With Lee Wallace confirmed as captain does that mean the eustace deal is dead as mw had him earmarked as captain?

Believable1 Unbelievable3

17 Aug 2015 05:55:01
Don't think so as he was in the warm up yesterday and from what I have heard it is him stopping any deal until he proves his fitness which says an awful lot about the man and I would think at the very least he would be offered the coaching role vacated by durie

There is genuine competition for places at the moment for the first time since going down to the 3rd division. New lad looked decent today and is already a far better player than allan. Imagine Ball and this week's new loanee will also push for a place. Whole team has to stay on their toes and deliver at the weekends, which they are doing thus far. Delighted with the change we are seeing in Miller's performances also. Future is bright!

Believable5 Unbelievable1

16 Aug 2015 21:58:37
Really excited to see what this team can achieve, they look great so far. The new style of play is amazing to watch, so attacking, from every angle. I think we should be aiming for a cup final and the league, how good would it be to be back in SPL and Europe

Agree2 Disagree1

16 Aug 2015 22:38:17
I agree with your post bobbybeag with one exception. Who covers for Wallace if he picks up a knock? Who do we have in the LB department in the youth set up. Is there anyone ready to fill in if and when required.

Agree0 Disagree0

17 Aug 2015 06:56:21
Ball or Halliday can play left back.Doesn't have to be a youth player.

Agree1 Disagree0

17 Aug 2015 09:21:54
I am pretty sure a youth team left back could come in and play if needed.

16 Aug 2015 19:30:42
well so far so good or should it be excellent warburton and eir so far seem to be a class act no rash statements treat everyone with respect and today did something macoist would never would have done took of three players to give other members of the squad a game and rest the three coming off macoist had the league won and never gave any young player or squad members a gamei f for the rest of the season they are only 75% as good we won't have anything to worry about mind there maybe one or two hiccups along the way

You might be surprised BIGWULL, but I totally agree with you and it's great to be talking about football again. Over the last couple of weeks confidence is building and long may it continue. Reservations I have with DK are just that, but in the hands of MW and DW, our potential is limitless. This footballing set-up has the potential to take us back to levels that I thought impossible.
LONG MAY IT CONTINUE.

Sorry to ruin the party but where is the money going to come from to see us past Christmas?

Agree0 Disagree4

17 Aug 2015 06:59:32
ABHABH - why do you never have anything positive to say? We're playing a brand of football with a team of young fit and hungry players, (not world beaters by any stretch) we have recruited wisely by not blowing silly money on players with big egos. DK was perhaps a bit foolish in his overspending statement and may wish he had never have said it but I and most rangers fans are willing to give him the benefit of doubt and trust that he will do the right thing by us. He's keeping matter private which need to be kept just like he said he would and only talk to the press when they feel it is necessary. So far he hasn't made any terrible calls which can't be said of previous boards and owners so let's just have a bit of faith and let him run the club whilst we enjoy our new brand of exciting attacking football!

Was told that the other loan player is a striker from Spurs, he didn't join last week as Spurs were low on back up strikers, Soldado left and Adebayour doesn't have a squad number, they signed a striker from Lyon on Friday so our deal can now go through, I had a look through their strikers and could only find a 19 year old Jamaican striker called Shayon Harrison, wouldn't even call this a rumour, just me having a punt

Believable1 Unbelievable1

16 Aug 2015 22:07:55

Fellow gers. Once again another convincing victory that on another day could have ended up with another 3 or 4 at least on that. Thought wes looked more comfortable today. But concerned we looked flat at the back for the goal same as the St mirren game buts it's still early doors. Tavernier is a real find. How many goals n assists in a few games? Miller keeps proving the doubters wrong and as for waghorn, we had enough of Boyd just standing waiting for the ball to come to him, big waghorn comes deep m makes things happen. Very happy after today's game and looking forward to the next one. Boy from Spurs will cause mayhem as well

Believable9 Unbelievable0

16 Aug 2015 15:29:55
Thought our defence looked much more solid today including the kicking from Wes. I know big Waghorn isn't prolific but he really does link up well. It's looking really good fellow Bears.

