Mortiz and Faure to play in closed doors game against Hamilton Accies along with a Greek defender and another Brazilian winger

Believable3 Unbelievable9

Don't know if I like the idea of to many foreigners, espaecially for div3. What we've seen so far is that the teams we play against on their own patch will be on top of the RFC players giving them no time. I just don't know if the foreign guys can adjust to that type of game. I suppose it is down to Ally and his team to judge these players and see.

3 2

Hopefully the Greek is a right sided defender

3 1

Hope the greek defender is a right sided one.

Just like to say good on Charlie Green for speaking his mind about anti rangers agendas in Scotlands football. As the man said today its been a long time since our club had an official voice to fight back, before the **** hit the fan the club management Murray, Bain were quiet, it was smith and coisty that were speaking out. It's way overdue that rangers have a strong management that takes on challenges head on and sorts them! Green and co have delivered on what they said they would and have sorted out pretty much every issue and we have no debt. We are at the bottom now but we will be back sooner than people may think. Let's be behind Green now and stop the in house bickering, wil get us nowhere. The. We owner have also backed mccoist with new signings of good quality for the level we are currently at.

Let's hope it's a Trevle at the end of the season!

So what exactly do you class as debt , cg stated that the 5.5m was a loan so how the f##k are we not in any debt

9 0

Are you a total idiot? No debt? Except for what you owe Charlie(around 7 million and counting) and, despite what he said, still some football debt to be paid.

As every day that goes by I am becoming more impressed by Green. He visited the queue today, can you imagine Sir DM doing that or Whyte, although I wish Whyte had. I think it is refreshing.
I like that he calls a spade a f??ing shovel. I have no problem that he will make a healthy profit, I think he deserves to, after all without him we would not be
standing in line for hours, there would be no club
to follow.

I have to say I am amazed at the number of season tickets sold, quite astonishing, and it is very likely that this weekend there will be more at our game than the six SPL games added together. That would be quite something.

We really are the people

Believable23 Unbelievable7

He was talking to us at 0730. as we were waiting in the line for season tickets good for him

2 2

Sure you are , but once you have made your point then what, not as big crowds cos the level of football is going to be total p##h

6 8

Make those cheques payable to ticketus remember. You really are the people all right.

5 1

Exactly mate can you imagine dermot **** stain doing that at Celtic park? Would be hard mind you with no queue! Ha

0 1

@4: why should he? He supports the club in other ways that Green can't do for Rangers. Money.

1 0

14 Aug 2012 19:03:12
We have sold nearly 30 thousand season tickets so we have made nearly 7.5 million pounds straight to mr greens bank account never to be seen again.

Believable22 Unbelievable6

Go away. What are you talking about?
Are you suggesting that Green should not use season ticket money to run the club.
I really have never heard such tosh in all my life. You shouldn't be worried because I bet he ain't got your money. Back to the other side please.

23 15

And where does every other clubs season ticket money go?
FFS! the man has shelled out - albeit a loan apparently - before any season tickets were sold - according to the dark side we wouldn't have any season tickets to buy at all!- he was the only one to step up
can you not accept that & move on

Fans getting leathered into McCoist and Broadfoot this early, there are Black Widow spiders with more loyalty than a sizeable representation of Rangers support. Why not go the whole hog and replace Simply The Best with What Have You Done For Me Lately?

Long term does not mean one game to the next. No wonder Murray park has been a relative dud, the fans wont tolerate anything short of a win in near every game and short of Celtic perhaps that will be expected every match for the next three seasons. Murray tried to feed your demands, remember how that worked out?

Is there any sort of learning curve out there at all?

Believable22 Unbelievable10

Good post. New Rangers era but unfortunately we retained some of the knuckledraggers.

7 0

Do you think 6 years as assistant to Walter Smith should be a learning curve? Plus the whole mess of last year? And still no change in tactics

5 1

F*** off your always going to get fans like tht a mind when yez wanted lennon out

5 2

This is not one game for Broadfoot has been a joke dice we signed the dud, it's the fact that he looks even worse in the bottom tier, that says it all.

5 1

Have you watched Broadfoot, he is a liability, he has cost us games and points for years now. We drop down to the bottom tier and he is still woeful.

