big solid experienced CB. Think an SPFL team are allowed 5 loans and Warbs usually takes 3 during this window to give him scope come Jan so my opinion is Winks and if not another Spurs player then I hope Isaiah is still on the cards as for a solid CB who knows but Warbs will have someone lined up, EPL teams need to be registered by Friday I think yeah.

I've got a bad feeling Kyle Lafferty will end up signing and it'll be a mix reaction. I think he would be a good player for us but what he's done is unforgivable, understandable why he done it but still unforgivable.

If Lafferty does sign he will score a lot of goals and all will be forgotten. He is a decent player, a fan and hopefully the daft boy days are behind him. I think he would be a great signing and doubt with our current financial situation we could get much better. Diff option from what we currently have.

Lafferty showed how hopeless he was at the European Championships when he ran about like a headless chicken and contributed nothing. I don't see him being any different in the SPL!

What is more, last time round he was nothing but trouble and I don't see him being any different. A leopard doesn't change its spots.

If he was anything other than a Northern Ireland Rangers supporter we would even be contemplating signing him!

Personally I have more faith in Warburton and McParland to find a decent striker rather than us take a punt on this guy!

I think he would do i job for us the way NI set up at the euros was 1 man up top (laff) with hardly any possesion and when they did get it they just humped it up the park for him to chase and flick on to himself. at rangers we play the exact opposite which i think would suit him.

Lafferty is a dog and shouldn't be allowed anywhere near Rangers you can't compare what he did to what Miller did. Lafferty deserted the club Miller was sold big difference.

difference between miller and lafferty miller was ten times the player lafferty ever will be and yes he went to selik and kissed their manky badge but a good player is a good player, lafferty on the other hand just runs a lot without the ball and look glakit on the ball never have rated him to be good enough for us and never will be good enough i don't think for a second the guy would come in and score any more than 12 goals a season not worth it.

don't look back unless its for a defender then we have some good options to go for.

If Ball on loan is the other option at CB, our defensive signings will have been sub standard compared to other positions.

Like him but a CB he is not. Holding some hope but expecting the next signing to be Dom Ball on loan which is really not enough.

Warburton seems to rate rather poor Centre Backs very highly which is slightly worrying.

Don't think anyone would've thought Keirnan and Wilson would be our best centre backs come the 1st of September. Kind of looking that way if Ball is the player signed.

Ball is heavily linked with a few teams down south, i just can't see it being him as we've also got a few players for there, davie used to play there and i bet they'll bring in an experianced defender a bit older because we just can't afford anybody in there prime, the english market is mental so hopefully it'll be outside that for more bang for your buck.

I don't understand the obsession over ball yes he's a good player at CDM but we have better players there now like barton and rossiter. He's not the solid centre back we need. I'd be very disappointed.

I am not going to defend Bartons disgraceful actions from his history however he seems to have turned himself around.

Fd is spot on even if the 'character test' phase was misplaced (fair play he said so) . This isn't about who was/ is the biggest ned. I am unmfortable with Barton's actions in the past but I can accept that the management team believe this is in the past and he can add real presence to the team - seems right so far but we will see.
For me Lafferty would not add to the team so not for me. If we get someone else in fine. If not give Dodoo a run. He made himself chances last night and kept coming back - first full game too.

So the same doesn't apply to lafferty. If the management brought him in how's it any different from barton they would think he could to a job. So he should be accepted the same as any player mw has brought in.

I don't particularly like Barton in terms of his past but at least the guy has ability. Lafferty is a headless chicken that would be nothing more than a waste of wages. If he wasn't an Ulstermth then people wouldn't even be considering him. If he is the best we can come up with then I will be surprised. Indeed it seems to be only our supporters that are linking him!

He was one of the highest scorers in the euro qualifying campaign. And he would certainly score more goals than miller in spl. So that would an improvement.

How do people come to the conclusion that they'd rather hodson over tav? Hodson didn't shine at a poor Kilmarnock last season whereas tav was up there as one of our best players scoring 15 or 16 from right back and being involved in another 15 or 16 on top of that. We've seen hodson a couple of times against poor opposition and people want him to start haha. He was signed as back up for the full back positions nothing more.

hodson stood out at Kilmarnock and burst into the scene at a young age at Watford. taverner needs a kick up the arse or he will lose his place to hodson as hodson can actually defend.

He's a defender to start with. Tav isn't. In the premier league we will need a better defence. We're not going to be romping every game so we need to be tighter at tbe back. That's just my opinion.

hodson was good at killie last year but tavs was probs our second or third best player last season and I think in th modern game he is a great player with a bit to learn defensivly but is young and can learn.
we have a fullback that scores goals which is what will make him worth millions in one or two years.

Can you explain how you would teach Tavernier what he needs to learn defensively? He can't tackle or doesn't know how to mark anyone and that's skills you pick up as a boy. He has probably being playing football for around 15 years so if he hasn't learned to defend now why do you think he will improve now?

A wee thought away from the actual fitba, back in the 60s, there was an idea that fans coming to the game could buy, both the match ticket and train ticket and the plan was to build a station right behind the Broomloan stand, as the train line runs right behind it, great idea not carried out then, but think of the relief it would give to fans going back to the toon , it would help all the chaos getting away from Ibrox.

I cringe with some of the comments hailing him as some sort of all seeing deity.

He talks well, has done what was expected so far (largely) , but he's done nothing that any decent manager couldn't do with our resources.

why would clubs go into recievership?, since you have been away most clubs are doing ok so tend to disagree with you Bear, the league does need reconstruction but if you have nuggets in charge that haven't got a clue ( spl), your going to get the same effect, 2 division, top div 20, 1st div 24, 3 go down, 3 go up, its not rocket science but like i said, clowns in charge.

I honestly feel there is more chance of Epl clubs going bust than Scottish clubs, very few make profit, some run by rich playboys who might get fed up, over inflated player costs, and tv money getting cut. anything could happen.

Said the same before Hamilton. But he did kind of change the tune mid week when he said he reassessed the game and thought the defending wasn't as suspect as he first thought, which meant he didn't want to rush a defender in. Makes you think it may be a defender this week. Surely today or tomorrow we'll know who's going to be our main CB this season.

One game against Peterhead changes nought.

I agree with you bluedie. People seem to think Ball would be the solution for the defence but he couldn't break apart Wilson and Kiernan last season so I have no idea where the thought is coming from. His best position was in the holding role but now we have Rossiter who is head and shoulders above Ball in my eyes and would be the first name on the team sheet for me. I think Rossiter could easily be our player of the season.
