13 Jul 2016 18:54:20
Cummings just signed 4 year deal with hibs, so that puts that 1 2 bed.

13 Jul 2016 19:07:54
Particularly happy about that, I like many other bears didn't want jason cummings anywhere near ibrox, so RESULT as far as I'm concerned.

13 Jul 2016 19:16:54
Good, however since when did signing a new contract mean someone will not move on soon after. Usually a way of getting improved terms for both the player and his club.

13 Jul 2016 20:14:52
My point is it won't be us cuillin 72,you are correct signing a new longer term contract means nothing if a big offer comes in and we do know the money hibs would now be looking for cummings would need to be a substantial offer which we wouldn't pay.

13 Jul 2016 23:29:02
Somebody on here said about a week ago they bumped into Neal Lennon and he said this was most likely outcome. Not sure why but interesting that what NL said actually was true.

13 Jul 2016 17:40:06
I thought we would at least spend a little money, but doesn't look that way, Niko and Barton were class signings, I think windass and MOH will do well this season.
I have watched Rossiter and he's like a young Barry Ferguson, plays in exact same role and fancy him to be our best player next season. Plays like he's a older pro than he is.

But back to the striker I think most bears would have been happy with Bradshaw, but championship clubs are way more likely than us to pay the transfer fee, even tho it's not exactly huge.
Anyway I'll be there supporting as usual and just hope that Waggy can step up, a lot of his goals were penalties so he needs a bit more than his muscles next season.

13 Jul 2016 18:17:50
I agree with much of what you say but the answer to our problem isn't Waghorn. He himself has said he's somewhere between a 9 and a 10, I think a 9 and a half was mentioned. He's not a natural striker, can't leap and header cleanly, very left footed, first touch a bit suspect at times.

We need a no. 9. Miller's 36, Hardie's 18. A clinical finisher added and Dominic Ball replacing Kiernan would do it for me. I know it won't happen but if we do ever get the chance to get Ball back, we should grab it and play him in his rightful position, centre back not midfield.

13 Jul 2016 18:22:12
Dave King would realistically have to outsource finances but since MW and FMcP have done such a good job we haven't had to spend a penny yet. We are still lacking major income streams such as kits, premier league tv/ prize money, champions league football or player sales. A good job has been done so far but I won't be disappointed if we don't spend anything significant.

13 Jul 2016 18:45:22
Yeah I also thought in Bradshaw is a healthy profit if warbs, who has form at getting potential out of players would have made the not so huge transfer a potential bargain.

Your spot on Ross about income streams, so we as a club need to get the best potential then sell them on, that's why I thought Bradshaw ticked those boxes.

And Kfraser I'm not really that happy just going with Waggy and Kenny again either. So I totally agree mate, problem is I fear we may have that situation plus a loan deal, Dom ball would be great, I just can't see us getting another loan of him. But the guy should go on to great things, wish him well.

13 Jul 2016 19:18:31
Good post Ross W, you cover a lot of very good points within your post, it does look like tom bradshaw will be signing for a championship club for just under the 1million quid mark but here's my alternative if warbs is still looking to sign a striker even if we do sign dodoo either on loan or permanently, the striker who imo is every bit as good as bradshaw and is available for nowt is matty taylor formerly of bristol rovers, it would represent terrific value for us especially if what looks like finance is quite tight within our club, signing taylor instead of bradshaw is a no brainer from where I'm sitting, his stats are every bit as impressive as bradshaw's, go get him 'gers.

13 Jul 2016 22:21:07
Are you sure Taylor is still under contract with Bristol rovers think we would need to pay fee for him to.

13 Jul 2016 16:49:32
Brenda is probably on more a week than the whole population of Gibraltar!

13 Jul 2016 17:10:52
What an absolute embarrassment of a result last night!

Imagine only putting one goal past a defence containing Efe Ambrose.

14 Jul 2016 17:20:55
You have got to laugh there average home support is 28 lol junior football gets bigger crowds.

14 Jul 2016 12:50:09
Hohoho, quality.

13 Jul 2016 14:47:36
Bradshaw hands in written transfer request. come warbs get him up here and threw door at ibrox he's not ronaldo but he's got potential and is a consistent goal scorer.