7 2

This is the OP, 3) thanks for your erudite debating skills. Regards Broadfoot, fair enough if he's rotten and for sure he's not a very good player but why so glib with the hero status for all that rejoined? I have no problem with you slagging players but at a time when Rangers needed some support he stood up. Just don't fawn over them then stab them in the back 5 minutes later is my complaint. Given recent events I would have thought A TEAM, rather than a winning team would have sufficed for the time being but nope the We Are Rangers and all the triumphalistic garbage that attracts is still the modus operandi by the looks of it.

RANGERS are closing in on 30,000 season ticket sales after an incredible day at the club's ticket centre saw thousands of people turning up to pledge their loyalty to the Light Blues.

Believable10 Unbelievable12

Don't know why your all chuffed as that's a drop on last season! I thought you didn't do walking away.

6 8

Renewed mine, proud of my fellow bluenoses, we have done ourselves proud throughout this whole scenario, long may it continue

J

5 5

Still cant believe folk on here are saying that this is good season ticket sales? 30,000? how many were sold last year? get a grip

Shona Baird {Ed039's Note - How is it not good Shona? Please explain to me another club that has suffered like gers fans have and sustained such a fan base)

13 7

Cheap tickets always sell

4 5

Last year SPL, Old Firm games & CL qualifiers, so no fair minded person would compare with D3, no Europe and no Old Firm - that said 30000 plus and counting - whose to say we won't top last seasons when everyone commits - either way an incredible show of loyalty, probably unequalled in history !!!

4 3

@3 thats over 30k so far,the public sale only began today, the true blues queueing for more than 4 hours to buy a brief, nice to see you still on here engrossed in the reformation of our institution,if only it was as exciting at liewells liar.....

Hi ED and my fellow bears!

I took a gamble and didn't renew my season ticket before the deadline, hoping (and I mean everything crossed!) that I could get better seats when season tickets went on general release!
It took me from 1000 this morning till right now, 1536, to get through to the ticket office as I couldn't get there in person!
Anyway my question is -- having had a seat in govan east row b, and now taken govan front GF3 row N seat 87, hows the view from there? I know it's pretty central but is it high up enough for a decent view? Any info would be much appreciated guys.

And I'll add that I can't wait to get back to watching football and seeing super Ally grow as a manager and the embryo of a team he's cultivating grow in stature over the course of the season.

Many thanks AndyRN

Believable11 Unbelievable15

I wouldn't say that ally's cultivating a team, more like cobbling together anyone that's free and lumping the ball forwards 50 yards....chucky was handing out free tea, should have went down mate.

3 3

Andy - a few years back i had a seat in GF6 row J and the view was good, just a wee bit blind when the ball goes right into the corners, your new seat is high enough to be a big improvement from row B, enjoy it mate

JG

1 1

I'm pretty close to there, it's a great view.

GovanFR

Seats are good mate enjoy

Thats not a bad seat m8 its pretty central you can check the seating plan of the stadium on the Gers website.

Govan FR and JG ta for the post guys hope to see you there! As for the other walloper that posted, only an I'll edjukated (Speke thon wai on porpoise) could take the full reading of my post and only pick out that one part of it to comment on! I said cultivate an embryo of a team that will grow, as he will as a manager with them, anyone that's a footballung man can see the need for both time for ally to grow and the same alowance for the team! A few old heads in with the boys us a good recipe, all those who say yeah yeah give Murray park and youth a chance don't know there a**e from their elbow! A team of lightweight boys (not decrying their ability merely there stature as any man grows and bulks up!) they would get slaughtered against the has been journeymen or will never make it wideos

Any idea if Season tickets are still available or when the ticket office is open till ?

Believable2 Unbelievable6

They have stopped people joining the queue already. But think this is just for today.

0 4

Rangers have been overwhelmed by demand today, the website is no longer working. I would try the ticket office tomorrow, there are still plenty available, ST sales stand at around 30,000 right now.

GovanFR

Does anybody know who is blocking the liquidation process? If it is HMRC this could be catastrophic news and might impact on Greens takeover. Will this ever end?

5 3

@ 5.... So what you are saying is that all your top players are leaving for pastures new, perhaps Celtic are just trying to level the field a bit with the rest of the Spl to make it actually interesting.

