Use our rumours form to send us rangers transfer rumours.

15 Jan 2017 23:57:18
I think it's fair to suggest after much assessment, over this year that the Rangers Management team need to build the team around Barrie McKay and perhaps Lee Wallace The rest have done an okay job in getting us where we are but we now need to think of building this team to compete for the league and also be a no bad force in European competitions again

I like the look of the two young lads Toral and Hyndman and I think they can do a decent job up here

These guys will not get a better opportunity to play for a club the size of Rangers and Toral will probably never be a regular at Arsenal so let's see what he can do here at Ibrox

16 Jan 2017 20:08:52
Build a team round barrie aye right you would be building yer team around a guy who has 3 to 4 great games a season then is bang average or poor in the rest of them

15 Jan 2017 21:17:35
A lot of negativity after today's result but we need to be realistic as this is a team that will be competing in the champions league next season and currently 2nd in the Bundesliga, which is probably on par with the The Premiership in England.

Hopefully we can attract some sponsorship from Red Bull such as advertising on shirts or as a feeder club for them to send players on loan.

The squad has players that need to be moved on, but we also need further investment whether it is from DK or another source.

15 Jan 2017 22:04:34
Copland1,

Yes that's true however the same old faults were on display for all to see very poor defending, poor passing and giving away possession to easily.

15 Jan 2017 22:39:53
I don't agree with every decision mw makes but I would like some fans to give guy a break. He is the least funded manager of rangers ever and surely every gers fan must admit that this is not a fair fight with Rodgers. When the guy can get real money in transfer market then we can really judge the man. We need investment simple as that and until that day comes we are playing for second.

15 Jan 2017 23:13:26
Celtic fan here boys. What the hell is going on at your club when you have Copland1 saying that he would be happy to be a feeder club for some German team. I knew things were bad but not this bad.

16 Jan 2017 08:41:51
Dafabet

Last season we had Ball, Zelalem, Oduwa and now we have Toral and Hyndman.

This will happen for the forseeable future no doubt regardless of what club they are loaned from as we need further investment.

16 Jan 2017 09:29:02
Jaws

His budget has been far greater than that of Aberdeen and Hearts yet the team is no better than either. An Aberdeen and Hearts team that has went backwards since last season

16 Jan 2017 10:23:15
The problem for me is that we still don't have a defensive midfield player and we haven't had one since Warburton arrived and the John Eustace saga ended abruptly with the player failing to sign 'for personal reasons'. Finding another defensive midfield player or holding midfield player should have been the priority and while Barton might be construed to have been the answer we all know what happened there and young Rossiter is permanently on the injury list! While the latter situation is unfortunate we simply cannot expect to win games against half decent opposition or better with what we have and right now, unless he is going to play one of the loanees in that position or by some miracle, Rossiter is fit then Warburton's priority should surely be to bring in a player for this role during January.

16 Jan 2017 10:26:43
Let's see what our results are like in the second half of the season against Aberdeen, Hearts and St Johnstone, as well as the other teams in this league. If budgets really make a difference then we should beat all these teams with goals to spare!

For me it isn't the budget it is how you deploy it and right now we have an awful lot of players that are seriously underperforming in budgetary terms or, more likely are just not good enough.

16 Jan 2017 10:56:39
The team is better than aberdeen and hearts! Have a look at the league table, and reserve your judgement on if we finish 2nd, until the end of the season!

16 Jan 2017 11:56:55
I can honestly say warbs was unlucky with how barton used us and rossiter was touted by a lot to be the next gerrard so he has been unlucky with that position.
and as for competing this year its more to do with celtic have drawn one game compared to a terrible start last year that's why Aberdeen and hearts look to have taken a step backwards and we have been the better team each time we have played them this season even the game that they beat us we where the better team.

I wouldn't as a rangers fan compare myself to their teams as we are much better have much better players and at the beginning of the season we have been underperforming and slowly getting better and a game agains celtic doesn't stop us from getting better and better this season.
id buy hayes and rooney off of Aberdeen and then you would see them finishing bout 5th or 6th

16 Jan 2017 14:13:08
Supercoop

How then can you say in the one sentence we are better than them and then say don't judge it till the end of the season? As for saying we are better than Aberdeen by the league table they are only 2 points behind with a game in hand so how does that make us better than them?

