The Rangers surprise cake is sheer class for originality. I know a few mates that would appreciate the total cheek of the baker. Credit where credit is due.

15 Mar 2016 23:00:53
I saw that on D. record website, funny. I don't go on to often but have you ever seen the comments some folk make? Two guys offering to meet each other for a fight? Are things really that bad for some people?!

The cake is class though.

16 Mar 2016 08:11:56
Must admit i had a chuckle when i seen it though its my birthday today and that's my mrs sense of humour so i wouldn't be surprised if i got itπŸ˜‚πŸ˜‚πŸ˜‚πŸ˜‚πŸ˜‚πŸ˜‚πŸŽ‚πŸŽ‚πŸŽ‚πŸŽ‚.

15 Mar 2016 12:37:40
Jackson Irvine should be someone we look at. very strong player who can control a game at his best good in every department.

KT.

15 Mar 2016 20:09:42
Isn't he a Celtic reject?

15 Mar 2016 21:53:01
So is Kenny Miller.

16 Mar 2016 08:14:36
The amount of youngsters that both the old firm have let go must be massive maybe us not so much now but just look at hemmings. Etc.

16 Mar 2016 09:03:16
Thepoetpatient

You might think Miller was a Celtic reject but I seem to remember him scoring quite a few times against Celtic during his second spell with the club. Will never forget the Celtic fans and their banners slagging Miller off in one game at Celtic park however these banners mysteriously disappeared as Kenny scored 2 in an easy victory.

16 Mar 2016 11:20:54
Buffo- all well and good but has zero to do with my point. Furthermore, I didn't say he didn't do well for you.

16 Mar 2016 12:28:57
Was he also a Rangers reject when he joined you's as well?

16 Mar 2016 14:11:39
Recbob-

In the context of this thread, absolutely.

16 Mar 2016 02:16:14
Trust Warbs totally just hope he has people watching him

I could not care less if he played for them as we all remember with the Johnston Affair it was all the more enjoyable when their former favourite son scored in final minute to beat them 1-0 and many more great goals he scored he was a professional plus I got my first season ticket after years on waiting list with the morons burning the season books after the era of signing catholics ended.

Jackson Irvine is the real deal I think and I just hope we get him before them

KT.

16 Mar 2016 17:24:20
I was at the game where Johnston scored in the last minute. I've never before or since heard a racket like it when the ball hit the net! Unbelievable scenes.

16 Mar 2016 21:44:13
TPP

Can you please define what you think a Celtic or Rangers reject actually is?

16 Mar 2016 23:36:49
A player whom Celtic or Rangers move on; either against the players wishes, or to appease a player who is no longer first choice.

17 Mar 2016 08:20:10
TPP

Well by your definition then Gazza was a Rangers reject then.

17 Mar 2016 11:02:06
Thepoeticpatient

By your definition then Jimmy Johnstone was also a Celtic reject then having been given a free transfer by the club.

17 Mar 2016 11:48:56
You're misunderstanding my point.

I'm suggesting players that are moved on -- despite their unwillingness -- to other clubs, are (by any other clubs standard) am rejects. I honestly don't know the individual circumstances of the players you mentioned, especially not JJ, but even using your Gazza example - did Rangers want to keep him? Or where you trying to ship him out?

For instance, Van Djik wasn't a reject - we couldn't hold on to him. We punted Kenny Miller (as did you twice) , so yes we signed a Rangers reject. And yes you signed a Celtic reject. In fact you've signed a Rangers-Celtic-Rangers reject.

Kilmarnock signed Kris Boyd. Record breaking goal scorer for Rangers - but they signed a Rangers reject nonetheless.

To be clear this has nothing to do with ability -- when Utd sign Di Maria, he was a Madrid reject.

17 Mar 2016 11:57:15
Biffo,

A caveat I'll add to that re JJ and PG -- although in truth I don't know if it strictly applies to them -- is that if the club in question tries to keep the player, whether that be in a coaching capacity or lower money etc, shorter deal because of age etc, but the player refuses (for whatever reason) then I don't think they could be considered rejects. They key point would be that they rejected the club in that instance.

The other thing to say is, the term reject is really in the eye of the fans. Mainly, but not strictly, in the incoming fans.