Anyway what have Celtic fans got to happy about....a poorer standard of team, competing in a league where the only real opposition has gone, painful euro runs and no old firms(hopefully cups tho)......

The only reason your here is because your Celtic are boring the 34dd's aff ye

I keep reading from many posts that the "Oldco" has nothing to do with the "Newco". Then I read from many posts that all previous success can't be taken away. I would've thought that if the history of the "Oldco" were to continue then everything must continue, such as paying off ALL debts incurred. Why not just accept the fact that whatever the previous regime/s did or did not do, the current Rangers FC is a brand new product and should be allowed to get on with the matter in hand which is to re-establish the club once again to the highest level. Remember that Charles Green accepted the conditions of entry into the SFL as a new business which allowed him to jump the queue ahead of other ambitious clubs. At the end of the day without other clubs to compete against, there would be no Scottish football, let alone Rangers.
Juniorman.

Believable14 Unbelievable23

I'm sure it was a transfer of membership that alowed the club to jump to the front of the line and not a new club as lots of people think

11 9

I think Rangers got into the SFL because it was a transfer of membership.

10 10

Right. I guess it's hard to understand for those who haven't been folling this forum closely for the last few months. The Rangers that's now playing in SFL3 is owned by a different company (TRFC, pka Sevco 9876 or something) than the Rangers which played in the SPL. BUT, so that TRFC could take their place, they transfered Rangers' membership, and that likely includes the "history". But the SFA didn't grant this without conditions. And that, folks, is why TRFC is settling SFA footy debts.

2 6

And the memership share was transferred to the new club.

2 1

Let's stop nitpicking and move on to better times ahead as the post implies.

1 1

Rangers newco are accepting some very lenient punishment for the misdemenours of the oldco as it was a condition of the transfer of membership , to just let newco start again with no conditions put on them would be very unethical and would also lead to other teams repeating this fiasco

2 0

@3: what if the membership had gone to another club? Would they have the history too? No, that would be ridiculous so why isn't it ridiculous that Rangers keep the history?

0 2

Rumour has it that McCoist trying to buy his way out of the 3rd division, the young players that stayed to make sure the team would survive not good enough now it seems, wait a minute its not a rumour its fact

Believable12 Unbelievable16

Gers need youth mixed with experienced to survive in the lower leagues. Theres no way in planet that we would get promoted anywhere near as quickly otherwise. Also require seasoned pros so when we meet Tic in the cup, we'll stuff em :)

8 10

Youth definitely isnt enough and ally isnt impressed, lets pretend barrie mckay didnt score at the weekend and imagine it was someone else.muppet.

5 3

Rangers Fans shoud stop buying...
1) - The "Daily Record"
2) - The "Sunday Mail".
3) - The "Scottish Sun".
4) - The "Scottsh Sun on Sunday"

These 4 newspapers have been "anti-RANGERS" and "pro-CELTIC" in the tone of their news coverage for the last few years.
It is time to make them "pay the price" for being "anti-RANGERS" in their news coverage. Boycott these 4 papers. Do not read them and do not buy them.
Lets see how they manage to make a profit when the majority of Glasgow Rangers Fans have stopped buying copies of their newspapers

Believable26 Unbelievable23

Would refute your claim of anti Rangers bias as they seem indiscriminate in who they choose to assasinate whenever it suits them however ,, it matters not as this form of mainstream media is being left behind by the internet ...... real radios phone in demise is just a taste of what lies ahead as far as the conventional media outlets are concerned and it's only a matter of time before they all cease to exist although I do agree that a boycott will serve a purpose in accelerating the process ....... sooner the better .......!

16 1

Examples please OP and I bet everyone of them is rational and explainable, come on, I dare you!

10 5

Im a Gers fan mate and i think thats nonsence. I would suggest you buy the Dandy instead but i heard even thats going down the tubes

Nah mate i like my paper, what da feck am i gonna read? the metro or is that corrupt?

haha makes you laugh scottish football at times!

