I believe that Ally is a real Rangers man and has Rangers at heart, but can't see the damage he is and has done to the team. I hope he leaves without a pay off so he can tell the truth behind the scenes or donate his pay off to supporters groups to aid a buy out.

Believable0 Unbelievable0

I truly hope you are right as it is sad to see the demise of a Rangers Legend

Agree0 Disagree0

Ally will give nothing to anyone othrrer than hiself

Agree0 Disagree0

Ally putting his resignation in. this is all stage set, been planned for a wee while, this is not just been decided today or yesterday. I think they knew they wouldn't beat Q. O. S. and then they got to go to hibs. and they won't beat them either. ally's time is up, I think he realises that now. butchers set up for this but can't see him doing any better, same players, no cash, next fall guy. ally was sh&&te as a manager, but no other manager in Britain has had to go through what he has, so have a wee bit of sympathy for him. it will all come out in the washing as they say

All Rangers fans know the league is gone, yet Stuart McColl says tv that its far from over. Looks like he will be involved in the revolution

It so easy to resolve. 1 new manager and 11 new players

What about Moshni? How does he get a game? Surely there are better options. As for big jig he's been a great Ranger but shouldn't he getting the team picked round about him and everybody played out of position to accommodate him. Lee should be a sub at best now we loose goals all the time through central defense its obvious that it doesn't work.
Will our over rated over paid dunses blame the master tacticians anouncment as an excuse, the poor wee things worrying about their massive wages, no wonder they won't get them anywhere else!

Believable0 Unbelievable0

12 Dec 2014 22:15:12
the problem has happened since moshni came back in the team and darren shoved to right back before this we were staring look half decent in defense as wee struggle to score goal maybe jig should play up front

Agree0 Disagree0

RM Gers ` I've been saying this for ages yes its time for a change of manager but he is entitled to the pay off just like all the directors who went before with their pockets full who released the fact he had tendered his resignation that should have remained within the boardroom the players need to take a long hard look at themselves so do the boardroom not one player stood up to be counted they have gave up as well the club is in freefall and its not all at Allys door so by all means have a go at him but remember the team have let him down and we have a board that are an utter disgrace and I think a lot will come out over the next few days roll on the AGM last years was stormy but this year will be explosive so Ally please please hold on till after that AGM don't give them any wriggle room then if you do get your pay off and go don't sign any gagging order we need to know what is going on upstairs

Agree0 Disagree0

Defense had a horror show. McGregor looks lost at right back, Two centre halves were MIA for second goal. Aird was good last two years as he was up against part timers so his pace and fitness made him look good against these guys. Now he is in against other pros they can match him for pace and fitness so he looks ordinary at best. Out of all the guys out on loan I'm surprised he was not one of them. Same for McCulloch at centre half, its not his position, has not grown up playing it, does not know all the little short cuts and things that go with experience of playing a position for years like Davie Weir had. He was always going to get caught out against other pros. Would have liked the young Canadian boy get a run at centre half but he would have need an old head next to him. I'm really taking to this lounge chair coaching :) lol

Agree0 Disagree0

Craig maybe jig should sit on the bench, allowing the defenders on the bench to get on to the park

Agree0 Disagree0

Cooper boy it wouldn't surprise me if they are trying to keep ally at the club until after the agm, for fear of what he could say if they paid him off tomorrow, ally holds a lot of shares so could say a lot at the agm, if he was no longer the manager.

Agree0 Disagree0

The problem in the defence is simple it lee mcculloch. The man is not a defender he filled in this position he spent 15 of his twenty years of playing in different positions than centre half. He still makes rookie centre half mistakes yet is leading our line at the back if u watch closely he always seems to be the one out of position

Poorest Rangers side I've ever seen in my 46 years on God's earth, without doubt. Will we finish second?
I wonder if Ian Black gets embarrassed driving his Bentley? To think he was ready to go back to painting and decorating because he couldn't get a contract then along comes the master tactician and gives him 7 grand a week, the mob from the east couldn't even write this script!

Believable0 Unbelievable0

Half time 1 down what does mccoist see in aird the boy could'nt cross the road & what does Clark have to do to get a game,

Believable0 Unbelievable0

Well done to Hearts on winning the Championship. They have went about things in the exact opposite way that we have.

