Murty or kenny Miller to step up to the end of the season. Miller would be a wicked player/ manager. Murty to bring up the youth.

{Ed039's Note - fifaguy ....... you might want to get back playing FIFA mate, the ship needs steadying by someone with a know how and authority about themselves)

12 Feb 2017 23:10:18
Rangers will be lucky to finish 2nd next few seasons. Total disgrace to allow halliday a shirt. Sendros is dross. Dodoo who. Tav CNT defend. Wallace never a captain. Holt weak. Windass not Dean. Miller too old. Hill too old. Goalkeeper wants to be a DJ. Kiernon lol. Crooks lol. Forrester poor. The Moh so useless Neil mccann having to guide on live TV. Keep Wilson, miller, wags, Wallace, McKay. Bin the rest. Judge all you want.

13 Feb 2017 00:19:56
I'd say Wallace first team and wes in goal will be good enough next season as if we only get a small budget for new players wouldant waste it on a keeper just yet. those two aside we need 9 new players to make a total new first team for next season the likes of sendeross kiernen hill hodson Halliday holt dodo waghorn for me can all go would try cash in on mackay if possible. the rest will haft to play back ups and maybe filter them out season after. Would like to see miller get a new deal think he deserves it but will need to take a step back. but do think Rossiiter could become a good player for us if he is ever fit would be nice if we get in a quality strong holding midfielder to help him and teach him few things before he steps up to play week in week out. But there is a lot of work to do with this lot.

13 Feb 2017 00:34:50
I'll say it now. Senderos is the worst player EVER to pull on our famous jersey. never thought any player could be as bad as Ostenstadt but that performance today was embarrassing.

13 Feb 2017 08:41:34
Eric Bo

13 Feb 2017 08:48:46
Most of what you say is fine but Kenny Miller is outstanding

13 Feb 2017 22:07:03
This is my honest opinion and we're all entitled to our opinion on here, whether we agree with each other, or not! Billy davies would be my choice, hands down, to be the next rangers manager until the end of the season, at least! The wee man gets all this bad mouthing especially down in england, which of course is a myth! No one can back anything up on this! It's funny that any player that's played under him, rates him as an outstanding manager/ coach! Even all other manager's past and present rate him very highly!

I just wish people would look into this wee guy's achievements, in one of the hardest leagues out there, ie. the english championship! He has an incredible record with Preston, derby county and notts forest! For the doubters just check the facts why he parted company with forest in his 2nd spell there, before coming on here saying this and that! Its a myth because the wee man can stick up for himself! Nothing to be guilty about doing that! Get him into rangers now! that's my take anyway, and 2nd place will be guaranteed!

14 Feb 2017 03:33:16
Francis jeffers surely

12 Feb 2017 19:21:32
Don't no why people keep Saying they want Giovanni van Bronckhorst to come and manage us as much as it would be amazing if he did it just won't happen he started his career at feyenoord that's were he want to be so he won't leave his club for ours as much as he likes rangers he will always choose feyenoord over us

On frank de bore the only reason this is possible is because he is out of work if he still had a job he would never come here in the state we are in and to get him there must be serious investment made so he can buy his own squad

We are never going to get a big name manager or ex player who has experience managing unless it's a big step up of we're they are atm in there careers like Barry ferguson I don't think he is ready but he would jump at the chance as it's a step up from we're he is

Think mcliesh is probably the biggest name we will get and I would be ok if it was just till the end of the season but think it may be a full time Position

13 Feb 2017 08:42:47
What has big Ek dine since he left us
It's a step backwards

13 Feb 2017 21:49:41
There was talk at ibrox today amongst a good few supporters that john bomber brown and mark hateley will be appointed the new rangers management team until the end of the season. One of the guys actually tried to get a bet on john brown to become rangers caretaker manager but the bookies refused to give him a bet on brown. The guy also told us that this came from one of bombers daughter's boyfriend who the guy knows.

The boyfriend according to the guy said there's already been talks with rangers and brown with more talks planned for this week. Now don't shoot the messenger here, as i'm only passing on and sharing with you all, what i and another 3 of my mates were told at the cup game today.