16 Jan 2017 20:09:37
hope warbs has another try at Diagouraga. could solve the defensive mid problem.

16 Jan 2017 20:53:57
Tom USA

do u know of any players within our budget to play DM?

16 Jan 2017 23:13:16
Copland 1, not sure how much he would cost but Srdjan Mijailovic, plays in Turkey, for one of the lesser top league sides. He is Serbian, age 23. He might be worth looking at.

Daniel Williams, American, I think he is at Reading, contract up in Summer of this year.

If young Rossiter is not going to be fit then both of these guys might be worth looking at and I am sure that there are others, possibly even coming to the end of their contracts.

17 Jan 2017 15:31:44
The league table at this moment in time says we're better than aberdeen and even further better than hearts! How can't you understand that? The league table doesn't lie mate! The other point you pick up on about judging at the end of the season, i'll try and explain and clear up for you! What i'm saying here is we are at this moment better than both aberdeen and hearts, as the league table suggests! Over and above that, at the end of the season when the true reflection and judgement rightfully comes, we will see if we're better than them both! I've no doubt at all that we'll finish 2nd! It doesn't matter if we're 2 points in front of the sheep or 22 points in front, at this very moment we're better than aberdeen as our league position suggests! Games in hand mean nothing until they're won! Its about points in the bag! God, i hope that clears it up for you!

15 Jan 2017 19:42:23
i did not realise that senderos got off the bench what wa point of that we would have been better taking lad signed from raith and givivg him a go same as everton today let's face it enderos is rank rotten and could not hold place with berwick rangers

15 Jan 2017 21:34:05
I watched him completely miss three simple looking passes in a row.

15 Jan 2017 21:53:30
Surely it would have been better to give the young lad that we got from Raith Rovers some game time instead of Senderos!

15 Jan 2017 20:23:13
There's a centre half playing with partick thistle, that i would love rangers to sign, liam lindsay! He's been superb for thistle and looks a terrific prospect!

16 Jan 2017 00:27:02
I've liked the look of the big Greek boy fae Hamilton anytime I've saw him aswell there's certainly better defenders who can actually defend out there than we have at the moment

15 Jan 2017 19:06:02
With the new formation we have been playing i. e. 3 at the back Can anyone tell me who plays lwb? Is it McKay our most creative player who can't defend?

15 Jan 2017 19:33:08
sure is as waldo been injured, warbs sets up so that mckay still plays high up. kind of like let them worry about you

15 Jan 2017 19:35:33
Think it was mate. Mckay played lwb against celtic I'm sure. He should be further up behind the striker.

16 Jan 2017 00:29:33
Who could have disagreed wae that? Wasted at wing back got to be higher up the park

16 Jan 2017 09:00:36
Wallace has played left back last 3 games it's been a 4 as usual just he doesn't drift forward meaning baz has to come deeper for the ball still the same formation

16 Jan 2017 12:05:03
not that I've saw dean! Wallace has been injured and a 3 at the back has been adopted.

we have been forced to make McKay a wingback.

me personally I think he can do better in a no 10 position and have forrester out on the left

16 Jan 2017 12:06:13
forrester for me is greedy but should be given more game time so he doesn't feel the need to score to keep his position.

I would have my most talented out on that park and forrester has a great touch and can carry the ball

17 Jan 2017 14:06:32
Honestly james stirling, harry forrester's decision making at times is really poor! He does look good at times but taking the club forward i truly don't think he's consistently rangers first team material mate!

15 Jan 2017 18:43:35
now that we play with 3 center backs would it not have been a good time to try out the big ginger boy we got off raith? we could have had him in beside hill to help with his experience talk him through it etc. sureley the big ginger one car run a bit faster than big clint, ponderos, danny or that other one?

