13 Nov 2017 21:21:22
Can't believe some people want big Eck back in. Seems like a lovely guy but he inherited a decent team and did ok. Have you ever heard him talk. He can hardly string a sentence together. How could he possibly inspire a team to play above themselves. By all accounts his training methods leave a lot to be desired as well. Tactically no clue. 🙈.

13 Nov 2017 22:37:57
I don't know if big eck is the best manager out there for us but bloody hell "don't know how he could inspire players? " He managed to inspire players last time, he managed to inspire the Scotland team when he managed them. How on earth would you know what his training methods were like? You best pals with former players?

14 Nov 2017 07:41:08
I tend to agree with blue teach I’m not saying he couldn’t inspire the players but when he is doing the tv analysis he is incoherent and all over the place. This may be a bit of nerves but I truly believe we need a manager who can actually coach players to play better, more consistent football. Michael O’Neill for me is similar to McInnes, both have achieved very little in the game and both represent a risk of failure as with any appointment. My preference would be Gio van Bronckhorst, but I think he would need a transfer kitty to be tempted and wouldn’t come until next summer.

14 Nov 2017 10:14:25
Big Eck would have had the job before Pedro but turned up to the interview pissed! Yes the man is Rangers but he is an alky and not right for the job.

14 Nov 2017 10:15:55
Wee_bear

Think anyone taking the job would want a transfer kitty otherwise it’s only going to end up one way

14 Nov 2017 13:03:39
blue berry listen mate he didn't inspire anyone last time he inherritted a great team and within a few season he had us finnishing third so naw he can't and walter smith done the hard work at scotland before eck ruined us again

14 Nov 2017 13:10:10
Agreed sparky but Gio would want a bigger budget than say a McInnes or an O’Neill I think as he would want to spend to compete on a European level and in doing so enhance his reputation further. McInnes would just be looking to be best of the rest I think. (Where we are now)

14 Nov 2017 21:41:32
McLeish didn't motivate/ inspire? Eh? The treble, that 3-2 cup final win against Celtic, last 16 of champions league? Not saying he's the answer to all our problems but he'd have been better than the loafman and pedro.

13 Nov 2017 21:08:21
Hope it's not McInnes. Or Mcliesh or Wright or O'Neil for that matter. We would be just as well off with the trusty Mr Murty as any of these guys. I don't think any of them can take us much further forward than we are just now. I get it that Cultic have the jump on us and that's why a bold appointment is needed. A Pardew, Allerdyce or even, dare I say it the other M O'Neil. Needs to be as big a big hitter as we can afford or we will without doubt be also rans for the foreseeable.

13 Nov 2017 22:12:48
I agree with you, Martin O’Neil would be a phenomenal move though you could understand his reluctance because of some sections of ours and their support. But few people are better qualified than he is. I, like many of us would love to see us rid our club of such outdated bigotry. Good luck to Liam Miller.

13 Nov 2017 23:43:33
Desmack, "Outdated Bigotry" what on Earth are talking about we’ve signed players that have played for Celtic and catholics play for rangers all the time
It’s not the club that has a problem it’s some of the fans just as it is with Celtic fans. get a grip and sort it out.

14 Nov 2017 06:43:54
Cheers Cream bun, you're quite right. I meant and should've said some of those people who associate themselves with the club that keep the outdated nonsense going on.

14 Nov 2017 09:59:33
I agree with the comments about Michael O'Neill. He has no club pedigree at all. I've never been in favour of McInnes as manager and having seen ROI's tactics against Denmark last week I wouldn't want MON either! If we can't get a big hitter like Van Bronckhurst, Allardyce or Pardew then we'd be just as well giving Murty a chance until the end of the season, maybe with Barry Ferguson brought in to help.

13 Nov 2017 18:52:47
Good luck to Liam miller . It will be a long road ahead but you can beat this horrible disease . I think most of us have been affected by cancer in some way . All the best lad.

13 Nov 2017 22:37:26
Good luck to Liam Miller.

13 Nov 2017 17:48:57
I know most on here want mcinnes as mangers but I would like us to push the boat out and try go for koeman or bilic

Thoughts lads?

13 Nov 2017 18:15:53
I agree we need a bit of class

13 Nov 2017 22:40:09
Aye your right, a wee bit of class would be good. so would some money in the bank. We don't have a cat in hells chance of getting a big name who is on the way up. unless it's someone starting out like Lampard or John Terry.

14 Nov 2017 01:44:50
JC Gers most of us on here certainly do not want McInnes as the next manager of Rangers Football Club. He is a nothing manager with a nothing background and will bring nothing to the job. We need and deserve far better than that to get us back where we belong. McInnes is a white flag of surrender and I've yet to see any poll of fans that show a majority want him.

14 Nov 2017 01:47:55
Bilic is rancid. Spent all sorts at West ham and failed miserably

14 Nov 2017 10:12:36
Ed, following on from the comment from dutycalls, could you set up a poll asking if we should have another poll to decide who the next manager should be as the last four polls have been indecisive. A simple 'yes / no' poll would do.

