I know this might now take your fancy but I think a 5-2-1-2 would be quite good for the new season
Gk: Bell
Rwb: Foster Cb: Pandza Cb: Gasperotto Cb: Mohsni Lwb: Wallace/Smith
Cm: Law Cm: Macleod
Cam: Shiels/Templeton
St: Daly/Jig St: Clark/Little
Subs: New gk, Mckay, Little/Clark, Daly/Jig, Cribari
As there are two wing backs they would be very attacking minded almost like a lm and move further up than that when needed and with their pace getting back shouldn't be a problem and if either Templeton or Shiels they would have a free role if they wanted to move out to the right or lleft or stay centre. Let me know what you think.

5 at back in 2nd division is just calling for mccoist abuse from the internet streamers

0 0

Why 5 at the back? And why do you want defenders to play as attacking midfielders when we have attacking midfielders?

JG

0 0

It isn't really 5 at the back its 3 at the back when on the ball

0 0

5 at the back is a pretty attack minded formation though

they would be using wing backs. looks decent but I don't think jig will be played as a striker

0 0

@2 the 2 attacking midfielders we have would be fighting for the free role behind strikers

0 0

@4 are you craig levein in disguise

First time poster.

My opinion for new line up. Think ally should go 4-3-3.
Bell

Wallace cribari billy foster

Law hutton/sheils macleod

Little daly/clark templeton.

Reasoning. Think it will give the fans the type of football we would like and it fits our better players in. I kniw no jig/black but I think they slow us down. Young guys can come on in natural positions too, mckay. Aird, naismith, crawford, stoney. Keep it attacking high tempo and exciting.

Believable0 Unbelievable0

Liked most of the 3rd sentence. Think Ally should go

0 0

I'd love a 4-3-3 mate think a midfield of Law Peralta & McLeod with Little Daly & Temps up top but Jigs got to be in before Cribari & I take it Billy is Moshni? Lol

Larky Bear

Yea mate, Cammy bell called him billy the full game up at brora, and cribari by his shirt number.

Jig is ok but think last year was it for him, know its a bit harsh but a handfull of games here and there and defo not up top.

Dont know much about peralta apart from youtube and imagine he will take time to settle in so don't fancy him starting.

Still early days in to the pre-season but are we any clearer on what will be the first choice team come the start of the season? Templeton, Peralta and a central defender still to come in the team. It would looks like it might be along the lines of
Bell
Foster
Cribari
Mohsni (Hopefully he signs)
Wallace
Little
Hutton
Law
Templeton
Daly
Clark

Believable0 Unbelievable0

No McLeod are you crazy!

0 0

Cribari over McCulloch why?

Larky Bear

I still don't think ally will play 2 upfront I hope i'm wrong though. jmgers

0 0

One good thing, there will be plenty competition for starting places this season, let's hope we see some good football

Jg

0 0

We'll play 4-1-3-2 this season Ally used it in evey pre-season match

0 0

Have you seen the vid of the squad training? cribari is last in everything. he'll not play next year. gasparotto over him any day.

if we don't sign moshni or pandza then mcculloch will be cb

I am getting slightly fed up of "why we signing these players we are in division 2". Am I the only one who thinks that these players are part of a long term plan? What do people want ally to do? Sign a different team every year based on the league we are in? Or build a solid team just now with a decent average age that can stay together for a number of years and maybe give us the stability we need on the park? If these guys are successful then it's just one or two signings per year! Happy with the way things are going!

Believable0 Unbelievable0

Whilst its important to win the second division championship. We cannot trust the rest of the so called top flight clubs to stop you know who doing a treble, so it's imperative we win league or scottish cup.

Spot on mate was thinking the exact thing this morning. RTID

I am not over the moon with ally as boss but on basis 3 years is fair for ANY manager then we HAVE to give him time to get better (couldn't be worse) or fail (sadly likely on evidence last season). We are very lucky that for first time in our history we can AFFORD 3 seasons as not having to face tims at least till after that in league. This means IF ally continues as clueless then a new coach woud still have some time to sort out the tactical and coaching side we are lacking at moment. The point of the strong signings is that we have the quality in depth well in advance of meeting celtic so that in 2/3 years our squad won't be a million miles behind them and with some luck and Lennons (preseason lmao) coaching we might win SPFL in 3/5 years WHAT A DAY THAT WILL BE. Anyone else noticed how bad ally is looking btw? Beginning to worry about him a bit. Think him and Lennon both look awful sinse taking their managerial positions at the old firm.

