Use our rumours form to send us rangers transfer rumours.

14 Mar 2015 21:37:46
A small thought guys, what do we think, the only hope of promotion is if mccall can possibly work on his many contacts down south and find a couple of free agents and sign them 'till the end of the season because this group of players ain't taking rangers up to the premiership, they're disinterested & have downed tools and to add to our many woes the players don't look fit

Believable2 Unbelievable4

14 Mar 2015 22:23:47
Jr the players have not been fit enogh these last 3 years, I remember people asking opinions on boyd coming back, I said he is looking lean and scoring plenty of goals at kilmarnock, I agreed he would be a good signing as long as he didn't go back to being fat lazy boydy, he was banging them in at killie abviously
ookin for his last big transfer, look at him now, if any of the current players get a new contract with us it should be a pay if you play contract, meaning if you don't get picked you don't get paid, that way they would need to rid themselfs of there excess body flab, I think most of them would fail to shift there excess cause when people get older its hsrder to work out, as we are currently seeing

15 Mar 2015 01:01:51
Jr anothernthing if mcculloch thinks he has got a chance of a new contract then smith, foster, zall, botd and millar must think they have a chance also, cause if we are honest they all put in the same amount of time and effort, they all think they are doing alright, and I will ask this question for all, considering we have just came through the 2 lowest leagues in our wee country and are struggling in the 2nd best league, can anybody tell me the last time anybody at our club currently put in a good hard honest shift worth remembering.

4 1

15 Mar 2015 07:51:12
edward I said the same thing about boyd I also have said for long and weary they are not fit enough the number of times they have been given the runaround by part timers beggars belief

1 0

15 Mar 2015 07:53:59
jr any free agents still without clubs at this stage of the season will be no better than what we have the only answer is to give some of the young guns a chance and leave flops in stand

2 0

15 Mar 2015 07:58:52
Stevie Smith is the lowest paid senior player and has never let the team down. Granted he's no David Alaba but he is better than most left backs especially Lee Wallace still to see him successfully make a tackle.

Didn't faure say in an interview they ate cakes at halftime during matches under mccoist? Any wonder they aren't fit

Wee bill the last 4 draws would not have been good enough even had hesrts and hibs dropped points, these 4 draws allowed hibs to catch up by 8 points, and if we play our games in hand like our last 2 games we can forhet about promotion, I've always said we would be lucky to make it to the play offs let alone win them, although I hope ime wrong if we don't get the youngsters involved I think we are totally screwed for next season regardless of what league we are in.

What's everyone's thoughts about bringing alcohol back to Scottish football grounds?

Believable1 Unbelievable4

14 Mar 2015 20:35:47
Would certainly of made today's viewing a hell of a easier on the eye, and I believe brewnie has been campaigning for this for sometime now.

Soton bear brilliant mate, op I don't think it should be allowed,

2 0

15 Mar 2015 00:01:23
Haha yeh booze and a showing of clockwork orange on the big screens! would be a more pleasant family atmosphere than what happens currently on the pitch!
Unless it is strictly controlled I don't think it should be allowed. Perhaps if they only served low alcohol beer, no spirits, and the customer can only buy one at a time. If not, there would always be one wee f*nny, from any fan base, who would drink too much and embarrass the team. Good folk are paying good money to watch with their kids, rather than listen to a drunken imbecile. It would make some penny's for the team sure , but it's not worth the greed for people to abuse it.

2 0

15 Mar 2015 07:59:31
Don't think it's the best idea at an old firm game lol. Maybe just turn the beer off when rangers are playing the way they are lol

15 Mar 2015 08:27:25
No. It's not much to ask going 90mins without a drink.

1 0

15 Mar 2015 13:47:17
90 mins of football at ibrox I think you would defo need a drink. I wasn't sure whether to use the word football there but we'll go with it. Just this once mind you

If the Newcastle players come up eventually, they might make the difference! Vuckic seems to be our best player!

