Wonderful story unfolded in the fa cup. Dave whelan breaks his leg in 1961 come final, used his 400 quid to start business and goes on to win the cup with proceeds from that.

Believable0 Unbelievable0

He waited a long time for it but what a victory. So pleased for Wigan, the under dogs. Hope Mancini doesn't get the sack---he did ok but maybe you have to win all the time or you go. Hope not.

What a crossroads we face as Rangers supporters.
The more intuitive thinkers amongst us are exactly what the club needs to become a true, modern progressive football club. Unfortunately this intuition and intelligence is exactly what is stopping many of us from committing to renewal. At the moment it would seem the people at our club are more interested in playing up to the more hard of thinking supporter who will generally renew with a few stirring sound bites and nonsense propaganda. If this is the following Rangers want then they are making the statement that they are happy living in the past and have no intention of progress in either our club or Scottish football. I have seen nothing to date that suggests Rangers are looking to the future and are prepared to shed a few people for the greater good. I totally resent being put in this position as my heart says renew but I know if we do then nothing will change. We are in danger of missing the boat over the bright new horizon we said we looked forward to.
Come on Rangers! give us something to believe in other than the tired old WATP chants. The football equivalent of a stubborn old man seeing out his days in a home.
I don't want a future of Murray mints and p!55 stained breeks!

Believable0 Unbelievable0

Terrific post. Time the watp warriors realised this is a new club and moved forward with some vision.

Agree0 Disagree0

One of the mates was at the title celebrations? last week was shocked after the game it was aldi sausage rolls multi pack coke cans split he lifted a sand wich and put it back down it smelt like cat food

Agree0 Disagree0

Good honest post m8. but the problem is, a large number of fans won't let go of the 54 and counting crap, they just won't accept the old club is liquidated and its now 1 and counting, the powers that be are, nt helping with their total lack of info to the fans, its a new club and they should be coming out and saying so, the club will never move on when all theyr doing is lying to the fans, they know what's what but for some reason can't say. IMO, and I really believe it, admin, and liuqidation 2 is definately going to happen, no doubt al get pelters for sayin this but take the glasses off and look at it. there really is nothing left, there's no secret millionaire gonny walk in and bail you out, your not talking a couple of mill, it will take many many millions to sort this and its just not going to happen. I've posted it before the only thing that might save you is the fans. BUT they're ALL SITTIN DOING FK ALL. GARY

Agree0 Disagree0

Good honest post? How can renewing my season ticket possibly be construed as living in the past? I support Rangers and love going to the game with my son home and away if we can get tickets to cheer and encourage them to victory, and you know what we ARE the people.

Agree0 Disagree0

@4 exactly what OP is saying! Knuckle dragging attitude is killing your club! But you keep repeating your dribble mate, maybe one day you will truly believe it!
Well said OP!

Agree0 Disagree0

Great post, as you say the more intuitive amongst us have been aware of this for some time, but we need the majority, this is where McCoist is muddting the waters, some supporters loyalties are still divided between the legendary player that he was and the shat awful mangaer that he is, the same goes for Smith he should either speak up or leave the club.

Agree0 Disagree0

@4- Yes, honest as in that's how I feel. Not a problem that you disagree but questioning my honesty is not an option.
I just want something different for my club and take offence that to some people these views make myself and others somehow lesser Rangers supporters. My son and I both have season tickets too but I feel that we are being asked to buy into something that is a sham Rangers. I am perfectly willing to listen to evidence that it's not, trouble is, nobody from the club is saying anything honest. The focus is simply on getting our money again.
This is why I'm not religious either, I don't go in for blind faith.
If you're happy to ignore the overwhelming evidence that our loyalty is being abused then bash on mate. I just hope your son and mine still have a honest Rangers with morals and dignity to follow for years to come.
By the way, my constant reference to "We are The People" in my posts is simply to highlight how laughable this is.
The whole basis and origin of this chant was for the ordinary worker to show solidarity to highlight that they held the power. This would be used by striking shipyard workers taking control of an unfair situation. The saying was used in conjunction with active action. It now has a twisted irony when it's being used by the very people who we are letting control our destiny. We are only THE PEOPLE when we take a stand and right now we most definitely are not THE PEOPLE.