12 Feb 2017 17:20:52
Good to see a sub that wasn't like for like and changing the system a little.

12 Feb 2017 17:11:54
Hands up, I thought Morton would get a result today and they never. Very nearly did though and we were not much better than them, which i'm not surprised by.

The clamour for McLeish is embarrassing, he was rightfully punted the first time and has been a failure at most jobs since Scotland. He couldn't even last a season in Egypt. Celtic have a really really good manager, and that is what we need. If we are going bargain basement, at least make it Tommy Wright.

12 Feb 2017 21:51:47
Thought big Eck did a decent enough job against a strong Celtic under O'Neill and he did take Birmingham into the top 10 of the EPL and beat Arsenal in a League Cup final.

He does seem to have lost his way though in recent years but I'd take him over Billy Davies any day of the week.

13 Feb 2017 18:36:33
Id prefer barry ferguson and mcinness as a team barry as coach and he would get the lads fighting for it going backwards is not the answer i'd even prefer hughes ti mcliesh

12 Feb 2017 17:11:39
Alex mcliesh wants a call from rangers.

12 Feb 2017 17:34:17
Please not Alex Mcleish, defensive boring outdated style of football, chased from his last few clubs. Let billy Davies have it for the remainder of the season to see if he can cope with it .

12 Feb 2017 22:33:36
Taking Billy Davies would be almost as bad as appointing Neil Lennon!

13 Feb 2017 08:09:55
Alex Mcleish defensive? this is a guy who won the league on goal diff against a Selik team that had that swedish guy that use to play for them who knew wer the nets wer

13 Feb 2017 18:31:57
McLeish to enlist Rae and McCann to assist with training and tactics.

12 Feb 2017 16:58:09
Waghorn was refreshing to watch today running at defenders and showing interest in getting forword.

12 Feb 2017 16:53:59
Loving this club is hard work.

12 Feb 2017 16:41:10
O'halloran as a footballer is so limited it's unreal. no football brain whatsoever totally murder! Cannot believe that people rate him.

12 Feb 2017 17:09:17
He looks limited because he's restricted in what he's allowed to do. He thrived at St Johnstone where he was given freedom to play.

12 Feb 2017 17:36:26
Yes you are probably right he is brilliant but keeps it hidden to please the manager

13 Feb 2017 20:06:12
If he was allowed to play through the middle like he did at St Johnstone I think we see would see the better side of him.

13 Feb 2017 21:19:57
McLeish will bring McCann in to provide tactical advise and encouragement to MOH.

12 Feb 2017 15:13:57
Looking at the current situation at Rangers we need to think big.
Frank de Boer would be a significant step forward. However no point bin DK and the board appointing FDB and giving him 250k to buy a goal keeper from down south as we have just done with MW.

We would need to have serious investment. We need 5 or 6 singings at a couple of million each + wages for 3-4 years this is the 30 million DK was talking about. combined with a network of contacts and scouting to pick up 2 or 3 players each couple of years that we can move on for 8 million as they have done over at London road.

I would also be keen to see a figurehead or chairman who is hands on day to day.
DK being in SA may be for tax reasons but Rangers need direction on the ground at Ibrox.

12 Feb 2017 15:34:21
I agree and disagree with you JFGRFC. why is everyone shouting for RDB? Yeah big name but that was his football career. A manager he is still to show what he can do. But I bet if RDB came in first thing he would do is look at Ajax. It would be advocat all over all Dutch players. We need home grown good Scottish players not just for our team but our national team too.

12 Feb 2017 16:13:52
I'd rather have Ajax players than Brentford players

12 Feb 2017 17:30:15
1. D boer won 4 in a row as Ajax manager
2. Maybe he would finally sort the youth system
3. He would play the youth if they r good enough
4. He would have a ready made scouting network of affordable talent

As a balance to these points I recon he's out of our league I fear

12 Feb 2017 17:50:37
De boer would be just the same as Warburton trying to implement a system which doesent work with our current players and with no transfer window open and also no funds when it does open how is he going to make the same players better in the same system it can't happen rangers need to scrap 4-3-3 IT DOESN'T WORK WITH OUR SQUAD worked last season but for FS we need a change of system whos the man to change there's a few candidates but de boer is not will its will be stubborn 4-3-3 and barking out possession stats and chances made when it doesn't work cause we don't have the squad to make it work

