I was in in Gordon Strachan's company last night at a corporate do. He was getting questioned about squad selections and was being dug up by an Aberdeen fan about not picking the boy Shinnie. He said "why would I pick any left back when I've got Kieran Tierney". No further questions although I did pass on that Wallace had scored a belter. Gutted I missed the game but another 3 great points in the bag. Almost there now.

12 Mar 2016 21:46:15
Being totally frank and honest here when i say I honestly couldn't care less what gordon strachan thinks, quite simply our left fullback lee wallace is better than both kieran tierney and graeme shinnie and most honest and sensible football fans know this to be true! I can't understand wee chesney's logic here and I'm a 'gers fan who has always supported my country, I would go as far as saying I'm a passionate scotland fan, I love my country!

13 Mar 2016 02:25:58
Strachan is a dead man walking less than 2 years and he will be gone. Another failure on his CV.

13 Mar 2016 08:17:27
Im a passionate supporter of the scotland team as well but for a while now it's making me wonder why not only half of there team is in it but players like hutton and players that hardly get a game down south are in it, i noticed mackay is in the under 20s squad so surely a couple of friendlies is the perfect time to get him up a level same as wallace, tbh i'd also of involved cummings with the older squad, i think once we are back in the top league if things don't change then i'd really start to worry, i'd prefer to see the squad flooded with younger players looking to the future.

13 Mar 2016 09:01:09
See strachan in paper today moaning about the dwindling pool of talent he has to pick from. ****hole! the amount of talented players he left out of the squads is unreal, I'm not just talking about our players, to name to prolific goal scorers in the English championship. Rhodes and McCormack. need I say more, strachan 100% ballbag.

13 Mar 2016 09:32:33
Spot on stmonkeyRFC, these friendlies coming up for scotland would have been the ideal time to have picked in form barrie mckay for the senior team instead of the under 21's, after all strachan has picked john mcginn who is also plying his trade in the championship with hibs so he can't use the lower league excuse anymore, barrie mckay has also been better than mcginn this season and IS a better player than mcginn! Barrie mckay has been tremendous for rangers this season and will only get better and better!

13 Mar 2016 20:10:35
Weve got the best Defence in Scottish Football i'm sure going with stats, so Lee Wallace should have been picked well before Tierny, Awell its Strachan were talkin about though, he doesn't have a clue what he's doing, mon eh gers

12 Mar 2016 19:18:19
Watching the cup game between Everton and Chelsea, lukaku is very strong on the ball and by the looks of it Diego Costa isn't getting fed! Had a little nibble at Barry's neck?

12 Mar 2016 16:54:13
Warburton to Middlesbrough rumours be flying about soon after karanka is set to leave.

12 Mar 2016 23:30:53
Really?

13 Mar 2016 10:19:16
Absolutely no chance he an honourable man and will at least see out his contract if not longer.

12 Mar 2016 16:45:30
A special mention to our tremendous, evergreen (pardon the pun) striker kenny miller, he has turned back the clock with his magnificent last 2 rangers performances against dundee last week and morton last night! Kenny is a credit to his profession at his tender age of almost 37,our no.9 is in terrific shape and is a total professional who looks after himself, the perfect role model for our young squad! He deserves his one year extension and a shot at the premiership next season, you can't have enough of these invaluable, experienced players for when we go up, kenny miller is a true pro, his 2 finishes against morton last night were brilliant and for any inspiring young striker coming through our ranks worth having a good look at!

12 Mar 2016 17:11:04
WTF: He's looking good for another old firm goal in the semis😀.

12 Mar 2016 17:27:42
He has huge Old Firm experience and habit of scoring would not be surprised to see him lead attack AND score in win against Scotland's 3rd best team . Sheep look like beating them in league as celtic have 3 hard away matches and hearts at the park before having to face us pressure on them not Sheep they will bottle it

Only downside they will sack the brilliant RD which will be a shame as he is our 12th man next year if he is in charge.

12 Mar 2016 22:57:33
He still is Kenny Miller will miss sitters as he did against Morton.

12 Mar 2016 14:39:27
Apologies if someone's alright brought this point up but I think the semi final truly is a win win for us. If we win well we're in the final. If we lose Ronnie stays in a job.

12 Mar 2016 17:46:57
Agree 100 percent. Well out his depth. 5 or 6 good signings and we wil see him off.

12 Mar 2016 17:49:53
Wen Delilah goes what about big bad john and Benjamin button as joint managers n see WER ther big mouths get them.

12 Mar 2016 18:20:04
Sorry i understand what you are saying but an old firm is never a win win situation just my opinion of course.

12 Mar 2016 18:45:42
Wasn't the last time anyway! Hopefully people will put bottles in the bin and show some respect for one another this time.

