Simonsen is another example of the safety first approach we have apparently adopted. There is a certain logic to this method but after all that has happened there are only a select few that benefit. We would be better closing the youth facility at Auchenhowie and leaving the manager with the 'old pals' signing policy.
If we are fortunate enough to progress again into the premier league we will be far worse off as a footballing unit than when we left it.
Forgetting everything else, our demise has been an opportunity missed to rectify years of mis-management. Buying success is not the answer long term and we will be fodder for money grabbers for years to come.

a total waste of a wage to sit on bench ally mccoist ain't willing to take chances with young players ovibiously thinks if bell gets injured gallager ain't good anuf youth will never get chance with him in charge all a hear him saying is when we get to top leauge he wants to replace the 20 30 million pound worth of talent we lost will be no chance board will spend free agents again

have jist heard simonsen signed 1 year contract diabolical if he wanted a experienced goalie he should have sibned craig gordon what must young goalis at ibrox think

Believable0 Unbelievable0

Strange post. you are upset we signed simmosen, wanted us to sign Gordon but want the the youth goalkeepers to get a chance!whats it to be?
Although as much as it pains me ally has done the right thing. if bell got injured early on in season would it be fair to rely on the young boy.

Seem to remember a young keeper at Ibrox called alan mcgreagor always going on loan eventually became our #1 so it didn't do him any harm to bide his time

Big col I meant if macoist felt the need for experience he should have freed simonsen and signed gordon my opinion stick with gallagher

Wull I don't think it would be fair to put pressure on a young goalkeeper.
Think about this scenario. 10 games to go. we are in with a shout of winning the league and bell gets injured. gallacher comes in and we lose 4/5 of the last games and gallacher is at fault for a couple of the goals. the kid would never recover.
Also Gordon would cost far more than simmosen and what I saw last year he is a decent backup.
I am ally's harshest critic but I think he has done the sensible thing.
This is a big season for us. no one expected hearts and bibs to be in the league this year and somebody is going to be disappointed. let's hope it's no us!

So am I but simonsen lost goal against dundee utd gallagher has got tobe pitched in some time old adage if they are good enough they are old enough ta

Unbelievable Simonsen signs a one year deal what a waste of money the young goalkeeper Gallagher should leave McCoist obviously doesn't rate him and has McAusland left wasn't up in the training camp up north?

Believable0 Unbelievable0

I agree but not on the lad leaving he looks as though he could cut it but who knows our managers mind maybe he is just trying to bring up the average age of the team cause we've so many young guys!

Agree0 Disagree0

What is this massive fixation some posters have with mccausland, he was out on loan at Ayr and was viewed as average at best. Is it that the clamour to get him in is because some posters just don't fancy foster or faure at right back