Believable3 Unbelievable1

14 Mar 2015 20:16:21
Ha, good post. Just think how bad things would be if Vuckic was not there. He puts in a shift because he is fit. Reads like some of his mates will be arriving soon to bale us out during the play offs. The team is not fit, has not been fit all season, no pace and if today was playing for a new contract then some of these chaps failed miserably. Just think big jig on £72K a month and playing for Airdrie next season on £2K a month. That is the talent we have. Another onerous contract.

Anyway there are the March wages to be paid first, and a Tax bill. Mmnnnn!

I was at the game the day for the first time in 3 and half years and I will be honest the ground was bouncing for the first 15 20 mins but honestly McCulloch Miller boyd law Hutton Wallace Nicky Clark all need to go there all time wasters not even caring about playing for the jersey and people should be dying for that jersey running through brick walls you could see there all just a bunch of lazy players a mean getting a day off on a Thursday that's shocking there footballers and I beg to differ on that big style you lot better be ready from now on in to stand up and be counted Rangers players honestly your letting our club down big style

Believable3 Unbelievable0

Spot on a shower of underachieving wasters.

SSB
Couldn't agree more.
What exactly does Hutton bring to the team?
Clark is a lightweight and any half decent centre would have him in his pocket.
At least McCall was a bit more animated in the technical area than his predecessors so he appears to know what he wants the players to do but his raw materials ain't great!

2 0

14 Mar 2015 20:19:57
That's the mindset McCoist let set in at training and during games, the last trace of that regime is gone with McDowall leaving.McCall seems desperate to land this job full time and won't stand for it.Let's give him time, the same way King etc are going to need time.OK 2 straight promotions but I can't remember the last time we played well.Give him a chance.

3 0

14 Mar 2015 21:23:56
Totally agree, mccall certainly needs time as this team are not his he's inherited this sorry bunch, as per usual I was at the game today and as some other poster's touched on some of our players look so disinterested at times and for some reason don't look fit which is not on, I hope slider can kick this lot into shape, he's got one helluva difficult job to get us promoted, I'll make it clear it won't be mccall's fault if we don't get promoted as the damage has been done!

3 0

14 Mar 2015 22:31:13
Jr I honestly think to have any chance of going up we will need to use the youngsters guys that can last 90min and want to make a name for themself but main point is youngsters that want to play for rangers fc, the older guys in our team know they won't get a contract worth talking about after this season.

4 0

15 Mar 2015 08:01:23
Lol Hutton is our best player week in week out, do yous watch the games? Plays with his heart on his sleeve, maybe if he didn't have lazy players like law playing next to him he could let the shackles off

0 0

14 Mar 2015 18:23:18
This was harder on the eye watching them live as opposed to on the telly but it was good to go back I would have them in every day doing an eight hour shift like we have to do, no overnight fix, funny sort of day though didn't feel the same!

Believable6 Unbelievable0

14 Mar 2015 18:31:08
Didn't agree with his team selection dropping Murdoch yet keeping law although he is just in the door. C'mon McCall you can do it.

14 Mar 2015 19:13:17
I will support McCallnto the hilt but he can't let the likes of McCulloch, Boyd, or Miller worm their way into his head with any"come on boss, you know us, we'll get better"crap. Boyd was a great flat track bully, who vanished in Europe and against Celtic, McCulloch was never a great Rangers player, and should not be put in that category, feel for Miller, who bust his arse every time he played. but they are all done, finito, past it, not fit for purpose, and McCall needs to show the rest of the team that he will cut out the nepotism and bin them.

