Mr McCall is going to have a lot of hard decisions to make, especially those decisions about which players he is going to have to let go, to free up the monies he requires for fresh faces coming into Ibrox.

I would keep Templeton and let go every player over the age of 25.

I would bring back ALL the loanees.

I would send back, if possible, ALL the Newcastle players.

I would contact Chelsea; Man Utd; Man City; Liverpool; Southampton; for help, especially about their under 21's that require experience

I would contact Brentford!

I would be looking for a new captain.

Believable1 Unbelievable6

13 Mar 2015 22:26:50
Why would he send back vuckic when he is probably the most talented player in the squad, and has played well in most games he has been involved in?and the young lad streete looked promising, if used properly when fit they can be an asset to us for rest of season,

13 Mar 2015 22:56:47
Royal blue, you say mccall has a decision to make on which players to keep and which ones to let go, there's every possibility that this won't be mccall's decision to make mate as he may not be the rangers manager longterm, let's wait and see what happens in these 11 games from now until the end of the season instead of jumping the gun

Agree1 Disagree0

13 Mar 2015 23:51:59
Contact brentford what? Macleod back on loan?

Agree0 Disagree0

Royal,

Thankfully we will be relying on a very experience group of individuals in our boardroom, plus a new management team with years of experience in UK football to make all the important decisions.

Mr King has decided to go with the tried and tested football policy of board and management deciding.

Chill out dude and let the experts deal with our future they know what they are doing.

14 Mar 2015 14:18:02
Who is a better leader than mccoist in that dressing room? You don't know whY goes on in the changing rooms, granted he's not a talented centre half like tough or Hansen or cannavaro but was Derek Johnstone? He did a job and that's excactly what mcculloch has done for 4 years, filled a gap. Who else could be captain? Wallace, law, Richie foster?

Agree0 Disagree0

14 Mar 2015 14:18:19
I obviously meant mcculloch and not mccoist in that post lol

I am not Stuart McCall's biggest fan, just not my type of manager, but hey we are all different, aren't we?

I like the type of manager that commands respect, a manager that kicks arses (when needed),
a manager that the players would walk through fire to play for. Catch my drift?

But I hope I am wrong; I hope that the person I am looking for IS Stuart McCall. I hope we are the making of the man, and that the man is the making of The Famous Glasgow Rangers.

The BlueBells are Blue.

Heard that newcastle loaners gael bigirimana and kevin mbabu nearing full fitbess and should be involved in the first team in the next few games

Believable2 Unbelievable1

13 Mar 2015 18:53:04
I see lots of anti McCulloch comments and rightly so, but with him being club captain I think McCall will include him. if he does, I hope he sticks him in the midfield, because he is NO defender

Believable4 Unbelievable2

I hope he sticks him in the For Sale Bin he is no footballer, sell by date expired 2 years ago and at 70k+ a month we could have 7 young out of contract Euro players or 12 youth players for the money wasted on him.

Big decision time McCall I fear McCulloch seems to choose himself in the Rangers team. The best we have played this season was when the SFA banned McCulloch

Agree3 Disagree1

13 Mar 2015 20:37:13
His only position in midfield if we are playing for a draw. Surely not tomorrow. New manager, new captain if he has the balls.

Agree4 Disagree1

13 Mar 2015 22:08:49
KT and Tommie I agree with your feelings and respect your opinions but hand on heart can you honestly see McCulloch being left out?

He has a long tongue and doesn't mind whose a** it licks

Agree0 Disagree1

14 Mar 2015 02:54:22
Wee bill explain about long tongue comment? There's 10 games left, he's been captain since third division it won't change this season, wether he starts or not am guessing that he probs will start. Good to hear McCall has been telling a few home truths to the squad, a look foward to the first 11 against livi with interest

good to see we have so many potential managers on this site i'm sure stuart mccoll will look into all our team selections, just hope he bins mcculloch and I will get behind any team he picks as long as we get a result cause no matter what anybody says on here its all about 3 points from all of our last 11 games

Agree0 Disagree2

13 Mar 2015 19:20:24
as Stuart McCall said you could get 50 Rangers supporters in a room and they would all have different teams so I think no matter what team plays tomorrow we just need to support them for the full 90 mins and try and not get on their backs. if we get right behind them I think it will be the difference in getting promotion or not as walking out to 50,000 bears singing their hearts out must give you a lift. the hairs on the back of my neck are standing up just thinking about it. GOOD LUCK STUART MCCALL

Just reading on another site that Lee McCulloch has told his out-of-contract players they had better start performing for Stuart McCall because their previous displays are not worth new deals. hope he is counting himself in on that as well, another quote this time from Stuart McCall says he has already decided their fitness reserves need boosting. just what most people have been saying all season that they are not fit as they should be.GOOD LUCK STUART MCCALL

Believable4 Unbelievable0

13 Mar 2015 22:00:32
St end of season there are about 13 players out of contract including Millsr and Boyd, however the new manager is also out of contract so there is little point in the players trying to impress him! It is going to be difficult to attract a quality manager until the club is stable and the manager knows what division Rangers will play in. There will he no stability at Rangers till next season.

