Fellow Bears

the talk of Ally being replaced either by his choice or the board will not be a quick fix nor will the arrival of a mysterious sugar daddy with millions to waste. Having a team full of youthful inexperienced players is also not the real solution.

We are in a real state (football only forget financial issues for a second) Any new manager will have their work cut out to turn our squad of players around to play decent quality football and get RFC back to a club to be feared off. This is were the other mess that we are in (financial) comes into place as any new manager will want to buy new players.

Unless the club could be stabilised financially with a proper board who have vision and can attract investors, I would say we are at least 5-10 years before we are back to being the club we were

OP)good post - makes a lot of sense. Maybe its our destiny to have to wait that length of time, but a new leader and a financial saviour are necessary evils we need right away to shorten the time and ease the pain.

I agree, I reckon we would finish 5th in our first season back in the premiership, but maybe that is a tad optimistic. As for manager, what about Chris Hughton or maybe Steven Pressley.

Agree0 Disagree0

Ibrox4ever. Good post but way too pessimistic. A decent manager like Billy Davies for instance or even good old Walter Smith would lick this squad into shape pretty quickly. McCoist is inept. Sure, we wouldn't win the SPL in the first season back but it wouldn't take 5-10 years - that is just ridiculous. A new manager, fresh impetus, playing good football. The confidence would flow and so would the football. SPL champions again and in Europe by 2017!

Agree0 Disagree0

As far as it goes adecent manager could turn things round very quickly because we do have some decent players as far as sugar daddies go there ain't none they all want there pound of flesh the only way forward is fan ownership and till everyone realises this we will struggle

Agree0 Disagree0

Ibrox4ever, Good post mate, but the hard truth is we are a faulty product. The whole structure is wrong because it suited certain indivdiuals. Anyone that looks at this site regularly knows my feelings about A. McC. , but I genuinely feel sorry for the man, we are rudderless and going nowhere. We had a chance, but greed has taken that away. Green is just a pawn and my bet is that murray is behind his every move. [ maybe with ellis in tow] At the end of the day, whyte was used to take the flak. No matter what, we are cream crackered.

Agree0 Disagree0

Here's a radical idea. We produce quality youth players ourselves. Like the Dutch and other countres.
1 Go to Holland/Spain and bring 2 top class youth coaches on 5 year contracts.
2 They teach our kids.
3. They teach our coaches how teach our kids.
I am guessing we could pay them less than we are paying players who won't be here in 2 years time never mind 5 years.

Agree0 Disagree0

Alex McLeish.

Rangers need a team with a blend of. youth and experience and a manager that can buy a player and hopefully with. a bit of value to sell on if need be.
In my opinion Stuart McCall has done a great job at Motherwell under strict Financial constraints.

Agree0 Disagree0

Op good post, I agree it will take time but it shouldn't be 10 year or so as we are paying our players well and have with our support the ability to keep get decent player to play for us, there's no hurry for me to get back into Europe as it might be a wee bit embarrassing too soon.

I agree also that fan ownership is the only way forward for our club we would put in but have no interest in taking away from the product, I want my kids and theirs to have our beloved club to support.

Im sorry but as much as I like mcliesh my manger choice would be a no brainer in stuart mccall I have said this many times in here, he wouldn't need any more wages than he's on at motherwell and although I don't know how much that is, i'm sure it pales in comparrison to ally, s wage as for me they all get paid far to much, and if ally wad being honest they all sjould have dropped to 4th tier wages when we found ourselves there, increasing with our climb through the divisions.
As for the board they are either incredibly clever or extremely stupid to think that all will be ok, I see people on here telling other people too get their heads out the sand, but our boards heads are that far in the sand they must be saying fling another shrimp on the barby bruce quite a lot.
Ah well that's my 2pence worth, as for falkirk it wouldn't ge a bad thing if they get a result because it might just be the straw that breaks the camels back, then we see where the pieces fall

Agree0 Disagree0

I am gradually thinking of s mcall to he losies key players every season but gets by I think he would do ok

Foster and Black injured?

Believable0 Unbelievable0

First bit of good news we've had in a long time maybe law will step up to the plate now in midfield.

Agree0 Disagree0

Who do we play at RB.

Agree0 Disagree0

{Ed039's Note - Sebastian Faure or Darren McGregor)

Callum Gallagher, Barrie Mckay or Fraser Aird to play RM? under 20's played Queen of the south u20's on which Nicky Clark Callum Gallagher and Andy Murdoch scored.

Agree0 Disagree0

Calum Gallacher is a player that works his socks off and is a bit more physical than Aird and Mackay but we are crying out for a player who can provide quality crosses for Boyd and Miller. Hope Clark gets a chance at some stage of the game against Falkirk.

