With barrie mckay being frozen out at forest what do u all think about bringing him back for competition for candeias and murphy our bench looked a bit lightweight compared to celtics at weekend.

14 Mar 2018 23:46:39
Then he'd just take the hump again about being on the bench

15 Mar 2018 07:51:55
We had jack, Dorrans, Martin, mccrorie, Wallace and if you want to count rossiter all injured that's why it was light. If everyone was fit whatever the starting 11 was that would leave a good bench

15 Mar 2018 09:58:10
Id definitely give him another chance for 500k not too much of a gamble

15 Mar 2018 17:24:23
I thought his attitude was questionable to say the least and some of his performances were that of a man not trying. The same situation has happened at Forest now and of McKay isn’t careful he could end up like Ness or Kyle Hutton

15 Mar 2018 20:46:57
No way should Mckay return he dumped us.

14 Mar 2018 17:17:59
hopefull dorrans will be bk for the semi came three 45mins vs brentford b today lee wallace had a full 90

15 Mar 2018 11:50:20
Barrie McKay is worth another punt and we should bring him back, £300k?

14 Mar 2018 14:10:48
I tend to ignore overall stats and look at game to game what is happening on Park. From that perspective our defence is poor leaking cheap goals and IMO until Morelos and Cummings allowed to gel together attack will be lacking. This may mean 4-4-2 which I'm not against but we should have whole close season to perfect.

14 Mar 2018 18:26:14
Murty would not go 442 against Celtic that had 5 in the middle.
We sat off them, inviting them on to us to try hit them on the break. We should have pressed them more like with the first goal as they are as bad if not worse than us defensively.

14 Mar 2018 22:54:56
Aye Union Jack we scored 3 against u on Sunday you score 2,we’ve conceded 2 to your 5 against us this season and conceded 15 goals less than u in the league, but our defence is worse! Hahahaha! More Colin nish yet again LOL!

15 Mar 2018 09:36:13
That’s because no one presses your lot high up the park san7 as Union Jack said if you read his post correctly, as Hearts did to your lot at tynecastle where they completely run over your defence 👍🏻. follow follow san7

15 Mar 2018 11:45:35
Haha Jack Union! That u Union Jack kidding on someone is sticking up for you? LOL! The point was made that our defence is worse than yours, which quite clearly isn’t the case! But whatever makes your pain that little much more bearable! Hahahaha.

14 Mar 2018 10:08:11
Right not posted for a week bit but I've been watching all these posts for sometime and most I agree with. After Sundays display its plain to see we hav a team that is playing well albeit we missed a few situations but overall I can see we are going to be great to watch next season. Give Murty the job and see where he can take us, he still a bit inexperienced but you only learn and some of the managers he played under proves he will be a success whether its or somewhere else. Mark Allen and Jimmy Nic are also doing a magnificent job and it all points to greater things. All the rubbish we have had to walk through this past 5 years is about to come to a end and this great football club will be back to where it belongs.

14 Mar 2018 11:24:36
it will be interesting to see what murty does over the next 3-4 games in the run upto the semi, however stats show that there has been little improvement

Warburton - 43 points from 72 possible (24 games)
Pedro - 38 points from 60 possible (20 games)
Murty - 44 points from 72 possible (24 games)

14 Mar 2018 11:57:34
Prefer to use my own eyes Rabc and there has been a marked improvement all round since Murty took over, so much so that we we should have beaten Celtic on Sunday and that could not have been expected when Pedro got sacked. Secure 2nd, run them close in the semi again and see what can be done in the summer transfer window.

Next season is all about turning round our home form and trying to become unbeatable against the rest. The Old Firm games will take care of themselves but pressure will come on them if we are not dropping silly points against lesser sides.

14 Mar 2018 12:26:40
RabC - I think to compare Murty's stats with Pedro and Warburton seems a bit ludicrous? The man is a developmental coach and the other two are apparently "established" managers, so from that point of view, Murty has exceeded all expectations at this moment in time.

14 Mar 2018 12:54:23
Dont think you can judge murty from before the transfer window he was only working with what he got left with but since transfer window there has been a big improvment

14 Mar 2018 12:55:43
That's one way of looking at it Rab.
You could also say Murty has a winning percentage of 69.57% (this season) .

Pedro 51.85%.

Warburton 65.85% and most of these games were in the championship.

