Hi fellow bears not posted for while and hope any ed's can help.

Some bears have a dislike of Danny Wilson but correct me if I'm wrong but was he not the hearts captain last year in a team that ran away with the league.

He not a big terry but surely he learning all the time from davie weir and MW.

In my humble opinion he is getting a game as management team obviously feel he has something and when we lift the league title he will be well prepared for the huge challenge that lies ahead so fellow bears let's not be to hard on Wilson but I totally respect we all have a view.

1966

For me Wilson is a player. I saw him a lot last year and he strolled through every single game (including those against us and excluding the 3-2 loss via Falkirk) . He is calmness personified - granted - against Championship teams.

The way Rangers play would make any CD look ropey but this guy is good.

12 Feb 2016 22:15:48
Iv posted before that I think he gets unfair stick. The lads a decent defender made look at times worse than he is by our tactics. He's in a foot race with the striker every punt up the park by opposition .

13 Feb 2016 08:22:25
I agree. I think the criticism he gets on here is unfair. The lad is only 24 and has already done enough in his career to play for us in the top flight and attract the attention of the premiership as well as his national team. I also agree that defenders in this team can get isolated purely by the style of football we play (not complaining about this) and Danny is not the quickest. Neither was Davie Weir but he countered his lack of pace through an uncanny knack of always being in the right place. And Danny is improving his positional sense with every game. My own father was a highly rated centre half from the fifties and he wasn't slow but I remember him saying on a right good few occasions that playing against rapid players was a real challenge if your team played in such a way that it sometimes didn't allow for adequate cover in behind a centre half. Rangers are often short in that department due to our attacking style of play. I wouldn't change it for the world but it often gives me palpitations. God knows how Messrs Wilson, Kiernan and Ball feel sometimes!

13 Feb 2016 09:14:47
I would much prefer Ambrose.

13 Feb 2016 09:57:19
SoI

Wrong site, I think that post was meant for Tinder.

13 Feb 2016 11:04:17
Wilson is slow, gets caught out of of position and is poor passer.
Last year Hearts played nobody including us, I hope Wilson can make the step up though.

13 Feb 2016 12:47:13
DEEB. Wilson can pass a baw better than pirlo.

13 Feb 2016 14:56:53
A think Wilson will go on to be a great player for us. People are still talking about our defence as if we're shipping goals. In my mind the problems have been fixed and the defence deserve a lot of credit for this, Wilson included.
I think the defence will only get stronger now and when we add a decent CDM we will be ready for the premiership. Crooks will probably do the job wae wee Murdoch backing him up hopefully.

13 Feb 2016 15:01:31
I agree his passing is not been good at all but a think he will come good for us well a hope.

12 Feb 2016 19:45:49
Chaps,
I keep reading loads of thinly veiled tweets about Rangers First but have no idea what is happening there.

Is there some sort of crisis that I'm not aware of?

Can anyone shed any light?

12 Feb 2016 20:10:17
Thinly veiled regarding what The Campbell?

12 Feb 2016 21:48:07
The campbell the only thing I've seen regards r. f. is a few of there members are not to pleased about an amalgamated support, ie all supporters become one group, but I also read there is more supporters voting for them all to join up under the one umbrella,

13 Feb 2016 11:05:23
What are the main reasons for not having a single group representing fans?

13 Feb 2016 14:58:13
Lack of consensus on several issues between the two groups.

12 Feb 2016 18:52:16
Is it maybe time for Durrant to step aside and let someone else run the U20's?
My thought are torn between Miller and McCulloch.
I understand some think development is more important than winning, but winning builds confidence and the two i've mentioned were always born winners
Just thinking out loud, i often do lol.

12 Feb 2016 19:23:12
I would like to see Neil McCann brought in for this.

12 Feb 2016 19:24:30
The players who show real character when the chips are down will move further up the ladder in the club and that's the best confidence builder you can get.

12 Feb 2016 19:32:31
Good point. Maybe both Miller and McCulloch.

12 Feb 2016 21:47:56
I agree with Gs 1990,if durrranty was to be changed as our under 20 coach and I'm not saying for a minute we should make a change just now then I'd much prefer neil mccann as our under 20 coach as opposed to either kenny miller or lee mcculloch, no contest as far as I'm concerned!

12 Feb 2016 21:57:19
4 defeats in a row.22 points adrift from celtic with a game more played. not good enough
. and copland 1 on loan players still turn out for under 20 games. this developement as opposed to winning is only bullshit to deny how badly the under 20's are actually doing.

12 Feb 2016 20:23:19
I agree wee bill. At under 16 level more emphasis is placed on development over results, but by U20 level they are pushing for the first team and are beyond this "winning isn't everything" stage. If its not about winning at U20 level then what's the point?

12 Feb 2016 21:51:40
Gs1990 I would also like to see niel McCann come to the club i'm sure he could improve players of all ages at our place, he has definetly got a footballing brain, IMHO.

12 Feb 2016 22:38:27
Neill McCanns future is probably in TV to take over gary neville.

13 Feb 2016 01:43:14
Wee bill if Durant isn't doing it for the 21s can't see Miller or McCulloch doing any better, IF Durantys days are numbered I'm sure MW would have a ready replacement.

13 Feb 2016 11:07:21
Brian-p
I think McParland (? ) will be tasked with sorting that out.

13 Feb 2016 15:01:18
Iv not watched them play - are they losing due to tactics or lack of quality?

Just guessing but haven't we missed out on getting best youngsters in over last few seasons due to the mess the club has been in and lack of youth development plans.

