Watch out Ally me thinks Walter
wants his old job back

Believable7 Unbelievable4

The evening times says that if bria kennedy comes in, oor walter will be installed as a director of football
deejay

Agree1 Disagree4

Again walter knew about what was going at the club dose none of you want new,fresh blood to run the club.so we celtic fans have no cause to slag you,we are loving it just now that things are tough and hope it will go on for a while yet,but would rather see you saved,and have no money dont want liqudation as thats a cop out. b

Agree7 Disagree4

To the dhim didnt see you slagging us off when walter was winning us a load of trophies

Agree5 Disagree5

With money the club did not have to spend on the players it took to win thats why you are in this s*it you are paying for it now b

Agree7 Disagree3

Walter wasn't winning trophies....he was conning trophies....haven't you been reading or watching the news lately? {Ed003's Note - For crying out loud,give it a rest!}

Agree15 Disagree4

Give what a rest Ed?
it's the biggest story to hit scottish football since Celtic won the European Cup {Ed001's Note - it is also boring to keep repeating yourself over and over, that is for 5 year olds to do, not supposedly mature adults.}

Agree5 Disagree0

13 Mar 2012 21:46:09
Ed, has nobody suggested to rangers to ask the season ticket holders to pay for the old firm game.. An average 30 pounds say 1.5 million revenue..good idea or not what do u think. {Ed001's Note - a lot of people have suggested asking the season ticket holders to pay at the door. Not so sure it is a good idea in difficult times, better to have collection, in my opinion.}

Believable2 Unbelievable2

That is so outrageous. well meant but unthinking. who would own this money ? no collections. no black and red scarves. hold your nerve and pay nothing. let the administrators do their job. let the truth come out and the chips fall. let the guilty be cursed and cast into the past and the future begin. rangers fans have bought season tickets, sportswear, probably drank loads of the sponsors beer and contributed to the business in so many other ways. start shouting 'no more money !' and see what happens. nobody has thought to try that, have they ?
so money is collected in buckets, without receipts or accounts and just handed over to a business with massive debts. think it through. you need skilled people to count it and transport it and bank it (where!) and that all costs money it goes on and on. dont throw petrol on the fire.

Agree8 Disagree4

Didn't realise counting was considered a skill... Maybe it is to some people.

just a question edd,how can people take over a club when mr whyte owns it , me thinks it will take years off court rangeling until someone can take ownership off rangers off mr whyte , can you shed some light on this {Ed001's Note - depends on the make up of the board, Liverpool's owners were ousted by the board out voting them and accepting the bid.}

Believable0 Unbelievable0

I didnt think rangers had a board {Ed001's Note - you have to have a board of directors, every company has to have at least two on the board, one must be company secretary as well. Not sure about the make up of Rangers board though, if there were 3 executive members, then 2 could vote against Whyte and take control. But he would have deciding vote anyway if there were just 2 on it.}

Sick of the negative posts regarding the buy out. lots of gloom merchant Celtic fans questioning motives for Paul Murray blue knights consortium,far east/American interest..saying why would anyone want to buy rangers?using the war cry that there's no money to be made in Scotland well what the fuzz is Dermot 'midas'desmond doing here?Celtic and rangers are global brands there's plenty money to be made through different ventures plus Paul Murray and the blue knights are rangers men do you think they would stand back and let the club die?there's a new breed of sand heeds emerging bears.they were wanting there jelly and ice cream when we died but we didn't now they are bitter and paranoid about being swept aside when this mess is sorted.then it will be business as usual from the conspiracy theorists

Lukewarm and milky

Believable5 Unbelievable7

What is to stop the adminstrators from stopping paying the bills they would have paid and they then go to the Trust saying we have no money to pay the police etc. The fans end up paying for running costs that the administrator should and could have paid.

Believable3 Unbelievable3

They are bound by the courts. they must show all documentation and findings to the courts. atleast that is how i understand it

There is an article saying this fans fighting fund is doing fantastic...some old lady has gone in and given up £20 of her pension....Now there are two schools of thought on this 1. Good on you old lady. 2. WTF are they thinking about taking £20 off an old ladys pension when they got themselves into this mess now they want peoples pensions...how much has David Murray contributed to the Fans fighting fund given that he is very sorry!

