Warburton signing a contact extension till 2019. The real singing of this summer, absolutely fantastic. Can't wait to see what this season brings!

12 Jul 2016 08:10:18
In total agreement there leven lad, the most important figure at any football club is the manager, warbs and big davie signing their new contracts is without doubt the best signings this summer, I'm totally ecstatic with this wonderful news as our management team are imo brilliant! I said on here when warburton and big davie weir became our management team over a year ago now that the way they work and their plans for our football club would make this the biggest revolution since graeme souness and walter smith breezed into town in '86,only difference is warbs and weir are doing it without a big budget, superb!

12 Jul 2016 12:04:06
He was always going to sign but I can't see how you put this ahead of someone like Barton. The gaffer would be here regardless he has another two years left on his deal (now three) . Delighted that the gaffer has signed a new deal but in reality it doesn't mean anything. He will have a decent buy out clause and if someone from England wants him and he wants the move he will go and that's why I don't know why you value it so much. Kranjcar and Barton are the best signings for me this summer. Not sure what kind of deal McParland is on but he's a guy I'd like to tie down for the long term as well, an unsung hero at Ibrox at the moment vital component for our signings.

12 Jul 2016 12:31:50
RossW, You cannot see how put ahead of Barton, well would barton and kranjcar both of whom you obviously rate very highly have arrived if Warburton was not here? Also to date Warburton has done what he was brought for others have still to prove that.
You also say that signing another deal means nothing and then go on to say you would like Mcparland also to sign extension.?

12 Jul 2016 13:00:02
They wouldn't have arrived if MCPARLAND wasn't here. You could be default be petty and say "well he wouldn't be here without MW" which just defaults back to none of them would be there without King and the current board. How can a resigned contract of a year extension, which everyone expected because he would have had to accept 6k a week for two years otherwise, be more significant than a permanent new player signing of the calibre of Barton or Kranjcar? MW would have been here regardless of the extension. The extension is meaningless in the sense that if a club from England wants him they would get him anyway it adds nothing more than boosted wages to MW which he deserves. What part of that can't you process? If someone from down south wants him they will offer whatever his buyout clause is and if he wants to go he will. Three year deal won't prevent that if it happens. That's why its not at significant as MW. Last summer, yes best signing by far but how can you put a resign in that category when we are bringing in players like Barton who I'd say was the biggest signing by a mile. I say we should tie McParland down mainly because I state I have no idea what kind of contract he is on for all I know he has a year left and will leave next season but yes it is futile in the respect that we can get priced out off anyone down south.

12 Jul 2016 13:35:48
Cannot believe you do not know anything about Mcparland contract since you seem to know all about Warburtons, assume this knowledge all from newspapers, which are always spot on eh! Similarly as you seem to know all about Tavernier and Waghorns based on your previous posts almost suggesting they should be hung for having the audacity to try and improve their lot, regardless of the fact that their input last year was certainly greater than others like Wilson etc, but can only assume you know how everyone's salaries compare before knocking individuals.

12 Jul 2016 13:43:41
Good news about MW and DW contracts. Notice Kenny has spoken some wise words on life after Ibrox and expect Tav and Wag hearing message loud and clear.

12 Jul 2016 14:06:22
Honestly rossW your statement regarding mark warburton is baffling to say the least, the most important, iconic person if you like at any club is the manager especially someone of the ilk of 'the magic hat', truly mate some of your statements I really can't make head or tail of at times.

12 Jul 2016 16:20:24
I'm ranking them in order of how important the deal is. MW would be here REGARDLESS of whether or not he signed another contract. We wouldn't be talking about challenging for the league without signing the likes of Barton and that's why I said it was more important. How does that baffle you that I value the Barton deal more than MW one year extension? We could have signed a one year extension in 2 years if we wanted there was no rush, no necessity to it and that's why it's less important than you are making out. Has nothing to do with MW himself, what he brings, what he has done but how can signing a one year extension be more significant than Barton on a two year deal? All I've said about MW contract is the fact he has two years left and was on 6k a week. Common knowledge by all accounts. Have never once said anyone should be hung so if your just going to make stuff up then go for it I said everyone else had accepted deals that was offered to them and they didn't and I don't believe the board would have offered less than they were worth. I have never said that I know what any player is on other than Barton who is around 15k.