{Ed033's Note - Very funny. If Rangers lose the next game, Murty will go down in people's estimation. Then you can have an unbiased poll which includes people that weren't in previous Rangers manager polls like Gio, O'Neill, Koeman, Strachan and Bilic, but it's still likely that McInnes will be the preferred candidate.

14 Nov 2017 13:12:36
yes i think most would want mcinnes as he will steady the ship buy in the best of scottish football and add one or two in the summer and no manager starts out with a great reputation as this needs to be earned
, i think mcinnes would make his name with us and get us back

13 Nov 2017 16:23:37
please guys, thoughts and prayers today to ex Celt Liam Miller who has been diagnosed with cancer, time for a wee bit bridge building, thanks.

13 Nov 2017 18:42:42
Terrible news. 36 years old. 3 young kids. Here's hoping he can win the fight. I wish him and his family all the best

14 Nov 2017 01:46:45
Well said guys. my thoughts and prayers tonight are for Liam and his family, hopefully somehow he can win the fight. god bless you Liam.

13 Nov 2017 11:50:17
Surprised some people don't want O. Neil because he's a Catholic. half our team is Catholic atm also some of our best players were Catholic. I thought we had moved on from this bigotry crap. if Michael O. Neil was offered the job and took it i would be delighted but I still want mcinnes to get it. my second choice would be big eck because I believe those two would bring trophies back to ibrox but whoever the board appoints I will give my backing.

13 Nov 2017 13:46:34
Some people are happy stuck in the gutter Delboy.

13 Nov 2017 13:56:13
Id oneil no worries, garbage people spout about religion should stay away from football it has no place

13 Nov 2017 14:55:23
i don't want him as he has no experience as a manger brechin and shamrock don't count and just because he managed a team full of guys from the same country and managed to get doesn't mean that he can do it with Rangers

13 Nov 2017 16:04:57
That's your opinion ped and it's a valid point u make as I said want mcinnes or big eck but if o. Neill did get the job I would back him no problem but I read this morning that the sfa are going after him for the Scotland job

13 Nov 2017 16:54:07
Maybe our board are waiting for tomorrow nights result and are going for the other Irish O’Neill 😬😬definitely the better manager

13 Nov 2017 17:04:42
Could be we already have had a catholic manager with Portugal being 80% catholic, nothing to do with his ability (or lack of it) .

13 Nov 2017 17:17:11
seems like the papers picks everyones job these days, clubs don't care what the fans say except when it comes to money, then they are up you archie

13 Nov 2017 18:02:47
Well said Delboy, we want the best for Rangers no matter their religion, colour or nationality. No matter who the new manager is we must back him 100%

13 Nov 2017 19:08:26
Those in our away support who persist with singing those dated, moronic songs, please take note. You are embarrassing our club. We need the club to pay a couple of Rangers-supporting musicians and get them to create some new anthems for us. There are plenty of great historic tunes (which are out of copyright) as well as penning a few new ones. Also, the original words of follow follow make no mention of any religious figureheads etc. Let's revert to them.

14 Nov 2017 01:45:01
We've already had two managers who were of the catholic faith. We've had catholic captains of the club. The only people making this an issue are those hysterical PC cretins who see problems everywhere even though none exist. As an Orangeman and a Rangers supporter I have absolutely no issue with any catholics being associated with the club, and I never have done.

Some people just throw this false allegation around to make themselves look snow white and goody goody. In my mind those who constantly raise the issue are the senseless morons. And I'd still say no to O'Neil even if he was a black Rastafarian because he is not good enough to put the wind up Brenda or to take us back to where we belong.

14 Nov 2017 01:48:46
Who said anything about not wanting him because he's Catholic? Surely no one actually cares what religion the players and manager are anymore?

14 Nov 2017 01:53:30
Good to read some of your comments on this thread, i am in no way a religious man, in fact the greatest thing a Nanny state could do in my opinion is to abolish all religion, it isn't hard or complicated to just be a decent human being without being told to by a person who believes in hocus pocus fairy tales.

14 Nov 2017 09:45:35
Can’t believe people on here are talking about Martin O’Neil for the Rangers job.

Yes, he’s a great Manager but his heart lies in the East End of the City. That would be like Souness or Walter managing them. it ain’t ever going to happen

This has nothing to do with religion, its about where his loyalties lie. nothing more

14 Nov 2017 10:16:00
Bhampot

Couldn’t agree more

14 Nov 2017 13:16:42
no one said anything about religion I've looked over this page and haven't seen a thing written about him being a catholic just abut him having no experience at club level

13 Nov 2017 10:49:10
Will we have a manager in before the old firm in december? Or will they wait like the last time and leave murty in charge. Personally I think if murty gets another point or a win from them, he should at least be a number 2.