2 0

14 Mar 2015 19:37:14
So will you support him if he keeps playing mcculloch then

It wasn't me who said I will support McCall then go to say why you wouldn't, just asked what it would take for you to support your manager, or would you only support him unconditionally under your terms

0 0

15 Mar 2015 12:40:29
Bit late, I know, but where does it say I won't support him.? He'll make mistakes, but he'll still have the backing. Merely making some points that I hope he'll be as aware of as most of us are.

only advice I can give s. macoll is put the following on gardening leave along ally and macdowall maculloch black boyd simonsen zalukas aird foster moshni play the rest along with youngsters its the only way he will save his own reputation if we get int playoffs good and well if we don't at least we will know what the young players are like

Living in England, I couldn't be at the game but I will say this. We can't expect McCall to suddenly win his first game in charge 6-0. He probably hasn't seen how dire things have been and doesn't know which players should play. It will take time. We must give McCall time to make his mark. I agree with other posters that some of these pathetic players must go but McCall needs to see for himself. It might take four or five games to see an improvement and it might be too late for this season. So be it. Hearts & Hibs are not exactly world class. Let's see how well they do in the SPL. The problem goes back to McCoist & his management 'team'. Had he blooded younger players three years ago and the style of football had been different we'd be top of the league right now. More pain to come but we'll get there. WATP.

Believable8 Unbelievable1

14 Mar 2015 18:28:32
I agree DOIGER, what happened to giving him a chance? He's had 2 days with them ffs, we knew we were for the play offs anyway. When was the last time we played well?I can't remember.I think he can take us up.

5 1

14 Mar 2015 19:25:22
Why play the same players who have let the team down all season? I got Ally the sack, got McDowall the sack and if McColl doesn't watch out he won't be there next season either

0 0

14 Mar 2015 19:30:16
I agree he can't work miracles in 2 days, but he has been a pundit for B.T sport at our last few games so he does know how bad we've been playing, so much for all those players playing for new contracts. no matter what manager we got in they would struggle getting this team playing decent football, we need a total clearout but Stuart McCall must be given a chance. too many players there that don't deserve to play for our great club and it wasn't him that bought them. but he has to drop our captain

0 0

14 Mar 2015 22:55:25
Do I get. What's your point. Hearts and hibs aren't world class! We are 24 and 7 points behind them. With the second highest wage bill. If they ain't world class what does that make us. Please explain your point. I am confused!!

15 Mar 2015 00:09:08
The fonz ime begining to look at it that it wasnt just the last owners that were robbing us, the current players seem to be doing the robbing now, they don't deserve to be paid imo, the tv people tried to get us into the championship when our troubles began instead of us the 4th division, thank feck that never happened eh, imagine the current team in the championshipm3 seasons ago, we would have got relagated probably

0 0

15 Mar 2015 09:04:17
The Fonz. My point was sarcastically saying that Hearts and Hibs aren't exactly great teams (OK world class a bit over the top) so it should have been within Rangers' capablities to win the Championship this season. What happened to the Gers team that defeated three SPL teams in cup competitions earlier this season?

4 0

15 Mar 2015 20:10:56
Doiger ime in agreement mate, I recon the team that made such a big fuss of going throgh the 3rd league undefeated thought all the leagus would be won as easily, they never thought about the teams that were relagated ie hearts and hibs, and I know mccall must be givin time I hope he does not give any of yhe players a new contract, I hope we use the youngsters, I think if mccoist had done so in the beginin we would have took another season or to in reaching the top league, but it would have been worth it,

14 Mar 2015 17:41:49
Yes another false dawn with this squad of players!

5-0 a said, haha poor McCall just came in and done what every other clown does, plays mcCulloch, honestly, and I know it's not his fault we draw, but with him in the team week in week out, ANY striker, or ANY team, playing against him, know, they've got a chance, there's NO fear going to ibrox now, and the NO fear part, is down to our own incompetence in our managers running the team, there's NO pace upfront, so all teams have to do, is either, man mark our strikers, or play a high line, and they'll get a result, and at the back, we'd conceed against an under 14s team! I know McCall has only started, but he's been on BT sport every time we've played, so am blaming his incompetence today for our dire 1-1 draw with the bottom of the league!!

Believable3 Unbelievable0

Alex Ferguson took 5 years to get Manchester United together and some people on here looking for McCall to rebuild us and do everything right first game

Reality check required!

Anyway I personally feel McCall had to at least pick the side he felt was best and THEN assess how they play before deciding on who is not deserving of a place.

