Well fellow bears I can't believe its 2 years since the saint valentines day massacre!

I noticed very recently that Stockbridge was still a director at RIFC and GARRION security? Did Wallace not say he severed all links to rangers when he was paid off?

Will the boardroom give any clues to what is going on, I know that the club is spending not a jot on any maintenance within the stadium and it is literary falling to pieces. Are things that desperate? Maybe they will come clean just before the season tickets are due! If I am not mistaken the 120 days runs out just before the season tickets are due or am I just being cynical.

Here is my analysis of the team this year:

Bell – Satisfactory but rarely tested
Forster – Waste of money
Faure – Learn how to take a throw-in, would only give him one more season
Wallace – Different class- Outstanding
Moshni – Too relaxed, going to get caught out more and more the higher the league we play in but can’t argue with his goals tally
McCulloch – Great leader but going to struggle next season
McLeod – Great potential but needs to be played in correct position
McAusland – Bring him back and give him a chance
Black – Liability
Law – Started well but has fizzled out a bit
McKay – What happened?
Smith – Waste of money
Aird – Potential
Templeton – Great player but need more form him next season
Daly – Decent
Clark – Had injuries but still has possibility of good things to come
Little – Disappointing
Prelta – Very Poor
Simmonsen – Played one game and had a world class save- But do we need two highly paid keepers?
Hegarty – Durries out
Crawford – Not bad but too light weight
Hutton – Last chance next season if he can stay clear of injuries
Perry – Not good enough based on last season
Management team – Tactically disappointing

I cannae argue with that summing up hopefully we can get rid of some in the summer and I do think lee macculloch will struggle for pace next season

@ OP good post mate. I agree with most of your assessments but for me it should be time up for Hegarty Perry, Cribari, Hutton and Faure- not good enough. Little, Black and Crawford- big improvement required and agree probably Jig's last season as first choice centre half so it would be great for him to get to lift a cup or two. Nothing wrong with dreaming.

Genuinely can't argue with the summation. Unless we improve our play we'll get found out off the so called better opposition. Big time cliche but can't help but ponder the scenario of a better management team better performance from the players.

OP basically my thoughts, we have a wage budget of 7 and half million per annual take Wallace out this team and what do we get for our money? NOTHING.

Marathon Bear

Can't disagree with your assessments of most of the players but the management team are tactically inept

I read Ally, this morning, saying " let's all take a step back and look at the picture. " let's do that.

There have been some good posts here recently commenting on the missed opportunity on signing up Andrew Robertson when he was at Queens Park and about not playing McAusland and Gasparotto and why did we buy Foster, Smith and Perlalta.

I recall McCoist saying at the start of the season that he won't get some of the youngsters he wants because they don't want to be playing in the lower divisions. Maybe he did try and get Robertson and maybe Robertson didn't want to play bench as back up for Wallace. We don't know but if I'd been in his position I too would have signed for Dundee United. And I'm a Rangers fan. Wallace is Scotland's best left back without question.

Why Foster and Smith? Experience and ability to deal with pressure and some of the tackles we get in the third tier. Peralta? Maybe they saw a potential for sell on value. So yeah let's take a step back and not keep jumping to our own conclusions.

Robertson was a missed opportunity for sure but I think the reason is that he would be playing 2nd fiddle to Wallace did he sign for DU on a free? Great bit of business for them if so. At 1st I thought Peralta was a great signing full international played against some of the worlds top young wingers playing for his country ie Neymar, James Rodriguez, Di Maria etc but it's not turned out that way but I did see the point in this signing though. Daly & Law were form players last season & I also agreed with these two but Smith & Foster says it all really.

@1 Robertson was an amateur playing for an amateur team so he was a free. @ op we are not jumping to conclusions these are merely opinions. Sweep1 was correct we signed Steven Whittacker and in his first game he played right midfield in front of Alan Hutton and we looked tremendous on the right hand side that day - in the top division. Our point about Roberston is he is a good footballer and could have been played in midfield or as Stewie said Wallace could have been moved forward into midfield or Robertson could have been used on the RHS. Good footballers can play different positions e.g Mcleod not getting to play central midfield.
When you are as skint as we are the manager and we as a club cannot afford to have deadwood like Cribari, Smith and Peralta (although I agree he looked okay on a few clips on Utube) all collecting decent wages for very little in return, and low cost good young uns should be picked up. Smith is taking wages even though he flopped first time round and is always injured so your point about him being able to take tackles- I just don't agree with.
But hey we are where we are- but it is opinions and we are all entitled to them. And finally it is a lot easier to play football on a keyboard than it is on a wet windswept pitch. So perhaps we should all be a bit more measured in our opinions pro Ally and less pro Ally alike.

Kfraser
Smith has had a lot of problems
with injury so your point about being able to take tough tackles is strange to say the least

I have said this before we are out in front of the rest of the league we must try young players now to see how they are going to perform rather than fuel allys ego to be able to say we never lost a game if the chance to blood these youngsters is not taken what's the point of having reserve and youth times or do we keep signing duds like cribari peralta foster and co

How many more gems dlike Robertson did our management heros over look last season and this? We played queens park 4 times. so much for watching opposition and accessing their strenghts etc.
We have excellent chance to access talent in lower leagues against out better players 4 times a season.

Not really a rumour, but just wanted to ask a question.

Which players contracts are up in the summer? It hasn't really been mentioned yet, but I thought it would have been by now as technically the layers can speak to other clubs.

As far as I am aware, they are;
Cribari (but he has the option to extend by a year, hopefully not)
Andy Little (I am sure he only signed a 2 year deal when we got sent down to Div 3)
Steve Simonsen (he only signed a 1 year deal)
Kyle Hutton (isnt his deal up at the end of the season or the year after?)
Scott Gallacher (isn't his deal up soon?)

As far as I am aware I lot of the other players have at least another year to go then we have a few who ar eon longer term deals such as Templeton, Shiels, MacLeod, Law, Aird, McKay, Crawford, Black, Peralta, Wallace, Bell etc. As it was seen that we wanted to keep these players to get us back to the top Div.

Op I can't see any team coming in for the drosse ide imagine they will be happy to run there contracts down easy moey if yae can get it eh not any feelings of guilt from the guilty ones very ambitios lot of footballers