Agree1 Disagree0

13 Mar 2015 15:59:35
Does the DR trawl the net for anything that is anti Rangers. Two reports regarding fans. Nothing about a Scottish international player sitting drunk in Glasgow City center just before a cup semi final.

Believable8 Unbelievable2

13 Mar 2015 17:12:40
To be fair the 2 fans articles were regarding racist tweets while a story about a footballer drunk is hardly the same thing.

Agree2 Disagree3

13 Mar 2015 17:47:11
Grahem has resigned, and I'm pretty sure sellik won't be happy at all that their captain is filmed lying drunk in the street, think Greig, McNeil Gough Etc, Graham should never have been appointed, it was probably the one mistake the board have made yet, but its been sorted quickly, they tried to have someone they thought represented the fans, to show solidarity with the support,

Agree3 Disagree1

13 Mar 2015 18:18:24
Aye Scott Brown is a class act. Hee hee

Agree2 Disagree1

13 Mar 2015 18:56:52
What is really funny is that we had a couple of bhoys on the site the other day lecturing various posters for being more upset about Chris Graham's issue being reported than the actual issue itself, and now we have loads of them on their forum slating the Sun for reporting that Peanut Heid was sitting in the street mortal .The Sellik way.

Agree1 Disagree1

13 Mar 2015 19:23:18
If they hadn't had a cup final on Sunday I don't see anything wrong with it. I've been far worse lol

Agree0 Disagree1

13 Mar 2015 19:53:09
What does it matter to Rangers if the entire Celtic team are all on the lash? Rangers are still in deep sh1t so maybe it's best to concentrate on how Dave King and co go about reviving Rangers before supporters take any comfort from the Scott Brown story. All that has happened once again is embarrassing stories regarding Rangers. A lot of crap still to be cleaned up.

Agree2 Disagree1

13 Mar 2015 19:59:08
You're not the Selik captain pal, someone who has a responsibility towards setting examples for thousands of kids.I said earlier there are plenty of places for these guys to go for a quiet drink if that's what they want.Lying about pavements in the toon is not on, you can take the man oot the gutter and all that.

Agree2 Disagree1

13 Mar 2015 20:37:03
What does it matter? Coming from fans of a team that have had forums set up to talk about Rangers. Brown, Guidetti, Scepovic, Griffith and Stokes have all brought their club into disrepute. nothing new.

Agree1 Disagree1

13 Mar 2015 22:09:10
Lani so what if Scott Brown was drunk . It does not solve any problems at Rangers. Why don't you concentrate on what is happening at Rangers? There is still the Ashley involvement to solve. Dave King still needs to pass fit and proper. Directors accused of racial abuse. Millions needed to get the club back to where it was. 3rd in the Championship! So Lani concentrate on issues closer to home. Just bite your tongue for a wee while and see what happens before you start spouting off.

Well tomorrow is the start of a so called new managerial era, if it truly is, there is absolutely no way that lee McCulloch should be near the starting 11 let alone the defence. I got one would hope McCall changes things all and imo the starting 11 should be.

GK Robinson

RB Faure
CB McGregor
CB Zaliukus
LB Wallace

CDM Hutton
CDM Law

LAM Templeton
CAM Murdoch
RAM Vuckic

ST Clarke

Best 11 we have atm anyone agree

Wbu ED

Believable4 Unbelievable1

13 Mar 2015 14:21:15
I'd agree if you had Murdoch in the right position, he's a new ian black, a defensive midfielder, but the good thing is Murdoch is good haha! Law under McCall will show his true potential and that is in the CAM spot, he's an attacking player that needs to be in the middle of the pitch, vuckic has no right foot what so ever so putting him on the right means he has to cross and when you have clark up front that isn't much good. temps can beat and player and has no left foot so again he would need to cross again we have clark up front not a good idea. so I'd have pretty much the same team but move law for Murdoch and temps for vuckic, no more long balls and fast pace

Agree0 Disagree1

13 Mar 2015 14:25:24
take back the vuckic and Temps bit, Friday is not a good day to try and talk about football with me haha I agree with you team but switch Murdoch and Law.

