What players will we be able to bring to the club?

Personally some descent signings available cheap that could make a difference Josh meekings, kallum Higginbotham, jason naismith, Scott allan.

Or will we be able to sign better players?

Obviously a lot of wages will be spared with outgoings but the wage budget needs reduced anyway.

Believable2 Unbelievable2

13 Apr 2015 10:11:08
I hope you mean as being cheap that we will be paying nothing? We are running at a loss and even buying 40,000 season tickets isn't going to balance the books. We are going to have to get loans or freebies. and get rid of a large portion of the high earners including background staff. Along risky road is ahead and we need to understand that its going to take many years to get back on a financial footing which would allow us to buy on the players market .

Scott allan is a dirty player, bad attitudet, just a wee ned. he's nothing but a young ian black

Would like to see Scott Allan at Rangers

Agree0 Disagree0

13 Apr 2015 12:44:41
ALLY, I disagree with you there. 12 players are out of contract, all 12 are high earners, McCoist and McDowall are off the books next year, we are instantly saving a good 1.6million per year?

next year I strongly believe we will sell 40k season tickets, being the first year back and what not. that's 20million atleast? next year will be the start of the recovery and I'm excited about it. no more mismanagement.

Agree1 Disagree3

13 Apr 2015 13:46:44
onlyshowaround . 20 million(maybe, King and co are not everyone's cup of tea)take off the loans ,leaves around 9million, the staff who are going will have to be replaced and they unfortunatly will also need paid. biting into your savings of 1.6 m, no profits to invest in our future years.
It still shows as our club running in deficit.and if and I hope this is not going to happen, we don't go up this year. we will be lucky to hit 30,000 season tickets sold which drops the money coming into around 14million again pay the loans back etc we have a major problem arising. we will still be running at a loss that we can not afford.
Scenarios on a postcard please.

Agree0 Disagree0

13 Apr 2015 14:23:27
you're talking a lot about getting rid of staff? which staff is this? as far as I'm aware McCoist and McDowall were the main problem. other than that were apparently UNDER staffed? even at that 30k season tickets and then the extra tickets throughout the year plus any cup games, you're talking easily 18million in tickets alone. no other income has been added to this as of yet. our biggest earners are leaving in 2 months time, McCoist was on 850k a year. I believe the loans will be paid off by the board rather than using the income that goes into the club and company. The board have said many times they will invest, maybe they are walking on the side of caution? who knows what sort of Contracts and deals have been made. It's been a very long 4 years, the amount of dodgy deals that could've been done is worrying.

Agree2 Disagree0

13 Apr 2015 16:47:40
Stewie- Andy Murdoch will do for me and we also have Tom Walsh and I am not sure if Scott Allan would improve our side.
I am sure McCall has an idea on potential signings

Remember though it's a squad game now and Allan is definitely good enough for our squad. He is a massive improvement on Black and Hutton and if coached correctly coukd turn out a really good player.

Agree1 Disagree0

13 Apr 2015 19:50:54
Yes a different type of player from Hutton and black, he's an attacking midfielder like law and shiels and he is better than them anyway.

Agree1 Disagree0

13 Apr 2015 19:53:04
Stewie- agree he is a good player and better than Black and Hutton and it's important that we improve the squad but Hibs won't let him leave and if so it will cost us a sizeable transfer fee.

Out
Black
Boyd
Faure
Daly
Miller
McCulloch
Moshni
Simonsen
Robinson

Smith
Hutton
Zaliukis

Stewie, zaliukas is not out of contract and has another year to go,the out of contract players are-robinson(gk),simonsen(gk),smith(lb),
foster(rb),faure(rb/cb),mohsni(cb),
mcculloch(cb/mid),hutton(mid),
black(mid),shiels(attack mid),boyd(st)
daly(st),miller(st),out of all these out of contract rangers players I personally would only keep 3,ie.faure,
mohsni,shiels

The poster asks what players you would like to see go he doesn't specify they have to be out of contract. Zaliukis is slow and he's done he needs to go to. He will only get slower and we don't need that kind of player

What are your reasons for keeping Faure & Moshni? Both are woeful. Faure in particular is dreadful and it amazes me just how low some fans expectations are that they want to keep him. He offers nothing and like Moshni is very prone to stupid mistakes. Would much rather see Sinnamon give his chance at right back or someone else signed. Faure is not the answer going forward

Cee XXX

Why would you want to keep Smith and Hutton? Smith is past his best and is injury prone and Hutton is awful. Please explain what either would bring to the side either in the Premiership or the championship?