15 Jan 2017 18:15:34
Terrence Boyd on loan anyone?

15 Jan 2017 19:12:02
Going to Huddersfield

15 Jan 2017 17:33:11
today's performance and team selection where no surprise half these players do not deserve to wear a rangers shirt with this beeing a friendly this was a chance to try diffrent tactics and give some youngsters a chance in the team instead we are stuck with same old tactics and players at least youngsters would fight for the team unlike some of players at the club seems pointless going all way to Germany to do the same old over and over again am sure we could have stayed at home and got a friendly organised hear to do this who we mite have been competive with and scored some goals to grow confidence not crush it more by getting thumped by 4 goals our players do not seem to buy into this formation this season and our centre back are to slow two play three at the back it is Warburton who brought all these players to rangers and constantly plays them even tho they not good eneogh bout time he woke up keeps saying we will learn from it all the time but same problems persist week in week out and not learning

15 Jan 2017 18:25:14
I'm not saying I'm happy with how it's going etc but this was not your normal preseason friendly for bleeding youngsters and trying new stuff. This was about getting back into match fitness and mentality after a break.
We needed our first team back together.

15 Jan 2017 18:58:33
we could have quite easily done this at home at would have been more benificial to arrange a game with our youth team and see if some these youth player are good enough my money would be on a few of the youths outshine the first team players plus if we are not match fit half way threw a season then we are in big trouble these players have been playing week in week out so they probly would welcome the rest

15 Jan 2017 19:01:22
The only hope for me is that there was more to this Red Bull Leipzig friendly than just football and we will get some sponsorship so that we can bring in some decent quality players. Even in a friendly when we are maligning substitutes the same carp players stay on the park!

15 Jan 2017 20:28:23
Exactly look at bigger picture getting our name out their showing how big our support is. hopefully right people were watching. need rebuilding ain't going too happen quick

15 Jan 2017 17:58:59
It was a friendly we played the team sitting second in there league.

15 Jan 2017 17:23:12
Gary75 spot on lad, bang on the button. the negativity is relentless on here

15 Jan 2017 17:34:24
Unfortunately the team and the manager invite the negativity with the performances. I think most Rangers fans that post on here give an honest assessment of where the team are and on the players. It would be great to be positive but there hasn't been much to be positive about

15 Jan 2017 18:23:21
We're nearer to Partick Thistle in the SPFL than we are to Celtic and you don't see why fans are being negative?

Seriously, do you find that stat acceptible?

15 Jan 2017 18:56:50
Naz. Did you honestly think we would compete with them this year. With the differences in budgets. If you did you are deluded

15 Jan 2017 19:04:49
The 2 new lads looked useful today. Thought Torel scored a good goal and Hyndman looked to have a killer pass in him. Would like to see Dodoo playing, Waggy tries hard and will be an important player on second half of season but lacks quality.

15 Jan 2017 19:27:11
Swany9

Warburton has had a far greater war chest than McInnes at Aberdeen yet we are no better than they are. He has signed around 22 players since becoming manager yet we don't seem to be improving and I don't see anything being built. Yeah we don't have the money Celtic do but to be 19 points behind having played a game more is unacceptable. The team concedes to easily, lacks creativity and doesn't score enough goals. It's a shambles and the manager has to shoulder the responsibility for this

15 Jan 2017 19:49:13
Swany9 No I said on here I thought we would finish second. Which is still the case.

I'll assume that you don't know that our budget is percentage wise far nearer to Celtic's budget than Partick's so I'll ask again, do you think having a points total nearer to Partick than Celtic is acceptable?

15 Jan 2017 20:37:06
Second is our objective this year. Looking at budgets to work out how far in front or behind another team is for championship manager.

15 Jan 2017 20:38:56
Stewie 25. You don't see a difference in team since warbuton took over? 🙈

15 Jan 2017 21:13:30
Mcinness has took abefeeen backwards the past 2 year

15 Jan 2017 21:16:15
The frustration for me is with the players left on the park when substitutions were being made, players not in Leipzig and why not, and players used / not used as substitutes.

I watched Everton today and they had two youth players in their team and another youngster on the bench. They looked the part in a 4.0 victory over Manchester City.