Why not donate it to a charity , you know , someone who deserves it

jimi88

Agree8 Disagree9

You should have sent it back to the tax man and asked him to take it off the rangers outstanding bill b

Agree6 Disagree6

Whilst i hate to agree with them - in a way they are right atleast wait until there is a share issue or get something for your money. tickets, scarfs, tops....

ryanrfc

Agree3 Disagree5

Well done mate - you are a true blue, I will be donating a few hundred quid. I will save my 500 quid investment for the share issue.

J

Agree5 Disagree4

Is this the share issue for the newco??as liquidation a cert!!!! bookies would give u odds off about 1/20 onn for liquidation..consorteiums trying to get in place for the newco,hope yous pick an honest credible lot.as for years the fagan types have tarnished& ruined your reputation forever.....as for the fff fund,that will be to pay electrig,gas,day to day running off ibroke...only hope in hell is a billionaire,,none on the horizon!

Agree5 Disagree3

13 Mar 2012 18:55:52
If anybody takes over rangers,i would prefer it if it wasent a conditional,as these in a consortium will not take liable for a possiable 75 million tax,which if found guilty would leave club no better on,but others again richer,i mean i would happily give a few million knowing if it goes belly up got 120 million to split,easy money,if someone said il buy club & if hit pay anyrhing fair play,unless this is fully the case i would question anybodys morels,
I dont agree with a share issue as would have to get them of whyte £1 for 85% is legal as it comes,tiketus could go either way but whyte still in driving seat,this new liquadation law if thing go after that its finished,
Cant get head round any of it,

Believable0 Unbelievable0

I cant get my head round that post

Agree8 Disagree0

The new law he refers to is that debt libilities can be attained to assest sold on.

This would mean that even if Rangers were liquidated any inheritor of the company would be liable for the big tax case. I'm not sure if it is a new law or a new interpreation of the law. It is aimed specificaly at phonix companiers been set up and sold to previous directors (or their hairs ,spouces etc) which effective just creates an identical comapny with identical owner ship but minus the debt. It is particulary common for big inverster to come in to a company over extend it, then with draw credit, then buy the company from the administrators for a pense in the pound settlement. It is carried out often with the conivance of the administator. Sound familiar

Agree0 Disagree0

13 Mar 2012 17:36:27
ED, a lot of people doubt paul murray and his blue knights and at first I did aswell but I am now beginning to warm to the idea now knowing some of the people he will have involved what's your take on his plan and is having ticketus involved a good idea ?

GovanEastLoyal {Ed001's Note - my worry with him is funding, he simply doesn't have enough to complete any takeover on his own. But it was a good idea to get Ticketus involved, that would lower the initial costs as they can be paid in shares. It will all depend on who he gets on board with him and whether they can work together in the long term, which is a difficult thing to do.}

Believable0 Unbelievable0

It's not just paul maurray, he is just the face of a consortium which also has douglas park and a few other money men

ok so whytee makes 10 or 15 million...let him have his scummy money ....as long as we get oor club back and get ridda this con man and move on to bigger and better things which will be in the form of decent showings in europe ....we cant win the league every year ffs...but between us and the other mob we can both be very successfull on the fitba map.....get ridda the anger everybody and lets get scottish fitba back on the map....we win it one year ...they win the next year...
even 2 in a row would be suffice....nuff of this 9 in a row crap....that wiz then ...this is now.......deecee

Believable6 Unbelievable4

Aye say Whyte walks away with 10m, that's another 10m that someone else will need to put into the team ? Really can't see how rangers can get out of this all Murray & co are doing is the same as Whyte with ticketsus deal ? All in all rangers need close to 30m with most of that being cash up front to help them out of this & that's not inc the BTC. rangers need a new team more or less too many players over 30+ with players like Davis,naismith & mcgreegor going to be there big sellers that might need to be sold to make way for a new team, not rubbing salt in the wound put look what AMc did for Celtic ? 9.5m from some mob Russia payed for izzy kayal ki etc & look at them now if we sell them for a average price of 3m each then money made ?

Think about it from a business point of view, spl has pennies in it so why spend millions saving a club & get next to no return for it unless you sell your big stars?