Agree1 Disagree1

13 Mar 2015 14:55:01
I havnt understood why Faure hasn't been playing before Foster.
Could it be he is on one of those deals where if he plays x number of games he MUST get an increase in £££ or a new contract?

Not sure I would use the word 'best ' though Cubby

Agree1 Disagree0

13 Mar 2015 15:17:28
Lol any team without McCulloch, Simonsen, Black, Foster and Boyd will do me, it is the best team we gave available atm imo and what I think McCall will use and I agree with the Law and Murdoch switch.

Agree0 Disagree0

I can't see Temps and Vuckic both playing it would be exciting, will likely be Walsh or Shiels in for one of them I also would not be surprised to see Faure in the centre with McGregor though we are so limited in defence it is annoying the Newcastle players are all crocks we urgently need a dominant centre half

As long as McCulloch, Black, Foster, Boyd are binned I will be happy, it is McCalls first big shout he HAS TO bin McCulloch

Agree0 Disagree1

13 Mar 2015 17:15:17
Hutton are you joking? Take it you missed the most recent games? Wouldn't have Faure near the team either. It's a difficult one for McCall as too many players recently have made a case for not playing rather than playing. I would like to see Gallagher involved instead of Clarke

Agree1 Disagree0

13 Mar 2015 17:33:05
Would not have any of them - play the youth!

Agree0 Disagree0

13 Mar 2015 18:09:26
Hutton frustrates the life oot a me.I know he is capable of driving forward with the ball, even just 10 yards driving at the defence. He did it against Hibs for Vucicks goal but just lacks confidence, I hope McCall can bring that part of his game back. Its the reason he made it to the first team.

Agree1 Disagree0

13 Mar 2015 19:24:08
Hutton is a deep lying midfielder it's laws job to create! Yet he escapes criticism

Agree0 Disagree0

{Ed039's Note - No he doesnt mate)

13 Mar 2015 23:46:40
Gkk

We didn't score against Hibs in the last 2 games. Take you mean the Raith cup game? Hutton is rubbish and should be nowhere near the team. Also it has been whispered that originally Hutton refused to sign over once Green took over however there were no offers for him and he had no choice but to sign over

dj already wanting the board to give mccall the job full time even if we don't get promotion
i would prefer the club to go in a new direction in the summer instead of ex players as manger wee need new fresh ideas in the short
term I back mccall 100 percent hearing yesterday that the players where ment to have a day off was no surprise no wonder we can't beat teams if we ain't even training on a thursday should have them training at least 5 days aweek

Believable3 Unbelievable0

13 Mar 2015 09:33:58
To be honest Rangers look like a team that doesn't train at all. No organisation, no structure and no direction. Just look like a collection of individuals who only see each other on the day of a game

Agree3 Disagree1

13 Mar 2015 09:52:13
It's the players only day off in a week, do you work every single day?

Agree1 Disagree2

13 Mar 2015 10:20:43
ceexxx I think u will find that wasnt therd only day off in a week and actually I personally do work 7 days a week as I run my own business and to make it work and acheive things I have
to put the effort in just like these players should but we have been lumberd with people that are at the end of there careers so they are not botherd no longer

Agree1 Disagree1

13 Mar 2015 11:05:43
Cexxx no we are not expected to work 7 days a week, but there again we don't earn what the players earn.

Agree0 Disagree0

13 Mar 2015 12:45:10
ceexxx, they are football players, hard training should be Monday to Thursday with light training on Friday, followed by rest only on the sunday. this obviously is if they only play on the Saturday, but this is the way of 95% of football teams, you train HARD 4 times a week, and do one session of light training. our team is a laughing stock thanks to ally, the more crap like this that comes out the less respect I have for him.

Agree3 Disagree0

13 Mar 2015 18:03:40

I agree with the consensus that McCall is a good choice and would like to wish him all the very best.
I hope he is able to rally the troops and bring a more positive attacking approach to the team.

I think he could be the man to get the best out of our more naturally gifted players like Templeton and Shiels.

I realise they have been inconsistent but I think this is in part to never getting a solid first team run and I have never fully understood why they were never given that opportunity.

Cheers.

Believable1 Unbelievable0

13 Mar 2015 09:31:29
I agree. There's no point in giving somebody a game here and there and an odd 30 minutes and then complain about their performances. Guys like Templeton and Shiels need game time. You have to start with them, give them at least an hour and if it's not working too well, sub them. But start with them next game and so on. I like Shiels as a player. We are not using him to anywhere near his full potential. McCoist and McDowall have not been fair on the lad. That's in my opinion. I would expect Stuart McCall to use him more wisely. Hope so.