I watched Rangers and saw one or two encouraging signs but again I was bemused by Warburton's selection / substitutions. We have a quality young player in McKay, albeit that he is not a wing back, however when Wallace is fit we will hopefully see him restored to the side with McKay then deployed as a forward. With two quality acquisitions, Toral and Hyndman why did we not play both of them from the start or at least, in the second half play Hyndman in the Holding Midfield role since that is a position where we are struggling and why was Senderos brought on when it would have been an ideal opportunity to see how the young lad from Raith Rovers would perform alongside Hill.

As for the players not included what is the situation with Rossiter and with Wallace and their respective injuries. I think it is about time we had an honest update, especially on Rossiter!

15 Jan 2017 22:07:58
swany9

What I see is a team who concedes too many, scores too few and has midfielders who don't create. Tell me what do you see?

15 Jan 2017 22:17:33
Swany9

So budgets having nothing to do with it then?

16 Jan 2017 00:18:55
Stewie25, if you can't see a difference between warberton team and mccoists then you need a check mate cause it's night and day, not perfect yet but he gratful for what the man has done to completely re shape the squad in 1 and a half years

16 Jan 2017 07:20:14
Swany9, why bring up budgets only to say budgets don't matter when you're point is proven flawed by politely reminding you that we have the largest budget except Celtic?

16 Jan 2017 09:33:43
GM_rfc72

What's McCoists team got to do with it? He left 2 years ago. I'm talking about how I don't think Warburton's team has improved in the 18 months he has been in charge. We still concede too many don't score enough and don't create enough. We are poor in possession and give the ball away too easily.

Just look at the amount of goals scored and conceded in the league it's unacceptable.

16 Jan 2017 10:16:07
Just because we were in a bad place 2 years ago doesn't mean we have to accept the slight improvement on the park now. Yes, off field massive improvement in the club (thank god) but on the park its still guff, same old tactics, same old mistakes, same undroppable players that start.

16 Jan 2017 23:08:16
yes naz having that points difference you are talking about is poor but its our first time back up here and we started a lot poorer than we have been lately. celtic are too good just now I hate to say it but they are they have real quality in their side with the likes of sinclaire dembelle and that wee Patrick Roberts its frightening!

yes we all thought we would be closer to celtic and if it where the celtic of last year we would be a lot lot closer but its not and we are not we have to accept that or just be pissed off at the wrong people.

warbs isn't the guy and king isn't the guy to be annoyed at its Ashley that has our hands tied behind our back.

15 Jan 2017 17:10:12
Well that's the first time i can truthfully say k miller looked his age tavernier was shocking the onlyy positives u can take are we have 2 not bad goalies and b mackay was best of the rest

15 Jan 2017 17:15:57
How long until warbs realises hodson is twice the player tav is?

15 Jan 2017 19:02:32
He won't, Tav and Halliday are undroppable!

15 Jan 2017 19:02:57
Tavernier was our best player what game did you watch? Only man willing to get on ball and get stuck in about it.

15 Jan 2017 19:48:50
Sorry Cee - if you can't see that Tav is an absolute bomb scare of a player! He thinks he's a superstar but he can't defend, can't pass and is out of position so often, he's become a liability. He was very useful in the Championship but has been found wanting in the step up to the SPL.

15 Jan 2017 20:03:44
You're having a laugh cee?

15 Jan 2017 16:31:11
Defence again a shambles but Warbs thinks it's fine omg

15 Jan 2017 16:01:48
Is MOH our Timo Werner? I wish!

Well taken apart today by a very good team. Wouldn't mind some of those Red Bull millions at Ibrox. Wouldn't care what they called us, as we would always be Rangers to the fans. We desperately need investment of this type as Dave ain't going to take us to the next level.

15 Jan 2017 19:20:58
But still nobody is giving DK any credit? What if Red Bull are interested in investing or sponsoring our team?

Who would be behind that piece of business. Walter Smith, Souness, Mike Ashley?

Might be more likely to suggest that DK and our board are working away quietly in the background trying to attract the best possible deals for the club in. The current circumstances?

Of course not, DK is not interested in Rangers according to the supposed supporters peddling negativity on here

15 Jan 2017 21:21:12
You can be a Rangers supporter without being a fan of King so get away from this 'Supposed' supporters malarkey.

