I see there is a bit of consternation
about young mr wylde tonight Ive read a number of different things about the situation and
a lot of you are criticising him ..hes just a youngster
saying that it would appear one former celtic player has his ear..and Id say this to mr
wylde if there is one person who you should not listen to its that man..hes certainly
not a person anyone should listen to
A good day for celtic when they got
rid of him.

Believable5 Unbelievable0

Please enlighten me, which former Celtic player would that be...

Agree0 Disagree0

Frank McAvennie

Agree0 Disagree0

Wylde he used to be at celtic

Agree0 Disagree0

Maccaveny the tool he is Haha

Agree0 Disagree0

I could be wrong but other teams can only talk to player if he is in the last 6 months of his contract or his current team gives permission. and that includes his agents floggin him around? and he still has 12 months to go in his contract.

Agree0 Disagree0

McAvenie is his agent. There's brains for you.

Inverness defenders Kenny Gillet and David Proctor have been ruled out with hamstring injuries as Rangers visit in the Scottish Premier League.

Billy McKay and Josh Meekings remain sidelined are out, along with Lee Cox, and must wait for their debuts.

Sasa Papac misses out for the visitors with a chest infection, while fellow central defender David Weir could also remain on the sidelines.

Versatile Steven Whittaker is also doubtful with a broken toe.

Inverness manager Terry Butcher: "There's a big match coming up and the players know that - they've probably had it marked in their calendars for some time.

"We want to put on a good show for the viewers and make sure we give a good account of ourselves, which I'm very confident we'll do.

"We've got players who have experience last year of beating Celtic, players who won at Ibrox a couple of years ago and experience of going to Ibrox and Parkhead last year and getting points.

"The Old Firm don't hold any fears for us.

"This is a match to be relished and really enjoyed. We want to beat them, as simple as that."

Rangers manager Ally McCoist is disappointed to hear that midfielder Gregg Wylde is being touted to clubs in England.

The Ibrox boss says the player's representative has also moved the goalposts on a new deal with the club.

"I don't know who has been hawking or touting Gregg around England," McCoist said.

"People have been telling me that he has been, so if that is the case we'd obviously be very disappointed."

Wylde has been with Rangers since he was 14 years old, and McCoist remains hopeful that association can be maintained.

"You'd obviously be hopeful a new deal can be agreed.

"I can't speak for the lad or his representative, but I know we went back with an improved offer and we were told not only was it not enough but the representatives of the player had moved the goalposts again - they wanted more than they originally wanted.

"So I'd have to suggest a little bit of work has to be done before an agreement can be made."

Despite doubts over his contract situation, Wylde has featured twice for the Scottish champions this season, and McCoist hopes that will continue.

"At this point he is firmly part of our plans," he added

"You just have to look at Gregg - we played him almost every game at the end of last season.

"He's been part of the team and squad ever since, so that won't change."

And the saga rolls on I would much prefer to see juhasz in the centre of the defence with my goian
simply because In what Ive seen for myself of those players and what Ive read as well they strike
me as being the best we could get.We seem to be getting into midfielders which is fine keep them all
even edu he turns it on sometimes
speaking of whick I see auxerre signed some
big time m/fielder maybe your stuck with edu
could be worse forwards ..jelavic is good
but hes no god so forget the superman chat
lafferty I like Healy looks like he might
have something about him mr beattie
needs to be sent home yesterday he has nothing
by way of agression or guile to offer and
he has no passion carlos cuellar at his peak was a good defender but injury takes its toll ..look at beattie Id say sign weiss hes talented and young
and is an international hes from a footballing
family and he will be a great player in the near future I feel the ones I havent mentioned are
passablebut Id say finally you all slate
mr broadfoot but I think he will prove you all wrong you all wrong take note ally yours kirk ...captain that is ..spocks pal..

People are saying about the amount of CB's we're going to end up with but that's what we need competition.

Weir is older and can't expect to play every game & personally I wouldn't want him too it's good to have him in and around the club though 100%

Mo Edu likely to be sold? so Bartley can slot into Central Midfield or holding midfield.

Goian Centre Back, King Carlos centre back or right back.

Danny Wilson a young extremely talented young defender who has the club at heart being there to play left or centre back if needed.

Lee Wallace what a gem of a signing, Ortiz shouldn't be played on the left but some of his play is immense but should be on the right or back-up for the right to wee Naisy.

Lafferty & Jela up-front on form unstoppable as we seen last season.

We're ok, we do need squad depth that's one thing for sure so i'm not concerned how many extra players we get we already have the quality.

Believable2 Unbelievable1

12 Aug 2011 19:17:02
does anyone else think that if we sign loan signings i.e wilson bartley they should be squad players only and used if our own players are unavailable as why should wilson walk straigh into the team and get more experience to benefit liverpool this is not benefiting our players likes of perry who probarbly just as good if given the chance.