Seriously Celtic broken crest in these rags after a few early season defeats in friendlys yet takes until rangers near extinction. Full of your goram's, gough's and hateley's spewing their anti Celtic bile

3 1

Find it hard to believe that you find the record pro celtic! That a-hole keevins won't write anything positive about celtic, the likes of keevins still wait for the scraps from david murrays succulent lamb along with that tube traynor

2 2

One thing I would say is that none of them featured a cracked Rangers crest which is incredible given what the club has endured this year ..... seem to remember Celtic's crest shattered in most red tops after the early season collapse in Bratislava ..... depends on your particular perspective I suppose .

1 3

@7 you'll find if you check mate, that you are incorrect there...

Thinking who is the better manager, Ally or Lennon. Well on signings need to say Lennon; izzaguire, commons, KI, Kayal, Wanyama, hooper, Ledley, Matthews, Forrest, .... Ally just draws duds.
On football successes, it's easily Lennon. On talking sense it's Lennon. I can easily see Lennon at a big EPL club but struggle to see ally there.

Believable24 Unbelievable29

Nice to hear from you on the Rangers Rumours site Neil. Here was I thinking it was only your fans that were infatuated with the Gers.

21 10

Lennon at a big club, very good. He can't conduct himself properly at trackside or with the media. Doesn't know his best 11, and is tactically naive. Not saying Ally is any better but give us a break with the Lennon nonsense.

17 11

Lennon managing in the Epl! lol
Yes because hes really mature enough for that. Sigh................

11 9

It's really sad how yous can't separate your hate for him to see and say that he is better and better by miles. A epl club has already tried to take him, I mean get with the time ppl! Nl is changing for the better because he realizes that he has to be more calm, and he keeps his mouth shut when knowing if he says something can cause trouble unlike ally who just says wtv he is thinking ie demand names.

11 8

He won the league last year when we were cripplied with administration and flopped in both the clubs. Both Lennon and Ally are dugmeat, cant c either of them at a big EPL job, no chance.

9 10

I think 5-10 years ago, no one so inexperienced would have even been considered for the Rangers or Celtic job.
They got taken on because of what they had done for their clubs, which is a sign of the times I'm afraid.
Also in terms of Lennon managing a big EPL club, I think that's a bit optimistic. He hasn't done well in Europe at all ( I know Ally hasn't either ) And when he has the players he has at his disposal he could play pretty much any team at any formation he wants and they would still canter the league.

6 3

If Scottish football was in a better state then neither would be managing the clubs

15 5

I would like to see lennon in charge of a club with no money and still win the league i dont think so. thats what ally had to do last season. was that the same bunch of players last season that were 1 game away from getting lennon the bullet, enough said. lennon will never manage another other team again when he goes FACT.

0 1

14 Aug 2012 09:37:10
Morning all, am I mistaken or did a gentleman which nurtures youth talent not buy a stake in the club, surely his contacts should be unearthing future talent rather than waste money on over the hill old boys.

Believable10 Unbelievable0

I think you'll find he'll be using Murrey park for his own purposes and not to unearth talent for Rangers.

5 2

His purpose is to develop talent for sale and ear himself a profit. Green has hived off the new club into separate businesses which practically stand alone.

0 0

The youth set-up at Ibrox has been like this for years, Rangers effectively have to buy youth talent from the youth squad and it has been this way for maybe 7-8 years

0 1

14 Aug 2012 09:23:50
I have read alot of bile directed at Kirk Broadfoot over the last week and you could almost forget the guy is Human as I have seen a Stray dog given better treatment! Shame on you so called "Rangers fans". Of course these will be the same ones that made Skippy's Life Hell at Ibrox when he was played out of position season after saeson before moving to his prefered position of centre defense and becoming Ibrox Hero!!
That is just one example of courses you remember BOOING BIG AMO and Hatley now "Legends"---Thank God there is not a war on as I would hate to be in the Trenchs with some of the snipers we have on "our side" they would end up shooting themselves let alone us.

Believable24 Unbelievable5

Well said OP. It wasn't that long ago that anyone who stayed was being described as a legend. I know football fans are fickle but there has been a breathtaking mindshift regards Broadfoot. Even if Rangers sell him on they could get some cash for him unlike the club captain of last season, the dyed in the wool Lafferty, the Rangers loving McGregor. "Legend" status at Ibrox has got the shelf life of a pint of milk evidently.