13 Jul 2016 17:23:37
Hate to say it humey thought Bradshaw could of been a good one, think he's championship bound! I like some of the signings and I am quite happy, but we have barely spent a penny and would have liked some money spent on the centre forward, not a loan in Dodoo.

It baffles me why we always have to have players that can rotate the front line, the players we have now all we need is a goalsscorer, I just hope it doesn't come back to haunt us, I was never meaning millions but maybe Β£800,000k to a mil would have been okay surely.

14 Jul 2016 12:46:13
Spending money doesn't meen that the player will be a success but I was hopeful of getting Bradshaw in he's at the right age he would fit right in but I do think we need sum more hight up front

The forwards will be up against bigger defenders so i'd like 2 more up top a finisher and a big striker to cause the defenders problems Miller and wags are not that tall we need some musical up top just my opinion.

13 Jul 2016 15:17:09
DR reporting that Tom Bradshaw has handed in a transfer request.

I am sure RFC will make their move.

Have wanted to see this young lad at RFC for a while now - more hopeful than confident.

13 Jul 2016 15:47:56
If we want him let's make the move now, pay the money rather than offer an unrealistic amount and watch him go elsewhere.

Would rather we signed him than the young Leicester player.

13 Jul 2016 17:02:14
Warburton said striker we were chasing was not one of those constantly being mentioned, and Bradshaw certainly was, plus Rotherham constantly linked with him, so have real doubts although would be pleased if wrong.

13 Jul 2016 17:28:18
Agree 100%.

13 Jul 2016 15:09:14
Rumours suggesting that Paddy McNair is getting released from Man United.

Has been mentioned in the past on here and also played a few times in the Euros for Northern Ireland.

13 Jul 2016 16:06:06
If that's true would take him in a heartbeat, good young player, better than Wilson and Kiernan IMO, though could demand a high wage and bound to be plenty of interest.

13 Jul 2016 16:07:53
He is contracted until 2017 and valued at 4.5 million. Should have known to take this with more than a pinch of salt.

13 Jul 2016 13:35:39
I said it last week our new striker would be a loan signing, I don't see the point in it.

13 Jul 2016 15:15:35
Have we signed a striker?

13 Jul 2016 15:52:11
Completely pointless and short term fix. Also MW said only a few days ago he hoped to make two permanent deals not loans. He has also said no short term fixes

This makes me think that we won't pay transfer fees and its getting a tad desperate.

At this rate it will be out turn to lose to the mighty imps next season!

13 Jul 2016 13:27:18
I'm worried Joey won't have enough pockets to hold their whole midfield.

13 Jul 2016 14:05:46
A have just been told that Dave King has authorised a 1 of pair of combat trousers for Joey to wear for the first old firm game of the season. Panic over hahahahaaha.

13 Jul 2016 15:55:39
Seriously guys- it was all the pitch, UEFA should step in and award Celtic the victory if there is any justice, was all Ambrose's fault as well. Would have won easy if LG had played a different roll. Propeller cap Brown is to blame also.

That's the crap i've heard off Celtic fans. In between my fits of laughter.

14 Jul 2016 06:37:49
Now that bunch of over rated DIVS will prob scrape past at the methadome but, if the mighty Imps do it does that mean no Europe at all for Brenda's bunch. Shocking result btw loved reading the papers on day, "it's not going to be 6 or 8 but 4-0 would be a good cushion" :)

14 Jul 2016 12:59:20
I've no doubt they will win in a cantter at the tower's, but it will never take away the shame of losing to a team called " Red Imps" from Gibraltar, who are about 10 yrs old, we shouldn't let them forget it either.

13 Jul 2016 13:10:41
did you hear celtic have appealed to uefa sayin the result couldn't stand as the plumber that plays left back for the imps wasn't corgi registred.

13 Jul 2016 14:03:23
Rodgers must wish he could turn the clock back.

I wish I could turn the clock back myself. So I could have see Celtic getting gubbed by a pub team from Gibraltar.