Lenny

Agree4 Disagree3

I think your right unforunately the sting has stung. The only way out is to take the beating. I don't doubt Rangers will get back in some form, and start winning again but not in the short term. As fo AMcG think Wilson, Boomsong Hutton

This Blue Knights Consortium has a real dodgy feeling about it. As previous message said why Did Paul Murray not buy the club for a £1 instead of Craig Whyte when he had the chance?

Obviously with huge debts no one would touch the gers. Craig Whyte was called in to take the heat for going into Administration and let SDM, PM & Co appear to have clean hands, its a smash and grab for Whyte something he knows all about, as hes no patsy!

HMRC now have to decide do they cut their losses and take 10% or see the club go into recevership and maybe get even less!

My uncle works their and he say the Blue Knoghts are just a stalking horse to get others out of the bushes as they cant seriously come up iwth the cash!

Remember PM served with SDM during the EBT tax evasion scheme so how can he just walk back into the club. I know as loyal gers fans will support anyone who saves their club, but must we be blind too....

Believable9 Unbelievable1

Interesting, but HMRC will be setting a dangerous precedent for football clubs if its accepts the Blue Knights bid and writes off their massive tax bill, just cant see it !

Agree4 Disagree2

Was his bid not rejected?
ryanrfc

Agree0 Disagree1

Paul Murray didn't buy the club last year because his proposal would not have seen Lloyds paid there £18 million whereas Whytes proposal did. Lloyds threatened to freeze Rangers credit unless they did the deal with Whyte.

Rangers fans, please donate into this fund set up by Walter Smith, we know that Walter will be in control of it so no worries that Whyte will get our money, no matter how little you can afford it will all count if we all donate, but we all need to rally and protect our 140 year history. WATP!

Rusty the laughing tim here!!all I read from you rangers fans is bla blah bla blah bla.look at the situation from a neutral!Paul Murray hasn't got the financial power and he needs everybody and anybody for this consortium!why would you want them all for as I said there business men in it to make money so the more people the more the pot needs to be split!!!!see while we chase the treble you's need to stop buying a £10 scarf and double it,with 52'000 people on a saturday that equals just over a million which could pay hearts and if you's cancel your holiday to Saltcoats donate that and that will pay for the strips to be washed!!hail hail rusty the treble chasing tim!!

Believable8 Unbelievable12

Thats why it's called a consortium as he needs more people on board.

Agree0 Disagree1

Why should we give Hearts money? You do realise the Wallace money isn't due yet don't you? Fail Fail

Agree3 Disagree3

You dhims will believe this season will be remembered as Neil Lennons first league triumph and a possible treble winner right??!!

Wrong pal, it will be forever known as the season we went into administration. So when you toast your success with an ice cold can of tennants super just remember no one outwith you deluded selik fans even consider it an achievement!!

J1985

Agree5 Disagree7

I am sick of reading this rubbish a deal of 10p in the pound will be made with tax man it wont happen goverment have said no companys will get deals anymore fact and as for all the bidders that want rangers that is rubbish the only 1 is p murray and he does not have the money he is running about trying 2 get any tom @@@@ and harry 2 join him and by the way mr murray u cant buy a club with conditions u want 2 put in if rangers dont go into liq all partys will want money owed no matter who ownes club fact

Agree4 Disagree2

As I said there business men in it to make money

So what's the reason Dermot Desmond is sitting with over 50% of Celtic PLC shares worth around 280p when he bought them, now worth a lowly 28p. Maybe he's the same of a lot of business men who invest in sports clubs:- for the love of his club.

No often you're right rusty, and guess what you're wrong again! Enjoy the easiest league title you will ever earn.

pipeman

Agree4 Disagree4

Rusty dermot Desmond is my dad tim!is it just shares you make money from?don't think so,there's more avenues in football you can explore than you actually think to make money!o is that me right again mmmmmm think so!Desmond and Murray are to different business men!1 used his head and the other let his ego run the club!you pick which is which hail hail rusty the genius tim

Agree1 Disagree2

Used his head? squeaky clean Desmond!
look up the ESAT case rusty.

Agree2 Disagree1

@Pipeman......Desmond doesn't own anything near 50% of Celtic shares. if you actually knew what you were talking about, then you would know that if you were to purchase over 34% of shares, then you would have to submit a bid for a takeover, and we all know that no one person owns Celtic outright....and god only knows how you managed to make up the share price, as they currently stand at around £35, and NOT 28p lol!! big big difference, but that doesn't surprise me, you're a bear, and you all seem to have a difficulty in understanding numbers

Agree4 Disagree1

Aye he used his head to sit with a coy that is worth less than 10% of what he paid for it over the last 15 years.