TL;DR It has nothing to do with MW and what he has done, It's not him or his contributions that I feel is insignificant. It's the fact its just an extra year which means nothing in comparison to the quality of Joey Barton and Krancjar signings have brought this summer. How can you say him signing a year extension was more important than these signings this season? That's what the whole debate was "Signing of the Summer" and all that stuff I'm reading. I just said I felt that its really no big deal that he's signed another year in comparison to the other signings we have made. Just dumb people saying "oh its the signing of the summer" **** off how can it be no one would be talking about the title if we hadn't signed Barton and Krancjar and if he didn't sign he would be here anyway its just a year extension.

11 Jul 2016 22:45:22
Warburton signs new deal till 2019 hope the rest follow the gaffer.

11 Jul 2016 23:11:19
Well things have worked out exactly as we were told by Warburton etc. regardless of certain medias doing their utmost to undermine all things Rangers (as is the norm) , and unfortunately many on this site are taken in, no surprise now if they flog away at the Tavernier and Waghorn situation in the same way, and unfortunately already they seem to have managed to have many on this site to turn against these players.

12 Jul 2016 09:18:52
Yeah but we are allowed to voice our opinion on what we read. I never once felt that the gaffer had refused a contract but reading about Waghorn and Tav (Waghorn in particular liking an article on twitter about this) I do feel it's true. I can see it being true due to other high earners coming in and them feeling like there worth that much too when they aren't.

12 Jul 2016 10:51:39
No figures have even been mentioned that they knocked back, so how can anyone slate the players for turning down a contract no ones even seen? Is that not what negotiation is?
As for the manager and Sir Davie, well done to the board for getting this over the line. Dave King and his team have been the real sensation of the summer, backing the manager in every target. I've not been this excited about a campaign for over a decade.
I'm sure there will still be some pathetic snipers taking pot shots at him for rediculous things like Nomads etc but the thing that matters most is the team on the park (get that right the rest falls into place) and they have delivered so far. Striker and CB still needed but the teams looking good.

12 Jul 2016 11:56:09
Recbob every Rangers player or staff offered a contract by the club has accepted so far. They would not offer a contract they thought they wouldn't accept the whole point is to "reward" the players and in turn adding a few years to the contract and maybe a larger buyout clause or whatever. Greed is all it can be. We made them.

11 Jul 2016 18:37:00
Hi first time post can't see us getting boy from forest cost to much money a think we should go for James Vaughan boy got a bit of class about him good solid striker.

12 Jul 2016 08:06:02
It's a goal scorer we're looking for and Vaughan defo isn't the answer.

12 Jul 2016 09:14:53
Vaughan staying at birmingham now i think.

12 Jul 2016 11:07:58
Checked bristol rovers striker matty taylor out, he's a goalscorer alright and just what we're needing, with the chances our midfield will make taylor would score well over 25 goals for us.

11 Jul 2016 17:32:45
Going by kings statement re kits looks like we won't be buying any for this season.

11 Jul 2016 17:44:21
If we're able to get by without the retail being sorted, we are going to be in such a strong position once its all fixed, i think once we get told to go out and start buying kits from dave king, we will beat all past merchandise season sales.

11 Jul 2016 18:50:31
Totally agree we will beat past season sales sooner the better though I don't know the numbers but we must be missing out on millions so u correct if we can get by and hopefully buy kits soon aswel as hopefully some european income we'll be in decent shape.

12 Jul 2016 07:37:17
So pretty much the same as no decent rangers fan was buying kits to line Ashleys pockets anyway.

The goal is probably to run rangers rangers retail into the ground if they can't make a deal with Ashley to either rip up contract or get better deal.

12 Jul 2016 23:28:37
Again I will be shouted down but how can we be in a stronger position having broke agreements with red 32 and Puma. Sponsors and kit manufacturers will think twice about doing business with us. What happens a year or 2down the line if Dave King thinks we not getting a good deal walk out and pull the imagine rights again.

11 Jul 2016 16:38:30
Does everyone expect we'll have a new striker signed this week before the game against Motherwell?

Would usually expect something from in the know posters on Rangers forums, but nothing.

Anyone think any news will come out later tonight about a striker?

11 Jul 2016 17:11:15
doubt it, maybe 2 weeks time we will see a striker and defender signed by then. At least some concrete interest will be shown by that point I would imagine.

11 Jul 2016 20:05:45
Seems to have gone quiet on both fronts and against Motherwell I would only expect 1 new signing to start the game out of the 8.