13 Jul 2016 14:06:15
hahaha am loving that post.

13 Jul 2016 14:18:46
Corgi registered. Brilliant.

13 Jul 2016 11:49:39
Think kranjcar will play on Saturday or is he still not fit?

13 Jul 2016 12:34:06
as far as I know him and barton will not feature and neither will rossiter think the rest might have some part in the game.

13 Jul 2016 12:54:12
Won't play possibly may play in games 3 or 4 in the league cup.

13 Jul 2016 13:16:00
Not fit.

13 Jul 2016 15:33:07
You'll probably only see Windass and maybe Hill play on Saturday.

13 Jul 2016 11:27:05
Think we'll find out soon if Joseph Dodoo is the only striker we're after.

Would be great to have him come in permanently and compete for a place on the wing with McKay and Waghorn. If he's on loan, then there must be no doubt that the manager is looking for another striker.

Not saying it's a bad thing, but how many times have we heard MW say we only want 1 or 2 more players and we'll be ok, which then turns into 3 or 4 more.

If he's a permanent I'm sure the other striker we might sign will be on loan. If he's on loan the other striker could be permanent. But I think all Bears will be surprised to say the least if this turns out to be our last signing in the forward area.

Maybe Dodoo is being looked at with the view of loaning out Hardie for one more season?

13 Jul 2016 12:40:07
I think he knows the youth players better than most and thinks he can make the step up and will be trying everything he can to get him on permanent deal.

13 Jul 2016 13:36:18
He said the leister deal is on the table and mw said it would be a permant deal early or late this week so it has to be an attempt at it. Guy scores all sorts of goals.

13 Jul 2016 11:03:25
Has anyone seen the latest distressing pictures of Gazza? Was so sad to see him looking like this, probably the worst yet.
Would like to think the Club will contribute something if and when he gets checked back into rehab. No point in doing all of our other charity work if we can't help one of our own. I know he's had chances in the past and blew it but that doesn't matter to me.
The man was a genius, legend and entertainer for us. Wish you all the best Gazza!

13 Jul 2016 11:47:35
Well said! My idol growing up.

13 Jul 2016 11:47:45
Spot on recbob, was my hero and my favourite rangers player, imo gazza was the greatest ever rangers player, you're so right mate, gazza didn't ask to be an alcoholic its a mental illness in which circumstances dictated it, we just don't know what's round the corner for any of us, in our lifes we can never say with certain that we'll never be alcoholics because something in our lives could unfortunately dictate that, god bless paul gascoigne the geordie genius and we as a club should do everything we can to help the man, so brilliant shout recbob!

13 Jul 2016 12:41:54
I don't think its only rehab gazza needs i think he needs something to focus on and a job in football would do that . once he gets better if he gets better i would love a club wether it be rangers, spurs, newcastle to give him a coaching job teaching young kids the game i can't think of anyone better to teach skills to kids . i think gazza needs a purpose in life something to get up for in the morning.

13 Jul 2016 12:42:04
wouldn't waste our money on the lost cause he has become only a matter of time before he drinks himself to death!

I love the guy and was my third favourite of all time but we shouldn't be giving money to his lost cause.

13 Jul 2016 13:40:23
You've got your opinion james stirling but have a heart for gods sake, its a mental illness the guy has, he didn't ask to become what's happened to him, anybody can become an alcoholic bear that in mind my friend.

13 Jul 2016 13:37:36
Why shouldn't we?

13 Jul 2016 16:02:39
I'm sorry gazza has mental health problems, it's completely ignorant to say all his problems are down to alcohol, although clearly it is making his problems far worse.

Gazza is like many people in society these days (with mental health issues) , I feel for him but to be honest those around him are the cause of most his troubles. He needs proper help not put on a stage for a bunch of fools to sing racist and sectarian nonsense.

I know what I'm talking about as I am a medical professional.

13 Jul 2016 16:16:14
In full agreement with the original post. I do however have my doubts that rehab is enough for Gazza. I fear it could come to a sad premature end for him if he really doesn't beat his addiction (s) . Such a sin to see him the way he is as after he hung up his playing boots, he could of had a successful career in coaching and undoubtedly TV. I wish him all the best and agree that our club could support and help him in some capacity.