Disgraceful that Ally publicly tendered his resignation just hours before this vital match but to be honest I think QOS would have beat us anyway. In fact for the first time in my life I really thought about betting against us for the first time.

Agree0 Disagree0

A disgrace, guy's like waddell, struth, wallace etc will be turning in their grave's at the shambles this club has become.

Agree0 Disagree0

The Rangers taught a football lesson tonight by a well organised, managed team. It now put's the board in a very sticky situation. As sticky as sticky the stick insect getting stuck on a sticky bun.

Agree0 Disagree0

12 Dec 2014 21:48:02
What do you expect the guy can't even resign properly. Go and become a legend again

Agree0 Disagree0

Mcc, No matter the score to-night, if amcc's actions today are not seen for the final boot in the himallaws, I don't know what is. He is taking the total hiss out of us and I sincerely hope that all his backers are happy. If reports are true this really is the final straw for many, and more than that the club is taken to an even lower state than it was in. Who would have believed that to be possible?

Agree0 Disagree0

12 Dec 2014 22:20:29
Game over as inept as Ally is with tactics the players have got to take a helluva lot of blame for that debacle if Ally does walk can he please take the team he has assembled with him, we need neither, we are undoubtedly rotten from top to bottom, and unless we appoint sir Alex or the likes (wishful thinking and tongue firmly in cheek) our next home game will be played in front of substitutes, ball boys, and seagulls. i'm sure this will be the straw that broke the camels back for the brave souls who decided to follow on and on. Personally I have no idea where we go from here, but when uve hit rock bottom it's either upwards or oblivion, totally heartbreaking. i'm sorry fellow Bears if this post didn't make much sense but a certain game drove me to DRINK.

Ally's resignation must not be accepted.
The question facing us right now is to determine the priorities for the Club. Top of the list has to be getting back to Europe/Premier league as soon as possible.
What is the greatest problem in getting us there?
Answer: A team of varied talent but reasonable potential, underperforming week after week after week.
What is the solution?
Answer: Replace the manager as soon as possible.
Who among us would subject our family to our having walked away from the prospect of £1,000,000?
To expect Ally to do so is unreasonable particularly as, apart from his performance when playing for the Club, Ally was The Shining Beacon during the lowest period in our history. His talent as Ambassador has been every bit as good as his playing talent. When adding the personality that had him en route to a career on TV there has to be a strong case for Ally to be the Club Ambassador in charge of the Press and Public Relations. His talent would be even more important to the Club than his playing days.
This is all the more true when we consider the reputation we have with the Press & TV who, in the past have been treated by our illustrious Leaders with the total arrogance that comes with ineptitude. This was all too apparent when we were thrown out of Scottish Football (with some glee) and had very few friends at our time of need. It is very important that RFC develop a positive relationship with the Press and Ally is perfect for that role
By offering Ally this position, we can bring in any decent Manager on a trial basis. My suggestion is McCall would be an obvious candidate after that set piece goal, if nothing else. He is also currently in part time albeit with Scotland, so would no doubt accept a reasonable increase in income with promise of more if successful
What is the next problem?
From the postings, it is obvious that our Support has become fragmented and this at a time when Fan Power could and should be brought to bear on the Boardroom.
By fragmenting, the Fan Base has removed itself from the business of running the Club. Bickering and flying round in ever decreasing circles has only one ending. It is absolutely essential that the various factions stop trying to act as the 'Real voice of the Fans' and get together in a united approach. Either Fans should all be buying tickets or no one should. The current situation is classic self destruct. There will be no winners.
Solution?
Looking at the alternatives:
No-one buy tickets:
This puts the pressure on the shareholders to try and avoid another round of liquidation and all that entails.
One scenario is that Mike Ashley or any Mr X would opt to save the club but this is unlikely unless Fans committed to returning to previous levels. (Again this would require a united Fan base).
The other is Liquidation. This would have the advantage of cleaning out the less desirable investors and also have some fans losing out financially. This was King's target but failed because of the fragmentation of the Fans.

