With all due respect bears I keep hearing people say we need a manager that knows the Scottish game well a think that's rubbish mcinnes knows the Scottish game and can't conjure a win against the mhankies - what about Brenda how much did he know about the Scottish game? what we need is a manager that can bring confidence to the team - take players to there next level and change team tactics to win a game - now if I look at the betting odds for our next manager from what I've seen so far Murty till end of season with further option of a contract in summer? Everyone said let's give Pedro a transfer window- we'll why not give Murty the same? if it's not the best option maybe by the summer we will have got rid of some players and maybe a better calibre if manager will be available! Thoughts bears?

14 Nov 2017 19:43:31
pedro never got a transfer window

14 Nov 2017 19:55:10
That a joke? šŸ˜‚šŸ˜‚

17 Nov 2017 11:03:57
Think allong the lines that Bruno Alves came because of the manager, who could Murty lure? Iā€™m all for him taking over but and giving the youth a chance, it would stand in line with the new scouting network. If we want someone who has contacts we should be considering paying Kilmarnock off for Steve Clark

14 Nov 2017 17:06:53
Donā€™t you think itā€™s about time everyone stopped with this my source rubbish because itā€™s a load of rubbish that nearly no one ever gets right

14 Nov 2017 17:42:27
My source says your right cream bun

14 Nov 2017 16:00:58
Murty's recent interview is class, definitely recommend a read! (Training Ground Guru or Daily Record)

15 Nov 2017 00:54:14
First time poster

I have a gut feeling about Murty.

I think that he could turn out to be class.

He is a gamble, but who the hell ain't.

14 Nov 2017 11:09:39
Will we only find out if we put an Sell on Clause into the McKay deal when Forest sell him? Surely its something we would have included and not have settled for Ā£500k!

14 Nov 2017 12:51:27
this was honestly one of the most stupid movges I've seen in recent times as the boy is worth a lot lot more than we let him go for

14 Nov 2017 13:02:57
Hopefully we have a sell on clause but he had one year left and wouldnā€™t sign a deal so what could we do?

14 Nov 2017 13:19:19
Mackay should never have been sold especially for 500k.
The only winger in our squad is Candieas.
How many players have we let go for virtually nothing over the years and gone on to be a success elsewhere?

14 Nov 2017 15:21:55
If you're prepared to sell a player for half a mil then I can't see a very big sell on clause.

14 Nov 2017 15:31:40
should have let the rat rot in the reserves then booted him out, one decent game in five then shite

14 Nov 2017 17:15:51
He didn't want to play for us and no matter what you think of his performances in England he was rank rotten for us

14 Nov 2017 17:40:39
Spot on Gary he didn't want to stay

14 Nov 2017 19:15:06
Have to say I'd take Barrie over windass ever day of the week. But Barrie looked like his heart was not in it for a long time and was inconsistent still was a young lad sure he will mature in to a good player

14 Nov 2017 10:40:04
Just seen a piece from a famously poor tabloid saying Jim Craig was shocked at the state of Ibrox.
. After an hour had passed rolling about on the floor laughing, I tried to distance myself from the 60,000 seater cow shed built from 3rd grade steel and corrugated sheet metal picture I had in my head.
If this particular rag could produce comedy like this every day someone might buy it.
Pure gold!

14 Nov 2017 12:53:56
lets get as many old celtic players as possible to fill our pages with absalute drivel. #dailyrecordarmada

14 Nov 2017 13:22:57
I think it was only last year part of their roof blew off due to the high winds with Ibrox staying perfectly intact. when you pay less what you get

Michael O'neill managerial history

Brechin City
Shamrock Rovers
Northern Ireland

Next Rangers manager seriously?

Hes done well at N. Ireland granted he's got a good squad.

International football is completely different from club football.

Theres no proof of how he goes about his business in the transfer window bringing players in. Can he attract big players?

Again i'm ready for the verbal onslaught but i'm 100% correct on this one.

14 Nov 2017 10:28:11
Can he attract big players? Well to be fair to the guy would Derek McInnes or Alex McLeish or Graeme Murty. At the moment O'Neil undoubtedly has a higher profile and reputation than any of those names across Britain.

14 Nov 2017 11:01:44
Surely we've got to bring McInnes in before the Games against the Sheep!
What O'Neil has done with N. Ireland is impressive but don't fancy him for the Managers Job.