Realistically if Ally walked who could we afford to take his place? Apart from Billy Davies, note that Michael Laudrup is managering a side from Quatar.

Believable0 Unbelievable0

There are a lot of good managers out there who earn less than ally; replacing him financially wouldn't be an issue, it would be enticing someone to come to the fishbowl of Glasgow.

Agree0 Disagree0

Really couldn't see Ally walking away, as nice a thought it is, I've always liked to think Neil Mccann would do a job for us, however having watched legia warsaw against the other mob, Henning Berg maybe an option don't know what kind of money they're paying in Poland these days but surely can't match mccoist wages he had his team set up perfectly with some very fast free flowing football which was a joy to watch or was it just who they were doing it to

quick poll ed would we have Charles green back if he sacked ally

Believable0 Unbelievable0

{Ed039's Note - Done)

Nay, nay and thrice nay. Enough problems already.

Agree0 Disagree0

Please don't think of this as an option. Green had caused most, if not all of our financial problems since the day wee craig shyte put us into admin. From the way d&p mismanaged the admin, to the hmrc offer and preferred bidder status, to the 1p shares and contracts for the boys (catering, security etc) - green has been there or thereabouts.

Do you really think he's been away?

DO NOT TRUST THIS MAN, OR WE'RE DOOMED

Agree0 Disagree0

SG75, Not far away, but for Green read murray.

guy in work says barry ferguson has clyde at all levels playing the same system right down to kids level, he turned up at one of clydes kids game to check to see if his instructions are being carried out by their coaches, also turns up at training sesssions, ( out of the blue, pardon the pun) to watch that this is also being done. don't know about you guys but to me that sounds like, what's the word, ah yes, " professional ", take note rangers coaches!!

Believable0 Unbelievable0

Professional? Turning up at coaching sessions.

Agree0 Disagree0

When we play the old "Jekyll & Hyde" Barry will be the 1 real midfielder on the pitch as opposed to the imposters we have. As for a playing system!! eh, eh, I' ll try and describe ours! sorry I'm defeated on that one!

Agree0 Disagree0

Boyblue, If that is what Barry is doing, good on him. Teams need a system to operate on and a manager able to adapt them if necessary.

Agree0 Disagree0

Old Liverpool system and it worked for them if one first team player was injured then the reserve team player in that position stepped in knowing exactly what to do and the team still had the same balance Shankly introduced it.

Agree0 Disagree0

It also let's everyone know from top to bottom that the manager is aware of what is happening and not oly that, interested.

Agree0 Disagree0

Yeah guys I agree, a club from top to bottom being educated all in the same manner, makes sense to me. ajax are a club who work on this idea, along with kids playing in all positions to educate them and realise what the job and positions are of all their teammates. a youth coach at ajax said its their job to try and produce 2-3 players forthe 1st team every season, who can go into the 1st team or be sold!!

Why the hell is Russell lappin on trial

Believable0 Unbelievable0

Replacement for Wallace.

Fits the age profile. 31!

Agree0 Disagree0

Impersonating a footballer perhaps?

Who?

Agree0 Disagree0

Is it not simon lappin?no idea if he any good but have heard of him Russell lappin no idea

Agree0 Disagree0

{Ed039's Note - It is Simon Lappin, on trial for 2 weeks after being released by Cardiff)

Another one for the future, McCoists future employment that is. How can he need any more players? especially midfielders. But more importantly who is in charge of finances? this is a joke, they are supposedly selling Murray Park and yet they'll let this person sign another has been, maybe they think we will be so happy with a new 31 year old player that we won't mind them selling our assets.

Agree0 Disagree0

Finally a player with the balls to tell the team how it is, much respect to Kenny Miller for speaking out this us what our manager or captain should be doing.

Believable0 Unbelievable0

He has said more about tactics than McCoist in 3+ dreadful years, McCoist simply says its not acceptable, as if he sets any kind of benchmark for acceptable ability or performance, let's be honest he gets these older players because they don't need coaching or managing like younger developing players, they manage themselves while he sands there arms folded ready to criticize them for a poor performance or accept the praise personally for a win no matter how dire the performance might be.

Agree0 Disagree0

Murray Park has been under utilised the past two years, simple as that. At the very point in time we needed to cultivate youth players and take risks, we were found wanting.

What's the point in winning the under 20's cup and coming second in their league if they move on to other clubs on free transfers anyway? The costs of running the place aren't justified on the balance sheet and why is it that clubs like Aberdeen, Dundee United and St Johnston can live and prosper within their means at a higher level on a fraction of our fan base? The business plan we have is wrong.