12 Feb 2016 16:36:23
I see the under 20s got beat again today, there must be serious doubts now about Durrants role as head coach. I appreciate that its not all about winning at that level but surely it can't help the young players confidence and development to keep losing every week. Ian Durrant is probably the best player Rangers have ever produced from within and I realise he is a club legend but perhaps working alongside Mccoist and picking up coaching tips from him isn't the best pedigree to have, he had a decent reputation at Kilmarnocks academy but seems to have gone backwards since teaming up with Ally. Time for a new under 20s coach anyone?

12 Feb 2016 20:20:07
Tough call to throw the wee man out the club personally a wouldn't like anyone else to show the young team a first touch and how to trap the ball, but maybe your right about ally link but you said it yourself decent reputation from Kilmarnock Warburton will bag him if not eventually up to scratch maybe the hat likes what he sees on the training ground?

12 Feb 2016 20:39:16
How many players are out on loan
Aird, Kelly, Walsh, Murdoch, Gasporotto is that why the results have been poor?

12 Feb 2016 21:06:59
We play a lot of 16 year old in our under 20's, a lot of other teams play senior players looking for fitness.

12 Feb 2016 17:54:57
I have to Dissagree with you. Please look at the bigger picture.
a loss in the U20's is nothing. Please concider players that could be playing in the u20's that arn't because they've progressed to the 1st team, or are out on loan.

Liam Kelly, Luca Gasperoto, Ryan Sinnamon, Robbie Crawford, Andy Murdoch, Tom Walsh, Ryan Hardie, Frazer Aird, Jordan Thompson.

the academy is doing fine just now, regardless of u20's results.

13 Feb 2016 10:44:16
I posted that we have so many players out on loan which could be the reason for the run of poor results in the u20s.
The players on loan need to play on a regular basis.
Look at Barrie Mackay now. In Warbs we trust.

13 Feb 2016 10:43:46
So how many have progressed to the first team? That'll be one, Barry Mckay and only after a few loan spells. And the rest are out on loan because they are not good enough. One loss in the U20s may be nothing but their form is atrocious. Do you think Durrant is saying "that's fine boys another humping, but you're developing well"?

12 Feb 2016 10:58:16
Presumably O'Halloran will start the game tomorrow so what are your thoughts on who should make way - perm any two from Ball, Law, Halliday and Holt? For me, Ball must play - I thought he was outstanding last week against Kilmarnock. Maybe Wilson should drop out and the team could be: Foderingham; Tavernier, Kiernan, Ball, Wilson; Halliday, Holt, O'Halloran; Waghorn, Shiels, Mackay.

12 Feb 2016 11:17:07
And no lee Wallace? Behave yourself.

12 Feb 2016 11:31:27
I think he wrote Wilson instead of Wallace by mistake lol
But seriously theirs no chance warburton will change the back 4 unless anyone's injured, we haven't lost a goal in 4 games, the good thing is we now have a good starting 11 with a very strong bench, competition for places in the team now, we haven't had that in a long time.

12 Feb 2016 11:35:19
Ball is not mobile enough to play in midfield keep halliday in cdm for know o'halleran on for Millar. Ball is alright in defence though.

12 Feb 2016 12:39:03
Gary, the idea of a holding mid isn't to be mobile, you're meant to be a rock in that position, someone who is of average pace and can out strength players, like what Ball can do. Miller will be dropped for O'Halloran. front 3 will be Mckay, Waghorn, O'Halloran.

12 Feb 2016 13:33:17
Foderingham, Tavernier, Kiernan, Wilson, Wallace, Halliday, Holt, O'Halloran, Mackay, Waghorn, Miller

I'd love to see Ball play instead of Wilson as I think Wilson has been our poorest player all season. However that will be the back 4.

12 Feb 2016 14:02:40
Don't ťhink OHall and Miller will play. It will be either or.

12 Feb 2016 16:23:27
MW will not change the back four as not as I am not so sure he would he would now where to start
he is to worried about clubs changing their pitch
or the size of the league or the start to the season
or it just seems to go on.

12 Feb 2016 16:26:38
Iv noticed on here that there's a lot of rangers fans that don't like Danny Wilson, everyone has their own views on players.

12 Feb 2016 16:56:33
Danny Wilson is a good player who is playing well in a back 4 who are getting better defensively every game. On the forward front I think Miller will be rested to keep him fresh for Tuesday and you might find that Billy King gets the nod too and McKay kept back for the same reason. That's two players who have been playing at a higher level coming in to freshen up our team keeping the others for Tuesday night.

12 Feb 2016 19:35:21
I am not convinced that MOH will start. More likely he will come on for last half hour.

What a pleasant change when we have a choice!

12 Feb 2016 19:44:55
Lee Wallace is already a legend stuck by the famous when it was all going wrong now he's captain hopefully won't ever leave looks just as good now as when he was playing 3rd div and will excel in spl top player never complains when gets halved in two by cloggers gets up and gets on with it what I expect from a TEDS captain will end up Scotlands skipper as well because the man has a class attitude.

12 Feb 2016 20:49:33
Foderingham

Tav Kiernan Wilson Wallace

Halliday Holt Law

Waghorn O Halloran Mackay.

12 Feb 2016 21:54:56
Doiger, for me if o'halloran does start against alloa tomorrow then it has to be for miller, halliday and holt are certain starters as far as I'm concerned.

12 Feb 2016 22:56:21
I would have both Holt and Miller on the bench as both will be needed against Killie and have a team of Fod, tav, Kieran, Wilson, Wallace, Law, Halliday, Ball, o'hall, Waggy, McKay.

13 Feb 2016 08:30:11
Might be better starting with King and OHAL as both are cup tied for Tuesday and could rest McKay and Miller/ Waggy but have them on the bench. Fod, Tav, Kiernan, Wilson, Wallace, Halliday, Holt, Ball/ Law, King, Waggy/ Miller, OHAL. i think whatever line up we put out will win easliy.