Can I just state here about a potential new owner for rangers. So far duff and phelps have not forfeited craig whytes majority shareholding in the club which he does not have to sell if he doesn't want to. Any buyer will have to get over that hurdle before trying to buy anything.

Great man, now we have a p!ssing channel 4 (I would guess) "dispatches" to look forward to. I watch and enjoy dispatches like the one in the far east that nailed Bryan robson an his cronnies been part of more than one club, even had sir alex talking to one of them on the phone after a game. Did you see that one ed? Well they are brutal man, and any wrong doing no matter how small dispatches will bust your baws! Could be a good thing though get EVERYTHING out in the open.
PaulRFC {Ed001's Note - I did watch that one, was disappointed to see how far Robson has fallen, despite him being an ex-United player I always liked him as a person. When he was in charge at Boro, my parents lived in the same village as the training ground and I would go and watch the training while in town. Robson and Viv Anderson used to give me so much stick over my Liverpool tops etc, but it was very much a family feel. I used to have pics of me doing their warm up runs with Gazza, while the team and Robson and Anderson were giving him grief for being beaten by an amateur. It is not like Robson even needs the money either, but greed gets to a lot of people.}

Believable3 Unbelievable0

Yes mate it was shocking to see robson saying what he was saying, think he was a man utd ambassador of sort at the time, well if its that type of investigating "dispatches"style, then I would say this past 6-8 weeks will seem like butlins compared to what channel 4s hacks will dig up,oh dear jon snows coming for us lads!

Ed, the person who posted this shocking statement. why the hell does it get coverage with such a broad demeaning attack? this is meant to be a rumours site is it not ed? {Ed001's Note - it was an opinion, I fail to see the relevance in what type of site it is. Surely it shows just why you shouldn't be thinking of boycotting other teams? Last thing needed by Rangers is for everyone to turn on them completely, there is a CVA to be negotiated after all!}

Believable9 Unbelievable4

Tthey have turned against us already so if theyre willing to fleece us then they deserve all they get boycott tanadice ladz

Agree6 Disagree6

As a Rangers fan who resides in Dundee and an avid watcher/supporter of football in general i have attended plenty of matches at tannadice with no Rangers or Celtic for that matter playing against yourselves where bigotry hatred and absolute bile was spouted by not the minority but the majority namely against Dundee and Aberdeen your condemnation of us is almost laughable.Shaun H

Agree7 Disagree3

I thought you lot were meant to have dignity. I dont see it from you. It is Rangers that have not paid Dundee U so what gives you lot the right to say boycott them because they want their money. Look what your club done to Airdrie and more recently Dunfermline 9(ALMOST) but as Dunfermline played ball its all rosey with them.

Ian(54 and subtracting)

Agree9 Disagree2

Lol shaun u say ur a gers fan but finish saying ur condemnation of us...look utd (and other teams)have fleeced the fans many times with their inflated prices for these games...wot the gers fans do with their cash is entirely their choice...however if u hadnt been so snydey with ur comments then we would have filled the place....look at dunfermline..we came to a deal with them and the fans are goin to their game instead of the utd game so they wil actually profit from it..perhaps u should have taken a leaf from their book....remember dont bite the hand that feeds u...the OF has kept many a team afloat for many a year

Agree4 Disagree4

At the end of the day we need to pack ibrox every week so why pay shocking prices to go to tanadump and fill there directors pockets. Save your money for Ibrox!!

Agree4 Disagree5

I'll tell ya man, f£ck utd I've never liked them even before all this, can't stand their city, their fans, or their "stadium", they sing bile about everyone but as long as your not the old firm it seems to be accepted, tyncastle, tannadice, Easter road, do they not have ears at these dumps

Agree5 Disagree0

Ian(54 and blah blah)
why did celtic not help out Airdrie?