Most of us are hurting big time because we don't like the fact that we are so far behind Celtic and we are frustrated that King did a lot of mouthing off and some of the players that masquerade in Rangers strips are simply not fit to wear the jersey.

Lets wait and see what if anything materialises, then it will be time to give credit where credit is due!

15 Jan 2017 22:18:07
BR65. I didn't say I wasn't a fan of Dave's, all I said was he ain't going to take us to the next level. To do that we need serious investment, which is something Dave doesn't have I'm afraid. Red Bull however, does.

15 Jan 2017 16:38:51
Young players would fight for team some of this team are happy too just pick pay packets up. totally don't understand warburton. .

15 Jan 2017 16:36:50
First off this was a friendly designed to give the first team a run out not the youth, this team are at the top end of a top league and they would hump anyone from our league and most leagues in Europe we may have lost but there was some alright things in this game especially in the first half, Wilson seems to get a lot of undeserved rubbish on here I like him I think him and keirnan in a back three with hill will come on leaps and bounds.

As for the negativity that comes from so called fans on here is out of order what was it that got you into following this club was it winning in the one horse era of the late 80's and most of the 90's was it the feeling of belonging spouting bile from the stands as part of a mob, do you like, ever play football, do you understand football, do you understand where we have been and where we are now, do you like this club?

Me and plenty others love it, can't stop thinking about it, yes I want us back to where we were but realise that takes time, I love rangers and no matter what I will support them and that means getting behind them accepting what we have, where we are and dealing with that if you don't feel that way I suggest you get a club, sport or activity you do like because listening to all the moaning on here is making this site unbearable.

I think I would sooner have all the wild arsed rumours any day over negativity. Has no one seen Messi at a petrol station or bonnuci in a chippy. Rangers till I die remember that!

15 Jan 2017 16:47:13
Well said sir.

15 Jan 2017 17:04:26
Gary75

People have a right to express their opinions and if you don't like it tough. It doesn't mean they are any less of a fan than you or don't have valid points

15 Jan 2017 17:03:33
Gary75, load of pish mate. Most fans can see that the likes of tav, kiernan, halliday, wilson etc should be nowhere near the team. Just because most of us see things without the blue tint specs doesn't make us less supporters than you.

15 Jan 2017 17:21:20
I first saw Rangers in 1958. It was a family thing as my great grandfather first saw them play at Kinning Park. I don't spout bile from the stands. I love football, played football, coached football (I won't boast about where), I understand football, I have written extensively about football. I have loved Rangers all my life, but I am not blind or stupid and, even though some Scottish political organisations would put a halt to it, I still have freedom of speech. The healthiest form of support comes from constructive criticism and, Mr gary75, your post is an insult to many, many thousands like me.

15 Jan 2017 18:20:42
Well said wee-ecky.

Some folk on here have called Tav the Blue Cafu, claimed that Wilson, Holt and Halliday should all be in the Scotland team and much more over optimistic nonsense and yet think it's somehow wrong to say anything negative about our players - who are obviously not remotely of the standard required to challenge Celtic let alone do anything in Europe.

15 Jan 2017 19:03:48
Wilson should be in the Scotland team though.

15 Jan 2017 19:30:24
Naz

Couldn't agree more so many people on here thinking that once we qualify for Europe we will get better players in and somehow improve. That team won't get out of the qualifiers and will make no money from Europe. Warburton has had a far bigger budget than Aberdeen or Hearts but we aren't any better than they are

15 Jan 2017 16:22:39
Well that was sore to watch! Were we even on the pitch? Lol i did expect that to be fair but surely we could have given more! And it also has me thinking, with this game with motherwell coming up, i hope the confidence hasn't been skelped, we could perform badly on saturday, i hope not but these things can happen

15 Jan 2017 16:15:49
This is embarassing - we are so short in quality all over the park.

You can change the formation all you want but if you don't have the players!