All buy tickets.
It may be too late in some respects, but the obvious result would enable the Club to cover costs and eliminate the need for Ashley to hand out more cash thereby having more influence.
More importantly, it would allow time for the coming Court case (s) to reach a verdict that should have a significant effect on the Share holdings. It will be interesting to see what connections (if any) exist between the White's, the Green's, the Easdales and quite possibly, Mike Ashley.
In summary, my feeling is that the best way forward seems to be :
Promote Ally and have the Fans re-unite in supporting the team financially.

From somebody who though he was a joke and everbody else who laughed at him OH for a wee man with a bunnet who will bring some respect to our once great club

Surprise, surprise Mr Rangers wants paying off the contract he never read to go, I suppose selling out the first time was difficult even for someone like him, but he's had 31/2 years practice now, looks like he learned more from Charles Green than Walter Smith.

Believable0 Unbelievable0

Spot on Smokey Bear. He wants paid off as per his contract. How does he know seeing as he never read it?

I thought there was a glimmer of dignity when I heard he had offered his resignation, but alas no.

Agree0 Disagree0

12 Dec 2014 17:02:20
Ally's announcement his offer of resignation may be good new. Unfortunately that's all it is "an offer " and a very clever one to for the following

1) ally offers to resign, fans are happy and he earns some respect back. He has done what all the fans wanted. He leaves (without comp) and earns more respect. Ally's a winner again in the fans eyes.
or
2) Ally knows the board can't afford his offer, therefore they are forced into not accepting the offer. Ally's a winner again as he will state in any interviews that he offered his resignation for the betterment of the club. Ally comes out looking the hero again

So before we all get excited and have picked the new management team, let's wait till this episode is over.

Very very clever move Ally but you won't fool me.

Believable0 Unbelievable0

Surely if you resign from a job you just leave don't you? You don't get compensation!

Agree0 Disagree0

All he did was give notice. a years notice. just like you or me only we only have to give a week or a month.

Agree0 Disagree0

No prejudice in your thinking then.

Agree0 Disagree0

Very clever ally, making sure you look good, but making sure you get full payment

Agree0 Disagree0

3& half years wage roughly equals 2.8 million if he's been on the 800,000 odd a year Unbelievable add on his penny shares he was given its mind blowing. Expect a good few contracts ended come the seasons end ( McCulloch, Black, Templeton, Moshni, Miller, Boyd&Shiels& zaluska. )In the Jan transfer young lewis be off along with Lee Wallace. There's still more I could mention, so whoever takes charge has 1 hell of a task. If had went with youth 3years on they would have gelled & improved ala hearts. God knows how many years it will take for a rangers team too play at a high standard & as for Europe about 5 or 6 years

Agree0 Disagree0

12 Dec 2014 16:16:14
i suspect who ever is in charge at our club asked mccoist to resign after seeing the falling gates and they will now expect the fans to pile back if this does happen then we will be back to square one we still have a big problem and that is the board themselves

Believable0 Unbelievable0

One thing at a time mate. At least this farce seems to be at an end, I read he will be in the dugout (or standing arms folded) tonight. Surely not?

Agree0 Disagree0

{Ed039's Note - Apparantly the team bus left at 3pm without him on it)

12 Dec 2014 19:07:55
one thing at a time but nothing will change if fans start turning back up again we have a half chance hear so we should take it with both hands and force change at boardroom level once the fans go back the board will be happy so they will stay

Agree0 Disagree0

12 Dec 2014 15:56:26
Not normal to resign the way he did sounds like a rammy with someone at rangers and he's told them to stick it, or perhaps personal reasons at home anyway I wish him the best he was not my ideal manager but who else would take the s*** that he has had to take, and some of the players must share the blame for his faillings as well as his poor decisions. let's hope whoever comes in will have us playing good flowing football and gets as back to the premiership

Believable0 Unbelievable0

It's one thing resigning but another it being accepted. Rumours are that the board won't accept his resignation as they can't afford his compensation. If true then it's another farcical episode to add to the others

Agree0 Disagree0

How can they not afford to pay him off. It would be paid over a 3. year installment.