12 Feb 2017 18:43:14
How many players did warbs sign to play 433 that just don't suit the formation, our 3 best players were already at the club

12 Feb 2017 19:08:00
FDB is pretty unlikely to come to Rangers. He is waiting on a club in the English Premiership. Him and Koeman were both put forward for the Everton job by the same agent. Koeman sacked his agent because he wasn't happy that his agent put both forward but he ended up getting the job based on his previous experience in the premiership. Frank is biding his time for 'decent' club in England, that is, one who has money to invest in players.

RDB on the other hand is still at Ajax and is still assistant manager with the youth setup. He hasn't had a crack at managing yet but is interested in managing at some point. He could be interested, but again it has to be on his terms. The stopping point for him is he has a young family and his wife would not be keen on a move to Scotland.

I spoke to RDB a couple of weeks ago and I asked him about Warburtons tactics. He said that if the system isn't working that its common sense to change it. He said he liked the way MW worked but didn't understand him not changing things. So I think he would change from 433 if needed.

Giovani Van Bronkhurst on the other hand is enjoying his time managing but may be interested in a fresh challenge. I've not met him over here in Holland but again RDB said that he 'might' be interested in the Rangers job also.

12 Feb 2017 20:49:27
I think RDB is the way forward: good system from academy up, mix of British an Dutch boys and pros.

12 Feb 2017 21:15:25
brunkenbastard-sure glad your post is on the banter page, never heard so much claptrap in my life

12 Feb 2017 23:46:06
Why is it claptrap Trueblue? I speak to Ronald every couple of weeks as I teach his kids to swim. Most of the time his wife brings them, but he tries to get there when he can. Our kids go to the same nursery and he also lives about 400 metres from me in Amsterdam so I see him at our local park with our kids. he's in the pool with his two daughters and we often have a chat about Rangers etc as he still follows what's going on.

13 Feb 2017 15:51:43
IT won't be de boer, to get him in the board would need to give him a proper transfer budget, and we can't do that anymore, I fancy a director of football at gers next season, someone that does the same kind of job as Craig lav at hearts, but I don't know who we will get as coach, I'm a bit gutted murthy hasn't changed formation, you wouldn't really warburton is gone.

12 Feb 2017 15:02:41
After hearing what Murty said in his pre match conference. I say give him the job till the end of the season see what he can do. He knows the young guys under 20's he might bring a few up and play them. Remember Chelsea intrem manager winning the champions league.

All this said before kick off tho. 5-1 gers I predict.

12 Feb 2017 15:10:48
Still think he should get the job? 4 min and 1 down.

Why would we give someone a job because of a pre match interview?

12 Feb 2017 15:20:01
Not just his interview. He knows the young boys and what they can do. People on here always shouting for the young players he might be that guy to bring them up! That's my case.

12 Feb 2017 21:53:58
Sry, came across ok, but anyone in his first game selects Halliday and Holt in midfield is a no no. eg. every time the ball reaches halliday i cr. p waiting on the the counter attack with us short at the back when he loses the ball

12 Feb 2017 14:29:14
Let's get behind the boys today from the start. Kenny Miller 1st goals scorer and us to win 4-0 😎.

12 Feb 2017 14:42:42
I see that we are still playing 4 - 3- 3, and lo and behold Halliday is back in the team! The more things change the more they stay the same. It will be interesting to see how young Murdoch plays today for Morton, have to believe that he would have been a better option in the holding midfield role than Halliday!

12 Feb 2017 15:11:53
I know TOMUSA, Murty obviously doesn't have the bottle to make too many changes.

12 Feb 2017 17:45:54
Unbelievable nutty has been in charge for less than a day and has not totally revamped our playing style, why didn't he make big changes lose the game and look like complete arse, pretty much what donusa would have done

12 Feb 2017 18:05:52
Andy Halliday is murder he is as slow as the wife's bad week. Looks like he is knackered after haf an hour and don't get me started on his passing.

