McCoist is a clown he's just adversely affected Lewis international career mabey so that he wouldn't have got on to the pitch but still good for him to be involved with the squad as he'll have a decent international career would McCoist have been happy at his gaffer pulling him out of a scotland squad? I was always willing to give McCoist a break due to his history with the club rangers are bigger than one man and if anyone is going to say would I accept a defeat tomorrow then tbh I would as you learn as much from a man in defeat as you do in victory although and I hate to say this McCoist learns nothing in victory of defeat.

p's brilliant result for Scotland tonight.

Believable0 Unbelievable0

TBear, Probably not the end of the world for young Lewis, but the points you make are totally valid. You also summed up McC. , he is only interested in numero uno.

0 0

What utter nonsense, did you think Lewis was going to walk into the Scotland team for tonight's game, doh he was brought in to experience the Scotland set up which he no doubt will be a part of in the future, now he can play with us tomorrow then go back with the squad and be part of the build up to the England game, he might even get some time on the park

Bad post Tbear

He's called up for the scotland squad he should have remained there!!ive never heard of a player being loaned back to his club to play not saying it doesn't happen I've just never heard of it am sure we could have beaten Alloa without Lewis but obviously ally doesn't!!dont say much for the rest of our squad if we can't find another player to fill in for 1 match!!

0 0

OP did you read your post back before pressing send? You would accept a defeat at home to Alloa to learn something about our manager ? That's the daftest post on here. Macleod was NEVER going to play any part last night so he will play for his team today then go back to the Scotland squad to prepare for a game which he could any maybe even should figure and that would perhaps tell us a bit about starchan and his intentions but Lewises international career is just beginning that much is certain.

0 0

Playing today could be the best thing for Lewis, we all know he is level headed and grounded but playing for his club as soon as possible after being part of a Scotland squad will only help keep him grounded and this is his bread n butter, what he lives for. He can then prepare for a big challenge match against England where he might get game time.

Wee strachan must be a clown as well then as he seems to think it would benefit Lewis to play as well, then return to the squad on Sunday.

Two words about the whole affair-

Laughing stock.

0 0

Are there really Gers fans out there that don't want to see mcleod playing for us today?

0 0

UHF. I would not have bothered if he never played, though he has been playing well of late I think he should have stayed with the Scotland team, he must be allowed to advance his career imo

0 0

N3ryan I have always wondered if this is why lee Wallace never got a second shout as the same thing happened ie scotland manager was asked to release Wallace from the squad, so as he could play for us

I feel that now the arrests have been made we may just get some of the facts regarding the acquisition.
I will be very surprised if the men arrested don't spill the beans and I hope that everyone involved gets their due deserves. Time will tell.
Fintytint makes a valid point re the assets and if the fraud is ultimately proved then the 'oldco' might be in the money. A can of worms, you better believe it.

Believable0 Unbelievable0

Does this mean we could be back doon ta the bottom again.

0 0

Why doom the bottom again? Were wur when this began?

14 Nov 2014 20:00:07
@billyb there is no money coming to Rangers over the acquisition even if it was fraudulant. First of all this relates to the first acquisition in 2011. Rangers went into liquidation after that so Sevco have not lost anything. Sevco bought the assets from the liquidators, different people. How can you get any money when this fraud is actually about another company? The fraud is about what Craig Whyte did re ticketus etc and what the administrators knew when they sold the original club to Whyte. This is about old Rangers.

WILL SDM have anything to answer for his part in this sham.

0 0

Johnnymac: I don't know who your sources are, but I'd imagine its the media like the rest of us. While agreeing there will be no money to be had, its early days and reports are wide ranging at the moment. Its a case of wait and see.

14 Nov 2014 22:12:21
MacLeod will play against Alloa, GREAT.

0 0

Soton bear, I feel he is involved somewhere. Not just him but other prominent parties. Who knows, this might just give us the answers we need.

0 0

Johnnymac, Yes it is about the 'oldco' but a situation develops where an asset[s] are sold at a lower than estimated value and, as such, we enter a further fraud situation. As I said before it is a total can of worms.

Take from someone who knows s d m had nothing to do with scam the bank of scotland forced him to sell they were the people in the woodpile

GKK and billyboy my sources are not the media. I have no source apart from understanding exactly what happens in an insolvency or a liquidation. In an administration it is very common for assets to be sold under market value for a variety of reasons which I won't bore you with. So that would not make it a fraudulent transaction.Every administration is unique. However there is no financial gain for Sevco in this. The administrators have already been admonished re their handling of the admin. The case can only be about what people knew about what Whyte was doing and what they knew about what he was doing and was he acting in a fraudulent manner? If so and they knew that he was acting fraudulently then they may be guilty under secretion 2 of the theft act. I can only assume it centres around the £18mill bank debt and Ticketus as basically that is how the deal was funded, but we shall see.