14 Nov 2017 11:38:46
Ok der-goalie let's look at some of the points you've made. Michael O'Neil has had a 'good squad' with Northen Ireland? Really? Take a look at the clubs most of the players in that squad have come from. Apart from one Southampton and two West Brom players the rest are from the English lower leagues or the lower reaches of the spfl. There are players from Linfield, Fleetwood, Burton Albion, Rochdale, Oldham, QPR, Charlton, St Johnstone, Hearts and Ross County not only regularly in the squad but regularly playing! Yet he's managed to get them to a European Champioship and the play offs to the World Cup where by all accounts they were the better team and should of qualified. What that tells me is that he's an excellent man manager and is able to take a group of average players and get them to compete at a level way above where they are normally at. Which I personally think is an extremely important feature of any manager, especially whoever it is that becomes our next manager seeing as we can not compete with Celtic financially or in terms of quality of players just now so we will need to be better organised as a team instead.
Next your point about attracting players. The fact that we now have a director of football and at last a decent scouting team in place suggests that the next manager will have a limited role in terms of player attraction. Yes he will probably still have a final input but the job of identifying and attracting new players will mainly fall to the scouting network and the director of football. The next manager will focus much more on putting the team on the park and being able to bring them together to get results where previously we have struggled, something that Michael O'Neil has shown he is very capable of with Northen Ireland. Personally out of all the 'candidates' suggested I feel he is the strongest option.

14 Nov 2017 12:14:34
I agree with you Ger 78 Michael O'Neill is a very strong candidate. To add to your points he may not be a"Rangers man" but he played over 200 games of his career in Scotland, picked quite a few Scottish based players for Northern Ireland so must have seen a fair bit of recent Scottish football knowledge and still lives in Scotland. He may be limited in club management experience but like with NI he over achieved with Shamrock Rovers making them the first LoI side ever to get to the Europa League group stage. Plus his current assistant, "Rangers man" Jimmy Nichol has said when he leaves NI he wants to go back into club management so that might give us the nod over Scotland. Depends who he's up against though -I'd pretty torn if it winds up between him and Gio (if he's even interested) given his history with us and his recent managerial success in Holland.

14 Nov 2017 12:15:19
Great points Ger78,totally agree with you on this and I would like to add that he sticks around a lot longer than most managers and motivates players and gets them working as a unit, in my opinion he would be a first class choice, Catholic or whatever, and if we happen to get Mciness I really feel it will all end in tears and regrets, I don't think he can handle the bigger games, it's ok beating eight teams in the SPL and winning games in the cups against diddy teams, his record against the manky mob and in Europe is terrible. But I suppose if some people on here want to enjoy finishing second then he is your man, sorry not for me by a country mile.

14 Nov 2017 12:47:29
Totally agree 100% with you guys, any manager is a risk and Michael Oā€™Neill doesnā€™t have the trophies on his CV (neither does McInnes. I think heā€™s a better option than McInnes, he is untested at European club level but for me that better than ā€œfailed at European club levelā€. If we canā€™t go and get a Gio van Bronckhorst or the like then we will have to see who does fall into the budget we have for transfers and wages etc.

14 Nov 2017 12:48:36
oneil has done a great job at northern ireland but managing a country is completly diffrent they all want to play for each other and bond as a team and is no disrupition
where at club level this is not always the case good internional manager club manager questionable
for me either gio or mccinnis should get the job

14 Nov 2017 13:01:50
O'neil has done a great job on the international side which is completely different from going into todays market and spending money to better a team.

he for me hasn't got the experience to be our manager.

mcinnes has proven he can make a team better and make players he has better players and has to be the man for the job.

we don't want managers to intice players we want players that would love to play for a massive club like the mighty glasgow rangers

14 Nov 2017 15:19:01
If he works well with poor players he should be a stand out with you guys lol.

14 Nov 2017 15:40:14
get in the mighty mcinnes for the mighty glasgow rangers never heard so much drivel in my puff, why so many people pushing for mcinnes is beyond belief they can't see as far as the end of their noses

14 Nov 2017 19:20:30
Look what your manager done with your poor players after he replaced big Ronny Rayman

14 Nov 2017 23:12:37
They wernt poor players mate they were under performing.
You add Moussa, an experienced KT, Sinclair, and a new player in Forrest and u have a good team.
Are your players under performing or have they just found their level because I can't see 1 player who is a stand out can you?