12 Feb 2017 14:14:16
I'd take big eck till the end of the season and buy us some time to actually find some one who can take us forward. We need stability and desire. Big eck would be a good director of football with a younger manager who has ideas. Otherwise we are only going backwards.

12 Feb 2017
The real time live chat page is open for today's Rangers match at the below link for you to talk to each other during the match

12 Feb 2017 13:35:37
I assume our youth polices regarding them playing against older professionals and playing 4-3-3 throughout every youth level will be scrapped now aswell that MW is away?

12 Feb 2017 16:31:02
Why would you assume that? Absolute tosh!

12 Feb 2017 12:32:21
Dont understand why everyone wants de boer is well known that he is very stubborn with his 4-3-3 formation its clear to everyone that this formation is just not cutting it for us this season worked well last season but we need to scrap the 4-3-3 and am afraid if de boer comes in he will always play a 4-3-3

12 Feb 2017 12:55:15
Id like to see michael o neil NI boss in he has certainly shown he can make a team play to the best of there ability

12 Feb 2017 13:06:57
I'm pretty confident 4-3-3 would work if the right players were in place. Warburtons recruitment was shocking and that's the reason the formation wasn't successful.

12 Feb 2017 13:19:03
I think when you have guys with the pedigree of Ronald and Frank players would respond better and they would be able to implement it better

12 Feb 2017 13:26:41
We need quality players for a stubborn 4-3-3 to work wich we will not get cause were skint and more importantly the transfer window is closed so why on earth would we want manager who will stick with a foemation that doesn't work with the players who will be at his disposal fed up hearing how we had this amount of possession and dominated this team but bottom line is 4-3-3 dosent work and never will cause we won't be able to attract the players needed for ut to work so its a definitely no for frank de boer as we will be back to square one loads of possession in games and doing hew haw with it

12 Feb 2017 13:27:21
I agree j1985, but it is essential that you have a good dm, supported by football playing, hard working midfielders doing the hard graft. Also, an attacking midfielder that is creative and threatening.

12 Feb 2017 14:22:41
I don't think formation is the issue more the lack of quality plyer filling the main postions in the r33

12 Feb 2017 14:40:52
For me, it's a concern that we've spent 2/ 3 of our war chest and we're still pants.

I'd be happy if DK spent the remainder on a top class manager who can work a bit of magic with what he has to play with - and attract some talent when we eventually have some cash.

Come to think of it, I'd be happy with a win v Morton.

12 Feb 2017 20:46:38
@Billyb, think we have a player in Rossiter if he ever gets fit. Halliday is struggling massively at DM and Rossiter is the only player at the club I can see playing that position as Barton is long gone and Crooks is a total unknown and away out on loan anyway.

I reckon Mckay would be absolutely phenomenal playing central, hopefully our new manager gives him a try there, I'd even like to see 2 sitting midfielders behind Mckay in a 4-3-3 (Rossiter and another) . Literally believe the right manager bringing in a defensive midfielder, commanding centre half, consistent winger and long term replacement for Miller at centre forward would see a massive improvement next season.

12 Feb 2017 12:11:03
Dont think the boy gilmour is ready to be in a first team squad maybe, but its refreshing to see greame murty having the balls to make that sort of call!

12 Feb 2017 13:06:47
Gikmour in the squad today?

12 Feb 2017 13:11:44
If he's good enough then why not. Our current squad isn't good enough to deny a talented youngster like Gilmour an opportunity. Hope the young lad gets a run out at some point.

12 Feb 2017 12:01:41
Posted a few days ago about the Rossiter injury and seemed to get a lot of disagrees. I'm not always full of shite :)

12 Feb 2017 12:08:47
Aye its good to hear what's going on atleast and hopefully the team down at st Georges can get to the bottom of it and along with niko that will be like two new signings for the start of pre season! The two players I was looking forward to watch this season, hopefully come back strong

12 Feb 2017 14:50:09
Agree with Nic_861, hope they find the real problem which stems from a back problem that MW never spoke about. All he said it was a calf issue.