We'll blue velvet and gkk I see Lewis McLeod will play for Rangers tomorrow, are you still embarrassed by Ally or are you pleased that you will get to see him play at Ibrox.

Believable0 Unbelievable0

Jyf, You totally miss the point that several posters were trying to make. If we cannot beat Alloa, no disrespect, with a team minus Lewis McLeod then God help us. Also, it deprives the boy of enjoying being an integral part of the international scene.
Yes it suits our team selection but does it suit the young man. I think not.

0 0

@1 If you were in Lewises position would you want to play for Rangers tomorrow or sit in the stand watching Scotland then having a day off when you team are playing at home. I would love McLeod to play for Scotland but I'm going to love him playing for the Gers tomorrow and Ally should be praised for ensuring he can not called a balloon, and by the way Rangers should beat Alloa 100 times out of a 100 at Ibrox so why no disrespect.

0 0

OP, what is it you don't understand?

Our mismanager has just shouted from the rooftops that he doesn't think we are good enough to beat Alloa if Lewis McLeod isn't in our team.

Do you not think that is embarrassing? I certainly do.

0 0

14 Nov 2014 18:00:23
Jyf : Give it up man!!! You've put your point across, duly noted by all.Let's move on.

0 0

@3 what I don't understand is how you can call yourself a Rangers fan with your mismanager nonsence and when did he shout from the rooftops that we are not good enough to beat Alloa without McLeod? He stated that he wants our best player playing for us IF and only if he did not play for Scotland so no I don't think that is embarrassing but I think you are!

0 0

@ 5.

Ok

ally, I'm right behind you in your campaign to get Lewis freed from his first call up to the Scotland squad. Like you, I'm a bit nervous about taking on the mighty Alloa without him in our team. So I'd just like to give you a massive vote of confidence and also think it was a great motivation for the rest of the squad!

Well Done ally.

Is that better, does that keep you happy?

Do me a favour.

Was it coincidence Ashleys men are seen with Stockbridge the night before these dawn raids?Did they stumble upon a paper trail leading back to Stockbridge containing evidence of some sort? I hope we are about to finally get some answers, be they good or bad news its better to know now.

Been confirmed arrests are in relation to fraudulent aquisition of the assets in 2012.Its more s**t surrounding the club, but I was hoping it was about the missing millions from season tickets and shares.

0 0

Gkk are you sure its not about the acquisition in 2011 and actions by whyte that drove the club into admin in 2012??

Charles Green headed that one up so can only assume he has been pulled as one of the four. However they are saying it is to do with the "takeover" and not with the running of the club? I wonder if it has anything to do with Green going back on a deal with Whyte? Green was very open that he bluffed him out of the deal? On another point I am amazed that no shareholders have complained to the police regarding what has happened. All directors have an obligation to all shareholders to protect their interest (investment). I would think it would be clear that some manipulation of funds has gone on. By creating a gravey train where money is sloshing around may make it more difficult to pin down what happened but these arrests today are only the start of it. It will end in prosecutions. Another poor and embarrassing day at Rangers. It never stops.

Just been on news, 2 were employees of d & p 1 an advisor to whyte and a lawyer who helped with the sale.

The Mike Ashley money is loans to keep the club afloat month to month but has to be paid back to him so where do we get the money to pay Mike Ashley and at what cost if we can't? Vicious Circle springs to mind.

The more he loans us the more we have to pay back. Very good deal for MA as well as the retail revenue.

Believable0 Unbelievable0

The loans are never intended to be paid back. This is how someone gets to own club assets without buying shares.

0 0

14 Nov 2014 13:51:36
I thought it had been highlighted ashley had been buying shares between 8 & 9% I believe ?
r. f

0 0

But he's not allowed to own more than 10% at the moment, so the only other way to increase his ownership is to own assets with a value to the club.

0 0

Expat - just exactly what value does Edmiston house bring to the club, it is derelict, is costing money to keep and should never have been bought in the first place, Let Ashley keep it for his three million loan, good deal for us

JG

0 0

To be fair jg, is it the building or the land the building is on that has the value for ashley !!!!

0 0

Boy blue the building or the land has no value for Ashley. He gave us a loan and any loan requires security, the last letham easdale loan was secured against edmiston so is this one.

JG

0 0

N2 although he has shares he has not put any money into rangers, except loans, that he will expect to be paid back

The Evening Tim is reporting that Souness says he was involved in the recent Kennedy bid. The idea of Souness getting involved gets my juices going, a real Rangers man, hard-nosed, with good business sense.

If only the club wasn't being continually handed from one spiv to another to take a bit each in a sickening game of pass-the-parcel, where the good guys like Kennedy and Souness are passed over by the people with the power to choose who gets the next shot at the ba'.