15 Jan 2017 16:22:37
One thing's for sure. Holliday is terrible.

15 Jan 2017 16:24:51
The manager is clueless and this score isn't a surprise

15 Jan 2017 16:36:06
Its a friendly vs a top European side, get over it!

15 Jan 2017 16:30:47
Get real RfcChris! The gulf in class is obviously there to see! Remember what RB leipzig have spent and where they currently are in german football! What were you expecting, rangers to play leipzig off the park and win handsomely? RB leipzig would beat any club in scotland with the undoubted quality in their ranks! Honestly, see some of our supporters!

15 Jan 2017 17:05:56
I'm not surprised by that scoreline . The team that we played today are years in front of us. they're on a different planet so I don't get that some of our fans our shocked at result.

15 Jan 2017 17:06:27
It doesn't matter who you are playing when you constantly give up possession and can't do the basics. However some people on here seem to think it's acceptable.

15 Jan 2017 17:31:13
Jaws

I don't think anyone is shocked by the result it's more that the team keep making the same errors no matter who we are playing. We have players who can't do the basics and are short of quality throughout the park. Yeah they are a top class team however we still make the same mistakes week in week out and certain players never seem to get dropped

15 Jan 2017 17:22:29
The problem is warbs plays his favourites and the same tactics, too predictable. Its the same old story with the same old ending. He does nothing to change it. Unbelievable the amount of fans will to accept this.

15 Jan 2017 17:31:29
Naw Stewie25,some of us understand where we currently are! Simple as that! The spending power between RB leipzig and rangers is night and day and i'm not being funny or pigheaded here, when i say i honestly can't fathom why some of our supporters can't grasp what i'm saying here!

I think some would be better watching and taking up another sport because you are certainly NOT understanding football here! See this friendly for what it was!

15 Jan 2017 23:40:29
Super cooper, I don't think its a case of not fathoming what you are saying or where we are. Most of the support expected to lose today but what I can't understand is why give Senderos a run out when the young lad that we signed from Raith Rovers could have had game time alongside Hill.

The other major frustration is that Warburton continuously fields players that are consistently poor and it does't matter how poor they are they are still in the team the following week!

Everyone wants Warburton to succeed, not all of us trust King but that is just a case of opinions however poor defending and a total lack of a Holding midfield player / defensive midfield player is factual!

15 Jan 2017 16:15:44
Defence getting pelters rightly so, but where's the midfield? Also can't string a pass 2gether upfront.

15 Jan 2017 23:45:55
I feel sorry for wee barrie mckay he works so hard and doesn't reap the rewards he's due. Our midfielders are far to lightweight Holt is trying his best but simply not strong enough and for Halliday what an appropriate name he looks like he's on holiday i'm sorry for being so harsh but its only my opinion lads.

We should sell them and strengthen our defense that is clearly one of our major weakness and everybody can see it apart from Mark Warburton.

If we are considering any more loans it should only be with an option to buy as i don't see why we should basically rent players and if they turn out to be good we have to give them straight back i'm only hoping that when and if we finish second then it would be a no brainer that Mr king must put some of his money where his mouth is to strengthen the team if not then he clearly isn't the man to take rangers forward just my opinion lads

15 Jan 2017 16:14:10
Our defence is shocking and all over the place again only a friendly a know but been the same all season senderos looks like he has wooden legs give bates a run instead we must strengthen the back four and get a better formation sorted out urgently

15 Jan 2017 16:09:05
Once again we put the same players on after we go several goals down. What are we actually learning here, how to get beat?

These players must be wandering what the hell they are doing!

NOTHING LEARNED! NOTHING!

All we need is for us to score and I was bang on for my prediction. It going to happen!

15 Jan 2017 16:00:37
Every club seem to take young players through we do then send them out then release them why! Then we have too watch haliday holt

Why does everybody keep getting on hallidays back yes he is not good enough
But Holt is the one player who gets away scot free the lad is utterly useless you cannot play them both as our midfield is powder and just crumbles

15 Jan 2017 16:22:12
Playing in a three doesn't help him, but he is poor might get on better in a 442 formation.

15 Jan 2017 16:31:53
People keep getting on Halliday's back because he is a waste of a jersey and the only person that doesn't seem to see it is Warburton! Holt has been dropped on occasions but Halliday appears to be beyond that! I don't particularly rate Holt but he is young enough to learn. Halliday seems to think he is better than he is!