"Blair Nimmo, of accountancy firm KPMG, announced that the club’s assets have been put up for sale, but there is not much left to shift.
The contracts of the manager and players expired at the weekend, and the only other assets, along with the club’s name, are a small commercial property in the centre of town, and the stadium. Even the 10,000-seater ground can hardly be considered an asset - the land is not owned by Airdrie, but by North Lanarkshire Council. In fact, the stadium has been more of a burden than an asset, due to the crippling 6.5 million cost of construction.
Nimmo believes that there could still be a buyer for the stadium, and wasted no time in making an open invitation to Celtic to buy the ground and use it as a training base for just 1 million. The Scottish Premier League champions already use New Broomfield Stadium for reserve matches.
"Somebody will come forward because it is such a good stadium," said Nimmo. "It is almost new and cost 6.5 million to build. We would want at least a seven-figure sum for it.
"It would be ideal for community use by the local council - or for a club like Celtic to use it as a training ground."

Am i missing something or my laptop is on the blink but what are these posts related too?Shaun H

Agree2 Disagree0

Ehm, am from N.I. and the fact is the majority of NI are Rangers/glentoran or rangers/linfield and they don't want to see their team going down just like the fans on the mainland, why does it matter anyway? N.I is as much scottish as it is british, ( ULSTER SCOTS ) so their is nothing wrong, that was a bit of a pointless question, am surprised green jhedi didnt answer your question, steeeeve

Agree6 Disagree2

Another point mate, am sure dublin and maybe oukd try and help out. celtic if it came to it, i read the D R and it said we were going to invite wet wet wet lol, maybe the dubliners would get the wolfe tones ( no offence ) haha, nah rod stewart and U2 would probs raise more money lol, steeeeve

@steeeeve; and why would i be interested in anything concerning that? Rangers fans from another country dont interest me in the slightest.Nice to know your thinking about me though............green jhedi

Oi. Wet wet wets erstwhile manager here. Dont u drag their name thru the mud. They were great ambassadors for scotland. Even tho they supported a garbage team!

To the unamed poster that said oi? if you read the post correctly then you would notice that he was talkin about U2 or rod stewart doin a concert instead of the wolfe tones, i didn't see anythin regarding “ dragging“ wet wet wet‘s name through the mud, IMO probably better than rod stewart and U2 anyday ( having a laugh btw ) lol

Good Day Fellow Bears
Negative thinking and negative press.
One is as bad as the other, I understand the bad feeling towards the Arabs, but lets get ourselves organised, yes boycott the game in numbers, however lets have a presence complete with banners, let the watching public and the duet city slickers see how much the Scottish game will miss the cash from our massive support.

Save your money for the home games boys, lets make every penny a rangers penny.

See channel 4 are now jumping on the stick the boot in band wagon, investigating and muck racking, lets not forget all these people boys, when the dust settles and we show football what our beloved club are about, we need to remember the part that the following sc** played in kicking when we were down.

Dr White and his bandocoudies!
The SFA
The SPL
Them fae the dark side!! (On this occasion not ginger!)
Duet city slickers and there management, that includes Peter Peter the pumpkin eater.
(They worked overtime to scupper any transferee moves). Hind sight maybe just as well!
Sir D M (Danger Mouse).
The Sun, D R, and so on list is endless the amount of boots going in when we were confronted by our darkest hour, lest we forget.

So I say to you fellow bears, chins up and turn out when it matters, home games home money, we were once we will be again, and we will remember.

Its great being a bear.

Believable8 Unbelievable9

How dare anyone investigate rangers!

please, just hurry up and close down

Agree7 Disagree7

Oh dear,could you explain your list?Why should you not be investigated? Why should other clubs not be demanding punishment?You seem to be deflecting any blame from rangers,why?The rangers fans are blameless in this,i think thats accepted,but your club has to carry the can if found guilty.You cite the tabloids but cant you see they backed Murray through the dodgy years by printing anything he told them,and now the truth is coming out they have to cover their ass.As for scuppering transfers,did ally not try to add 30k p/m to your wage bill when jobs were under threat? Seems to me that,if found guilty,your club brought it all on themselves.

Craig Whyte remains a significant obstacle to any takeover of Rangers and cannot simply be wished away, a leading football finance expert has warned.

Whyte, the largest shareholder in the Ibrox club, was written off as “absolutely irrelevant” to Rangers’ medium- or long-term future by Paul Clark of administrators Duff & Phelps. And would-be owner Paul Murray has talked of launching a share issue which would bring Rangers supporters on board.