If I found out that, Messi for example, was freed by Barcelona and was signing for us I'd be ecstatic. I, and the overwhelming mAjority of Celtic fans wouldn't see him as a Barcelona reject (or wouldn't care) but fans of opposition teams (including barca) could call him such.

15 Mar 2016 01:49:38
Rangers are ironically the only team able to bring home a "treble" of sorts now after usual Hibs bottle crash.

It would be brilliant were that to happen but to be honest us winning the title as early as possible is the only thing that is important so we can plan for summer signings and have a settled squad ready for 2017/ 7 season and our 55th title.

Scottish Cup and Petrofac will be great bonuses if they both happen

KT.

15 Mar 2016 17:24:54
Not sure u can say the Petrofac cup win would be a bonus as we are playing a team from a lower league with a fraction of the resources. I expect us to win the league and the Petrofac cup the Scottish cup would be a massive bonus.

16 Mar 2016 02:17:44
I get your point we should win Petrofac I was more thinking on the treble as the bonus part add to fact beating them would be the end of 4 years hell for all Bears.

KT.

16 Mar 2016 14:47:58
Biffo, you could say the same about Celtic in the league, league cup and Scottish cup.

16 Mar 2016 16:31:08
You could but you would be wrong as ross county are in the spl .

16 Mar 2016 21:41:41
Iwdawson

Not interested in what they do on this site to talk about Rangers.

15 Mar 2016 16:32:23
See Mike Ashley is to be quizzed by mp, s how he treated sports direct staff crack on and take him down . the future is bright the future is red white and blue onwords and upwards.

15 Mar 2016 17:20:06
shares have tumbled also, would it not be wonderful if newcastle did as well.

15 Mar 2016 20:14:55
On the one hand it would be great to watch them go down because of that man however he is just as unpopular with the Newcastle support as he is with us and it would be a pity to see a club with such a great support go down.

16 Mar 2016 08:55:28
I'm 100% with you on this one biffo316!I despise mike ashley but have all the time in the world for my favourite english club newcastle utd and the geordie fans, they are a brilliant football club with the best, most loyal fans in england bar none, it's not the club or the toon army's fault that they are left with this money making greedy monster who owns their special football club, they want rid of ashley just like we do so I do hope nufc stay up for the sake of the club and its amazing supporters, only glasgow rangers have better supporters than newcastle utd imo!

{Ed001's Note - the most loyal fans? Why is it before Keegan came in they were only taking a couple of hundred to away games and played in an empty stadium? I know a few genuine loyal Newcastle fans and a few of their ex-players that can tell you that the fans were not that loyal during the tough times. They are just fans like any other.}

16 Mar 2016 10:07:03
That's your opinion ed which your entitled to but I also am very friendly with a dozen nufc season ticket holders that have been up pretty regularly at hospitality at ibrox over a good few years now and in my experience they are the most loyal supporters in england who do genuinely back there team through thick and thin and haven't won anything for many, many years now which makes their loyalty to their club all the more remarkable just like us coming back to the big time, over the history of a football club you are always going to have spells when fans will dwindle but in general terms the toon stick by their club!

{Ed001's Note - how is it an opinion that their gates were appalling and most older Newcastle fans still grumble about the glory seekers? Please don't argue about something you clearly know nothing about. It is fact that their 'loyal' fans are just as fickle as any other unless things are going their way. It is not an opinion, they have proved it. I bet none of them will ever admit it though, they always claim to have been there at those games.}

16 Mar 2016 12:47:37
Hope newcastle get relegated, ashley will have to sell his shares in us or newcastle. I think he will sell the shares he has in us as he could earn a lot more with newcastle in the prem, obv he would have to get them promoted again. Think his preference has been proved with benitez on 3mil bonus to keep them up. Nothing against newcastle or their fans but I will be cheering on sunderland on sunday for the reasons I have mentioned.

15 Mar 2016 16:16:01

Please come back yah Ginger Fud.

15 Mar 2016 19:46:10
who cares he failed down south and if he come back to celtic he going to have less control and less money.