Believable3 Unbelievable2

Thats a very good point mate,,why should we develop other teams players for them to get the benefit in the long term,,maybe we should be patient and percivere with our youngsters for a season masybe cost us a title but in the long run pay off with a young team signed up on long contracts and knowing each other inside out just like Barca did

Agree0 Disagree0

We can't afford to throw young guys like Perry in at the deep end when we have a championship to win. It's got to be the best players for each position and if Wilson/Bartley are better than whats there then they have to play. I would like to see more actual signings rather than loan deals though. Maybe in some cup games this season we can get guys like Perry in. I watched him on Thursday for the U21s and he looks like he reads the game well and can put in a tackle. Lacks pace though by the looks of things.

Agree0 Disagree0

Totally agree as loan players are ok in the short term but 6mths or a year down the line then we,re back at square 1 and having to try build a team yet again.

Agree0 Disagree0

Wilson is only better than whats there cause we havent seen enough of our youngster, we didnt know a great deal of wilsons qualitys until we were desperate and he got his chance if we had other defenders at the time he would not have got his chance like whats goin to happen to perry etc if we are helping develop others teams players

If the boy wylde is gettin above his station and being advised by that p%$ck mcavenie then bury the boy in the youths till his contract is up

Believable3 Unbelievable2

You have to wonder about the boy's loyalties and mindset given his choice of agent and that said agent has just been exposed in a Sun article/video singing a banned rebel song in a pub belonging to the father of a present Celtic player.I'd get him out of our club sharpish.

Absolute nonsense. Its not like a lawyer would go divulging their clients details. I'm a law student and i know a little of Lawyer/client confidentiality ( on par with doctor/ patient confidentiality) and i can promise a huge thing like this would lead to further law suits for breach of confidence etc. if the info was spilled. Offical rangers Website:RANGERS will approach Swedish outfit Orebro to try to complete a deal for Alex Bedoya now after being granted a work permit for the American midfielder today.

The Light Blues have already concluded a pre-contract for Bedoya to join in January. However, they were given clearance on the player today and will attempt to bring him in as soon as possible.

It has also been confirmed by boss Ally McCoist that a deal has been done with Australian midfielder Matt McKay and Rangers are now waiting for a work permit to be processesd so that he can be brought onboard.

However, the manager accepts that the chances of signing Hungarian centre back Roland Juhasz appear to be fading. He is still keen on Carlos Cuellar but the stumbling block is that the former Ranger won't be fit until the middle of next month.

McCoist also indicated that he could be open to a loan move for another former Ranger, Danny Wilson.

He said today: "The good news is that we got a work permit this morning for Alejandro Bedoya. In an ideal world for all parties we would like to get a deal done sonner rather than later.

"I will speak to Craig Whyte and see if we can do a deal with Orebro and it would be ideal if we could have Bedoya registered for next week's Europa League match in Maribor."

Greg Wylde getting too big for his boots by the looks of it. Ness, Hutton and Fleck have all signed so if he thinks hes too good for the gesr he knows where the door is. No place in Ibrox for his type.

Billyboy1

Believable5 Unbelievable3

I think the reason he is not signing the contract is because he wants to be offered the same wage as the 3 above

Agree0 Disagree0

They are all on 3 grand when gers offering wylde 900 quid a week so thats why

Agree0 Disagree0

Danny Wilson wants to come back to Rangers because he can't get a game. The same thing will happen to Wylde. Wilson should have stayed at least another 3 seasons before he looked for a move down south. He would have got first team football at Rangers. The same goes for Wylde he will progress more at Rangers. But as I said before money talks.

I think our team tomorrow will likely be:
Shagger
broadfoot/edu Goian, Bartley, Wallace
Davis, McCulloch, Edu/Ness(If fit), Ortiz
Naisy, Jela

I think Broadfoots ultimatum the other week will force his place in the line up but i'd rather see Edu there (assuming Whitty can't be played). Not sure if Ness is fit but i think Edu will play one of these two positions. Maybe if all is going well, last half hour we'll see some of the youngsters get some time - Ness( if not starting) Hutton, wylde most likely.

Believable0 Unbelievable0

Broadfoot is rank rotten so it doesnt matter what he says get rid an take whittaker 2

Agree0 Disagree0

FORGET BROADFOOT.

Agree0 Disagree0

I agree with you, but becasue im not the manager, im speculating what is the most likely team to be played. Not the one i'd pick personally, where i'd have a restrainging order on broadfoot from coming within the same postcode as ibrox on matchday.

I'm glad McCoist isn't playing Wylde if he is being awkward about a new deal. If he doesn't want to play for Rangers I don't want him. He obviously thinks he is good, where I think he is fast and that is all.