But Neil Patey of Ernst & Young is convinced that Whyte will only become “irrelevant” if he agrees to do so. And he believes that any share issue of the kind proposed by Murray could only proceed with the consent of the present shareholders, Whyte included.

“Everybody, except Craig Whyte himself, appears to be assuming that when the club is sold, Whyte will no longer be a factor,” Patey said yesterday. “I can’t see why this should be the case.

“I’ve discussed this issue with several colleagues who work in the same field, and they are of the same opinion. If Whyte refuses to sell his shares and says ‘I still want to be involved with Rangers’, it’s not clear to me how the administrators or any possible new owners could deal with that.

“The administrators cannot sell a company’s shares. Craig Whyte still owns his shares. And any new share issue” – which could dilute Whyte’s holding – “has to be made with the agreement of the existing shareholders.”

In practical terms, it may be correct to say that Whyte has no future at Ibrox. He has not been sighted near the stadium since announcing he would stay away from the home match with Kilmarnock in order not to be a distraction, and the administrators have suggested he has no legal entitlement to the club or its fixed assets.

“I don’t see him as a secured creditor and I don’t see him as ongoing owner of Rangers,” Clark said at the weekend. “In terms of Rangers’ future medium to long term he is absolutely irrelevant.

“We’ve seen no evidence whatsoever of any investment by Craig Whyte into Rangers. We can’t see how he can have secured-creditor status. He has no rights, in my view, to Ibrox or Murray Park.”

But Whyte’s physical absence from Rangers, and his lack of secured-creditor status as suggested by Clark, do not alter his status as a shareholder. And that status could yet prove even more costly to the club if any players activate the “Whyte clause” which was inserted into some of the new contracts agreed last week. That clause was insisted upon by some of those players before they would agree to the massively reduced terms which were put to them by the new administrators. And, although it was intended as a statement of their opposition to Whyte, it could have a more tangible impact on any new owners.

Posing a question re the following scenario fellow bears....RFC goes into liquidation, a consortium buys up all the assets Ibrox, Murray Park etc, the consortium founds a newco Rangers, the newco Rangers successfully applys for entry into league 2 in England by buying Portsmouth or Port Vale licence (should either go under). Basically we sign off from Scottish football as the most successful domestic club of all time, and start afresh in the lucrative English leagues. Would you be happy with this? Aggree or disagree. (Ed, don't know why this wasn't posted last night but I'll try again, cheers)

Believable9 Unbelievable7

My god! again with the english nonsense.rangers would have to MOVE TO AND PLAY in england assuming the FA accepted the application. you fancy that?

Agree4 Disagree0

The english thing will never happen.....
However I didnt see Cardiff, Swansea or Wrexham MOVE TO England? {Ed001's Note - oh for heaven's sake! They played in the English league before there was a Welsh one for them to feature in. Totally different situation, why do people not understand that???}

Agree4 Disagree2

Ok Ed, so there wasn't a welsh league for Cardiff or Swansea to play in when they joined the English league. However Berwick rangers are an English team playing in the Scottish leagues. Now they joined the Scottish league in 1905 when the English league had been running since 1888, and were officially elected as a member of the Scottish league in 1955 when the english leagues were more than well established. So there is a stated case for a Domestic british team playing in one of the other home nation's leagues. We all know britain is a special case in FIFA and uefa's eyes, and we know that money talks in football. So don't tell me that this could never happen. {Ed001's Note - seriously? If you are going to believe that is relevant, when it is only recently that UEFA and FIFA have had any worries about Super Leagues etc, then I give up. You just run along and believe what ever you want to believe, but you will just end up disappointed when Rangers aren't in the English league next season.}

Agree1 Disagree1

Maybe AIG should buy BERWICK rangers. Now there's a cunning plan

Agree0 Disagree0

So basically Ed001 you have no answer to why Berwick are in the Scottish league when they'r an English club but since it doesn't fit the welsh scenario you'll just state that's it's irrelevant, nice. Also I never said rangers would be in the English league and in fact I think it's highly unlikely that the old firm ever will play in england. But I don't think you can say it will never happen as there is already a stated case for it. So I will 'run along' now and leave you to your condescending editing. {Ed001's Note - I answered it, quite plainly try reading through what I said about UEFA and their issues with the Super League. Also try reading UEFA statutes and you will learn a thing or two. Condescending? Yes, because you are wasting people's time with something that has been explained a million times over. What stated case? You have stated no case for it, nor can you, because there is none.}