Agree1 Disagree0

13 Apr 2015 13:04:17
I would keep Boyd 1 year deal, the guy is a finisher. Not seen 1 ounce of that this time round but with a better spine and a few goals he would turn it around no doubt.

miller, great player and the only striker that actually has vision! 1 year deal.

Hutton - 1 year deal to see us through our first season back in the premiership. Isn't the best player but on his day makes a good contribution.

Foster - If mccall ever uses 3 at the back and a wingback role. Foster is crap defensively as a RB but as a wingback he is effective. hence why he was singed by prem rangers back in the day.

Smith - good crosser, good at dead ball situations, tidy player and good back up.

the rest I would get shot of

Agree0 Disagree4

13 Apr 2015 13:29:23
Keep Smith, Boyd and Foster?? Please tell me your on the wind up? Wouldn't keep any of them even if they were free. If McCall or whoever can't find better players than them then heaven help us

Agree2 Disagree0

13 Apr 2015 14:24:52
Every player needs to go, if no one gets offered a deal as expected we're looking at Bell, Temps, Shiels, Law, Zal, Barrie McKay, Gasparotto, Clark, Murdoch, Wallace and Walsh I think! only youngster I'm seeing out of contract is young sinnamon who merits a new contract.

Agree1 Disagree0

13 Apr 2015 14:59:01
If all these players go then there will be plenty of money left for wages and a good manager will be able to sign the same amount of players released on vastly reduced wages and who have more to offer. Let's face it the majority of players out of contract have been poor and it shouldn't be too difficult to replace them with better players

Agree0 Disagree0

13 Apr 2015 16:50:12
L3mster, why would you keep fatty boyd?! he's missed so many chances?! I'm positive he's missed atleast 7 or 8 shots from 3 yards out? he's messed up a good 10+ headers from easy positions, the guy could easily be on 20+ goals this season if he just stayed away from the buffet! he's had his last chance and I for one don't want to see him NEAR ibrox next season. people try to defend him too much. If you watch any of the games he's played in you will see how shocking he is. Miller sadly is past his time, he's useful as he is an engine, but other than that he's been dreadful in my eyes. I feel sorry for wee clark he's a goalscorer and never got a chance with McCoist or McDowall. goes from top goalscorer across Scotland to struggling to get game time ahead of Daly, Boyd and Miller.

Agree0 Disagree0

13 Apr 2015 18:25:29
Onlyshowaround

Spot on about Boyd. Some of the chances he has missed have defied belief and it's not just the odd chance. Unfit, out of shape and not interested. Would go as far to say he has been Ally's most disasterous signing which is really saying something. Even when he comes on I've no faith he will score. Watching him is like watching a lame animal try and run. He has been a failure and needs to go

Agree0 Disagree0

13 Apr 2015 18:44:30
McCall will assess the squad but you would expect the majority of the out of contract players to leave with possibility of Miller and Shiels being offered new contracts and players coming in on lesser wages.

Agree1 Disagree0

13 Apr 2015 22:55:44
You won't be saying that about Boyd when he moves to killie and bangs in 20+ it will happen.

It's evident from the games I have seen him in he lacks confidence and the pressure is getting to him. He's not the type of player that will go and win games alone but he would be a great part of a decent side.

Smith can't really say anything bad about him he has assisted a good few times and puts in a great cross.

Foster - makes terrible defensive mistakes but I would utilise him as a wing back because he's good going forward.

Miller - getting on a bit but next season he would be good backup if we brought in a few good strikers.

You lot just have a stigma about anyone that's not young in this team. The youngsters do have energy and performed well but They have also made mistakes and not always looked comfortable on the ball. For me this season only one player has got pass marks and that's mcgregor.

Do you have anything bad to say about smith? And do you think Miller is not good enough to be backup?