Believable7 Unbelievable1

He's hardly bein awkward if they hav offered him 900 or 1000 quid a week wen ness n Hutton are on 3000. I'm sure ud b over the moon if a guy in ur work doin the same job as u was payed three times more

Agree0 Disagree0

Spot on - he is fast but only in a straight line. Final ball is VERY often poor. If he doesn't fancy it at the Brox then he can p**s off....

do rangers own ibrox? Murray Park? Have a full quota of season ticket holders? 16 million from CL football last season? If so how can a BUSINESS that have assets and income like this be in trouble. All this crap about the Sherrif officers doesn't bother me at all. If the worst comes to the worst we could easily sell the right to name ibrox and raise a good few million, personally i wouldn't mind. I know a lot of people will be against the idea but look at the reebok, britannia, emirates, DW, Walkers, KC. All have an annual sponser so why shouldn't we do that. Don't call me a part time supporter or anything like that, i paid for my season ticket in the Govan front for 6 years before work commitments restricted me from going. What's your thoughts?

Believable3 Unbelievable0

Not one of them stadiums has history like ibrox has If its was a brand spankin nee stadium then fair enough

It,ll never be paradise though

Agree0 Disagree0

Ed on the naming rights issue: How can Man City sell the naming rights to the City of Manchester Stadium? I thought Manchester City Council owned the Stadium. Also has there been any official enquiries about the renaming of Ibrox? {Ed001's Note - the council own the stadium but not the name it is called, it is like renting a shop, you choose what to call it not the landlords. There has been very little interest in naming rights of Ibrox, sponsors know that the fans won't use the name anyway.}

My Team, if all plans work out in the transfer market woud be as follows. There are a few players i would drop because of inability to consistently play well and some i would drop because they feel they are above reproach. Rangers can become a force in Europe if players that are inconsitent and poor are dropped and others are given a chance in alternate positions. This would be my squad and formation.

GK - McGregor

RB - Bartley
CB - Goian
CB - Juahaz
LB - Papac

RM - Ortiz
CM - Davis
LM - McKay

AM - Bedoya
AM - Naismith

CF - Jelavic

(4-3-2-1)

I would use Bartley on the Right so that he could lonk up with Ortiz, he would provide some pace and be formidable due to his size on his overlaps with Ortiz. I would use Naismith and Bedoya to support Jelavic, when the team goes forward the (4-3-2-1) becomes (4-3-3) and when on the defensive the team becomes (4-5-1). Naismith and Bedoya would be given a sort of free reign going forward and backward, they would have their work cut out but they would reap the rewards for their effors buy supplying and protecting the team. Davis would provide stability of passing to the wings for McKay and Ortiz who would have options of a 3 man attack as the team went forward so that they weren't simply aiming for a 1 man attack.

Believable5 Unbelievable2

Like the look of that, maybe wallace instead of papac.

Agree0 Disagree0

Papac is much better mate. Best player wev got xcept jello

Agree0 Disagree0

I would play 3-5-2

Ortiz Bedoya Davis McKay Wallace
Jela Naismith.
Good attacking team but also strong when we are defending.

Agree0 Disagree0

Utter nonsense bartley cant play right back we will not get juhasz and 2 attacking mids is just laughable utter nonsense

Agree0 Disagree0

You are talking about Bedoya as if you have watched him a lot and know what he is about, think Otiz may come good when played in position but we do not know that yet, and whither you like it or not Lafferty was our best player in the latter part of the season.

You have to have Wallace in there. He's our marquee signing so far.

is it just one guy on here barking on about how he doesnt want defenders or is thers collective ignorence.

As it stands we have 5 CB's (apprent CB's)
Goian unknown
Weir far too old and wont be able to play all games
Broadfoot, no need to say we all know
Papac, better as a LB not very strong at CB
Bartley (remember hes a LOAN)

We need to build for the future, stop complaing about the players we are going for at the end of the day as unglamorious as you may think they are the are ESSENTIAL for the team.

Walter made us a defensive rock and we all loved winning even if it wasnt the prettiest.

Just stop moaning. We are ok up top just now priority should be DF and MF.

We already have jelavic, naisy, Lafferty, Heally Hemmings upfront.

Has someone bought Naismith. He would be the 1st name on my teamsheet every week. Greegs and Davis would not be far behind him.

Agree0 Disagree0

Can't understand why you would put Naismith in the team every week, why should we be loyal to him??, If healy was playing in his position this season, we would have beaten hearts and malmo, His sitters (the same as after he signed his new contract) have been embarressing and have cost us Progression in the top European Compition, and given Sellikfitbawclub a head start in the league......never mind whittakers mistakes (Who needs a good boot in the arse - maybe McMillan can show him a thing or two) we should be pumpin these teams with our "supperior" attack, people go on at how lafferty only performed at the end of last season, the same goes for Naismith, and his diving lost us the treble against Celtic in the Cup, talk about believing your own hype.