Believable0 Unbelievable0

He has aged substantially In the past 2 years but he looks much better and happier now than he did through admin & Liquidation. As for NL when has he ever looked anything other than awful? Lol

Larky Bear

I thought that about ally, looks terribly in that picture with your new CEO, hope its nothing serious. Prob just stress, or maybe steroids for illness, they can blow you up. HH joe

0 0

So what if he's weighing in a 16 stone or whatever, he's 50 year old remember, guys that age tend to put on weight and I should know.

Seriously though if he's going to try and improve the fitness of the current squad then maybe he ought to think about losing a stone or two himself. For his own health as well.

0 0

Really noticed the weight he'd put on during the legends match. Looks very red in the face too. Stress will do that to you, as will turning to the bottle to cope.

0 0

Is any other manager fatter in the Scottish game? Jimmy calderwood is out of it now, isn't he? McCoist looks over 17 stone

Good pre season so far no goals conceeded wish I could say that about our glasgow counter parts lol

Believable0 Unbelievable0

Hopefully we can get a result in Germany and restore a bit of pride in Scottish football

0 0

So you want celtic to score goals then.

0 0

Yes I would be shocked if the highland league teams scored against you too pmsl
How's that preseason trip to the states going anyway? Another one you all chewed up and swallowed lol

0 0

HA ha @3, you chomped down on that one eh. Every time, so freeking easy.

0 0

@3 your team has let in 12 goals in 4 games PMSFL including 6 in one game and yer best striker doesn't want to play for u anymore and your club are covering it up by saying he 'injured'

This is what I think is the strongest rangers starting 11-bell, foster, pandza, mohsni, Wallace, little, law, mcleod, templeton, daly, clark, what do other gers fans think of this starting line up?BIG RAM

Believable0 Unbelievable0

Pandza and Mohsni don't even belong to Rangers yet.

Why do folk keep doing this?

I seen one a few weeks back that had GORDON Foster (before he had signed) BERRA, ZALIUKAS, Wallace, Peralta, Law, ARFIELD, McLeod, Aird, Daly, Clark.

Thats a goalie who might not even be able to play again. A full back who was still a Bristol City player, Berra & Zaliukas? and Scott Arfield who hasn't even been mentioned in the rags, by the management or had any kind of contract talks with the club.

Geez piece till they have signed on for the club will you.

0 0

No place in the team for McCulloch, and players who have not even signed.
We are moving forward with the players who are currently signed as the result and performance in the game V Bristol City proved.
Yes we could do with another Centre Back but Jig would be in my starting eleven.

0 0

@1 if we can secure the two cb that would also be my starting 11 spot on

0 0

It's a rumours website! So he's of course assuming they sign! Why do we continually need to jump on each other backs. Going on a RUMOURS site then moaning when you don't think something is true! What's the point? Go to tv!

0 0

@3) Where's Arfield coming from then?lol

And no Templeton or McCulloch? As I suspected mate, you couldn't pick your nose.

0 0

@5 apologies I meant to say I agree with the op no @1 but credit where credits due @1 couldnae pick his nose

0 0

Just remember guys all players signef are trialists with a view to signing in sept the club or the player still hasthe right to vito the move and I don't expect every player to sign at the end of the window espesicialy if the impress a championship club whilst in the shop window as a trialist

0 0

@7 am not sure playing in the 3rd tier of Scottish football will impress any sides in the championship

Was at the game today and I must say we were quite good. We were clearly the better team throughout but the high temps played a part in the quality towards the end which wasn't as good as the rest of the second half especially. One man I have been heavily critical of last year, Kyle Hutton, pleasantly surprised me with his assured performance and also Macleod changed the game when he came on. We could do worse than to build a team around he and templeton as honestly they are our two highest quality outfield players. With the right tutoring I honestly believe that Macleod has the potential to be Scotland's best midfielder or even more. Unfortunately though I don't believe that tutoring will occur at Murray park. Promising signs today though!
