chuckles says he paid all european club debts .. rapid vienna say this morning he has not.. who should we believe .. shamy

Believable46 Unbelievable32

UEFA !!

"Different corporate entity but same Rangers, same history, same honours accrued over 140 years." Tom english on the SFA view on rangers.. not deid.

But note SPL, SFA and UEFA can now apply penalties to rangers, malaga won't play in europe next time they qualify for a few debts,

what penalty for £50-£100million debt failure... probably banish from next 5 years YOU DO qualify!

UEFA now banning teams due to unpaid debts for 2-4 years!

Agree14 Disagree29

I wouldn't put too much stock into how a member of the Scottish media describes the situation. They are too terrified of the repercussions of calling it as it is.

Agree21 Disagree2

@2. Tom English is anything but an apologist for, or a closet supporter of, Rangers. Never has been. Had it been Chick Young for example, you may have had a point but English (as much a Hibs supporter as Chick is a Buddie) has been highly critical of Rangers all summer without 'repercussions' so I doubt that little caveat played any part in his reporting.

Brian

Agree7 Disagree8

@2 furthermore english is reporting the support of SFA to rangers at the ECA - hence the invitation to dubia to discuss future euro league.

So SFA see rangers newco as rangers of old. But issue is sporting penalties therefore must be paid in full.

So much for the boycott 100 tickets have been sold to rangers fans for tannadice at least you get some that don't listen to greens sh%te as for Sally wanting the embargo lifted why ?? Do a few months then think everything is back to normal it will take the same amount of time to get back up so what's the toys out for because green will not be able to raise season ticket prices for next year. Tel

Believable27 Unbelievable29

Ooh 100 tickets, I would say that the boycott is well and truely on, normally would have 5000 plus. The embargo was an illegal punishment which they then blackmailed us to accept. It was imposed by a body which if the set up is accepted will no longer be in existence. You keep telling us Rangers don't exist any more so why should they have a punishment levied on them from a different club? Cant have it both ways.

Agree24 Disagree21

Not a successful boycott though - tickets sold shows dissent against Green. Still a while to go before the game too. Conveniently for the boycotters, it's on TV too - it would have been interesting to see if so many would have stayed away had it not been.

Agree14 Disagree17

@1. Utter drivel. The embargo was a condition the new club had to accept to be allowed into SFL3. The SFA have bent over backwards and broken their own rules to give your new club every advantage.

Agree19 Disagree22

Rangers then, rangers now, rangers forever ?

If so take any punishment for wrongdoings by any rangers owner, ebts, unpaid bills.

rangers still - man up. take you punishments like men, go into the wilderness for a few years and return stronger.... but alley already asking for a reprieve on a punishment that was already delayed to allow the punishment to be undermined..... wow. bunch of girls or what.

Agree25 Disagree15

@1. Didn't see anywhere in the plans that the SFA are being disbanded. Know the facts before making stupid comments.
Al

Agree7 Disagree6

@1] you are confused, the embargo is nothing to do with the boycott . it's about getting charged £20 twice 3 years ago . aye right.. there was no boycott in 2010 or 2011 . so why now ? . because chuckles tells you, that's why . the rest of you should take a lead from the 100 true fans and get up there to support your team . to the 100 . well done guys . true blue fans . ... the rest of you should hang your heads in shame . sending laddies out without support .. rtid, watp, follow follow, na waiting for the whistle to see what the sheperd wants next . and by the way the shepherd is a f***** headcase.. shammy

Agree22 Disagree12

@3 you are making our point for us the SFA are breaking rules left right and center and by the way breaking laws .

Agree3 Disagree5

Shammy, no 1 here. The double charging annoyed the fans greatly, but it was the fans who told Green not to accept tickets, not us following Green. The reason is that Thomson was the most vociferous, sanctimonious, self righteous, person who would gladly have seen us disbanded. I will not line his pockets ever, and anyway why do you care?

Agree8 Disagree13

Dont care about disagrees . i will still doff my cap to the 100 . and the rest of you will wish you were there . either because you've won and missed it, or because you might have made a difference if you were there, support is all .. shammy

Agree15 Disagree10

3) this is the great problem that will never be resolved. I am a Rangers fan, you are not, so by that very fact there will never be agreement. That I suppose is what rivalry is about, but let's look at your version of events. " The embargo was a condition the new club Had to accept To be allowed into SFL". Let's look at the facts, I know that is alien to you but give it a go for once.
The embargo was illegal, we know that it is a fact. The courts confirmed that.
They wanted us into SFL, in fact the SFA and SPL wanted us in div one, you will remember their horror when SFL put us in div three, fact. But in order to be granted a licence we were forced to accept the illegal embargo, fact.
One sentence, two completely different views.

Agree8 Disagree9

Shammy, I have not missed a game at Tannadice for years, of course I want to there, but I cannot give my money to this guy.

For years they have ripped us off with ticket prices, £12 more last year than other fans of other clubs paid (except Celtic), yes I know the police costs are more but £28 and £28 for my twelve year old, £56. The next week against St Johnstone £16 and £5. So I pay £56 and they pay £21, hardly integrity there.

Then the pay twice situation, if this was Celtic fans you would not be happy.

Can only take so much

Agree8 Disagree2

I think the boycott is a load of pash. Thompson had every right to be vocal in the rangers situation the debts they ran up were an absolout discrace. How rangers fans think they had te right to go all last season without paying tax and the rest of the clubs in te spl were just to accept it and say its ok just start again with no debt oh and your welcolme to stay in the spl it dosnt matter. Your lucky the sfa are cowards and you were allowed into the sfl. Boycott pufft have a word with yourselves.