Agree0 Disagree0

@7 that was a great post mate! But do you not feel it is wasted with people @4 these people are the ones that ally is directing his rediculous and sometimes dangerous rants! They are of the lowest denominator and really if there was a fit and proper supporters test by the SFA they would fail miserably! Best bet would be this fellow is happy singing bigoted and vile songs!
Glad people like you are making a stand! For you, I wish every success with your journey! And the poster @4 is the main reason why the very vast majority want an end to this football club!
Good luck mate

Agree0 Disagree0

@8 in all honesty dude I never got that feeling from @4's reply. I think assuming he sings bigoted songs with his boy at the game is a bit of a leap. He's entitled to his opinion but I do think there are too many like @4 who are not helping our future by following blindly. Insinuating that the boys a bigot is a bit mental in my opinion. He's probably just an ordinary bloke that loves Rangers but isnae prepared to consider a future that's modelled differently to the one we're used to. It's a scary prospect for some. There are still many bears who are staring slack jawed into the abyss in disbelief. Glad my post struck a chord with some, although I get the feeling that most who agree are not Rangers supporters and that itself concerns me. Wakey wakey bears, the weather may suggest differently but it's spring and hibernation is over.
Baybear

Agree0 Disagree0

Totally agree baybear and wrong assumption. The WATP brigade have to be moved aside as they are the minority that are dragging rangers down! If they don't like the idea of living in an ever changing world best they don't get out from underneath the rock these Neanderthals climb out from under each morning!
Rangers had the opportunity to move forward but with ally at the helm appealing to the lowest of the support is halting any progression! Time to get into the 21st century and out of the 16-17 centuries with these persons attitudes!

Agree0 Disagree0

As a Celtic fan reading this I can honestly say it's the first time I've seen a reaction from you lot like this, admitting you're a new club which in reality you are but to us you're still the same fans supporting a new team so I don't think that will change the rivalry when you get back to SPL (If you do :P) But if Liquidation 2 did come, I don't think you lot could bounce back, the mincing you'd take from us bhoy's would be unlivable but this could cause trouble, if you're not told who owns what etc and then it all happens again, the Bigots would most probably riot and I can see most of you are just men who love football and love supporting the team you've grown up to watch so in a way it hurts me seeing fellow Scotsmen being treated like rubbish by their club they've been so loyal too it's unreal but of course us Celtic fans want Ally on a 15 year contract at you lot but if I was a The Ranger's fan I would be chasing him out he makes more money than Dortmund manager and Lennon and has no class the WATP thing to the fans downgraded your whole club as you have a sad wee man like him in charge.

Believable0 Unbelievable0

Can anyone on this forum remember ally being a rangers supporter from east kilbride does anyone remember attending a game with ally in the early 70s I don't and I've never heard anyone speak of him or mentioned running in a gang or hanging about a specific area who is ally mc coist w2ho knows him where did he drink or where did his dad drink or gamble nuff said

Agree0 Disagree0

Ally frequented a pub in carfin with his dad who was a motherwell supporter, but ally was more interested in hamilton prob that's where the love of rangers came from being the underdog

Agree0 Disagree0

@1. that's is despicable. So now he has to prove all the c@&p you adk for. Aye and big Lorenzo was a fully paid up member of the Itslian RSC. This forum gets more ridiculous by the day.

I remember he chose sunderland over rangers from st johnstone.

I can only surmise that Jabba putting Stockbridge in the press to show deeds covers was a spiv trick. Despite repeated calls for views of the full titles and owners names, it hasn't happened.

Secondly, heading for June and no accounts. Can a statement be released please clarifying when first accounts are actually due and when fans/ investors can expect them? Some people need to know whether to take the investment loss and sell or hold or whatever.

Believable0 Unbelievable0

11 May 2013 21:16:31
Stockbridge is the real power at Ibrox, never was Green never was Murray.

& who's behind Stockbridge?

As for the audited accounts, I don't think we'll being seeing them any time soon.