So by going with these numbers there is an improvement.
I'm just playing devil's advocate here, I don't like statistics and as we all know you can cherry pick numbers to support an opinion/ agenda.

My opinion from watching the games is that there has been an improvement under Murty particularly with in the style and bringing respectability to Rangers both on and off the pitch.

14 Mar 2018 13:14:38
@wee_bear sure some of our performances have been really good to watch but nothing alters the fact that all 3 have picked up similair totals and all 3 have some horrendous results and performances.

@binyin93 yes i agree to an extent but when you say murty is a development coach that for me is exactly why i do not think he is a long term answer for us. an experianced manager would have made the changes on sunday to take the game to them and won. just my opinion of course

14 Mar 2018 14:41:53
RabC - I do actually agree with you on that point, an experienced manager would have made the changes and potentially won the game earlier on, but to see how far we have come since January not only on the field but the players togetherness off the field, for me merits Murty being given the chance to prove his worth for one full season.

I think if the board did decide to move Murty back to being a Developmental Coach then who comes next? Who can possibly take us that one step further next season? Frank De Boer? Steve Clarke? I'm just not sure.

14 Mar 2018 14:54:48
There has without doubt been improvement since murty took over! Come on, how many old firms were we competing with them? Pedro and warbs failed, except that semi we won on pens, but that was deila in charge of them, (their equivalent to pedro) murty for Me, deserves at least a one year contract AND funds to spend, then he can be judged but I really do believe he would do well! Of course I would like a big name no nonsense manager, but would they get a better reaction from our players than murty has?

14 Mar 2018 20:21:46
Most awful use of stats I've ever seen

14 Mar 2018 20:38:55
Think we need to see how the next 2 games go against them before we can see how far we have come. Feel too many fans are being premature about our progression. After all Kilmarnock managed to beat them unlike us. So are they closing the gap too?

14 Mar 2018 21:30:12
Rab stats are there fair enough. But Murty has got the best out of Warbertons players and Pedro's. Something they could not do. Murty done a good job in my eyes but as he says there is always room for improvement. Onwards

14 Mar 2018 08:03:01
The problem I think we all have is Morales thinks he's better than he actually is?
There is no doubt he is not a bad wee player but will never hit the top leagues in Europe. His attitude at being substituted in most games is not great after having stinkers and the miss at the weekend was indefensible! Giving the choice long term most Gers fans would surely take Cummings over Morelos all day long? We have a boy in Cummings who wants to play for the club and let's build at team round him! 🇬🇧.

14 Mar 2018 10:37:52
where did you get that drivel post from, not one of your points too many gers fans will agree with, if we had beat them on sunday or got a draw you would not be on here posting that nonsence

14 Mar 2018 11:06:27
Absolute rubbish Cummings is not the player Morelos is yes he misses a few sitters but he’s top goal scorer, the work he does for the team is immense he bullied that Celtic defence all day, he’s young and will get better you give the attitude you think he doesn’t want to play for us well why did he sign a new contract on Fri, Cummings isn’t a bad player but he is never the team player of Morelos he would always be my first pick

14 Mar 2018 12:17:10
Why did he sign a contract extension? Think about it, thinkaboutit.
The obvious answer would be for the undoubted wage increase. Secondly, players often sign contract extensions before leaving as a favour to the club to get them a bit of extra money on the deal when they sell him. Unless, of course you believe that we did actually turn down a £10m offer for him.

14 Mar 2018 13:02:06
Sorry I can't agree with you at all Yately.
I like Cummings and would like to see us sign him permanently for us but I actually see him more as a squad player.

I've never had any problems with players being visibly unhappy at being substituted, it shows how much they want to play. His missing sitters is a little worrying though.

Can I ask why you think he believes he is better than he is?
There are couple of players in our squad that I believe have rampant egos but Morelos isn't on of them.

14 Mar 2018 14:45:16
I actually agree with Yately here, because Cummings would do anything to get into that starting line-up, whereas Morelos would do anything for a big move away from Ibrox.

Time will tell I suppose and STYAB is right, why would Morelos sign an extension other than more wages and to get us more money when he eventually moves on in the summer. We are a mere stepping stone.