15 Mar 2016 13:53:10
Don't do it a lot but just off celtic page and they are playing down our wonderful management team, they are bricking it, hopefully runs big daftie Ronnie out of town then hopefully if the little ginger one returns, showed his true colours by jumping from a sinking ship, he says he left, me thinks he was asked to leave. Follow Follow from Western Australia, also if any bears on here from WA there is an old firm game next week at Morley Windmills ground raising money for a wee scottish kid with illness don't know full details but good crowd expected probably more than turn up at pork heid just now lol will try and find out more, sure there are a few blue noses on here, take care and guys enjoy the next few weeks coming up so so jealous would love to be home just now.

15 Mar 2016 15:14:51
I'm here now blue. Let me know the details please.

15 Mar 2016 15:14:51
I'm here now blue. Let me know the details please.

15 Mar 2016 15:17:44
You can't really judge Warburton at the minute because he has not won anything. Even when he wins the Championship this season, you can't really tell how good he is because it is hardly an accomplishment winning the second tier of Scottish football, while having the second biggest playing budget in Scotland.

Obviously, if he beats Celtic in the cup that will help his reputation but we won't be able to judge him properly until next season, when we are playing in the top flight against stronger teams.

Don't get me wrong I like Warburton and he has been a breath of fresh air after enduring the climb back up the leagues under the guidance of McCoist.

15 Mar 2016 15:18:06
If he was asked to leave, how could he have jumped from a sinking ship?

15 Mar 2016 15:54:25
TPP has a point there. either he abandoned ship or he was asked to leave. However, we can judge Warburton, he done very well with an average side down south, and he is actually well liked down south, however he seen a challenge up here at rangers, one which he seems to be doing pretty well with so far.

15 Mar 2016 16:06:04
Onlyshowaround-

I'm one of the few Celtic fans that actually thinks Warburton (as long as he isn't talking) has done a good job. You only need to look at the McCoist/ KMcD/ McCall debacle to know that it's not as easy as people like to imagine. I think his recruitment has, for the most part, been good - although that will be scrutinized a bit more after the inevitable promotion.

People will argue that it's in the lower tier, or that Rangers have a far superior budget, so the success and style of football are expected - and to an extant they are right - but as I said above, you need only look back across the last 4 years to know it's not quite that simple.

15 Mar 2016 16:33:40
Sorry but I have to disagree as I don't believe he has done anything of note so far and it is far too early to be heralding him as "wonderful".

He inherited a good team from Rosler and managed to maintain the form and get them promoted after being in charge for half a season.

I then thought he done a decent job in the championship before being let go and failing to make the play-offs.

15 Mar 2016 17:31:32
BossHogg

I agree he can't be really judged until we are back in the top flight and playing against better teams. The praise for Warburton has been way over the top from certain people
The football has drastically improved from previous seasons and let's hope he can get in some quality players in and make some sort of challenge.

15 Mar 2016 19:01:15
Sorry tpp if Ronnie is a rubbish manager because ho "only" won the double In the top league , how can Warburton be a "good" manager for winning the second division, which has worse players and teams?

15 Mar 2016 19:28:55
Precious, it's good to see your inability to read isn't exclusive to our board.

Nowhere did I say Warburton was a good manager. I said he'd done a good job.

Nowhere have I mentioned Ronny is a rubbish manager, nor have I at any stage compared Warburton with Ronny, or their individual achievements.

Whoever 'that' debate/ argument you are having with is, it's not with me.

15 Mar 2016 20:03:51
Got to say the poeticpatient I do like your style who would have ever thought it would catch on football banter on a football banter site!

15 Mar 2016 20:17:19
Surely if as you claim, he is doing a good job, that would make him a good manager by sheer definition? Or are you saying he is a bad manager doing a good job? As for Ronnie every second post on here tells us how bad he is, so that one is more for your new found friends, who perhaps haven't realised how boringly condescending you are, yet .

15 Mar 2016 20:44:00
Reading what someone has posted before replying isn't condescension - it's necessary. I am willing to debate anything I post -- it's a banter site after all -- but I spend more time trying to deflect people who don't even read my post. I won't apologize for correcting them or you. If you don't want to be "condescended to" it's simple; read before your steam in with what you are oh so desperate to say.