Whole situation stinks and this investigation ain't going to shed any light on anything I'm afraid. Only a court of law can ever do that satisfactorily.

Agree0 Disagree0

More importantly perhaps is the support knowing whether or not to buy season books.

Agree0 Disagree0

12 May 2013 15:53:47
Some folk on here have predicted another adminstration but if that was even a possibility then we would be trying to raise money ASAP and season tickets would already be on sale and maybe we would be starting to discuss another share issue.

Makes me think we're in a much better financial position than some would like to admit.

Agree0 Disagree0

@3) don't think so.
The board have a responsibility not to sell ST if they know its not enough to deliver the costs of a full season.

If they know they cannot complete next season, selling tickets for a full season is fraudulent and knowingly breaking trades description and numerous other legislation.

I believe the board are working on huge cost cutting models to see if ST and other income will deliver break even next season. And theteafter work out Player budgets.

Problem is Ally is inviting trialists and offers/ spending before knowing his budget.

Looking forward to a couple of trips to East end park next season, Pars might be our biggest opposition.

Maybe not. they may still be a division above Rangers next Season.

Agree0 Disagree0

Think your getting a bit ahead of yourself Dunfermline not relegated yet

Agree0 Disagree0

Made hard work of beating 8 men today so I think OP maybe spot on.

Agree0 Disagree0

Winning 6-1 and having missed a penalty aswell hardly paints the picture of a struggle does it. Albeit 3 of the goals come in extra time. They are 50/50 to go down. I'd be more worried about them beating Paul Hartleys Alloa in the play off and Rangers having to face them next year.

Agree0 Disagree0

So dumfermilne have aske to join the spl2. Get pumped in 1st leg. Second leg an spl referee comes in, sends three players off and gives a penalty? Something fishy there? Sporting integrity at its best people.

Agree0 Disagree0

It was tough real tough getting that 7th against Alloa

Agree0 Disagree0

@No. 5

You don't really do irony, do you? How well were The Rangers doing in SFL3 before they were given SPL referees?

Agree0 Disagree0

The whole point of my comment, #5, was to be ironic. Because i'm sure all 3 red cards were justified including the penalty. But, lookin at stats people could draw incorrect conclusions, just like people drew uncorrect conclusions on decisions given in our favour this season by looking at statistics rather than reality.

Agree0 Disagree0

10 May 2013 22:43:53
Surely when you have a vote of no confidence against you, then you leave? Unheard of to try and resist and stay on.
Smith threatening to leave is blatant blackmail. A veiled attack on season ticket money revenue by walking out. A juvenile position for a director to take. It appears to have bought a few days grace.
I don't think Walter smith should be on any board. He instinctively thinks only spending big money assures success and nothing else will do. I don't even know if he and Ally have an O level between them. He probably thinks the money at rangers will always look after itself.
I'd rather have frugal businessmen in charge than passionate about football types with no sense of business.

Believable0 Unbelievable0

They commonly say that for any football club to become a successful business that there has to be someone at the top who makes decisions with there head and not there heart. I think that sentiment is in your post somewhere. The obsession with immediate success and the old habit of giving jobs to the boys all must be avoided in favour of a long term plan, a cold concise attitude is what's needed. No arrogance, no more mouthpieces pandering to the illiterate element. Businessmen, with legitimate honest backgrounds who are the best Rangers can attract in there individual fields. And 100% clarity. Rangers are a PLC now and still there's the cloak and dagger bullish*t, to go along with the lies being fed to supporters.

Rangers need massive change. It would revolutionise the club. Reinvigorate it. And with that, the honesty, the careful financial management and the stability it would then gain, the already dedicated support would swell to unprecedented levels when considering the current financial climate.

The only worry is, that dream seems so far away at the minute.

Note how I use the word dream! It really shouldn't merit having to use that term for something so basic, something so mundane, so ordinary. Its just sums up how much of a farce the whole thing has been/become.

Agree0 Disagree0

Thanks someone else who doesn't think walter is as brilliant as some

Agree0 Disagree0

Dunno about O levels but I can tell you between them they have 44 winners medals

Agree0 Disagree0

That is why Murray won't go. He might be the only one there who really has Rangers best interests at heart. Maybe he knows that cuts must be made and a long hard few years might be ahead.