Agree0 Disagree0

Naismith is one of our best players your a nobody get real boughy, whitty cost us the malmo game

if Rangers go down for 40m for this tax case, then it sets precedent and the whole of english football will be quaking in their boots. If our bill is 40m , can you imagine what some of theirs are ? How easily we forget, bears. Less than a year ago we had huge debts, key players running down their contracts and ibrox in a state of disrepair. I now believe there has been improvements made to the stadium, Davis and greegs signed up on long terms and we're trying to bring others in. Wallace looks a great buy, bougie was a liability waiting to happen. never really played a full season what with returning late (very) from international duty, suspension or injury so good riddance, you've heard what he said after he left. that says it all.
I think after the transfer window closes, we'll see hutton and ness come into the team fairly regularly. Naismith will probly drop to midfield, so in all honesty there's not a great amount of players to buy for the scottish league. We may rely on a decent loanee from premiership to provide the sparkle for this season, but overall we have a new owner, a new manager and some new players. It takes a bit of time to gel. Also, did u check out Goodwillies comments in the sun, says he was never coming here. If thats the case then the transfer saga was not as much of a disaster as we thought, heards the same about conway, that he was never coming. the sun and the record only want to sell papers so they string us all along with whatever s***e they can think of. Yesterday they both had the front page of the bailiffs?, no other paper had this on the front page ?

Do you think James McFadden could be useful ed? {Ed032's Note - 28 year old injury prone striker/winger who IMO is living on past glorys (especially for Scotland) He would be a gamble without a doubt.}

Was Gazza not thought of similarly. Not saying hes fit to lace Gazzas boots of course... WATP

Let's be honest here lads , who would you rather have ?

Roland Juhaz who not many people have seen ( apart from YouTube ) were going to pay about 3.5 million and don't really know what were getting

Carlos Cuellar , has been here and had some fantastic seasons , sold him for near 9 million and everyone knows how good he is , now were getting him for 2 ?

now this seems a no brainer , although cuellar is injured for the saike of 1.5million ?

Thoughs ed ?

BROXY {Ed047's Note - We don't know what we are getting with Juhasz but all reports about him seem positive. I'd love to have him here but you have a good point. I also think that eastern Europeans can struggle to settle here whereas Cuellar knows what's expected and should have an immediate impact assuming he's fit.

Believable0 Unbelievable1

Still have a bit of a worry why Cuellar so cheap [injury??]

Agree0 Disagree0

Thought Wilson was a stick out against Denmark, would love to see him with Goian, and Bartley sitting in front of back four, and use Cuellar at rb which allows Whittaker in midfield which is definately his best position. Try picking a team with this playing 4-1-4-1 and see the number of attacking options it gives us.

Agree0 Disagree0

Whittaker is not a midfielder, who you dropping to put him in there. He needs to sit on the bench for a few weeks as his ego is out of control. Whoever sanctioned that man to get a 5 yr deal on big wages wants f***ing sectioned.

Agree0 Disagree0

If cuellars injury is that bad, then i think it would be caught if/when he has a medical. Therefore, if we get him, it will be becasue his injury is not too severe. Reports over aston villas finances suggest that Alex will need to sell before he buys (unbelievable considering who the combined surplus of £35m they;ve earned from selling two players...) though apparently he isn't looking for too many new signings.

think we should throw a bid in for wee Weiss , we could probably get him for 3-4 million , he's still young and he showed last year that he had a trick or two in him and could beat players , looks strongerthis season and we could sell him on for a huge profit

He also loves the club and would jump at a chance to join us again

Believable4 Unbelievable2

3-4 million? On one player? Where hav u bn for the whole of the transfer window

Agree0 Disagree0

He may still be developing and certainly wants to come back but he is not a 3-4m player at this stage

Agree0 Disagree0

Mancini wont let him leave he said it in the daily record about a week back he only wants him to go to the spanish or italian leagues

blue boy

Agree0 Disagree0

I think that would be a good move, as Mancini has the money to simply buy in great players - there isn't a whole lot of point in focusing on the development of younger players while the money is still there. Will Veiss realistically make it into the 25 man sqaud this season? no. Is he the kind of player who can hack it in the premiership? probably not for a few more seasons.

Agree0 Disagree0

Is weiss not entering the final year of his contract with man city?

Agree0 Disagree0

Completely agree he will come as Mancini wouldn't care where he goes if permanent.

Chillout, clearly the poster is unfamiliar with writing out formations in this format. Not sur i agree with that i think is the line up here, but looks fairly realistic.