12 Feb 2017 11:04:29
Hi guys, just a suggestion here but what about giving Ryan Giggs a try?

12 Feb 2017 11:40:21
I think we are beyond giving people a 'try'

We need tried and tested people in, not someone whos liable to pump kenny millers bird

12 Feb 2017 11:41:17
I think we really have to make the right decision now that Celtic are disappearing over the horizon. To me, it has to be someone tried and tested already. I know in the past I mentioned Cathro, maybe if he had been given the job when we were in the 2nd Div, where you could and should take risks, although he was probably still at school then.

12 Feb 2017 11:02:45
Thoughts on team selection this afternoon? Will there be changes all over the park? Will we see a new formation? Or will it be a similar 11 to even last week?
I'd like to see Fod, Tav, Clint, Wilson, Wallace, Halliday, Hyndman, Toral, O'Halloran, McKay and Miller - A strong attack minded team to send out a positive message at home - Onwards and upwards.

12 Feb 2017 13:10:20
hats there to disagree with? I did ask 4 questions - you all want changes but nobody says a thing?

12 Feb 2017 13:40:27
Why bring back Halliday, he has been totally and utterly useless and was one of Warburton's 'favourites'. I would go with two up front, no Halliday in the team. We should be going out to attack Morton from the start. If we can't win this game with goals to spare this bunch should be following Warburton and Weir out the door.

12 Feb 2017 14:29:56
tom I know halliday is useless but we still have the same players so i'd like to see 4 in the middle with Hyndman and ohalloran supporting miller and mckay up front - but I'm all for giving windass and bates an opportunity today

13 Feb 2017 11:22:27
No team with tavernier are haliday is strong.

12 Feb 2017 10:47:37
While all the focus is on a new manager we need to remember that we have lost our head of recruitment as well
This needs to be a good appointment as well
I thought McParland was going to be great but a lot of what he brought in have been poor so far
We need a good system that covers outwith the uk.

12 Feb 2017 13:17:44
I think me at right back with Only show in midfield and Supercooper 11 up front would be a good start.

12 Feb 2017 10:34:31
All the fans that are slating MW now we're singing his name at every game not 12 months ago, magic hat etc. other than his stubourness to change from plan A and stick with under performing players he has laid down a blueprint with our youth development and brought some structure to the club on the playing front. If anything he has done us good there if not with the first team. The big question I ask myself is if he had been given the money to buy who he wanted would we be in a better position. I think so. King and the board are to blame for as much as MW for different reasons. The American who wanted to buy rangers prior to king and co would have been a better option IMO.

12 Feb 2017 15:08:22
Nonsense!

Warburton has given Rangers nothing in the grand scheme of things. He got us out of the Championship, so could have McCall.

13 Feb 2017 12:16:46
According to DK Statement he was not only given budget but more over and above.
All the players he suggested were brought in, the fault does not lie with the broad It lies with Head of Recruitment and the Manager that chose the players.
As an aside Joey Barton now playing every week at a higher level and acquitting himself well. So was it Dave King or MW that couldn't manage and get best out of JB?

12 Feb 2017 10:17:37
If Warburton and Weir were hawking themselves around other clubs looking for a new job then they deserve to go. Not exactly loyal behaviour. I'd like to see someone steady the ship until the end of the season (McLeish maybe? ) and then get Frank de Boer in during the summer. Perhaps investment will come from Red Bull or how about a controversial idea - would it be disastrous if Mike Ashley were to take control of the club an oust King and co? Just a thought!

12 Feb 2017 12:02:38
I agreed with everything except mike ashleigh taking control! That would be a disaster also i beleive he isn't allowed a controlling stake because he owns newcastle

12 Feb 2017 10:06:20
In my opinion we are wasting our time looking at any current Scottish managers. None are capable of taking us to a higher level. If we are serious about competing with celtic and Europe we need a respected experienced manager. Someone who is up for a challenge with 20 million to spend. If we don't celtic will dominate for at least another 3-4yr
Come on King let's show us you mean business.

12 Feb 2017 10:04:44
I see the DR have the club self imploding and letting supporters down again. right yar. away back into the hole u crawled out of. It's time for Warbs to walk. End of.

12 Feb 2017 10:16:52
I hate the DR, but there is truth to that story. Rangers are imploding, again. Your chairman let's you down consistantly, your Management team have stabbed you in the back and your squad, well the less said about them the better. So what exactly is it that is irking you about this story, too much truth in it? .