Agree0 Disagree0

14 Apr 2015 08:50:56
smith is past it and injury prone. A good manager will be able to find a younger, fitter and better player than him

not to be nasty but d king is reeping what he sowed with the boycott once u stop going u find other things to do at the weekend coupled to 3 years of sh/te foot ball its not an instant fix the crunch time will come when season books are due for renewal if promotion becomes a reality hopefully that will boost the attendances will jist have to wait and see what happens but lower attendances is the trend for most clubs that have had no problems never mind what we have had to put up with

Agree3 Disagree2

12 Apr 2015 17:54:43
Hooly78, Still far too many ifs, buts and maybes about King's way forward for us. Until he clarifies grey areas he will be expecting more than he gets. In fact, one statement would help settle the water --------- just an honest appraisal of the title deeds and Rangers interest in them. And if he wants to be totally upfront ------- A BUSINESS PLAN. The footballing side will be fine if the business is on an even keel.

billy b buisness plans are not for consumption of fans these are for accts banks etc the present board have invested substantial funds to buy the shares to gain control u can take it as read the present board will run the club fiscally correct they are just in the door it takes time to carry out investigations and see exactly what position the club is in and for all thhe posters that are shouting about title deeds for ibrox and murray park do u think for one minute they would spend nearly £15m purchasing shares not to own ibrox and murray park common sense tells u that the club has title to all property whether ashley has lean on albion car park and edmiston house when the £5m loan is repaid the security will be removed in fact rangers if u count property values etc against the minimal debt we are far stronger than most clubs I england and abroad what must be improvrd is revenue which can only happenn with a sucess ful team once the season book money is in and the new share issu the club will have funds to invest inthe team and repay loan to ashley the share issue cannot fail because king and the three bears are underwriteing it so be patient bears

Have to say this again we will need to learn to live within our means. We will NEVER get back to the 9 in a row era that was all done with the banks money those days have gone and will never return, and once we realize that the sooner the better. Live within our means, don't spend just for the sake of it or trying to look like a big club. build up to be a big club again. Don't think we should be the number 1 club because of past history that in the past let's look to the future and do it right this time

Believable6 Unbelievable8

12 Apr 2015 12:34:55
We have to be the number one club and yes because of our history. I'd hate to think we're happy to aspire to be a Ross County or ICT.

12 Apr 2015 12:45:48
mullad I thin everyone understands that now but if the club is run correctly we should be a major player in scotland and go from there its all down to being a better team than we are now and giving the fans something to turnout and support then kick on and get back into europe we owe ashley £5m and that's it plus the three bears loan

Agree1 Disagree3

12 Apr 2015 13:17:25
Well said mullad,,,,,,,, the days of spending money we don't have are over,,, only thing in our favour against the Uniteds Aberdeen etc is our name, history still counts in the minds of decent players and they will sign for that alone.
Although i'm still thinking the whole lot will have to be closed again because Green,Ashley etc own everything and I for one will not be lining their pockets anymore.

Agree4 Disagree1

12 Apr 2015 15:52:37
There is only one realistic option. Live within our means. Liquidation is most certainly not an option - the SFA will not be so forgiving a second time. Living within our means is going to mean being, at best, second best in Scotland. FIFA fair play regulations, a lack of youth development, and of course the onerous contracts mean that as long as Celtic remain in the SPFL, the best we can hope for is 2nd place.

Agree2 Disagree2

12 Apr 2015 19:18:55

Morning Bears. Today sees the start of three league games for Gers. Raith at home today, Livingston away on Wednesday night and Dumbarton away next Saturday. Surely we can expect the players to pull their socks up and give us 9 points out of 9? Do that and we'll secure 2nd place for the play-offs. My team for today would include Daly for Clark up front (I'm assuming he is fit) and definitely Dean Shiels in middle. Fingers crossed!

Aye Clark doesn't do it for me. The lad tries hard but it's just not enough. I'd stick with Templeton on the right, start with Murdoch with Shiels just behind Miller and give Vuckic a roving commission. Bell, McGregor, Zaliuskas, Moshni, Wallace, Templeton, Law, Murdoch, Shiels, Vuckic and Miller.
If the game is going well I'd bring Black on for Murdoch and Clark on for Shiels, Black to stiffen the midfield and Clark to take advantage of a tiring Rover's defence. 3-0 today