I think he had limited choices in defence we are desperately short there due to past pathetic signings and squad building by supermanager. I think he has given McCulloch a chance but he will now have seen what has been obvious for a long time he needs to go and now

I am happy to trust McCall till end season and see how he gets us playing when he has had a chance not after ONE game get real please

We are with you Stuart and I trust you will get it right

Unfortunately we are where we are. Some very good players ( at other clubs shiels, temps, daly, law, boyd) appear to have been badly handled on the training ground . WE are a dreadful football team who seem to be unfit compared to the other teams in the division. What is the solution?. UNFORTUNATELY a total clear out of everybody on 5k a week. With the exception of bell.New hungry players aged 25 or under blended with our best yougsterson contracts of no more than 3k a week who are paid in bonuses. So a win bonus is paid the amount to vary depending on the oppostkion. So this season it would be a bigger bonus agaist hearts than alloa. With big bonus for promotion. We are in the 2nd tier of scottish football and paying anyone more than 5k a week for good football is still the economics of the madhouse. Even more so than the dross that these imposters have been serving up. I will take another season in the championship, we ain't going up, total new menu of players and football philosophy

You heard right wull livi looked so much fitter and faster all over the park, everything looks sluggish and tired vukic at least seems to have a bit of energy and urgency but he has been training at a different club all season I suppose that tells its own story.

More of the same, another year in the championship I think, get rid of the 14 deadlegs draining the club, total team rebuild required.3 draws against three of the poorest teams in the league, we are a joke as a team.Feel sorry for McCall, a massive job ahead.Another Saturday ruined, my hair gets greyer by the day.

Believable5 Unbelievable0

14 Mar 2015 17:59:21
Sorry but can't feel sorry for McColl. WHY pick the same players who have let the club down time and time again? Hutton, Law, McCulloch, Miller and Clarke consistently fail yet he picks them. Gallagher has scored more goals for Cowdenbeath than any of the strikers but doesn't get a look in, Templeton is the only wide player we have but can't get a game and Shiels hardly features. McColl hax just copied Ally and McDowall with his team selection and it's not going to work

3 1

14 Mar 2015 19:43:11
Stewie I seen stuart mccall given the keeper dogs early on for punnting the long ball, and I hope mccall gets them playing from the back, but I also stated on here mccall had motherwell playing the long ball, hence the nickname, long ball mccall, he has the chance of a lifetime trying to build a good rangers team I hope he succeeds, but to do so he will need to bring in the youngsters quickly imho.

Vukic knackered because he was only player closing down. McCulloch might get a new contract, if we need a janny for Murray Park. Got to play Templeton and Shiels from start, and play ANYONE at centre half except McCulloch. sure McCall would be stunned at how unfit and off the pace we were. used to think Nicky Clark got a raw deal, but he's had major game time, and he is one of these guys where the ball will hit his arse/ear/elbow/ when he gets anywhere near the goal. Kyle Hutton another guy that's had "potential" ever since he managed to stay upright and face the right way in a game against Man U. in Champs league, but he's another reason why we play so feckin slowly. he's like Barry Ferguson on Mogadon. and finally Lee Wallace. what happened to him? used to run like a deer, cross, shoot, tackle.maybe we should have sold him before McCoist reduced him to a poor man's Joe Tortolano.

7 0

14 Mar 2015 16:38:24
Why are livvi miles fitter and sharper than us?. they close us down all the time, but we can't get near them. McCulloch so feart about getting down for pace he's behind keeper half the time. Rather play without him. Liability.

Believable5 Unbelievable0

14 Mar 2015 18:30:12
It seems to be a common theme that runs through every game. The opposition is always quicker and fitter. This is obviously down to the previous management's training regime. Don't know if they have started the season thinking they have just to turn up to pick up a win and by the time they have realised they would need to dig deep to get out of the division it's been too late and they can't motivate themselves. Mccall needs to overhaul the whole MP set up, sharpen this lot up. Only Vuckic looks up for it. He must not have allowed himself to be dragged down to the level of the rest. yet. McCulloch, Hutton, Clark, Law, Miller, should all be dropped for Zaliuskas, Murdoch, Shiels, Templeton and Daly. Young Walsh looked promising at times and I think he, Murdoch and Templeton could provide quality balls for Daly and Shiels. Must try something different!

