Our manager ally mccoist is very hopeful that a deal can be done to sign bilel mohsni the French / tunisian centre half who we have on trial, yet again big mohsni had another terrific game at centre half for us against Bristol City this afternoon, big mohsni would be a tremendous signing and along with bosnian centre half boris pandza whom mccoist is also hopeful of signing it would go a long way to having a terrific defence & centre half partnership yet again, what do other bears fans think?BIG RAM

I seen mohsni at brora last week, he looked the part, calm on the ball, solid at the back and good in the air. stayed out on park after game to pose for photos nd autographs for kids.

Overly expensive overkill for third tier football?

Agree0 Disagree0

Both players would be good enough for top league when we get back and that's for sure

Agree0 Disagree0

Mohsni was hardly tested on his defending skills though, looked the part at set pieces as caused an Ariel threat

Agree0 Disagree0

Both players would be good enough for the top league when we get back to the top league that's for sure?

Based on youtube video's of Pandza and 2 friendlies for Mohsni one of which was against a highland league team.

Have a word with youself mate will you. First get them signed, then see there form over a concerted period, then how they perform against SPL teams in the cup, then let your mouth rumble about how they are good enough to perform at SPL standard.

Agree0 Disagree0

@2, overly expensive? how would you know how much is involved?

Agree0 Disagree0

@2 Scottish cup & league cup?

So what are we to do, go into this season with the same team as last year or do we start thinking ahead, look at the bigger picture and where we will end up and what we need to have to make a sustained challenge. Reasonable signings and by yesterdays performance looking good. PB

Agree0 Disagree0

@5 well said!
Next the will be telling us how good they are on fifa13, "yeah let's get them! They are great at set pieces and moshni put 2 past Barcelona last night! Sign them up ally they can definatly do a job for us and put in a decrnt shift when we are back in the top league in two seasons blah blah blah"
Seriously have yourselves people!

Good win today for the boys, I don't care if it's only a sponsor trophy cup we win, it's about winning, a winning mentality, that's what you need to have and succeed at a club like Glasgow rangers! Hopefully the first of many this season. BIG CODGIE

Yeah I totally agree with you, c that Ally is Still very hopeful of getting the 2 defenders on board. I honestly believe we should not be waiting around to sign theese guys. Because the problem is that by playing big Moshni in Freindlys down in England that other English clubs may c him and offer more money. I just don't want us to loose out I suppose.

Great start to preseason. Compare with Scotland's 2nd biggest club, getting gubbed left right and centre including 0-3 to Union Berlin last night while Cliftonville won 9-2 and obviously are in form.

Might Celtic fail to even gain a Europa Cup spot this year, well I wouldn't bet against it. definitely wouldn't fear them in a one-off cup tie either.

Another 1 nil - against better opposition - how did they play - never seen the game

Believable0 Unbelievable0

Never seen it myself mate but sounds like we played pretty well & our fitness levels put us on top on the day some really promising signs coming from Rangers on the park this year. Just like to add watched the Elgin highlights the other day Little & Aird have bulked up big time since the end of last season especially Little who's kinda built like a boxer he has pace so could be a wee powerhouse getting down the line this year. Airdy showed some awesome
Skill to cut in for his goal & he looks much stronger.

I've been told by one of my Newcastle mates that rangers are going to be playing Newcastle at st. james' s park some time in the next few months for a testimonial for Newcastle's ex keeper Steve Harper who's also a big rangers fan, he also told me that rangers will be playing Newcastle United in a friendly at ibrox sometime in early August as he's coming up for the game, has any other of my fellow rangers season ticket holders heard anything on this?

Believable0 Unbelievable0

Harpers a big Rangers fan? Aye right.

Agree0 Disagree0

Hope not, the club should be playing friendlies at home so we can make some needed cash. {Ed001's Note - clubs are usually paid to play an away game by a promoter. Why do you think English Premier League clubs fly all around the world playing friendlies? It is simply a money making exercise, they can make huge amounts of money from playing in Asia.}

Agree0 Disagree0

Ed Newcastle ain't Asia.
Not many Geordies going to go out and buy rangers shirts either. {Ed001's Note - never said it was, I really don't see why you have made this smart arsed, but completely idiotic comment? My point was that clubs are paid for away friendlies, such as Rangers travelling to Newcastle. I don't see anyone claiming it was about shirt sales, so again another idiotic and clueless comment. If you have nothing worthwhile to say, it might be best to just not bother to waste everyone's time trying to be smart.}

Agree0 Disagree0

Something tells me we ain't going get a huge amount of money from playing Newcastle in a friendly though ed. {Ed001's Note - probably far more than would be earned through a home friendly though.}

Agree0 Disagree0

Was in paper about a month or so ago rangers were in talks with newcastle about a friendly at ibrox aug 6/7

rangers 1 Bristol 0 go the bears Ozzie Al

Agree0 Disagree0

Ed is spot on. The reason he may (if true ) want Gers to be the oppo would be to guarantee a sell out and prob able to charge a hefty price per ticket. Which is usually what testimonials are all about. Gers may get percentage of gate or one off fee. Also the Ashley link.