14 Mar 2018 16:26:55
The problem is truebluesotrue we never drew or won on Sunday!

14 Mar 2018 18:15:07
what a load of nonsense, what's wrong with being upset at coming of, what's wrong at wanting to better yourself or get best wages you possible can. why would rangers offer a new contract with higher salry if they didn't think he was an asset. cummins is a finisher i agree but he doesn't do all the other stuff that moroles does. for me he starts before anyone else and eithe cummins plays alongside or comes off the bench and sorry i have a feeling murty agrees too.

14 Mar 2018 20:42:42
Morelos needs to improve his chance conversion for sure but no one can write the wee man off, he’s still very likely to finish top goalscorer this season!

Review Of The Day 14th March 2018

14 Mar 2018 06:10:42
{Ed's Note - Ed001 has posted a new article entitled, Review Of The Day 14th March 2018

14 Mar 2018 02:42:12
Yet again, another player being slated by some of our own 'support' on social media.

Morelos is getting it this time round. Disgraceful some of the comments on his Instagram and Twitter. I've actualy seen Morelos liking posts defending him on Instagram also, hope it doesn't affect the Wee mans confidence 🤦🏻‍♂️

He's 21 years old, 17 goals for the season, 6 assists. You can't accuse him of laziness, he does not shy away from physical contact with defenders.

Missing two great chances in an Old Firm game is a sore one to take for the fans but people need to have a word with themselves.

14 Mar 2018 07:09:00
I’m lost for words with the amount of people defending his work rate, it’s really really poor when we don’t have the ball. He continually makes false run’s pretending to close a man down but not actually doing it. Similar criticism has been giving of Fabregas in the past. The number of times he gets cought offside again highlights his poor work rate and naivety. Now I’m not slagging the guy off as you’ve stated he’s only 21 and has had an excellent first season but he must improve his work rate (especially off the ball) and timings of runs if he wants to play at a reasonable level. Just now he wouldn’t make the first team of any of the top 5 championship teams.

14 Mar 2018 07:15:12
Yes BearMode91,some of our supporters do need to have a very long conversation with themselves mate! I was as disappointed as any other bear, coming out of ibrox on sunday! We were all saying that morelos missed an absolute sitter, which is correct! Like all exceptionally good strikers before him, he has missed a few, this season, these things happen! But some go too far and some of the criticisms of morelos are way over the top and totally uncalled for imo! Morelos as a striker most certainly brings much more pluses to the rangers team, than negatives, that's for sure and not even up for debate! Get behind the guy as he's still so very young and will get better and better! His goalscoring record for us in his maiden season in scottish football, is pretty good! He has a 1 in 2 ratio! He'll learn more on his missed chances and the very good thing any good striker always needs, is he's in the positions to get the chances! Give the guy a break and get behind him to instill his confidence, instead of some of you castigating the young man because he's missed what all strikers have done, chances!

14 Mar 2018 08:54:41
Just can't agree with you Hollow55!Morelos brings a helluva lot to the team and the way murty wants rangers to play! His hold up play is paramount here, as this allows our midfielders up in support, thus why windass has scored as much as fredo! I don't know what you're watching mate but imo his clever workrate off the ball, in bullying and dragging defenders all over the place, is top notch! He makes space for example windass, to burst through with those runs! I certainly wouldn't question his workrate! Not to mention like i said earlier,17 goals and something like 6 assists in his maiden season in scottish football, says a lot for me mate! All at the tender age of just 21 years old! Into the bargain there's much more improvement to come!

14 Mar 2018 10:01:04
Well I respect your view Supercooper, I still believe (after watching him a good amount this season) he will need to improve this if he expects to be a EPL player. Perhaps in a few seasons he’ll be smarter and fine tuned a number of aspects of his game to make him a top player but as you today he’s not there. Still a great signing for £1m and a very good set of results in his first season - as you say, more to come (if he’s open minded and determined enough to improve)

14 Mar 2018 10:03:53
Morelos has not been here a full season yet but has twice stated that he wants to leave if you say things like that you have to be banging them in for us in the big games or he has to except the flak that comes with it

14 Mar 2018 11:11:34
Rubbish he signed a new contract on Fri and few players in Scotland would not want to play in the EPL we are a selling club and if the time and money are right all players are for sale same with Celtic and all other Scottish clubs

14 Mar 2018 12:08:45
How many did Kris Boyd score for us against them?

14 Mar 2018 13:20:08
To be fair DEEB, kris boyd hardly got a start against celtic! Check it out!