Agree2 Disagree0

13 Mar 2015 09:36:36
I really hope that Templeton and Shiels are given a run of games from now to the end of the season. McCall need a to bring in something fresh to the team. Let's hope players like Gallagher and Walsh get runs also and the defence is changed. Ally's team didn't work then McDowall took it to new depths.

Agree2 Disagree0

13 Mar 2015 14:11:28

By the looks of someone of the players on the pitch it looks like they went to gullane sands just before kick off. The team needs pace and fresh ideas I hope McCall has the courage to drop the usual suspects and bring in some younger hungrier players

Agree1 Disagree0

13 Mar 2015 21:13:03

Agree2 Disagree0

12 Mar 2015 23:11:59
I think we need to congratulate the new board in some of the swift decisions that have been made in the space of a week.

We control the PLC and football boards with majority voting rights, we have moved to ostracise the Ashley connection, we have installed a new board with a strong corporate balance.

The removal of the easdales and wee toxic is a big step in the cleansing process, the two puppets of Spivs direct will probably be suspended for some time until the investigation uncovers what has been going on at executive level, although cashley could still try and appoint two directors until his loan has been paid up, this I think would be of no benefit to cashley as they could not change any decisions, and would be in effect powerless and probably unwelcomed

The appointment of Mccoll is no bad thing and I hope he manages to get more from this bunch of so called players than the previous incumbents! We should support him and pray he can turn this mess around, I don't think he will but I hope he can. I think these players are not interested in playing for the jersey only for the money. So unless there is a dramatic turnaround we will need to watch and hope.

I hope the board can ratify the issue with ally and clear the back room team and start a fresh, I think they should all leave as they have had there chances and are all clearly lacking.

The next phase that the board can hopefully clear up is the ownership issue, the hidden shareholder i.e BPH and margareta holdings (although this is not as critical due to there smaller share holdings) but I think transparency and honesty are the keyword from Kingco and T3B so let's clear up these issues and then keep us informed of the forensic audit that will be taking place

It is your duty to keep the fans informed

So in essence the first week has been very good the rest will take time and we appreciate this but communication is key to prevent further disdain.

RR

Believable3 Unbelievable2

13 Mar 2015 09:35:46
Absolutely spot on. The board hasn't hung about. They know they have to get things moving and they have done that. They are addressing the problems and keeping the fans informed at the same time. That was all we the fans have ever wanted. The way the old board treated everybody was absolutely shocking. Better times ahead. Let's hope the players can respond and push the club through back to the top flight where an institution like Rangers will always belong

Agree2 Disagree1

13 Mar 2015 10:28:29

13 Mar 2015 16:02:56
Ashley still has the right to put 2 back on the board, or he calls in the loan(s).

I think the last one is the only thing, people feel better because they feel that someone they can trust is in charge.

So it's faith. That they aren't hiding anything from us.

Unfortunately feeling better isn't going to help when we're skint and wages need paying, and the taxman is breathing down our neck.

Agree0 Disagree1

13 Mar 2015 22:02:44
Disinterested I for one wish you were disinterested in all things Rangers you must be a deeply negative person as I don't think you have ever posted one positive thing your first post is laughable!! What have they done are you serious? Are you Mike Ashley in disguise?

Serious question

Agree0 Disagree0

13 Mar 2015 23:53:17
Expat its rumoured ashley is allowed 2 guys on the board, I ask you were are they then, if everything ashley done was alllegal and above board I think he would have 2 new puppets sitting on board so ask yourself why he hss not done so.could he have fallen foul of the rules, just asking mind

Agree0 Disagree0

{Ed001's Note - or he could be waiting until the new board sort things out and then bring in his 2 men?}

14 Mar 2015 12:12:47

Guys

What tactics and style of football did McCall use at motherwell?

What do you think he will do with this team?

I've heard he liked fast wingers, only people we have really would be temps, vuckic, McKay, law, and to a lesser extent Miller and aird.

Does he play 2 strikers? Rangers are a traditional 4-4-2 team, I think he will go with that. Would like to see Miller and Boyd hit some sort of form and for a few young forwards getting chances.

if given the chance, do you think he will bring in any players in the summer? Would be great if he could persuade akechi anya

Aye McCall does like wingers hitting the byline and swinging in vicious crosses. That's why I think he'll play the likes of Templeton and eventually McKay with somebody like Daly and/or Boyd in the middle.

McCall will know Anya well through the Scotland connection. The guy has really impressed me in most games. And he is like lightning. Would be a great signing