Agree0 Disagree0

You have no clue what has went on behind the scene's to make Walter Smith even contemplate resigning. How anybody can honestly think that him and Ally have anything but the best interests of the club at heart is beyond me. Between the 2 of them they have over the last 25 years had a say in most of our major honours.

Agree0 Disagree0

Green raised vote of no confidence, its 3-1 (1 abstention) against Malcolm, then Smith offers resignation if vote stands, vote is withdrawn, and Malcolm stays in place.

Now - its leaked that vote occured. so release minutes - which if they don't record vote - it did not happen!

This is all spin, as green & cohorts look to continue the battle in the boardroom for RiFC.

Green/Ahmed/.

vs Murray/Smith "who not putting in anymoney".

We seen all Ahmeds leaks and posts, we seen greens briefing to press about MalcMurry issues (?) - its a media campagin against the two real rfc fans on the board Smith & Murray

Legg/McMurdo lapping up the green lies and spins.

Agree0 Disagree0

"Unheard of ". Really!
What about the Glazer's at Man Utd?
I'm getting really fed up of people spouting nonsense regarding two of our clubs iconic servants over the last thiry years. What Ally and Walter have done between them for our club deserves more merit and appreciation than those demeaning comments and you really need to have a word with yourself mate.
Sir Alex is worshipped at Manchester United for his services over twenty six years, and NL is worshipped over the road for his services as a player and manager. Your comments regarding faithful Rangers servants are a disgrace, and even more so if you are a bear.

P. O. B.

Agree0 Disagree0

@4 come on how long has walter been back, yet he has not told the supporters a thing, ally has had day to day contact from the start with charles green, what has he told the support, let us be honest with ourselves, the club we know as rangers is being cleared away from the inside and all that will be left is a shell admin and maybe liquidation again I think, at least bomber spoke out, shame on you walter and ally, true rangers men would go with there gut instinct

Agree0 Disagree0

It's disrespectful to the Board not to leave. How can you continue to lead Directors who don't want you? And by disrespecting their judgement.

Walter going to the media with idle threats because he has a differing view to the majority Board members is puerile. It's not the behaviour of a non executive Director at all. Classless.

There has to be a single vision. Not a split. It should be the majority board democratic position without dirty little deals or else months down the line same festering problem.

Agree0 Disagree0

Murray refusing to go after a vote of no confidence is bringing the club into disrepute. I trust the silence is the board finding a replacement and agreeing the compensation package.

Agree0 Disagree0

Todays herald.1m share institutional investor claims to have been misled by Green. Backing Murray.
Murray is the only proven honest man on that board. Its why they want him out so badly. The rest of them have all been caught with their fingers in the cookie jar to a greater or lesser extent.
And this why your spending £300K on an investigation - Its basically to find out how many of your board are crooks!

Agree0 Disagree0

POB - Do you have no problem with Ally backing Whyte to the hilt even a week or so before administration?

Or backing Green and his share issue?

Or for that matter Walter taking a seat on board specifically to get bears to part money on a share issue that was always going to lose them money.

Agree0 Disagree0

@ #12 -No name poster.
As a Rangers supporter I have no problem with AM or WS at all.
Along with the forty odd thousand who go to Ibrox every other Saturday, Walter and Ally included, we do what we can to try and help the club. Have you ever considered that they either don't know, are constrained by legal terms, or are waiting for investigations to be completed? Of course WS will back the share issue, it was crucial to the future of the club.
Everyone who bought shares did the same, they backed CG to the tune of 22 million, why have you got a problem with that?
Next time leave a name so as we can tag you for future posts.
Question for you "Mr Anonymous".
Did you do your bit for the club and purchase any shares?