6 3

Let's not forget someone else who was almost driven out by the fans when his playing career didn't take off straight away. Possibly the same fans that are asking him to walk away not that his management career hasn't start off too well. I must admit, I've questioned plenty of his signings and his tactics but he turned his playing career round and turned out to be not too bad a servant to the club

5 3

Get cash, who is going to buy him, he is a joke and I will happily have a go at him. You talk about of position what is his position. Played centre half cost us goals, plays right back costs us goals. He is the worst player I have ever seen. He didn't stay for love of club, he had to no where else to go.

4 6

Im not disputing hes human and has feelings. however that doesnt get away from the fact that he leaves us a man down every game. He just isnt good enough.

5 5

He was good enough when he stayed at your club through all this. You wanted their names put up at ibrox so they would always be remembered as legends. Fickle lot

7 2

The guy has stayed in the 3rd division, he is a blue nose thru and thru so give him some credit ffs and get off his back! he has played some good games for Gers and fans are too quick to forget at times!

4 4

Good games you are having a laugh, carried through games more like. I'll be on his back till he gets lost, I have never seen anybody so bad, he has sold the jerseys far too often, time to disappear.

1 2

If the guy finds a bit of form you will all end up like him with egg on your face

0 1

You're not in SPL anymore. What kinda class footballers do you honestly think rangers should have?! You've got a team full of full time players. The rest of your division are part timers. Doesn't that tell you something?! All these demands for this that and the next thing are unreasonable.

0 1

14 Aug 2012 09:04:45
If Rangers make 2nd place at the end of the season, do you think the SFA/SFL will introduce the play-off's?

Sally has lost the plot and has to be replaced now. This is not a job for a rookie manager, someone like Neil Warnock is required for the job!

Green must act now coz Sally is pure GUFF!

Miko x

Believable12 Unbelievable20

Miko you person - play-offs are standard in the SFL - Gers WILL finish 1st and by some distance - Ally is our manager not yours or numpties like you. Rookie or not, and he will learn his trade with us behind him - now go and spend some time concentrating on your own team

15 6

I agree that he needs to go but neil warnock has just went to manage leeds

3 3

Are they not already in place in SFL 3?

4 3

Already a playoff system in div 3. But it wont be needed we'll get promoted, its only been one game FFS!

5 1

As a Celtic supporter why are you really concerned, as for play offs being introduced and league formats being changed, does that not happen when the sheep should be relegated?
Sporting integrity, sell out Saturday, absolute Craig Whyte!!

7 3

I agree mate. All hose calling for Allys head after one game. These people are just glory hunters who cant take bad with good. Ive every confidence Gers will adapt to life in the lower leagues. Once we find our feet, we'll be on our way. People forget, this is a new team put together with no pre season training. Give the guy a break. Mark wright declared he would put his carear on hold to play for rangers. He currently plays for oxford, but was with tottenham as a youth. Would you take him? Would be cheap for wages if playing for oxford and would get rangers tons of publicity, even if Towie is a crap show

Believable3 Unbelievable15

This would probally make a lot of money in shirt sales due to a surge of teenage girls buying strips with mrs wright on the back but amongst football we would be a laughing stock

I remember listening to radio clyde many, many moons ago put it this way Jimmy Sanderson was doing the commentary.

Rangers got knocked out of the League Cup this particular night by some small team, Raith, Falkirk, whomever it was. Sanderson described it in his squeaky voice as "Rangers are playing as strangers." His voice went through me but that wasn't why I was listening. I was waiting for the disgruntled bear phone-in. Duly it arrived.

That is what forum pages, especially banter pages, have became, the 24/7 phone-in. I'm sure Celtic fans have suffered it too, ICT in the cup, after the 5-1 tanking at Dens Park, Ross County in the Scottish cup more recently.

Needless to say since February 14th it has been nearly all one way traffic on the bad news front. But them's the breaks and self-inflicted wounds like In Craig We Trust and We Don't Do Walking Away have made it all the more fun and all the more enjoyable for opposing fans.

While it might not always be in jest and tempers have risen on ocassion the fact remains that places like this get the frustrations out and the jibes come back and forth out from the comfort of our own home and not in some pub as would have been the case years ago, with the inevitable sad consequences and I applaud the Ed's for keeping it balanced and for their censoring.

But trust me OP the last thing in the world I want to be is a Rangers fan :)