I didn't mention Ronny and your post was directed at me. I don't care what "other people" are saying. Go take it up with them

As for your "new found friends" comment, grow up. That's really scraping the barrel.

And FYI, saying someone is doing a good job isn't the same as saying he's a good manager. Definition has nothing to do with it-in fact, they are definitively different statements. By the same token, someone can be doing a bad job, but that doesn't necessarily make them a bad manager.

There are many examples of this -- too many to mention.

Finally, if you are going to judge the job someone is doing, context is everything. MW is doing a good job based on what he was asked to do, much as LVG is doing a bad job. Much as JM did a bad job this season before being sacked. I'm not comparing managers -- and I'm certainly not MW's biggest fan -- but I can see through my green tinted glasses and admit that he's doing what he set out/ was asked to do, which is the definition of a good job.

15 Mar 2016 20:46:15
Cheers Azzlee. We can but dream. Watch, Precious will call me a sny away.

15 Mar 2016 21:06:33
MW did well down south in the championship. Perhaps after the last 3 years we are comparing the clariy and quality of a turd to glass, but some of us think we may have a diamond. His professionalism and organisational skills are without question top draw. We are enjoying, mostly, the style we are playing. I think anyone must admit we were very good against Dundee.
Anyway it must be real boring on the Celtic site for you 2 to be on here. Well good luck to you guys except when you play us of course.

15 Mar 2016 21:15:29
Who'd of thought it, two tims having a wee bitch at each other on a RANGERS site, absolutely priceless πŸ˜‚πŸ˜‚πŸ˜‚πŸ˜‚πŸ˜‚πŸ˜‚.

15 Mar 2016 21:13:44
Once again you have posted paragraph after paragraph of condescending tripe, without actually answering anything, so I will put it very simply for you . Do you think Warburton is a good manager, yes or no? Can I add I hardly think calling you friendly with people on a rangers banter site is " scraping the barrel", I have some rangers supporting friends and I can assure you I prefer them to condescending Celtic fans with over inflated egos, like yourself, any day of the week .

15 Mar 2016 21:40:47
Precious you've put way too much thought into what type of person I am -- especially given that it's wrong. Not that I'm surprised, because you're clearly basing it on what you perceive to read - which time and time again is proven to be quite different to what is written; exemplified by your reply to my scraping the barrel comment. So, to be 100% clear - that was a dig at your childish statement - no one else.

And to answer your question, since you are so desperate to know my thoughts: I don't know if he's a good manager. Time will tell. What I do know is he's doing a (in relative terms) good job.

15 Mar 2016 21:43:52
Agreed Soton Bear. Unbelievable!

15 Mar 2016 17:06:06
You only need to look at where Brentford are now to see how good a job he done with them.

15 Mar 2016 19:52:57
Precius so where does that leave delia celtic have better players and are a better team than there opposition, so does that make celtic certs for the title?

16 Mar 2016 14:52:24
Ah "my precious" I can't believe you are so taken aback when you receive a negative comment! when let's face it you are only really on here to create conflict or be provocative!

You tried to create a situation with TPP and when he retorted in an adult manner you replied with a childish comment to which he didn't rise!

Don't be so precious for goodness sake!

14 Mar 2016 22:49:42
Anyone any idea when the emails will be sent out to season ticket holders regarding the semi final tickets? i thought we would have heard once the date and time was sorted out!

15 Mar 2016 06:05:43
I'm sure I read somewhere the tickets will go to the ones that opted for the continuous credit card scheme regarding away and cup semi final/ final games etc. Might be wrong tho mate.

15 Mar 2016 07:01:47
I read that too hopefully true am part of that.

15 Mar 2016 08:52:23
it will go to season ticket holders first. we will have a allocation of around 21,000. supporters clubs will also need their share of tickets, so this time it could be slightly harder to get tickets. basically if you aren't a season ticket holder or a member of a supporters club don't get your hopes up of getting a ticket.

15 Mar 2016 09:40:51
It also means 14.000 season ticket holders will be disappointed, basically u could fill hampden twice over.