12 Feb 2017 10:24:58
Could be worse, could be davie provan doing another hatchet job in the sun saying how ranger have treated mike ashley badly haha and that he's the man to put money n the club what a joke, papers up here are a joke

12 Feb 2017 11:23:04
The Sunday Post is just as bad if you read the columns by Kenny Dalglish and Alan Brazil - the well-known Rangers hater. Brazil thinks Warburton should have stayed and has been treated badly. Aye, right!

12 Feb 2017 11:23:53
Bhampot. Correct. The truth hurts - especially when it comes from the Daily Ranger / Daily Rebel (delete as appropriate) .

12 Feb 2017 09:50:05
Not posted for a while guys, l have been watching the on going situation with disbelief, l think the time for a change was inevitable, l liked Warburtons philosophy but he did not seem to accept that when things were not going to plan you need to mix it up a bit, get in the opposition's faces sometimes. Having trouble with the scenarios though, l cannot see the board going down this road if they don't have the evidence to back it up, it is clear the club are not going to tell the three of them to just come back and carry on. It appears Mr Warburton is looking for a pay off. No one can have it both ways, l want to leave if l get a new job, if l don't I'll stay!
We need a reaction today lads.

12 Feb 2017 09:21:25
So Dave kings spent £18M on a season and half.
Leaves £12M for rest of this season
And first half next season.
Then wells run dry, major investment required just for clubs stability, before you evav think about a challenge to Celtic

12 Feb 2017 08:48:22
What about Craig brown?
Wouldn't cost much as he's on the state pension, and could get to ibrox with his free bus pass.

12 Feb 2017 09:34:58
The rangers job would automatically mean he's looses his pension credits. Unless he could take it on on a part time basis.

12 Feb 2017 08:42:42
Do the trio have a good chance of winning compensation. The legal argument is going to revolve around whether and agent can in effect resign for the clients they represent. The trio did not resign directly and I quote DK "At a meeting with the management team's representative earlier this week the Club were advised that Mr Warburton, Mr Weir and Mr McParland wished to resign their positions and leave the Club ". If we have an employment law expert on line that can give us the answer then this could be cleared up.

12 Feb 2017 08:55:29
It's basic law that an agent (MW's agent for example) has authority to take such actions on behalf on their principal (MW) . I think the law will revolve around the agreement and whether or not the board accepted the initial agreement before MW's agent rescinded the offer. Usually, footballers'/ managers' agents aren't as well clued up on these things as club's lawyers and I think it looks like the board have played an absolute blinder.

12 Feb 2017 10:15:47
Not a lawyer by any means but I do know that a resignation is only valid when presented in writing and signed by the person who is resigning .

12 Feb 2017 11:16:16
Not true. Whilst better for the employer to have it writing, it doesn't have to be.

It's never black and white (unless it's in writing) but it will depend on who said what, what was verbally agreed, who witnessed, was it minuted, etc.

In summary - a resignation does not have to be written.

12 Feb 2017 12:48:40
Bruised bear surely a resignation without being on paper is just a conversation?

12 Feb 2017 13:44:44
So all of a sudden the Rangers board are business geniuses beyond comparison with their wheeling and dealings with Dr Dough and Captain Davie.
Can't wait for the next instalment

F. No, there is such a thing as a verbal resignation. Not as watertight as a written one but as per my earlier reply it does exist and can be as valid as a written one.

Looking at the statement from the board the new appointment needs to be a statement in itself
If we are to seriously challenge for the title in the next couple of years we need someone who can make a serious difference
That mob did it by taking in Rodgers and they have a decent scouting system
I personally think we can cut the gap considerably just by getting the best out of this group
I wouldn't mind an interim gaffer until the summer as I can't see any really good quality out there just now apart from De Boer so it might be worth waiting
In that time we might manage to get the Ashley carry on sorted as well
I really liked Warburton and Weir but the more I think about it this could and should be a good move for us as long as we get the next appointment right.