Agree1 Disagree0

Ed001, why dont you try reading my post..Berwick Rangers are the stated case. Also who's time am I wasting? If people are reading this site then I would say that they are enjoying their free time, why would my post be wasting that time, it's not as if they are getting paid to read the site? Also what is the name of this site? Ah yes, Rangers Banter. One of the definitions of banter is 'Good-humored, playful conversation'. You have freely admitted to being condescending, a definition of that is 'Acting in a way that betrays a feeling of patronizing superiority'. I dont think that that is a suitable way for an editor on this site to act or behave. You are there to edit, review and assist people in their posts. Not to be condescending and patronising towards them. {Ed001's Note - and as I have pointed out Berwick Rangers are not relevant, as they joined the Scottish league before UEFA changed their regulations due to fears over the creation of a super league. What is so difficult to understand about that? As for the rest, it is not your job to tell me how to run my website. You are quite welcome to go elsewhere if you don't like it.}

Agree1 Disagree0

As far as I'm aware Ed001 the conditions for competing in a "foreign" league competition are set on a case-by-case basis by FIFA as well as the respective confederation and national football associations involved. There are many examples outwith the British Isles of this taking place. Therefore as the Editor and the one proclaiming to be superior to the users of this website I ask you to educate me on the Uefa statutes, quoting the article numbers if you dont mind too greatly, so that I will be at least half as knowledgable as your good self. Also it may not be my job to tell you how to run your website but I am a user of the site and I kindly remind you that without us you dont have a website. Cheers. {Ed001's Note - the rules are all in here: http://www.uefa.com/uefa/documentlibrary/index.html I am sure you will be able to find the correct piece of legislation without a problem.}

Just a question for you boys on here. Given that the liklihood is that HMRC will not agree a CVA (policy preventing them from doing so), who actually believes that a consortium would be willing to invest in the region of £100 million just to clear the debt then invest a further estimated £40 million in running costs for the forthcoming season? If the debt is cleared then obviously Rangers keep their history but on the other hand part of this history is about cheating and corruption at the highest level.
Does is not sound like a better option for an investor to hold back until Rangers are liquidated thus allowing him/them to invest in a clean club and without the dark cloud of corruption and possible sanctions hanging over it?

This is just a question to see what your opinions are.

Believable5 Unbelievable5

No-one knows the result of the big tax case yet.

Agree6 Disagree1

I think everyone knows the result of hmrc result, GUILTY as f***. Ha.

Agree5 Disagree7

HMRC are quite entitled not to agree to a CVA but in doing so, they would put rangers into liquidation and would receive absolutely zilch!

So it is in the best interests of the HMRC and the public purse to get something out of rangers.

Agree4 Disagree2

Sorry, you do realise that if you are liquidated then your assets are sold off to pay debts. HMRC will have payment, one way or another. Get you're head out of the sand before it's too late.

Agree2 Disagree2

If liquidated all assets are sold to pay creditors

Agree3 Disagree0

HMRC can not force liquidation if 75%of creditors agree to CVA learn the law before posting about it

Agree1 Disagree0

Its not 75% of creditors, its 80% of the total debt held. There is a difference. Work out how much s owed in total, how much to HMRC and then work out how much of the debt is owed to HMRC. Its more than 20% of the total debt therefore they alone can block any CVA.

Agree1 Disagree0

There will undoubtedly be years of litigation between the parties no matter what, but the administration will have to be resolved pretty quickly. So it's either liquidation, or a takeover. The takeover route involves both Whyte selling his shares, and HMRC walking away with pennies in the pound. A couple of major obstacles, I would suggest. So liquidation it is, then

The scarf costs a tenner with £7.50 profit for the club.

Agree2 Disagree0

The only ones to have issued a press release to the DR is probably more accurate. That's why D&P stated that there are two types of bidder - those courting the press and those quietly in contact with D&R.

The bid process is always long. Bidders will need to look at "the books". They will need to know why there isn't £9m in that account, only 3. They will need to resolution on ownership of that money, on the value of anything owed to Whyte, and some kind of closure with HMRC. Then there's the SPL to deal with.

D&P may find a prefered bidder but there will be conditions attached, so that's just the start.

Agree1 Disagree0