Agree0 Disagree0

12 Dec 2014 16:40:59
my guess is with xmas part cancelled the money is really tight and Ally has been told to sell off mcleod Wallace and few others Ally has resigned knowing he is due a payoff the board are now in a quandry what to do and are not accepting his resignation it would all make sense

Agree0 Disagree0

12 Dec 2014 15:19:08
We all have our opinion on McCoist and I was one who wanted him to go but all the abuse and shocking msg is out of order. I hope he is remembered for holding the club together through the mess of the last few year. I agree he's not manager material but he gave it his best shot so from me thank you Ally McCoist. Hope others follow to thank a good Rangers man.

Believable0 Unbelievable0

You also need to remember that Ally has made a great living from Rangers too. He has been more than well paid for doing a very poor job. He didn't help his cause by claiming not to know how much he was on.

Agree0 Disagree0

How did he hold the club together?

By backing Craig Whyte, Charlie Green and all the others who have frankly turned our great club into a laughing stock?

Not to mention the tactically inept football displays of the past three and a bit years.

Agree0 Disagree0

12 Dec 2014 15:50:38
Well said sir the man tried his best in extremely difficult circumstances & in life that's all we can do but a word of caution to those who wanted him out, it will still be the same squad pretending to be players then we will see maybe just maybe that tactics wise that the failings of the players was not all down to ally. The best of luck in what ever you choose to do ally!
r. f

Agree0 Disagree0

My opinion on McCoist is well documented. I will remember him as the guy who drove me and thousands of others not to renew our STs. As for holding the club together, £800K a year for 3 years can buy a lot of glue, and "his best shot" since day 1 has not been good enough. A good Rangers man!! don't make me laugh! a good Ally McCoist man? now you are talking.

Agree0 Disagree0

12 Dec 2014 14:56:00
Remember this is just a offer by mccoist. He will want money whether it be wages, settlement, or they keep him for the 12 months remaining. They will also have to pay him hush money.

Believable0 Unbelievable0

A sad day but one coming. I'd say his players let him down.

As for " hush money ", no. We all want to buy his book! The truth will out at last.

Agree0 Disagree0

Have I got this right, McCoist wants his full compensation or he will continue in the post for another 12 months?

And he comes out with this on the night of a game we cannot afford to lose.

Agree0 Disagree0

He like rest would take the money and "shut up" just same as all the rest. after all its a lot of change to be getting.

Agree0 Disagree0

And there are still people who think he is a Rangers man!
You really would be hard pushed to find a more contemptible excuse for a Rangers man than McCoist, he is an absolute disgrace on every level, they should pay him off, just get him away from the club before he defiles it anymore.

Agree0 Disagree0

Naz, I actually think the announcement will galvanise the players and and I fully expect us to win by at least 5 goals!

Agree0 Disagree0

@2 no you haven't got it right

Agree0 Disagree0

How do you all know that Ally is holding out for money? Did your mates brothers pal tell you?

Agree0 Disagree0

12 Dec 2014 14:25:46
Is it just me but why announce this about Ally on the day of a game?

12 Dec 2014 14:20:21
McCoist has resigned! I really hope he leaves without a penny, that way I can go back to respecting a childhood hero!

Believable0 Unbelievable0

L agree he should get nothing, but l could never respect him again regardless of his goals, the damage he did personally to Rangers will take years to put right, quitting is the only decent thing he has done in 31/2 years and this was forced onto him so he doesn't even get credit there.

Agree0 Disagree0

I don't care, he's going! Celebrations!

Agree0 Disagree0

He didn't resign offered but not accepted. The payoff not affordable,,, i'd respect him a bit more if he walked without taking any more money, but I am led to believe that wasn't on the table. Parasite

Agree0 Disagree0

@3 ALLY, I'm with you, I'd have had some respect for him if he'd have just walked but that does not seem to be the case. He has been paid an exuberant salary for the job he has been doing (badly) so I can only assume it is greed.

If he stays, they will only need to open the dug outs to accommodate the crowd in the coming weeks!

Agree0 Disagree0

12 Dec 2014 13:57:02
I know that ally had his problems etc but looking around the place now there is no Rangers people left, only thing left is Ibrox

Believable0 Unbelievable0

What good did McCoist supposedly being a Rangers man do us? he played the worst football ever seen and bled the club dry with his own and his ridiculous signings wages, if that's what a Rangers man is we are better off without them. The REAL Rangers men like John Greigg walked long ago even McCoists mentor Walter Smith walked.