12 Mar 2016 23:47:23
I honestly think we'll beat celtic btw, but if worst comes to the worst and we get beat, i really do still think Ronnie Delia is out of a job anyway.

13 Mar 2016 09:54:43
So the majority on here think Scotland's champions are a terrible team and Ronnie is an even worse manager than salary mccoist, but you would find it acceptable to get beaten by us? Just like ally, talk about having your cake AND eating it .

13 Mar 2016 12:28:00
Precious - I don't see many bears saying that McCoist was a better manager than Delia. We know Ally was the pits but we also know Warbs can motivate players better then Delia, is more tactically astute and also has a far better eye for a player.

Or do you think if he had the money Warbs would have wasted it on has been duds like Carlton Cole, or spent over a million on players like Nadir Ciftci?

Still maybe you can look on the bright side at Celtic's progress . only been pumped out of Europe twice this season instead of three times like last season.

13 Mar 2016 14:46:19
Naz so again I ask if Ronnie is sooo bad and the Celtic team so rotten , why would the op or any rangers fan find it acceptable to get beat by us?

12 Mar 2016 12:01:00
Can't help but think all this negativity towards our players from ex celtic players in the media, and the snub from Strachan will be all the catalyst we need to win all our remaining games, including the semi final. Look how the mind games turned out for Stubbs.
As for Strachan, we know he can't make a selection. Did any of you's see the leather jacket he was wearing as a pundit at the World Cup, there was a national outcry 😂😂.

12 Mar 2016 12:58:28
You forgot about the euros, Wimbledon and the open golf championship as well 😁. Funny how none of the Celtic fans seem to be bothered about, john brown, bazza Ferguson, Michael mols, Derek Johnston, Alex Rae, and the rest of the ex sevco crew who are tipping rangers to win .

12 Mar 2016 13:25:39
Maybe it is because all of these guys treat the opposition with respect. A little different from Sutton and Harston who are just bitter bum cheeks attached to the same arse. Simple really.

12 Mar 2016 15:52:29
I think you'll find Sutton and Hartson spend as much, if not more, slating Celtic.

Barry Ferguson and John Brown respectful? With that, this conversation has officially entered "comical" territory.

12 Mar 2016 13:26:10
Don't think there ever was a 'sevco' crew.

12 Mar 2016 15:55:56
Or maybe it's because normal fans expect the opposition's ex players to come out in support of there ex club . Is one of your current players coming out and saying rangers are going to SMASH Celtic the type of respect your talking about?

12 Mar 2016 16:02:15
Can I ask u something, what the hell has a leather jacket got to do with anything, I'm glad no rangers got picked, less chance of injuries but I feel sorry for the players themselves as the well and truly deserve a call up.

12 Mar 2016 16:14:38
Serious question Delboy, who do you think should have had a call up from Rangers?

12 Mar 2016 16:37:07
Who really cares what ex footballers are saying in the papers?

They want to be controversial, arrogant, biased and seem ignorant because it will make people tell other people who then will want to read what has been said.

We shouldn't give a toss about what is said anyway because it's all going the right direction for Rangers.

12 Mar 2016 20:18:24
It's called banter Delboy, the sole reason i'm on this part of the site.

12 Mar 2016 18:34:21
Rafbob im with you on this one mate, hartson said last season celtic would win the treble as they would never lose another game, suttton and hartson are two fallball player that have never got over helicopter sunday, both very bitter because of that day imo, and they unlike the helicopter will never change direction. lol.

12 Mar 2016 21:37:40
Daveyt, that's exactly it for that pair of numpties. Stuck in the past.

13 Mar 2016 12:06:48
Wee Oduwa is just very confident that we will smash Celtic, Smash, Beat, Defeat, Dismantle, Surely no disrespect by sayin those eh

13 Mar 2016 12:25:19
Aye right if Sutton or hartson said Celtic were going to SMASH rangers, you lot would be wringing your panties out .

14 Mar 2016 00:43:21
By pishin maself laughin.

12 Mar 2016 09:48:14
Just as well we didn't get Allan as he would have been cup-tied for the Petrofac.

12 Mar 2016 16:02:54
Nice post lmas.

12 Mar 2016 10:03:14
Well well well John (fat man) hartson reckons rangers need a miracle well fat man I believe in miracles onwards and upwards John keep ronny boy for another season.

12 Mar 2016 13:27:41
I think he's still bitter we didn't sign him all those years ago. Apparently he couldn't get his arse through the doorway leading into the medical room.