15 Mar 2016 12:05:16
I think season ticket holders not on continuous credit will miss out.

15 Mar 2016 13:23:02
Ryan, I don't know many Season ticket holders on the continuous credit scheme. and in all honesty I don't think the continuous credit was taken into consideration last year. this will most likely be the same as usual and be Season Ticket first. however if you can find me this article you read suggesting that it will be continuous credit first then that would prove me wrong. however the club haven't put anything about this game up yet, so I don't see where the rumour has come from.

15 Mar 2016 14:25:45
Ryan, it very much looks like you were right, order of sale is continuous credit season tickets, supporters clubs, non-continuous credit season tickets.

15 Mar 2016 14:26:32
The people i sit with are on the CCS. To be fair it should be season ticket holders getting the majority share and whatever else isn't claimed for given for general sale if any.

15 Mar 2016 14:29:52
Hi all first time i have posted i am part of the credit card scheme and there is an option for semi finals and finals,
Got final ticket for peterhead and meant to be first option cause took all previous rounds and semi final!

15 Mar 2016 16:26:34
I read it on Twitter mate so couldn't take a gospal! but I assumed the 1s that ticket cc box for semis n finals would be 1st to be allocated but wasn't 100%.

15 Mar 2016 00:15:51
My simple but stern message to kyle lafferty regarding him wanting to come back to us is, you made your bed and you sure as hell can lie in it, you wanted to take the club you profess to love to court and you call yourself a blue nose, NOT! We don't want you anywhere near rangers and we certainly don't need your sort! I'm sure I speak for the majority of 'gers fans when I say that your not welcome at rangers anymore, just because no other club wants you you are trying to play the sympathy card here, no thanks kyle and go and find any other club that's daft enough to have you! You're a very disruptive influence and very poor role model for any young upcoming player.

15 Mar 2016 03:17:43
Here here 15. I couldn't agree more. He wouldn't add any value to our team and I very much doubt he would fit with MA'S vision of what he looks for in a player. In fact to call him a player is a bit of a misnomer.

15 Mar 2016 08:04:22
It's funny how that as soon as he get engaged to a Glasgow girl and moving back here would suit him, he is all of a sudden stating his love for Rangers again. Hmmmmm.

15 Mar 2016 08:05:14
He a a far better player than Clark and Miller so why not? A big 6ft 4 reasonably quick forward might be just what we need.

15 Mar 2016 08:17:36
Cee

We do not need a guy who couldn't wait to desert the club. We don't need a guy who embarrassed the club more than once on the field. We do not need a guy who only seems to want to come to us because he can't get a game with his own club and nobody else wants him.

15 Mar 2016 09:04:53
Better than Millar, aye right!

15 Mar 2016 09:45:11
Better than Miller my arse, kenny Miller is more than just a player he's an ambassador for Glasgow Rangers, theirs a reason Kyle lafferty can't get a club and it's not his ability, it's his behaviour off the park, mark warburton would never sign lafferty in a million years.

15 Mar 2016 10:00:04
Cee, kyle lafferty WILL NEVER be better than kenny miller or the true pro kenny is in a month of sunday's mate, this 6'5" lump of wood can't even header a ball!

15 Mar 2016 10:52:52
How many Rangers ambassadors have played for Celtic?

I should also point out that he was not trying to take the club to court, he was trying to take the company to court. If you recall correctly, the club and company are two separate entities or are you claiming our club died when the company died?

15 Mar 2016 11:34:10
Did no one see kenny Miller 8 yards out basically an open goal and square a pass to nobody? Miller's finished. Doesn't matter how nice Miller is or how hard he works he's nowhere near the level we need to challenge celtic.

15 Mar 2016 12:15:24
I'd take kyle lafferty back in an instant. Would be a nice bit of international quality back in our team. One of the few players who left at that time who I would welcome back with open arms.

15 Mar 2016 13:24:02
No chance, sue he is better than Clark and debatably better than Miller but just remember how much of an absolute FUD the guy is!

15 Mar 2016 14:05:43
Scotty everyone's forgetting that warburton does background checks on players and anyhow would he take a pay cut. personally wouldn't touch him. But if the management team fancy him I would suck it up.

15 Mar 2016 01:44:56
Despite his ability to score great goals at important times when it mattered most he was found to have no character and no real love of Rangers jumping ship without a thought towards getting a signing fee to help the club out.
