wondering if we should maybe look into the possibility of snatching a few players from the teams who look destined to be relegated to the championship at the end of the season, what's your thoughts on some of these guys?

John o'shea
Lee cattermole
Jordan rhodes
Sebastian larsson
Victor anichebe

(all out of contract in june)

i'll admit some of these guys would be much more difficult to acquire than others due to wages etc but i think this is an avenue we should explore to bring in some good quality players that would allow us to compete next season, some of these guys could rather come to come to a big team like rangers than play in the championship.

no offense, but there's a reason why these players are going down.
I think the club are hugely capable of aiming way higher in terms of quality players

13 Apr 2017 19:22:09
Did rhodes not sign for sheffield wednesday?

13 Apr 2017 19:24:59
Did rhodes not just move in jan from boro for like 9 million?

13 Apr 2017 19:26:03
Well out of our budget. Any player dropping from the premier league to championship will command at least 30k a week in wages. Jordan rhodes is valued at 9 million for example.

13 Apr 2017 20:02:55
I would take everyone of they players as true blue says they would help us to challenge as they have played at a decent level but again wages is the stumbling block.

13 Apr 2017 20:26:17
We need to produce our own, not a chance could we pay the wages. We need to get real.

13 Apr 2017 20:37:36
Everyone of them players would walk into our team. We're you not on earlier on ajax talking about some aussie that no one has ever heard off! I would hazard a guess that Rhodes and anichebe are better strikers than the aussie.

13 Apr 2017 21:18:13
hooly78, true but the aussie has scored more goals in 2 seasons than Anichebe has manage until this day. Do we really want to go for a player that would scored even less than Garner at a 20 to 30k weekly. As for Rhodes he is a pretty good striker, if he's determine to come with a decent wage why not!

13 Apr 2017 22:32:08
Lee cattermole is exactly the type of midfielder we're needing at rangers, without a shadow of a doubt! I would have him first and foremost, if only! Jordan rhodes would be next on my list from those players!

13 Apr 2017 22:39:03
Will Buckley on a free.

13 Apr 2017 22:40:51
It doesn't mean because they play for a team that's going down that a certain individual is useless. for example would u say no to to Jermaine Defoe because he's rock bottom of the PL?

14 Apr 2017 10:34:45
Jordan Rhodes plays for Sheff Wed now does he not? He would score goals for fun up here tho!

Wouldnt touch Cattermole or Oshea with a bargepole though and I think Anichebe is too much of a gamble for the money he'd command with his injury problems.

Seb Larrson would be a great acquisition too

14 Apr 2017 14:11:48
It saddens me when people make ridiculous comments like this I expect more of a rangers fan . leave the delusional nonsense to the manky mob.

14 Apr 2017 16:39:08
O'shea is the wrong side of 30, Larsson is bang average, Cattermole has discipline issues, Anichebe has never delivered and Rhodes left boro in Jan for a hefty fee so no chance. This is only my opinion but I'd rather see us bring in some really good domestic players and a few gems from abroad who'll demand a fraction of a wage the afore mentioned players would.

Who still thinks we can nick second place? It's unlikely to happen but it's not impossible. We still have to play Aberdeen at ibrox and I would imagine celtic will beat them so that could be down to 3 points. Also Aberdeen away to St Johnstone this weekend could be a tricky one for them. It's the semi final that's priority but it would be nice. I think the sails will be up after beating them 3-0 anyway so you never know. In ped we trust.

13 Apr 2017 19:19:13
Was saying that to a friend today, there's every chance of an Aberdeen collapse. Especially after that 3-0

13 Apr 2017 19:20:04
Will be difficult and would need a major slip up but it's not impossible. remember may 2005?

Maybe saints will take something of them this week and we beat thistle. Scottish cup is the priority now

13 Apr 2017 19:27:53
The st johnstone game will be the decider.

13 Apr 2017 20:03:33
That's depending we don't drop anymore points which I really can't see but you're right it's still possible but very unlikely.

13 Apr 2017 20:23:25
To overhaul Aberdeen I reckon we will need to win all our remaining games. Given how inconsistent we've been this season that doesn't seem very likely. Probably the best Pedro will do for us is get us through to the end of the season unbeaten under his management but that would mean we've won the Cup!

13 Apr 2017 20:55:18
I can see them losing three games to bring the points back but it's the goal difference that's the problem. So realistically they would need to drop 10 points and we'd need to win every match. Focus should be completely on the cup for us. Of course it would be nice to finish high as possible but I'd much rather have the silverware in a season that we've been way below what was expected

13 Apr 2017 22:46:50
Football doessnt work like that, your so fixed on where Aberdeen will drop points and what the points will be IF St johnstone beat them and WHEN Selik beat them without even considering how inconsistent we've been. i don't even think we've won 3 in a row all season now we need to win the nxt 6 to even have a half a chance.

13 Apr 2017 13:53:26
Nice wee pic in sightings showing the SPFL club by club highest attendances. Just goes to show it really is all about the Rangers.

13 Apr 2017 01:35:03
Some People might disagre but, I really think pedro should go and sign Jamie Maclaren this summer! I see the guy week in and week out and the guy is cracker of a player. He scores goal for fun. I mean look at he's stats 38 goals in 48 games since he arrived in Brisbane and only five or so we're from the spot. Half of what Waggy scored last season were from the spot.

13 Apr 2017 09:54:20
Could be worth a shot, wouldn't exactly set us back much either.