11 Jul 2016 22:18:03
Im sure warburton said most of new boys won't play against motherwell . i reckon windass would be only 1 maybe clint hill but burnley game will be the target for guys like barton, krancjar.

11 Jul 2016 14:39:00
Anyone know if Kiernan and Rossiter are fit and in contention for weekend squad. Don't believe either had a run out in the US game.

Also any new on the whereabouts of the boy Murdoch? Personally I hope he goes on loan to Bradford for the season.

11 Jul 2016 14:55:25
Rossiter was playing for England U19 in the European championships in Germany so not sure if he's got time off after that played every game for England and was there captain as well. Kiernan was injured over in the states not sure if he is fit yet.

Not heard anything about Murdoch. He didn't travel with the first team to America he will be loaned out or released.

11 Jul 2016 15:41:39
thanks good news about Rossiter.

11 Jul 2016 20:07:03
AnotherBear

I think the under 19 championships starts today.

12 Jul 2016 07:34:38
Wonder who disagreed about the u19 championships starting today when they did?

12 Jul 2016 07:44:54
Your right Biffo

Beg your pardon that was the qualifiers. starts today the 12th of July best of luck to him.

11 Jul 2016 13:08:03
Folk just wake up and slaver pish on here?! . Gavin Reilly, Bobby Zam!

11 Jul 2016 12:10:29
I've saw on Twitter @talkingbaws that we might be lining up a loan move for Chelsea player Izzy Brown, think it would be a fantastic opportunity for the boy but game time would limited and Warburton has said loan deals are unlikely.

11 Jul 2016 12:16:02
The only substance the rumours have is what's being discussed for a while, that he "liked", tweets from Rangers fans.

The newspapers that are reporting the news are the last ones to the party yet again.

11 Jul 2016 14:19:17
Regarding loans and game time who the f#*k knows? if this lad Izzy arrived he could storm it! Ball was a loan and got plenty. Also the lad Hinds from Arsenal looks promising.

11 Jul 2016 14:34:13
both these players, G Reilly and Zamora, would be step down from Nicky Clark and we let him go.

12 Jul 2016 07:42:10
Is that talking fitbaws or just pure baws? Lol.

11 Jul 2016 08:41:41
Hope we get clarity then closure on the contract discussions this week, starting first with MW. Difficult to envisage issue with Wag and Tav if the boss had been tied down. On Wag and Tav, unless under current deals they are significantly disadvantaged compared to Fod, Holt, Forrester, Kiernan, Wilson and Halliday, then I really find it difficult to have real empathy. Considering where they have come from unfair and unrealistic to compare themselves with Barton, Nico and Rossiter.

11 Jul 2016 09:06:44
If the rumours are true then it is nothing to do with Warburton not signing a new contract yet. The players seem to believe they are worth 15k a week. Warburton has already said that he will be back into talks with dave king soon.

11 Jul 2016 09:21:27
There is mountains being made out of mole hills regarding this, it's all part of the negotiation process and at the end of the day money is a big issue of any working man. Deals will be signed when both parties meet in the middle, a deal suitable for both employer and employee.

11 Jul 2016 10:26:06
Spot on Negri, this happens all the time at every club. let's be honest if any of us were in the type of job where we could move around we would all ask for something and hope to get an amicable conclusion, only difference is that certain newspapers would have no interest in highlighting hoping to create hassle.

11 Jul 2016 10:34:16
Exactly the point I made FD both have done nothing to justify that kind of wage. Baron and Kranjcar are proven and Rossiter is a great prospect. Waghorn and Tav won a Scottish championship title and a challenge cup, both expected, and failed in the Scottish up. If they won the Scottish cup and we were in Europe then maybe but they have done literally nothing special since they have signed. Tav is average defensively but very good going forward. What has he done to justify wages like Barton? Same with Waghorn he scored like 12 penalties and was injured for half the season. Doesn't look like top earners to me. Not yet. Both could end up flopping this season and both can easily be replaced. Why would you offer, which I assume is a 3-5 year deal on improved wages to there justification when they haven't done anything to warrant it? You compare them to someone like McKay or Holt who for me were our best players last season they have justified the contract offer the board offers what they feel is appropriate and they accepted it. Now Waghorn and Tav want as much as the top earners when they weren't even our best players last season. Its a non starter the board offered them what they felt was deserved. We could get at least 2 mill for both anyway which would be decent business.