Agree10 Disagree5

@1 if the same club then pay your debts!
I think the real reason why these plastic supporters aren't going is because its a lot easier to get up and switch the tv off when your new club is getting a right doing!! Lets face it, DU aren't having a great season but at least they will turn up on the pitch as opposed to McCalls lay down Motherwell team! Lets remind everyone that they also voted against a new team joining the SPL but no boycott was against them! Strange that, but I guess it was at ibrox so the old siege mentality was there!
But agree with you shammy, well done on the 100 true supporters, unlike the fair weather supporter you guys know what supporting a football team is all about!

Agree7 Disagree8

@ 10 If it was illegal why did Charlie sign the deal, why has he not went to a higher authority than the S.F.A. He know's if he had taken it higher, his new team would have been out of football.
Tam

Agree11 Disagree2

@13. What about the 'plastic' Green Brigade who also took a stance on principle (if it turns out you don't support Celtic then this answer will be easy for you) and boycotted their own team for a couple of matches to get their point across. I doubt any other club will get boycotted in such numbers as our supporters have had long standing issues with Thomson and clearly his words and actions over the summer have been the straw that broke the camels back for some. Personally, I am against all boycotts (not going for financial reasons, nothing else) but I won't come on here and slag genuine supporters who turn up every week off because they have chosen to miss out on this game. It's their choice how they spend their money. Have you missed any games this season home or away?

Brian

p.s. I remember plenty of Celtic fans coming on here saying they would be buying up the tickets. Maybe 100 have actually been true to their word, lol. ;-}

Agree5 Disagree3

@10 the embargo as a punishment was deemed illegal - fact. The embargo as a condition of league membership was not - fact.

Agree6 Disagree0

@11 . agreed buddy . but we pay 20/25 everywhere, we go to ibrox it's 40, so are you any better, and yes we do the same to you.. shammy

Its time to cut our losses and punt sandaza and black, Hemmings and Hutton are better players and on a lot less money.

Believable16 Unbelievable12

How would you know Hemmings is a better player. He has hardly played for the first team. The times i've seen him play he doesn't look that good and Hutton isn't any better than Black he is just less likely to get booked.

Give Sandaza time to get his match fitness back and he will come good. Black is a liabilty but we do not have a big enough squad to be selling players especially in the CM position

Agree11 Disagree5

Really never fully grasped just how new set up would work, logged into STV sport and section titled ''how league reconstruction would work'', after reading my only comment would be ''absolute shambles''

Believable16 Unbelievable8

Well suggest a better scheme then,

but so far:

two divs failed
3 divs failed
4 divs failed
SPL with 10 teams failed
SPL with 12 teams failed
SPL with 12 teams and last 5 games split failed.

whats left that does not see old firm playing 30+ games against diddy teams in meaningless games each season.

Fix the problem - only old firm every won SPL - that's the real problem, they keep most of the money, and no other team gets a look in, remember aberdeen won europe !!!

not seen non-old firm team do anything in europe since SPL created to feed celtic/ranger.

Agree8 Disagree5

16 team and 18 team top divs all fails.... because just means more meaningless games, as rangers/celtic will only play each other twice in season, and other 30 odd games against relative minnows.

Some form of split means its not 4 games each season, a bore, but 2 games in regular season, and then 1 extra in the decider.

Rangers have no vote, and no better suggestions, other than european league where rangers will be minnows.

Agree3 Disagree2

One solution not discussed,

what if each major european league had one team as an invitation each year.

E.g. One scottish team in EPL, one non-scottish team in SPL... etc etc

Invitation team can win, but can't get relegated. After one year returns to thier original league.

Need solutions, not criticism of any solutions.

Yet another asinine comment from McCoist in today's paper. He is suggesting that if the league restructure goes ahead then the transfer embargo should be rescinded. There is absolutely no rationale behind this comment. The only possible reason I can think of is to try and convince the fans that there is money to spend when this is highly unlikely.

AH 75

Believable19 Unbelievable16

He wants level playing field... lol as if having 10x as many fans, and paying 10x as much on players is level !!

hes 17 pts ahead, and still wants level playing field !!! Ha hA

Agree12 Disagree9

Well the extea fans allow for the extra money. Or are you more of a communism person? Do you believe all clubs should be allowed to spend maximuk amount regardless of income?

Agree1 Disagree4

@1 same accusation can be made towards The Celtic regards wages fanbase etc.

Agree4 Disagree2

@1 you'll be in favour of the points being reset in the new premiership after the split then, level playing field?

Agree4 Disagree1

Rangers had more fans and more money that any other scottish team (so we told),

so why then need ebts and non-tax paying scandals, when they won so much without this ?

Rangers already have huge fan base, stadium, and financial benefits. They don't need any other help - or do they?

Agree6 Disagree2

@3 ... not seen lennon asking for assistance like mccoist, or time of for good behaviour ?

celtic have fanbase and money advantage and don't greet like babies about it.

3 50,000+ stadiums in scottish footaball, 2 prof and 1 amatuer teams. so no wonder old firm dominate.

guess mccoist really worried about teams ahead, when spending 10x more on players than any in div1.

Agree4 Disagree1

@4 - not for top teams, but would like 3 games per year rather than 4 - after split. So there is significant advantage to one of old firm.

This will stop 9-in-a-row - which was ok once (when celtic dominating europe) but since has been a joke.

IF rangers loose titles, celtic could get 10-in-a-row... where is the sense in that ?

there are other teams, than old firm, would be nice to see them win something......

Agree0 Disagree0

@4: why should all the points be reset? The middle 8 points have to be as the teams in it will be from two different leagues.