Why are people mentioning Pardew? I personally would not want him at rangers. Judging by his controversial history, he is not Rangers material, let alone the wage he would demand. I believe McCleish would be ideal to steady the ship just now, with the experience he has in Scotland and the fact he knows what it means to be manager of one of the biggest clubs in Europe. However, he is not the long term solution. What we need is a manager that is capable of bringing in the right kind of players on a budget, players that will gain us revenue should we sell them on, and someone that understands how big the Rangers institution actually is. And for me, Mcinnes is the man. He has built a squad from a lot less than ours is worth, and fair enough, his football style is not always pretty, but neither was Smiths at times, but 3 points is 3 points. He knows the club and the fans. He knows the leauge. Does not have the greatest record against them, but he will have atleast a bit of better resources with us. Surely i am not the only one that thinks he would be ideal for the job?

Still don't know if a trust Dave king because he did say funds would b available. to strengthen and mibee warbs and weir had enough of lies.2 sides to every story

12 Feb 2017 02:43:33
Warbs wanted to do a runner to prove himself at Nottingham forest. He would of had a goob side and a nice transfer budget. Also he wouldn't be under so much pressure there, he couldn't handle the heat. Good riddance.

Warburton had money mate. The board backed him when he was signing all these lads such as Dodoo, Crooks, Windass and Rossiter for development fees, plus a nominal fee for Hodson and over a million and a half on Garner. Not a bad transfer kitty IMO. For all the stick DK and the rest of the board get, after the first half of the season and the impact his new signing made to our team I wouldn't trust him with anything more money.

12 Feb 2017 10:20:27
I think the next year will tell us a lot about Dave King
If I was in his position I would have been a bit apprehensive to put a lot more money Warburtons transfer kitty as very few of his summer signings have been hitting top form
He has backed him in signing plenty players including Barton and Niko who are top names
I think his signings, tactics let him down and things were not helped by how stubborn he was with tactics and sticking with out of form players
Onwards and upwards chaps

If we get FdB it will say much more about him than DK.

Wishful thinking that he would come to Scotland but I can't see it happening. poor football, no money, crap weather, goldfish bowl to live in!

He will be in Spain, Italy or England next season. no matter what DK offers him

13 Feb 2017 08:08:23
Surely Forest are in a position financially to take Warbs and pay the compensation? Why has this turned into a saga why was this not a straight forward transfer. I don't know how Warbs AND Weir can take us to court when he already talked to Forest!

I hope he gets the Forest job as this would prob help us I think in a court battle. Still don't understand how this situation has turned into an impending court battle, its straight forward a club wants another clubs manager asks to talk to him with the understanding a compensation fee would be triggered I also think that this would have pleased King as it already looked like Warbs was going therefore Forest comin in would spare us having to pay Warbs and Weir off! Is it just me or is there a line of people just waiting to take us to court?

We signed like 10 players. They cost money.

Dust seems to be settling a little.

Say what you like about Dave King but he has done what he should have with management, has finally released a statement and has addressed some pertinent questions that have been frequently asked.

With regard to the 30million "warchest":

He says 18million has been spent so far, I can see that to be fair.

He goes on to say that he expects to spend over the 30million he originally promised to get us competitive in Europe etc.

It's just my opinion and I know how many feel about the man, however he has kept us going (be that by encouraging investment or dipping into his own) and seems to be sticking with a plan.

With regard to Warburton:

He explained the situation quite clearly, (as you will have read) that the management tried to jump ship, situation changed for them last minute and our board gave them the push.

With that being the case, I appreciate the boards actions and I am hopeful of a fresh start with better results and happier players who can perform consistently!

Hopefully we can kick on with a good result today 👍.

12 Feb 2017 01:38:45
Whoever takes over as manager is going to have to work with the players we have, they are on contracts and unless any club wants to sign them they will remain at Rangers, can we afford to offload them if the new manager does not think they've good enough We are right back to the begining again, looking for a new manager, scouting system, and investment.

13 Feb 2017 09:39:18
I'm a huge Souness fan will never forget what he did for our club he came in and dragged us kicking and screaming to the championship but I think he has his problems with his health and can not see him taking on the pressure of managing Rangers at least I hope not he's done his bit and I thank him for that