11 Jul 2016 10:36:16
My animosity comes from the fact that every other player has accepted terms to be there when offered. They will have been offered similar to what everyone else was. They have done nothing to justify being a top earner the days of just paying high wages to players are in the past. Just angers me since we made them. Neither the two were anybody 18 months ago.

11 Jul 2016 11:45:49
No big deal if they leave IMO.

11 Jul 2016 13:15:38
The bonus we get with having a manager who was formerly involved in the stock market, is that he is good with money and understands value. He will take Into account. everything these players can offer, future sell on fees etc and make an offer, which these players are well within their rights to knock back, now both parties have a starting point and can take it from there. I would be more worried about losing Mark Warburton than any player in the squad.

11 Jul 2016 13:38:32
Ross W, How do you know they have been offered same as everyone else, how do you know everyone else has accepted their offer, indeed would be very surprised if everyone are made offers at similar time, and of course it suits certain newspapers to highlight these two. And whilst we can debate how good they are they were certainly lot better than some of our dross on perhaps substantially more, but let me add should they eventually leave i am sure there will be a bit of an earner for us so i really don't see what the problem is, they have until now done the job they were brought for.

11 Jul 2016 15:40:40
Well I know everyone else accepted there offers because they signed extended deals through out the season (Miller, Mckay, Holt ect) . I know how much they offered would be reasonable by reading articles wrote about the wage structure and transfer policy by the club. They have two years left on there deal and they view this as a "reward" to the players so I firmly believe they would have offered what they deserved and they are getting greedy with wages because of our new signings.

11 Jul 2016 18:00:48
why can people not stop getting their k. ickers in a twist, get a grip these two guys are signed until 2018, simple question, if you had deal with your company until 2018 and they wanted to extend would you and perhaps more realistically in this instance your agent get the feeling they really wanted you and therefore see what you could get. (anyone who says no are telling porkies) let's get it straight these guys have not asked for a transfer, so please stop trying to make them sound like undeserving traitors. Come on once again sources trying to cause bother and so many of us happy to jump on.

11 Jul 2016 19:51:08
One thing is for sure, that, if and when either Wag or Tav leave, they will never play for a club as big as Rangers again. Let's see how these players perform first 6 months of this season and if they can help us back into Europe then they would be more within their rights to ask for a higher salary. Time will tell on this one.

11 Jul 2016 06:32:25
Not a rumour would like Isaiah brown young Chelsea striker class act.

11 Jul 2016 17:23:39
His brother James is good, wowww, a feel good, a know that I wood.

11 Jul 2016 06:28:22
Here's an idea Bears, how's about after every game the lads throw their tops into the stands! Would make an excellent statement and gesture! Dunno if I've had one too many, but I can just see it then reading about it, week after week after week HaHa. What's your thoughts on that one people?

11 Jul 2016 13:44:10
I've agreed to this though guess you sit near the touchline. We are in club deck, no chance of a shirt for us then I guess.

11 Jul 2016 04:57:07
Right Bears just wanted to add my opinion to this re-sale patter I've come across here and there, Rangers have till now signed 4 players Gilkes Hill Barton and Nico who we we prob won't get any re-sale but look at the ages of some of our players who we know have huge amounts of talent. Nico etc will undoubtedly help develop and raise these players games, guys like Holt Halliday McCay Tavs even Wes and I could add more. The press talk about some of these players leavin because their not going to play wk in wk out but I think Warbs will have told guys like Holt etc willthat he has a huge future at Ibrox and being in a team where your being rotated with guys like Barton and Nico plus Europe round the corner then Ibrox is going to be a great place for guys like him and I think the trend will continue with Warbs having a great mix of age and skill. The future my friends looks good on many levels.

11 Jul 2016 20:27:28
Good post Andy1872 let's hope we get warbs tied up on a long term deal aswell.

11 Jul 2016 02:03:01
What about Adebayor?

Top finisher, big guy, something we don't have.

1 year contract with option to extend?

£20k p/ w with top goalscorer bonus

Just a thought.

11 Jul 2016 04:11:44
Don't think the big man will have the hunger for it and if we're talking about having a dressing room with no prima donnas then I could be wrong but i'd give him a miss, rather the young guys from Chelsea and Arsenal.

10 Jul 2016 22:40:20
I've seen a lot of people mention isaiah brown hopefully this is true what a talent to have in the team

Also seen a few people mention rvp can't see that happening at all.