Agree0 Disagree0

@8. Not sure how your geography is but Newcastle Is slightly nearer than bristol. I imagine being a testimonial many Newcastle fans would also want to attend. Like I say may not be 50k but i'd bet Wed bring more fans than many European/ prem sides. So please take your bitterness somewhere else.

Agree0 Disagree0

@8 Rangers aren't just any 3rd teir Scottish team attract more of a crowd than the other 11 teams in the SPL put together. Face it were still one of the best supported clubs in Europe that will never change! Atleast Germany's minnows aren't laughing at us right now. Celtic the almighty conquerors of Barcelona ship 12 goals in 4 games on foreign soil LOL funny moan the Cliftonville hope they've watched those friendlies & saw how to beat your shaky Defence. Bet your the same guy said Celtic are the richest club in Europe think Soceidad might have just pipped you they can take in £34million for there young stars & I'd say have a much better chance in th CL than yourselves this season. If indeed you are a Tim your post strongly suggests it the old attendance patter. Rant over!

Larky Bear {Ed001's Note - Sociedad are skint mate, there are very few clubs in Spain that aren't in financial difficulties, even Madrid with the government backing they get have to sell. Bilbao are probably the most financially stable club in Spain.}

Agree0 Disagree0

Ed 001, couldn't be more correct.
celtic vs liverpool. parkhead, anfield. no, the dublin decider?. nothing to do with who's playing, but who and how many want to watch.

celtic fly there in the morning, play the game, fly home and sleep in their own beds that night having made £400,000. both teams are happy and the city of dublin gets somewhere in the region of £10m from fans.
stenna line, p&o, ryanair and aerlingus all make a fortune.

everyone makes money except the fans who are 2/3 hundred maybe more pounds down, for a game that will probably be sh1t and means nothing. but they get a great weekend away. happy days. shammy

Agree0 Disagree0

I was only joking Ed I know La Ligas on it's arse clutching at straws for a joke at the Tic really.

Larky Bear {Ed001's Note - oh sorry. It is just I read so many people saying about how they are selling players for big money so must be rich, you tend to forget not everyone thinks it!}

Agree0 Disagree0

I can imagine Ed you must get it kinda easy on this site though had a look at the Arsenal & Chelsea pages & Real Madrid the Eds just get hammered with so much crap & repetitive questions it's unreal.

Larky Bear {Ed001's Note - that is because you don't see what I delete! When I do the sites, I answer the question once, repeat questions I delete. It is pointless even trying to ask people to look through the site as the question has been answered, they are just too lazy to do so. We have tried putting a summary page up and they just ignored it. It doesn't matter what we do, most people moan at us about it. So I just do what seems best now. The difficulty here is the sectarian stuff, so many people try to sneak references through to events that happened in the past, it is difficult to remember them all. I know a lot on here probably don't like Ed007 for his choice of team, but he is very good at letting me know what is offensive and should be deleted, for both sets of fans. Like references to the Ibrox disaster that I would never have known existed, he will let me know if he spots them so they can be removed, if I do miss things.}

Agree0 Disagree0

Well that's understandable Ed your doing a fine job anyway. Ed007 alsp does a good job had it out with him a few tiimes over there I just stopped going on but it can be a good site with some equally knowledgable posters & great banter, he said my Town was a bigoted s****hole & it does have that element so I know where he's coming from but he's entitled to his opinions like I am mine I took the huff lol, he's just as good at what he does for these sites as all the rest of you are keep up the good work! Whatever happened to Ed039?
And just out of interest which team do you support yourself?

Larky Bear {Ed001's Note - Ed039 is about when he can be, he is just really busy with work and home life at the moment. He does get on once a week or so, but he just hasn't the time currently to edit consistently. To be fair to Ed007, to anyone looking at Scotland from down south, every town up there is bigoted!! Personally I am a Liverpool fan.}

Agree0 Disagree0

Given that last year Celtics debt was 126,000 (exactly what old rangers owe them) and their income was around 50m, add to that wanyama fee and Hooper too. Take away costs, there is a substantial sum in the bank. Manchester city and united don't have a quid in the bank between them. Neither do real madrid and barca. Or Chelsea, or liverpool. They all live on borrowed money serviced by mainly tv income. Even the rangers have more in the bank than that. So is someone who is massively in debt richer than someone with money in the bank? The so called big clubs of Europe have no way out of their debt and either huge downsizing or disaster is inevitable. As recent history had shown nobody is too big to fail. Celtic are a brilliant example of how to run a football business. If barca tried to live within their means, their superstar addicted fans would desert in droves. So too all the others. Scotland should be proud it has a club leading the way like this. As for the debt ridden pretenders, their day will come. {Ed001's Note - you are quite simply wrong. United have substantial funds in the bank, City in no way exist on money borrowed and serviced by TV income either. What about Arsenal? They have no shortage of funds, nor do Stoke, Norwich paid off their debts too. Celtic are doing nothing special, just existing within their means like most of the clubs in the world do.}