3 0

14 Mar 2015 19:59:35
Noddy they didn't need to think about turning up and would win, they knew they only needed to turn up to get picked, I hope mccall drops them all and we settle for another year in the championship, mcccall has a great oppertunity to build us a good team for our return to top league, another year in chamlionship would be the best thing to happen imo,

I have a dreadful fear that McCall will allow McCulloch to remain in the defence, which I think is a mistake. At best if he has to be on the field, I would have him in support of the attack and no where near the defence.

Believable1 Unbelievable0

14 Mar 2015 14:39:36
He has only been in 2 days give him a chance but who is it you would have put in? Please don't say zaliukius because he is even more inept that jig

0 2

Sadly he has I am hoping this is purely as we are so sadly limited in defence options rather than the automatic McCulloch pick to date. the rest of the side is good esp Walsh being in the team, no Daly/Boyd/Black can only be good of the old pals crew at least Miller has pace and fight, he is at least fit.

Good luck to you Stuart McCall and Rangers I hope you get a centre half in one of Newcastle players asap.

0 0

BT,

Had a look at Faure playing history and he was centre back for Lyon and International French U 20 and U17s sides at 6ft 1" I can see McCall maybe finding a centre half if he can sort out a right back in the squad.French international sides are no mugs so seems a no brainer.

1 0

Hard call I am sadly tended to think he has NO option as we are so weak at the back.

I just looked up all the players profiles and Streete at 6ft 1" is the player we want to get fit asap Ferguson is left back/wing and Mbabu and Bigirimana both under 6ft plus Birgimana is more midfield than defence. Mbabu at nr 6ft is an option IF FIT but Streete is the real shoe in centre half we need.

So BT you are right he does not really have a great deal of choice. Personally I would always play a natural defender in Zaliukas ahead of McCulloch but being honest I would stick anyone in defence ahead of McCulloch he is a hinderance and not forgotten the celtic pals chat with commons that was out of order.

i said it previously on here, Faure IS a good central defender, but our biggest problem just at the moment, apart from lack of fitness, is that every bleeding game we are chopping and changing the team. Patience is required sometimes so we should pick the skeleton of players who MUST be in the team, then try out the others game on game, And also, another big sign of lack of fitness is the huge amount of petty injuries we are getting. We bring in players who do well but get taken off injured, then they don't get another game sometimes for weeks on end.

Wee bill I agree but I honestly think mccall should talk to dukebox and durrant, then get all the players together drop 6 or 7 of the first team tell them they have probably played there lsst game for our club, and tell the 6 youngsters to show they have it in them to play for our club tell the youngster the possition is theres, getting them some game time, and letting them know what's expecred of them next season,

Am getting ready to head to the game, was howling this morning though, after a read "big jigs" interview! Ha ha ha everybody fighting for their life's, I'll win a new contract hahaha oh my god, after I read that, the paper looked as if I had dropped it in water, not was that soaking wet with tears of laughter! You've got to give the big man it though, he's as slow as 4 years in the nick, and a terrible defender, just he's confident, I'll give him that, he's been great for the club, up until the start of this season, and present, most probably our weakest link out the whole shambolic squad, hasn't opened his mouth all year, apart from having a laugh with kris commons at half time in the old firm game, now we've got a decent manager in now, to steady the ship, he's trying to stand up and be counted hahaha he's lucky the whole of Scotland has been laughing at us all season, or he maybe have pulled the wool over a few people's eyes with his defiant words earlier on! The first thing McCall should do today, is drop him, he shouldn't be anywhere near that team, not unless we're 0-0 with 10 minutes to go, fire him on upfront or something! On a brighter note, I'm going for 5-0 Rangers today!!