13 Nov 2017 13:13:39
I hope we do get someone in or if the board plan on keeping murty just let the fans know bcos then we know were we stand. it's the not knowing that does my head in fod lol

13 Nov 2017 14:56:44
patience is key my freinds we will be back to the top before u know it

13 Nov 2017 16:00:39
No we won't mate we are miles behind Celtic on and off the pitch it's a long road back to the top but when we do win the league it will probably be the best title we have ever won but I like your optimizim though ped I'm just a realist my friend

13 Nov 2017 16:46:12
On a purely personal basis i'm kinda hoping it is O'Neil so maybe idiots in our support stop singing songs like flute for 50 pence and the Lisbon lions song. Then I can maybe take my son to away games and our beloved club will not get into trouble. It is coming folks and we need to do something about it very soon. I also think he is a good manager, to N Iron that far speaks volumes. He didn't have a Bale or Ramsey like Coleman did.

13 Nov 2017 17:09:14
We aren’t a mile behind celtic they are better than us at the moment no doubt, but they are far from great euro result tell you that, if we appoint the right man start defending well and become hard to beat anything is possible trying to play football against them man for man isn't going to work at the moment but that’s why we need someone like Alex Mcleish he’s done it before on a shoe string budget and would be prefect for us right now. IMO

13 Nov 2017 18:11:01
No decent manager will be told who is number 2 is

13 Nov 2017 10:28:40
I see a young clown by the name of Dominic Thomas, apparently a Kilmarnock player has said he would never sign for us 'in a million years'.

Way to let your bitterness hinder your career so early wee man. Destined to rot away at tinpot clubs your whole career with an attitude like that.

By the fact nobody has a clue who he is should tell you he shouldn't be so choosey.

13 Nov 2017 13:05:06
Who the hell is he anyway, are we linked with him?

13 Nov 2017 13:14:52
I don't know him or ever heard of him. are we linked with him? Does anybody know?

13 Nov 2017 13:57:32
It was a tweet for oli mcburnie but he was tagged in it and suddenly thought it was him that was asked lol what a plum he looks now eh

13 Nov 2017 14:01:07
Nah tbh I think it was that Oli McBurnie asked him on twitter, the young boy that plays with Swansea, apparently he's a Gers man himself actually. But I think he asked him and that was the Killie players reply. It's not a big news or anything, just seen the papers have reported it and find his bitterness quite funny, considering he's at the mighty Killie.

13 Nov 2017 15:55:33
Cheers guys lmfas what a tosser eh the boy is obviously a Muppet lol

13 Nov 2017 15:53:42
not linked but this will start other biggotted players saying the same the likes of mcginn at hibs and such will say no to us even if it doesn't help their career.

its a shame aswell as i'd love mcginn in our team as he is a brilliant player but i don't think he would sign for us either and hibs wouldn't sell to us if we offered double of what celtic offer

13 Nov 2017 18:12:28
He's a wee nobody but typical of his type. And some so-called fans would like to see one of his type in charge of our club. They hate us and I for one hate them and everything they stand for. By the way, I'm not talking about religion here, although I believe that is a motivating factor with Thomas, a person's religion is of no concern to me. I'm talking about the republican movement which, it seems, a few of our fans belong to nowadays.

13 Nov 2017 19:31:18
I know john McGinn's cousin (used to work with him) . He was interested in signing for us and would have done so if we had pursued him (& offered the right money)

13 Nov 2017 20:07:18
McGinn would never have signed for us in a century of Sundays. Absolutely not a chance in Hell apparently

13 Nov 2017 20:46:38
The seeker - his cousin told me John Mcg was aware we were interested in him. Like you, I thought and stated he would never sign for us though, but he told me he would, no problem, but it depended on what we were offering. My posts have never referred to sources and apart from couple of attempts at humour or replies, I've never put a post on the rumours page. I'm not lying and have nothing to gain from doing so. He would have no issue in coming to Rangers, surprising as it may seem

14 Nov 2017 01:41:08
It gets embarrassing when it’s a slow news day at the DR

13 Nov 2017 07:57:21
Just something unrelated from our team. I've just read that former celtic and man utd player Liam Miller has been diagnosed with cancer, I'd just like to wish him all the best and a speedy recovery especially for someone so you. That boy should also be a lesson to young players listening to agents as I have no doubt if that boy stayed at celtic he would have been a superstar.

13 Nov 2017 10:37:24
Wouldn't wish this on anyone. Hope he makes a full recovery.

13 Nov 2017 13:09:01
Yeah same here, nice post Gary thoughts and prayers to him and his family, god bless ❤️❤️❤️
I hope he beats this horrible illness

13 Nov 2017 13:16:19
I hope he makes a full recovery and beats this horrible illness. God bless him and his family ❤❤

13 Nov 2017 15:55:02
really hope he beats this as no boby should ever have to fight this fight. c'mon liam kick its ass wee man

13 Nov 2017 00:17:50
Would like to pass on to liam miller and family that he is in our thoughts at this time, terrible disease that all of us have somehow been affected by, colours of either side doesn't come into this and we come together to show support .
Thoughts are with you and family.

13 Nov 2017 07:26:10
Well said sir. Thoughts are with Liam and his family at this terrible time

13 Nov 2017 13:17:07
Nice post guys. I wish him well and his full family. God bless him

13 Nov 2017 17:23:01
Without a doubt i echo your kind words StmonkeyRFC! My thoughts and prayers go to liam miller and his family! God bless! At these such sad times football and any divide means nothing! Stay strong liam and keep fighting!