Believable0 Unbelievable0

14 Nov 2014 12:01:03
How do u know Kennedy a good guy?and souness yes rangers fan did jump ship though a month before the end of the season to sign for Liverpool which i thought was lousy as feck!!all good in the end though thanks to big hately

0 0

I'm using the simple measurement that the spivs didn't want to hand over the ball to him.

0 0

I agree ryan, i remember souness doing a interview at the 1986 world cup, about how he would love to go into management, and would love to do that at the club he always supported, rangers. as he left to join liverpool he claimed the pull of liverpool was to great, sorry souncess, but no club in the world has the pull of rangers, to a real rangers supporters ( rangers men ) !!!

0 0

Expat sorry but if you want the "ba" then a three million loan is not going to get you it, do you think shareholders are going to give up their shares because souness is an ok guy

Some shareholders will sell if they get the right offer, it just hasn't been made yet

JG

0 0

Maybe I'm just harking back to my own 'golden days' when I was younger and Rangers with Souness in charge were a force to be reckoned with. I'd go back there in a heartbeat to escape the current rubbish.

Yes, it's probably nonsense, but I'm a sentimental sod.

How can anyone blame us the fans for the short-Cummings of the board.

we are not obligated to buy season books we choose to, all this about falling attendances hurting the club bull tonks.

The Board have looked at the max attendance of the stadium and said that's how much we can spend. and then have the cheek to blame the fans for spending money.

Lastly all these posts stating fans like me are failing this club by not going to the matches, all I can say is worry about how to take your head out of the sand before offering advice.

Believable0 Unbelievable0

The problem is that the fans who are not showing up are hurting the club and are making it much more difficult than it needs to be but i don't for one second blame them. If they feel that's the only way to get there point across then fair enough. But it will be intresting to see how many season books we sell in the summer for the start of the season back in the top flight.

14 Nov 2014 09:09:43
Surely u must realise a company will set its budget compared to what it had on sales for the previous year/years & with this year suppose to be the final push to be back to the top table could've looked forward to increased attendance, has the board made mistakes of course they have but fans must take some blame for the fall in revenue with boycotts that have achieved nothing other than hurt the club.
r. f

0 0

Everyone is going on about boycotts a lot of the fans have just had enough of the way this club is being run how dare they blame the fans they have burned their way through the best part of £70 mill we haven't paid a transfer fee we have watched as Spivs have came and left with their pockets full still we read of Greens men meeting with the current regime they are as thick as thieves where did the money go look at the team full of free transfers wee don't even have a scouting system if and i'm sure we will get back to top flight where will the money come from to compete in top league come from how will the fans view the team struggling to be top four the shirt deal we have is a joke 49% of the profits go to Ashley and we have the production costs no wonder he wants to keep the lights on its a licence to print money so boycotts may be the word for a minority of fans but the majority have just had enough of these leaches sucking the blood out of us and may never return I think it will be a long long time before our club is back to anyway near the club we all knew and loved

0 0

R. F. for you to say the fans have to take some of the blame is disgraceful, the fans have stood by the club over the past years and the board have wasted £70M of the hard earned money put in by the fans. We have paid wages, contracts, bonuses etc way beyond our financial capabilities and continue to do so, that is why the club is in the state it finds itself in not because of the fans.

I keep hearing about boycotts? there is no boycott some fans simply are sick fed up seeing what is happening to our once great club and want change. The board will always blame the fans as this deflects the focus away from them but for fans to blame other fans is disgraceful.

0 0

14 Nov 2014 11:22:26
You said it greens men filled there pockets, ashley wasn't around when the 70 mil was blown, no matter what you think of ashley and I'm not saying he's the answer he maybe he may not be but u have to realise by staying away or boycotting whatever u want to call it won't stop him as with not enough monies coming in he will keep giving loans until he owns all the assets anyway. I've never supported the men wearing suits & ties when I go to Ibrox I support the eleven men wearing blue jerseys on the pitch.
r. f

0 0

The board really should have looked at 1 of the main reasons a couple of thousand fans did not renew, the football! pure and simple with me. I could not justify paying the increased prices to watch what Ally thinks is acceptable. I will be there tomorrow just because my mates are going but I am not paying up front to watch what an incompetent manager puts on the pitch.

0 0

14 Nov 2014 12:04:23
And that's the way to do it if u don't like the managers style of play, the teams playing good, c**p, or whatever u go to the match and vent your feelings.
r. f

0 0

14 Nov 2014 12:11:42
It's not about blame, I also said the board must look at what they have done, but if revenue is down due to attendance figures who do u look at the fans and I'm sorry but that's as plain as it gets.
r. f

0 0

@8 r. f. It's not about blame? Can I remind you of your earlier post

"the fans who stay away must accept there share of the blame. "

Make your mind up.

As Wullie stated, disgraceful comment and one of the most ridiculous I have read.