I don't disagree with your elbows post but the scoreline. Would love too win 5-0 mins you but I think they will score.

My prediction would be a 3-1 i'm always wrong right enough they only way we are guaranteed a win is if I bet rangera to win haha

14 Mar 2015 13:50:26
His time is up at Rangers and he shouldn't be given a new contract. We have a major problem at centre half as McCulloch and Zalukis are done, Moshni is a bombscare and McGregor has no positional sense also still annoys me that Griffiths kept out jumping him in the recent old firm game. Added to that we don't have a recognised right back either

0 0

Colin you put in words exactly what I was thinking he suddenly stands up to be counted now, funny that wanting to appear the great Rangers Captain.

John Greig and Richard Gough would never have been seen having a laugh on the pitch and walking off losing - with a celtic player. In my opinion he shouldn't have been in the squad this season but after that game should have been thrown out squad end of. Embarassing.

Well said Colin 100% right let's hope McCall doesn't fall for his s**te

No seriously though Marty, things will take time, King and co. even said as much and I'm sure it will all be revealed by the summer time. As for Ashley's merchandise deals again we can't just rip them up. Perhaps you are well learned in the legal field of contract obligations, I am certainly not, however common sense would show that we can't just bin them without legal repercussions?
I think Doiger had already answered your question on 'what has actually changed?' ie the change of personnel .
Sleep well young Marty don't lose any sleep over our predicament .

Martybhoy. I can sense the fear. Why are you so obsessed with all things Rangers? I'd focus on your beer-swilling, kebab-scoffing captain if I were you. Aberdeen breathing down your throats and the might GERS on the way back to the top!

Notsosmartymarty tying to spoil the party

Can I take it from the proposition in your original post "what has changed at Ibrox" that like all Rangers fans, all the European football authorities and the Legal profession that you too agree nothing has changed at Ibrox? We are still Glasgow Rangers, 143 years, 54 titles the top club in the World titles wise?
Why thank you Martin, may I call you that, it is good to see one of the bhoys standing up to the idiots in his ownsupport that are the only people in the world that fail to understand the fact that nothing has changed.
In fact in a year or so all will be back to normal with title 55 in the bag.

Can you please explain the comment "my point nothing has changed" then you go onto to say unveil a temporary manager. Well that's a change for a start as its a different person. Marty lad I think the club is owed some sort of recompense from Ashley, all his cheap commercial deals etc. also we are probably paying huge chunks of his players wages, 3 of whom are injured.
Any way don't worry yourself too much about us. Thanks any way.

14 Mar 2015 10:19:42
Ashley owns just under 10% of rangers and will never own anything above ever 😃 he wants to send players up the road to help the gers the it's all good Marty p.s what about the family man Scott brown? 3 sets of chicken dippers? And he's even gave interviews in the past about his family, he's a disgrace, absolute joke, been exposed for what he is!

Celtic will be happy if the players they took from United help them win tomorrow. what's wrong with players from Newcastle playing for us? . and let's give McCall a chance, after all loads of bhoys were after Deila a few games in, especially after they went out of Europe for the second(or was it the third,? Hard to keep track) time.

Laylex stuart mccall will need to get the players fitter if we are to make it up through the play offs, or else get the younger player into the team, fit youngstrers trying to make there name in the game eh.

Ayrloyal, Rangers need a complete rebuild. Almost a new playing squad. (13 are out of contract at end of season, most should be let go). There will be no scouting network this season. A new manager needs to come in and get 2 seasons to mould something with his own choice of players and he may need £10 mill over 2 seasons to do that. So will the fans give him that time? It seems that because there is a new board in place many fans think everything is resolved. There is a long long way to go. Until the income stream exceeds the outgoings it will require lots of cash. Ashley needs paying back and is that £7 mill or £10mill? Then investment in infrastructure, players, back room etc. £25 mill would be the minimum but with Ashley repayments it's probably north of £30mill. So let's see who steps up with that amount of cash? Until that's done there will be no new dynamic manager at Rangers.