13 Jul 2016 11:04:30
the Brenda factor they thought he was a tactical wiz kid he's pish he had great players to work with at Liverpool but never won anything he's not a motivator ither and promised the Liverpool youths the world and gave them a hard time thank fek wards is our manager what a difference even the way he speaks.

13 Jul 2016 10:29:44
A got a really good feeling for the bears this year. MW is just so on the ball, the way he has recruited on our small budget has been fantastic

This Doddo, could be a player also, I know that people are saying wee need experience striker, but let's be honest here, the amount of chances that we create in games, what's to say we are not going to be the making of a player such as Doddo, or even Waggy again, we create so much chances if a player find a wee bit of form they could end up banging them in for fun.

Lets face it if the RAT Griff can score 40 then am sure our strikers will not be far behind with the football we play.

I can see Rodgers failing miserably over there. They have to much dead wood. He is stuck in his ways also, playing players out of position, and never criticises his players look at last nite, he comes out and says that result not embarrassing, OMG really, what planet is he on, he will get swallowed up and spat back out of Glasgow if he thinks like that.

55 is looking good, let's all laugh at Selik!

13 Jul 2016 11:11:34
Rodgers is the most over hyped manager in World Football. Take away the Suarez effect and he would have came nowhere near a title.
He is cringy every time he opens his mouth and is quite rightly referred to as David Brent by the English Media. Just google Rodgers top cringy quotes, it's hysterical.

The funny thing is my mates who support the dark side used to laugh at him as well but now they're paying him 45k a week, he is regarded as a footballing messiah.

Be funny to see how many of the 50,000 season book holders they now have will still be watching come the end of the season when we have wiped the floor with them.

I was confident before he signed, was confident before we signed a player and let's just say I'm still confident now of getting 55 at the first time of asking. MW is twice the manager and I honestly think we have the better squad.

13 Jul 2016 12:55:43
we defo have the better quality squad as it is just now but I think Brenda will turn good for them he will sign another 3 players and get rid of another 6 in the next few weeks I think his marquee signing is yet to come but i'm still confident that rangers and Aberdeen can finish ahead of them this season! lmao

oh and warbs is defo the better manager.

13 Jul 2016 13:41:36
Don't think can say we have the better squad, but we potentially we do have the better team both on and definitely off the park. In terms of mentality and preparation we will win hands down. Roll on 10th Sept.

13 Jul 2016 14:06:16
Celtic have a larger squad but in my opinion ours is better in every department except the Strikers. And I'm still hoping that will be rectified.

13 Jul 2016 16:06:17
Don't like him but LG is in a different league to our strikers. The guy is Boyd Mark 2- bangs them in at spl level but hopeless anywhere else.

13 Jul 2016 09:49:10
Mad Broonie stated yesterday that CFC had to make a statement on the European stage - well they have done that in spades, so much so that they are the talk of the steamy in world football.

They are now the laughing stock in every news channel.

FB excuses -

The pitch was unplayable;

It is Scottish Footballs fault;

The players weren't fit;

The game came too soon;

It was too warm;

The players had jet lag;

There are no DIDDY TEAMS in Europe - Really?

13 Jul 2016 10:37:59
Only diddy team in europe last night and they were playing in black and gold and they come from east end of glasgow πŸ˜‚πŸ˜‚.

13 Jul 2016 11:16:59
I hope Broony stays fit this year, he is utter mince. There's a reason he's played his entire career in the SPFL, nobody would touch him with a barge pole in the EPL, unless Strachan managed to somehow get a job there.

His excuse last year was he was tired and playing through an injury, after seeing him last night after a long rest and back to fitness it's hard to see where his next excuse will come from. Barton must be quaking in his boots at the thought of out playing that footballing 'Neanderthal'.

13 Jul 2016 13:56:10
I really think Broony is way by his sell by date. 5-6 years ago his game was all about work rate and aggression and I thought he was a great player. Now he is pretending to be a polished and stylish passing midfield player. Unfortunately for him he simply does not possess that raw material. Hope Brenda sticks to his promise of building the team around him.

