Interesting to hear Couillaby is a defensive type midfielder who would break up play. We have Mccorie, Jack, Couillaby and maybe even Rossiter playing for that holding type role.
Who will be in rangers midfield? How many will play in midfield?

Ejaria, coulibaly and Arfield will be our midfield 3 unless Davis signs. Mccorrie will be backup as for jack and Dorrans not good enough. Rossiter is always injured unfortunately.

I'd say Coulibaly is more a box to box midfielder than defensive, maybe in a similar vein to Stuart McCall.
That's the reason he wasn't getting a game at Angers, the guy he was bought to replace was a sitting midfielder and the manager didn't want someone who actually got forward sometimes, it caused some drama and he was pretty much left out in the cold.

Since I know nothing of coulibaly or Ejaria, I can only go on what I do know, that is that McCrorie brings energy, dig and passion, he loves a tackle and likes getting on the ball so for me I want him in CDM. I know nothing of the 2 loanees so I can't comment on them but if you play Candeias RM Arfield CM Ejaria or Coulibaly CM, Murphy LM and MCCRORIE DCM I reckon that should be a pretty decent midfield, depends what system he goes with I suppose.

Jordy if you seen game last Friday you’d have noticed formation was 4-3-3 with Mcrorie - candieas and Arfield as midfield 3, candieas isn’t a natural I’m that position so I can see him falling out, for Coulibaly not Ejaria
Front three was Murphy windass and Morelos, morelos will be main striker, not really sure which part of front three Sadiq plays but guessing he will get game time at expense of possibly Murphy

Just my opinion, Jack is too indisciplined, definite talent and a good player, however I think he is too much of a liability and can land us in trouble in big games with this, he’s a backup player for me, not a first pick.

but i do honestly think that gerrard wants coulibaly to be a disciplined,
defensive, play breaking, midfielder mate! Gerrard has indicated as much!
We have an abundance of other midfielders, who will be capable of doing the job, that you think coulibaly was brought to do! that's my take on it mate!

This court case with the fat man is a nightmare if he wins the right to sell the kit I personally couldn't bring myself to line Sports directs coffers but I appreciate the team need all the financial help it can get its a horrible position for Hummel also what's the thoughts out there?

I hope I'm wrong but I think the case relates to SD wanting to submit a bid for the retail contract which they can't until the current one expires at the end of the month and that's how the fat man went to court to prevent any new contracts being signed. Hopefully just a formality but I've a horrible feeling he'll never leave us alone.

I had to buy my 3 knock offs in Turkey just before they officially came out. Luckily they are very close to the real orange tops. I will buy the official home tops for them at Ibrox. My kids love the orange tops.

I’d be more than happy with Goldon, katic, mccrorie and Wilson, sure Wilson might not have much experience but he’ll never gain any if he doesn’t get game time, few full backs as well if we did suffer any injuries, I’m not against bringing in another but I feel like we could use the 3m for him to strengthen our attack before our defence, I’m not disagreeing with any you bears, just simply my opinion

McCrorie is not a centre back, he is a midfielder. We need to get another CB in because it means McCrorie doesn't need to be an option and to be fair Dembele showed him up at CB. I understand the point of being able to cover that area if it's a necessity but I just don't consider him a defender. Need another striker though. Looking forward to the game tomorrow bears?

Aye to be fair it doesn't matter who's arm that band is on, going by the game against Bury there seemed to be more than a couple of leaders, which is great because they all feel accountable. Goldson enjoys a we shout, Arfield quietly directs, Shagger is . . . . Well shagger, McCrorie although young sometimes likes to take a bit of responsibility and obviously Tav is the chosen one by SG. Predictions for tomorrow?

If Gerrard does sign cooper from Millwall do yous think he will be playing 3 at the back with maybe tav having a bit of a free role down the right with candeias in front of him or maybe a 3-2-3-2 formation as can't see tav or candeias being pushed out by any of the newcomers especially with tav being captain

Personally I think Goldson and cooper will be the centre backs with Katic back up and a future prospect. It’s healthy/ normal to have 3 good players competing for 2 positions. It doesn’t mean we need to play all 3, can tell we’ve not had squad depth for a few years people will be suggesting we play a 5-6-2 formation next so we can play all our signings lol

I think we will play in a similar manner to the current England team/ tactics. It looks solid in defence and balanced going forward, and wing-backs play an important part. Thus our captain should flourish under this system. This resposibility could be the making of him.

I think Gerrard and the hierarchy are boxing things very clever.
Making sure they get everyone in first without leaving themselves short.
I think after the big CB from milwall comes in and maybe 1 or 2 others you will see a mass exodus of players let's say between 7-10.

Morning Bears. Like most of us I imagine, I'm really excited about Gerrard's appointment and what he is doing to bring new players to the club. However, a question: Does anyone know where all the money is coming from whether it be transfer fees or wages? I've seen nothing about a massive new investment. Nine new players on top of what we already have is a lot of wages!

46000 ST sales, new kit deal, new commercial deals. Match day sales, merchandise sales (hopefully) and I think the squad will be trimmed between now and 30 August

I’d imagine it’s something along these lines: 2 million for finishing 3rd last year, 3million for this years part of the Hummel money not including shirt sales (if and when we get to sell any) around 14 million on season ticket sales, and hopefully a further 6 million again if and when a shared issue is held. In terms of wages, yes we’ve brought in 9 players but let’s look at the wages we’ve freed up from last season: Pena, Krancjar, Miller, Bates, Martin, Holt, Dodoo, O’Hallaron, Kelly, Thompson, Hardie, Alves, Cummings. And I’d imagine that a few more will be close to the exit door, Cardoso, Foderingham, Hodson (and hopefully Herrera and Halliday too) .
There’s also probably lots of other smaller sponsorship deals happening behind the scenes bringing in money, not to mention ticket sales from the European ties and friendlys (which if you add them up will bring in about 1/ 2 a million a game) . That’s where the money is coming from, no major outside investment, just a business that is finally (and hopefully) being run a bit better.

Some suggest that Steven Gerrard's signings are almost complete
Still looking at bringing in another quality centre half as we were able to offload Bruno Alves and I don't think Fabio Cardoso is in Gerrard's plans

I don't think their is much need for a winger right now. Young Middleton will come into team if required I think. However if the squad ends up depleted its a position I could see us strengthening in January if we are still in the hunt.