Agree0 Disagree0

At the end off the day if your told you have ex amount available for wages would you not spaarobend it? Its not all Allys fault ok his tactics baffled me sometimes but we got to look above him its the directors bleeding our club dry not Ally

PLEASE BE TRUE, reports are that McCoist has resigned. YES!!!!!!! A very happy day for all associated with the mighty Rangers, good riddance to bad rubbish, now let's hope he gets what's coming through his dealings with the crooks.

Believable0 Unbelievable0

Harsh words Smokey Bear. Many of us may be happy that he is standing down. but "good riddance to bad rubbish" is not necessary.

He should be thanked for his time as a player and his attempts to manage us through the most difficult time in our history.

12 Dec 2014 14:47:31
Odds on that they have agreed to sell McLeod.

Agree0 Disagree0

Stuart is it true you and bill tel have got the job lol

Agree0 Disagree0

Stuart64. I would agree on only football terms, he simply wasnt good enough. But knowing he wasn't good enough and staying for this long on that money is diabolical. I believe 100% that he was employed to blur the lines between the fans and the board to keep the ST/share money rolling in while they rolled it out the back door, because let's face it to say he was employed for his tactical or managerial knowledge is ridiculous.

Agree0 Disagree0

12 Dec 2014 13:45:38
Looks like he does do walking away after all.

Believable0 Unbelievable0

Nothing wrong with that. If u can't do the job there is no shame in holding your hands up admitting it and walking away

Tonight could see Mccoist under more pressure to keep his job as QOS away will be difficult match for us!
Then it's Livi at home followed by Hibs away. can't see Mccoist surviving December with us playing how we are.
Hope 2015 brings some new leadership to an absolutely ridiculous situation!

Believable0 Unbelievable0

12 Dec 2014 07:36:50
If the Spivs cash in on Lewis MacLeod in January, then it could be the final straw for many fans.

Crowds are already under 20,000. if we accept a low bid in January, then there will be less than 10,000 at most of the remaining home games.

With MacLeod away. average age of team will be about 30!

No pace, no creativity. long ball is Plan A, B & C!

Believable0 Unbelievable0

12 Dec 2014 08:15:36
This young boys career will be ruined by all this.

Agree0 Disagree0

Believe me, if we drop points tonight, the home gate will drop before any deal for lewis mcleod is ever done!!

Agree0 Disagree0

Stuart64, MacLeod, at best, will only tread water under the current regime. [ both financial and, more importantly, the football side of the business. ]
It would be in the lad's best interest to move on.
McCoist's latest comments on the youth set-up is a joke. He justifies everything by ''we would not have won the leagues with a team full of youths. ''
No fan expected that, all that we wanted were the boys to be given a chance to see if they 'had it'. Their opportunities were few and far between, and as such, they must look to their own future in the game, elsewhere. If McCoist stays much longer, any youth with any ability will move on, for their own good.
Just one question for him---- When the league was won, last season, why did he not blood some players then? My thoughts, there was money in it for him to go through the league unbeaten and something for his cv.
All the money and organisation in the world will not make us a team until he is gone.

Agree0 Disagree0

Ttally agree billyb!, we won those divisions by the proverbial country mile. The deluded one could quite easily have played youngsters with a couple of seasoned pros and still won both divs. The real problem is purely & simply his lack of coaching ability, his ego & greed!

Agree0 Disagree0

12 Dec 2014 13:30:06
I think u are clutching at straws regards McLeod. He's nowhere near the valuation being spoke about. U trying to tell me we would get 2 million for mcgregor whose played at higher level. I don't think so. Plus other clubs know u's are desperate. Do u honestly think he won't go for next to nothing. Big mike will get the cash. Filling his pockets.

Can I just say todays poll about telfer is wrong ally didn't let him go he was offered a new contract & knocked it back.
r. f

Believable0 Unbelievable0

Yes we did offer him a new contract however the boy left as Ally would not play him in 1st team (I'm sure it was documented that Ally told him this)
Telfer could be the next player to leave Dundee Utd for around £2M in the future with proper coaching.