12 Mar 2016 22:07:20
The special one, so your also saying rangers need a miracle?

12 Mar 2016 09:43:07
Ronnie Delia says that he has better players at his disposal than Mark Warburton and I probably agree. Therefore, if Celtic do not beat Rangers whose fault is it, it must be the man who picks the team and organises the tactics ie Ronnie himself. Talk about a turkey voting for Christmas.

The whole Celtic game is just a distraction from what will be a great season for the Rangers regardless of the score at Hampden.

I personally can't wait to see which players are brought in during the summer.

It will be nice to wave to Dundee United on our way passed them and hopefully, the Staggies can win tomorrow.

12 Mar 2016 13:30:42
Lovely to see the feeder team losing again last night. Running out of games Thompson. Enjoy the lower leagues, we did. Maybe see you in the cups. Promise to give you a right good tonking if we do.

12 Mar 2016 15:55:53
Bigbaloobear - do you think you have better players than Hibs, Falkirk, St Johnstone etc? I guess Warburton should go?

12 Mar 2016 16:46:40
Patient. WTF has that statement to do with anything? We are umpteen points ahead of both Falkirk and Hibs and we've just signed St J's best player. You go figure.

12 Mar 2016 16:48:16
The poetic.

At no time has Warburton had the arrogance or disrespect to state that Rangers have better players than any other team. The man is class and does not instigate disrespectful diatribes. So your logic escapes me.

12 Mar 2016 16:52:56
The statement has plenty to do with Bigbaloobear's original post, which is why I addressed it to him.

Read it back. Once. Twice. However many times it takes you.

You're welcome.

12 Mar 2016 16:57:12
Bigbaloobear, I'll take your word for it that Warburton has never said anything about his team's superior quality. But, by your rationale, your entire point about a stronger team being defeated -- and it being the managers fault -- only applies if the manager admits he has better players. Interesting.

12 Mar 2016 18:33:57
No it only applies if the manager claims that he has better players.

12 Mar 2016 18:58:31
Which is what I said.

12 Mar 2016 09:02:19
I'm not going to get into what he says but the players should be putting john fatsons column from today's current bun on the wall before the celik game. The guy is a fud.

12 Mar 2016 09:17:35
Agree but also think all there doing is putting big pressure on them, there players walk into the old firm expecting to win without turning up they are in for a major shock, all there ex players have done is criticise there manager and team most of the season now supposedly there going to walk the old firm, might be a bit of psychological games there, we know we are playing well and tbh i'm hoping to win if we don't we still have had a succesful season, there in bits so we just have to sit back and enjoy the ride.

12 Mar 2016 09:24:17
It's win win for us. If we win good, a cup final to look forward to. if we lose, MW will have a few chances at them next year once we're promoted. Them on the other hand should be reaching for the bog roll especially delia.

12 Mar 2016 09:29:42
He said we will need a miracle to beat the great unwashed, I think he means we need a goal?

12 Mar 2016 10:02:32
John hartson. what a f*d! ex players should just shut up shouldn't they! we will see what the score is, I won't be to fussed if they beat us however if the don't beat us or beat us convincingly they will get pelters. but praise from Sutton and hartson! pair of f*uds!

12 Mar 2016 10:23:11
He's still bitter because he never go his move to the famous Glasgow rangers. How dare he compare us to Stockport roll on the 17th of April hope he is made to eat his words. What a pr***.

12 Mar 2016 17:32:26
They do hav the better players but we hav the better team. Playing for each other and going fir 90 mins. Watching us last nite a think we could run them into the ground if stil in it after 60 mins. Bring it on.

13 Mar 2016 00:39:00
Stmonkeyrfc exactly mate our main aim this season was promotion, anything else is a bonus, if we are promoted we will be bringin in a few more players and as long as they show commitment to our club i will be happy enough, and ime sure mw will bring in some exceptional talent.

12 Mar 2016 08:36:31
The like of Strachan and Sutton are typical of those who are Rangers haters. I put it down to jealousy seeing as we are the most successful club side in history. Strachan failed abysmally as Scotland manager yet was rewarded with a new contract! I'm trying not to be bias but how can Wallace, Wilson, Halliday and Mackay not at least be called up to one of the squads. Mackay must be the most exciting attacker in Scottish football right now. But no, Strachan plumps for the has-beens like Brown, Mulgrew and Hutton again. As for Sutton, he is just a bitter, stupid man who still can't get over the last day of the season loss of the title to mighty Rangers. I won't be upset if we don't win the cup semi-final next month but my goodness I'll revel in it if we do win. 4 wins in our next 8 league games and we'll be champions. !

12 Mar 2016 15:21:47
I see it the same way Doiger, it is a free roll, the game will take care of itself but we have league games to concentrate on. Obviously I would never want Rangers to lose, but it would be good to see Delilah still in charge of the lego eaters next season.