15 Jan 2017 15:55:49
I hope we learn from this!

I have had morning rolls that haven't been cut open as easily as our defence.

15 Jan 2017 15:37:02
Why warburton not giving some young players a run out see how things would turn out he's hell bent in not dropping same players who are guity every week

15 Jan 2017 15:28:16
Hate the new formation. Our defenders aren't good enough to play three at the back.

We are embarrassing. Danny Wilson for the first goal wow. If I was him I would chuck it.

Holt loses position in there half for the second.

Again very embarrassing.

15 Jan 2017 15:19:30
Same old rubbish in Germany same old routine nothing changes

15 Jan 2017 15:28:03
The missus does less moaning than some folk on here give a feckin asprin a headache

15 Jan 2017 15:29:31
Just watched man city if that's what money buys you we would be as well staying skint. they're a bad lot.

15 Jan 2017 15:39:50
Ally72, it's a friendly, they'll be changes made. What a bunch of old moaners

15 Jan 2017 15:40:10
C'mon Jaws Man City are NOT a bad lot, they are currently playing badly!

15 Jan 2017 15:52:21
Everton's youth policy is exceptional, shame that we haven't had a Youth Policy for years thanks to McCoist and McDowall! Still, we are knowing seeing where our problems lie, crap defenders and a crap so called Holding midfield player! When the best you have are guys like Halliday and Holt what hope is there!

15 Jan 2017 16:05:01
I actually think Holt is a decent wee player, young with potential. he's surrounded by numpties!

McCoist and McDowell have nothing to do with the youth decline. Our circumstances have seen to that. Even when our training park was put together under Advocaat it failed to produce talent for a long time!

We've had a few out of that but nowhere near what should be coming!

15 Jan 2017 13:53:55
Same old line up I see for the German game.

Only change for Toral, no Dodoo in the squad at all. Hodson on the bench! I just don't understand this man Warbs at all!

I would have expected some more changes than this.

15 Jan 2017 14:21:22
I thought you would know by know that Tavernier and Halliday are undroppable in Warburton's eyes!

15 Jan 2017 14:35:18
I know mate its ridiculous. The 2 weakest links in the squad by a mile!

15 Jan 2017 14:40:38
Drop Halliday and play who?

15 Jan 2017 15:05:51
Play hyndman instead of Hallyday!

15 Jan 2017 15:36:14
The 2 new boys for a start Cee! Perhaps Crooks could have played. oh wait we got rid of him! We have no midfield and we get rid of one!

15 Jan 2017 15:29:41
Right TOMUSA you've made your point about Halliday change the record man.

15 Jan 2017 16:17:57
Jayc unfortunately tomusa is correct . Halliday should be paying in like us to watch the Rangers.

15 Jan 2017 13:22:21
Would the so called fans in Germany please behave. We seem to have more than our fair share of idiots.

15 Jan 2017 14:05:41
Why what have they done? If it's the 10 german bombers song your talking about I've heard lots of fans singin it including northern ireland fans in France last summer and they were praised for there conduct! Funny when it's rangers fans there's fake uproar. It's strange how some people go out of there way to be offended by rangers fans.

15 Jan 2017 14:21:56
Some can't help themselves. Couple of videos about with fans singing about sexual fantasies with the leader of some religion. Manchester airport and aboard a plane while safety brief was on. Embarrassing, I would say.

15 Jan 2017 14:58:02
Why is it embarrasing because they are having a good time and do u think rangers fans are the only ones who sing on a plane on the way to a football match some folk need to get a grip honestly moan about everthing prob same ones who get offended if someone swears in a pub lol

15 Jan 2017 15:20:33
Singing is fine, I think it is what is being sung is the problem.

The embarrassing thing is seeing a giant flag that says Rangers ICF?

As for the game, we have been caught out twice now with pace, Wilson was is lucky not to clear the first and couldn't keep up with Burke for the second.