P. O. B.

Agree0 Disagree0

Ally and Walter have the club's best interests at heart? No doubt. But they have their own interests at heart first. And what IS the club's genuine best interests conflicts with their Ideas. Neither of them in my opinion are competent to be anywhere near running a big football club. McCoist shouldn't get another year.
I believe a new manager with his own coaches beside him would energise and invigorate the club. Butcher or McCall would double the ticket sales of McCoist.
A huge error would be to retain McCoist on the payroll. He would need to leave for 3-5 years.
But what Walter and Ally think is best for the club most probably isn't the best way forward they have no competence in such things. They haven't spent their lives being board members managing big clubs. They did spend decades under SDM experiencing how not to do it (which they mistakenly think is correct).

Agree0 Disagree0

Post 6 & 11 make the most sence!

For me it all goes back to Murray, if he hadn't chased the dream then 9 in a row wouldn't have happened. Signing players at 12m was always going to fall flat one way or another.

As it stands the rangers have 2 key things. Assets & fans. Both of which can make money.

The first problem is who owns the assets? After nearly 15 months since admin it's still no clearer who owns these grounds. Is it Craig whyte or Charles green or even Murray? This is the first thing a buy will look into, next buying a club. It has its pros & cons. To be successful at any business more so sport you need fans, they spend money for the owner to make money. If this means saying what the fans want then say it, bit like the buying off a used car at Arnold Clark talk the patter, reel you in get the money happy days. Greens doing that. He also brings in the ex manager & who the fans regard as one of the all time greats, all the things to do to make money. Now any club is a business first & fore most Murray seems to be thinking green is upto something that long term won't help rangers hence all this carry on of him being asked to leave. And as post 6 says if there was a meeting then show the minutes of it.

The media have totally bowed down to rangers over the years & more so since whyte messed it up. It took a war correspondent from down south to question what's going on at ibrox as the scottish press bottled it.

Fans can talk with there money as its season ticket sales time, you have 2 "supporter" groups who I believe a lot of the rangers fans don't like however the fans need to stick to there "we are the people" & stand up to this board with solid enough questions to what needs answered. Maybe that way you can stick to your above saying rather than we are the sheep - follow whoever is in control of the club & line there pockets.

Agree0 Disagree0

£300k investigation? £300k buys 536,000 shares!

That's more than half the guy speaking out for Malcolm Murray, who decides to remain anonymous. Absolute rubbish. Does the guy exists? Is it Ally? Is it Walter smith? Plc's just simply are not run by the anonymous opinion of a minority shareholder. If a shareholder isn't happy they should sell. Very simple. It's called the market.

Agree0 Disagree0

POB - No I didn't buy shares as I said from more or less the moment he arrived that Charles Green was Craig Whyte mK2.

Saying that if I had the chance to buy them for 1p as Ally did then obviously I would have put my hand in my pocket.

Mr Anonymous

PS Been watching Rangers since the 1979s regularly.

Agree0 Disagree0

(16). except its not about how many shares he owns. Its about whether the flotation was fraudulent and he was misled. along with all the bears who put there money in!

How many bears put money into this floatation?
How many would have put money in if they had suspected Craig Whyte still had a claim on the assets and could be lining his pockets on the proceeds of it. But that was a real risk, and one that Charles Green knew about, but refused to publicise, despite a legal duty to do so.

Craig Whyte wrote to Charles Green on 12 December and told him that he was laying claim to the title, as per the agreement Craig Whyte alleges they reached at the time of the acquisition of the assets from liquidation (and which has been supported by taped evidence). Charles Green had a duty to inform Cenkos, AIM and the RIFC board of this risk. Craig Whyte informed him of this duty to disclose the risk in the letter.

He did not. Instead he withheld the information. But he had a legal duty to disclose this as a material risk in the share issue. He allowed Malcolm Murray & Cenkos to press ahead with the flotation, and stake their reputations on a lie, selling the bears down the river in a get rich quick scheme for Charles Green and his cronies - cronies who may still represent the majority of the RIFC board.

Well. Go ahead bears, line their pockets, before they disappear into the sunset. why not! Or you could maybe listen to the only lifelong rangers fan on the RIFC board instead?

I am not a Rangers fan. (I am not a Celtic fan either. )
But take it from me. , you guys have been had, big time. and you are your own worst enemy!

Time to get a grip bears!
