Just a wee word about tav was our most creative player last year in terms of goals scored and assists he played well against all the premier league we played against I know he was at fault for one goal in the cup but. he played every match last year I would say he was good in the vast majority of them people should stop listening to that big nosed x player on Clyde 1 this is the same idiot that said McKay would never cut it at rangers.

Are you taking about DJ? A Rangers legend. Tav is a liability in defence. Cost us more than one goal. Let's face it, the goalie shoulda scored a couple in that Mickey Mouse league last year. I appreciate what he's done for us and am grateful for his work rate but Tav costs us big and will continue to do so against better opposition. We'll speak again after 10/ 09 to see if your views are the same.

No, not really, Biffo. I watched Moreno today and his performance made Tav look like Cafu. Just highlights for me how harshly some people on here judge Tav.

Plus, do us all a favour and stop referring to Tav as a Scottish Championship player. He's earned the right to be referred to a a Scottish Premiership player.

Until Tavernier has played a number of games in the premiership then u can only judge him on his season in the championship. I'm sorry if that's confusing.

Maybe it's just me but I would rate Arsenal higher than Hamilton and Dundee however if you want to call Tavenier of higher quality than Moreno who has also played in Spain and won the Europa league then fair enough but your just embarrassing yourself.

It was there for all to see, Biffo. All the pundits seemed to share my view on Moreno. Also, I never said Tab was of higher quality (cheers for putting words in my mouth though) .

My point being that Tav gets pelters on here but has never produced a display as bad as £12m Moreno produced today, regardless of the level he's been playing at. People need to see the positives he brings the team.

Plus, any player who gained promotion over a season of hard graft deserves the recognition for their achievement. He earned the right to play in the Premiership and should be referred to as such. Try telling Middlesbrough they're still an English Championship team!

You clearly don't fancy the guy, which is your opinion, but don't try to play down what he's achieved so far with Rangers.

As for your remark about calling him a championship player that isn't the case. At the moment you can only really judge him on what he did in the championship and can't compare him to a EPL and Spanish internationalist. As for the Cafu reference laughable.

Just a thought (I've mentioned it before) but I thought McKay had one of his better games yesterday AGAIN when waghorn wasn't playing?
He was not tied to the left wing like he usually is and especially in the first half he seemed to have a bit of freedom.
What does everyone think?

I just can't praise Mckay enough. He's got tremendous composure and awareness for such a young guy and his workrate is terrific. Glimpses of brilliance yesterday with the through ball for Wallace for Millers goal and his break late on from the left after good linkup with Dodoo - was unlucky with his finish. Thought he was a 7/ 10 yesterday, after Rossiter our best player in what was an average overall team performance for me.

Wee barrie is a great prospect, I think the flack he gets is unfair at times, but everyone sees things differently, but I agree with you bill, he plays with more freedom when waghorn isn't on the park.

I don't always believe what I hear specially in the papers but if it does happen (tav moves to turkey) I think that's a big mistake as our defence is needing strengthened majorly as it is and letting one of our best players (IMO) bad move! And yet we are currently being linked with another striker from Preston. I think we need to focus on a solid no nonsense defender who can deal with corners/ set pieces because Wilson and Kiernan just don't cut it let's be honest they are awful and aren't upto the standard that we need a Rangers! I hope we can get a defender in but not at the cost of losing tav.

Tav is the best overlapping full back that we have. Wallace is not a great defender but this generally goes unnoticed. Problem is that our two centre backs are poor and we are not giving enough cover to our backs when they go on their runs. Halliday in a holding or defensive middle is a disaster; he got through last season because of the poor quality but as soon as Crooks is fit he must come in alongside Barton and Rossiter. A centre back to replace either Wilson or Kiernan is a must, take your pick on those two.

This is where we are at the moment. We need to keep picking guys like Tav up on the cheap and selling for a profit. I'm not his biggest fan I'll admit but he's a solid pro and seems like a good guy in the squad BUT we should be biting off any hand offering that kind of money for any of our players "maybe with the exception of Mckay and Rossiter" then re investing the cash into the team. It's a solid growth model but it needs the punters to understand that they will loose favourite players from time to time.

Why are people resigning themselves to losing players. We are trying to build a team here, not lose one.
Tav had a hand in 38 goals last year from RB, I personally don't think we can afford to lose that. He's been involved in most of our forward play this year as well.

Totally back you up here alexcee, I had the same when I broke the moh news on here almost 4 months before we signed him, that's what a small minority is like on here because they've not got a scoop and they continually think posters on here are making everything up because they're not in the know or have no info on a specific player, that's why we have this facility to share what we hear about everything regarding glasgow rangers.

There's a lot of folk on this site that just want to be negative or pick holes in rumours posted, yes some rumours like RVP were total none sense but there is a few genuine ones and yours seems to be gathering pace.

Surely joe garner isn't the big name that was being lined up. I'll give anyone a chance when they sign for rangers. But I have to say i'm a little underwhelmed about the signing. I'll happily be proved wrong. But his career record is 1 in 3 games and a lot of his appearances were in the lower leagues. 28 so no real sell on value. But like I said I'll be over the moon to be proved wrong.

Disagree Bongo, O'Halloran is suffering from teams sitting deep leaving little space to run into. Think he was unlucky not to start yesterday as he played very well on Tuesday. He has real pace and is the only player we have with this asset which in my opinion we will need. I don't see this bit that he doesn't look interested!

I still don't think we can afford him especially when the asking price is supposedly at least £1million as we don't have that money at this moment in time not with court cases happening all the time and legal fees to pay, I hope I'm wrong because I think this guy could do really well for us, i hope warburton and weir get the backing of the board on this and of course a strong centre back which is a position that also needs badly addressed.
