If Stuart McCall is appointed permanently, Dave King will be asked a lot of questions. Many fans feeling that he was only appointed because they couldn't get their first choice.

No one can say McCall is their first choice.

If mccall gets job then he was always getting it and all the talk about the others was just s**t talk. If they where looking Warburton they would of appointed him last week in my opinion. Does anyone no if they asked Aberdeen for permission to talk to mcinnes

How can King expect to encourage Rangers fans to buy up 45,000 tickets if he isn't willing to make whole sale changes which is exactly what is needed.
Talk about Warburton being appointed last week if they wanted him?
If the wanted McCall, they'd have appointed him as permanent manager even before the Motherwell games, in my opinion.

Warburton is already signed sealed just to be delivered.

McCall wasonly interviewed out of politeness and as the ultimate failsafe just in cae they did not get Pereira or Warburton. Pereira was a no go due to non promotion and Warburton was just haggling over his £600k salary he apparently was wantin thesame as our gardener earns which was for a few reasons a sticking point.

This was resolved and Warburton with Weir are already prepring list of signings etc etc

Thank god the thought of McCall yet another Walter/Ally?McDowall era clone no thanks

New exciting football with young eager and professionally coached athletes on the field not over the hill overweight and over paid wasters like Ally's entire signing policy

Hope Warburton can persuade Brentford to sell and McLeod to return. Building a side round him is the future

McCall showed against Motherwell that he eta sentiment get in the way of being a Rangers manager. He is not the man for Rangers

my thoughts on what is going on.

Warberton: If we get this guy, great, he could be a Wenger type, good financially, willing to focus on youth. I think Weir would be a decent addition to staff because he has a very tactical mind defensively and could arrange the back line.

Cathro: Cathro would have been my personal first choice on a long contract, he is young, he has coached most good youth in Scotland and is willing to fight against our crappy development farce in the uk. He also has good contacts in Portugal and Spain to get decent affiliates and loans in. In an ideal world I would maybe have Warburton with Cathro as assistant and Weir 1st team coach or Cathro head of youth development.

Mccall: Whilst he isn't my first choice, please look what he had to cope with, a depleted backroom staff, players who were unmotivated, too old, too inexperienced for the pressure of playoffs, or just untalented they didn't have a whole lot of time to get used to a new system. I think if he gets the job then he deserves a pre season and the chance to buy in players maybe bring in some actual coaching staff.

Billy Davies, Walter Smith, Alex Mcleish: You better be kidding.

I'm sure these guys will get far better offers than the nonsense that is the rangers job. Stuff that

Rangers are still a big pull. This is obvious by the amount of non rangers people still posting on this page. Whorburton for me. Cathro a bit too risky.

good afternoon all, got a serious question for you all, if yogi hughes was offered the job would you accept that you have got a good manager that plays attractive football on a shoestring budget, or would you be raging cause he played for us for a year?,

One small bonus on Derek McInnes staying at Aberdeen is that at least celtic will have to be at the top of their game to win the league, should they have as many slip ups as a couple of years back when Ross County among others beat them the title would be a close run battle that plus the fact McInnes is getting so much from his team they are improving year by year.

I also think from Rangers perspective it will be great coming back to a league set up with as many as 3 or 4 good teams at the top as I am sure Hearts will be in the fight at the top half of the league and ICT will be a better team after the confidence boost their Cup win will have given them. In fact if Dundee Utd can maintain their best form there could be 5 good teams in SPFL for the first time in many a year, throw in a vastly improved Rangers under Warburton/Weir and the Scottish top division may be looking at a resurgance in the years to come, with the likelyhood Hibs will be back there too.

OP, get some therapy. My frontier psychiatry diagnosis is schizophrenia. A Rangers fans who wants 4 or 5 potential opponents to be well?
Some people on here go on about obsessed Celtic fans on the site, but you take the biscuit. You obviously want 4 or 5 strong teams because you hope they will stop Celtic winning the league, or at least give them a challenge, because we are not in a position to do so.
But bear in mind, these teams could still be strong the following season. If we get up, that would make it difficult for us to make top six (I am not convinced we will be as strong as you seem to think).
To dig up an old cliche. Be careful want you wish for.

I see that Manchester Utd have released 22 year old centre half Tom Thorpe to the surprise of a lot of people,

Thorpe is apparently highly rated down and captained Manchester Utd to the under 21s league title. He was seen as a shining light coming through the academy and was tipped for the very top which makes his release a surprise to a lot of peopel.

I think this is the exact type of player we should be making a move for before someone beats us to it. There are no rumours of this move happening it merely a suggestion from me of the type of players we should be looking to bring in.

if Manchester United released him there has to be a reason

{Ed001's Note - he wasn't quite good enough for them to give him first team football and so they released him to go and find it elsewhere for his sake.}

First time poster. Whilst a lot of the chat is about the next manager, I would like Rangers to pay serious attention to our non existent scouting policy