13 Jul 2016 14:12:16
I personally think the only time he was good was at Hibs and that was with Thompson beside him picking passes. Since his big money move he has tried to be something he's not, which is a Footballer. He doesn't realise he was bought for brute, not brains. You could count on one hand the amount of passes he's completed, and on the other the amount of goals/ assists provided.
Any Celtic fan that still rates him is blinded by that goal and celebration against us. He'll be living off that for a while yet. Barton will be able to smoke a cigar whilst juggling and still dominate him. Or Haliday and Holt for that matter.

13 Jul 2016 07:58:11
Waking up to realise celtic are the laughing stock of world football yes WORLD football πŸ˜‚πŸ˜‚πŸ˜‚πŸ˜‚ have a nice day.

13 Jul 2016 09:47:24
Im in marbella at the minute mate and i must admit there has been a lot of search and rescue helicopters kicking about bit late for the team that went missing last night though πŸ˜‚πŸ˜‚πŸ˜‚πŸ˜‚πŸ˜‚πŸ˜‚πŸ˜‚.

13 Jul 2016 07:10:06
Do you think Dave king could really surprise us with a 25k-30k a week striker just one half decent player at 2 million or 3 million highly unlikely I know . If he did that he would be really showing his hand of intent and even win back a few doubters and criticism .

13 Jul 2016 10:20:13
I wouldn't want us spending like that yet. We don't need to.

13 Jul 2016 13:07:04
did u see selik last night we don't have to sign anyone else lol

id maybe get another centre half out of respect for the hard work mcinnes has done at the sheep.

13 Jul 2016 13:39:30
I would rather the club survived and put the money (2 or 3 mil) into the youth or bring ibrox back to its glory then bring in a player who might not cut it there will be plenty time when we get into the Euro when the money is there to spend.

13 Jul 2016 10:41:25
We do not have 2 / 3 million to spend it's clear we cannot afford to pay transfer fees yes we havery done good business thus far but free transfers will not get us where we want to be and it's very worrying that we are not biding decent money for players and this is going to come back and bite us in future.

13 Jul 2016 05:37:52
Well I think I have just heard the funniest comment ever, one of my Celtic mates claims that Scott brown will "run over the top of Barton" when rangers play Celtic, however I heard nothing back when I told him that a waiter from Gibraltar ran over the top of brown last night. or was he a taxi driver. anyway, don't make me laugh, Barton already has a pocket sewn onto his shorts for brown to hop into before the 1st old firm game even kicks off! πŸ˜‚πŸ˜‚πŸ˜‚πŸ˜‚πŸ˜‚πŸ˜‚πŸ˜‚πŸ˜‚πŸ˜‚πŸ”΄βšͺοΈπŸ”΅.

13 Jul 2016 08:17:47
Joey barton is streets ahead of scott brown in EVERY aspect of midfield play, I've not got one shred of doubt that barton will prove this against the man they call broony or is it loony? Forfarger, your spot on mate and barton is without question the best midfielder in scottish football and the hilarious thing here is I know the hoops fans know this and I've actually had quite a few I know admit it to me as they honestly don't rate their captain calamity scott (broony/ loony) brown!

13 Jul 2016 10:31:31
I don't think Barton will be best the best midfielder in Scotland, that will be kranjcar. Hehe.

13 Jul 2016 05:25:31
Think MW should attempt to sign Daniel Agger and move him up front with dodoo gers new front line would be agger dodoo No seriously this boy will be a star up here what he would do to ambrose well impressed if he signs hopefully 4 year deal rather than a loan will be 5 million plus player.

13 Jul 2016 07:44:06
Daniel agger retired from football a few months ago.

13 Jul 2016 09:55:39
@ Stewartyblue LOL your joke was wasted on a few it would seem!

13 Jul 2016 11:18:40
Absolute genius Stewartyblue.

13 Jul 2016 12:58:39
Gs1990 is maybe too young to remember black lace. Lucky for him.