15 Jan 2017 09:41:40
Celtic fans on this page will be quaking in their boots with the news Warburton wants to give new contracts to Hill and Miller. They might be turning 39 and 38 this year but he says they're first on the training pitch and last off and age is no barrier.

I myself don't see these contract extensions as an example of our club's lofty ambitions though and the fact that they're 2 of our best players says more about how poor our squad is than how good they are.

15 Jan 2017 10:09:22
totaly agree kfraser. hill is our best defender but we should be looking for younger better than clint. warbs always said he likes hungry young players, time he got some

15 Jan 2017 10:17:31
Building for the future by utilising experienced pro's to help the younger players develop.

When the old gits still play as well as Miller and Hill I can't really see how there can be a negative slant.

15 Jan 2017 10:23:29
first post on slagging off the team, if you don't have anything productive to say why bother, where are the lofty ambitions when we don't have any money to spend and won't have for quite some time, hill and miller are two good professionals who deserve their extra time because we do need them

15 Jan 2017 11:08:59
Not necessarily, many older players can be the stars in teams even better ones than ours.

15 Jan 2017 11:12:49
I would think the natural progression for both players is to become part of our coaching staff when they hang up there boots - to be fair to kenny he loves a goal against celtic and hill is an excellent communicator/ organiser of the back line just like sir davie weir he could play until he's 40

15 Jan 2017 11:22:35
It's quite simple. If they are 2 of the best performers then give them another year. No brained really!

15 Jan 2017 12:07:31
I must admit I thought Hill was likely past it and a rotten signing.

Wrong. Wrong. Wrong. Like others I reckon he's our best defender and deserves a new contract.

Saying that I was spot on about Barton and Senderos. Stupid signings.

15 Jan 2017 12:50:33
Sadly as things stand right now they are, whether we like it or not, two of our best players.

We brought in players to secure us promotion to the Premier League but the majority of these players are simply not good enough to win us the league. Yes we were unlucky with injuries to potential key players and the Barton scenario did not work. (For me this was a similar issue to Ferguson and LeGuen, Barton, like Ferguson was a winner, he clearly did not like the drubbing we got from Celtic. Warburton sided with Halliday and I guess we will never know the full story) .

We have subsequently failed to move up to the next level and we are probably half a team short of being serious challengers for this league.

We can go all the way back to the appointment of McCoist which was in reality a total and utter disaster. We do not have one young player over the age of 16 that was signed during his time in charge. He got rid of youngsters and brought in the biggest bunch of excuses for football players ever signed by Rangers with perhaps, Wallace the only decent quality signing!

Personally I believe that King is all talk and little action. He is well behind the three bears in his investment in the club and I doubt that we will ever see real investment from him and once we are rid of Ashley I suspect that we will see new investors with significantly more ambition and hopefully none of the 'favouritism' in some players that has blighted the club!

In the interim we need to hope that Warburton continues to bring in quality loanees and that McParland proves his worth by bringing in some quality players. Age means nothing, it is quality that matters and that is what we need for next season!

15 Jan 2017 13:20:31
Ffs. If that's rangers ambitions for next season, then seven will be easy.

I could understand if they were being given extensions as part of their applications for coaching badges, but to promote them as part of the back bone of rangers 2017/ 18 is a great joke.

If you keep this up, miller will be able to use his bus pass to get free travel to matches and training sessions.

15 Jan 2017 13:45:38
Ibra 35
Totti 39
Klose 37
Pirlo 36
Luca Toni 38
Drogba 37
Di Natale 38

The list goes on. Age has nothing to do with deserving a contract. At this moment in time both the players you have mentioned are playing good football. Hill is arguably our best defender! I think Weir was 38/ 39 with us! They are essential behind the scenes also no doubt.

another year for each for me is not a problem. I hope next year we do move on and they have to play less however.

15 Jan 2017 13:47:46
Some of the negative comments on this site are so over the top I sometimes wonder if there Rangers fans. Remember where were this time two years ago

15 Jan 2017 14:32:51
Have just been informed rangers to make three keynote signings.

John greig 74.
Derek parlane 64.
Derek Johnstone 63.

All players who even at their age, would do a better job than the current rangers misfits.