For the first time in a very long time there looks to be goals from all through the team. I wouldn't be too disappointed if we didn't sign one more player. It's early days but it looks like we're going to win this league easily. I think Hardie, Walsh & Murdoch might have to go out on loan for game time.

On another day we could have went into double figures - could have had a penalty, hit the post and the bar and a couple of near misses, and to top it all these players are still getting to know each other.

Wished we had had MW and DW three or four years ago!

gkk

We have just started to play some great football and rather than talk about that you have a go at one of our players. Maybe you forgot who put in the inch perfect cross for Shiels to score against St Mirren? Also I doubt very much there isn't going to be any injuries or suspensions throughout the season so Templeton will still have a part to play in the season

Have to agree hooky78 He is part of Tottenham first team played a few pee-season and even with Tottenham he caught the eye very confident and composed

Maybe the other loanee will be Harry Winks you never know! Given the fact that Tottenham haven't got off to the best of starts

Before the transfer window is closed I reckon Rangers will sign a striker along with a player on loan

Mariusz Zaliukaz has been told he can go

Ball was brought in because he's good at a number of positions think Warburton made himself clear all players need to show determination drive skill and most of all want to play for rangers love all the mind readers on here I think Warburton made himself clear on numerous occasions onwards and upwards

16 Aug 2015 09:50:25
Not sure if this is just my opinion but, waghorn is a winger, it is obvious to see when he gets put on to the wing in the final 20 minutes of most games, he looks incredible down the wing, he could probably do the job as a striker but i'd prefer him on the wing, Warburton will know where he wants to play him, does anyone think this could open the door to stevie may? Take him on loan this season and if all goes well bring him on board?

Also can anyone confirm if May is on his last year of his contract?

Believable2 Unbelievable2

16 Aug 2015 10:27:56
Putting Waghorn on the wing drops a youngster like McKay no thanks.

Agree0 Disagree4

16 Aug 2015 10:59:15
Agree 100% either a winger or no 10 definitely not a striker though he will score. Really excited about todays game and going crazy trying to guess who is coming in this week.

Agree0 Disagree1

16 Aug 2015 11:19:49
It's not about being a youngster or not. It's who will do a better job in that position. I personally think we need a striker who will put away the chances we are creating. Waghorn has impressed me since he's came but more so when put on the right and if that means someone gets dropped because he does a better job then so be it. That's the nature of the game and upto the player who got dropped to get back in the team.

Believable3 Unbelievable2

16 Aug 2015 10:22:23
Just looked at Hibs rumours page and not seeing their fans "raging" as you state. In fact most of them appear to be really glad he is away for a sum of money they feel is ok. For some unknown reason they think our offer was going to be on the "never never"??They actually believe that Allan is going to a better team. It looks like any dissenting voices are from our fans on their site.
Why are we sending so many of our young players out on loan.

Don't know if he's injured. But I believe that Stevie May is yet to play for Wednesday this season. If he's not injured could he be the loanee?

Believable0 Unbelievable1

16 Aug 2015 09:46:56
Stevie may is no longer wanted by sheffield, blackburn were looking at him but due to a transfer embargo and not being able to sell Rhodes this fell through, he could be the loan move, but I do believe he is in his final year, so there could be a view of a permanent move?

Agree0 Disagree1

16 Aug 2015 12:57:00
Stevie May up at Lennoxtown just now

Agree0 Disagree2

16 Aug 2015 03:39:49
I personally would like us to stick with what we have, if we get injuries then we should promote youth, loans are fine with me if there is a option to buy or loan in Jan if we are at the bare bones, we should move on from the **** Allan stuff and get behind the players that are playing in blue, if we continue to play proper football the fans will keep coming, last season we beat Killie, ICT & ST Johnstone with a poor team, keep believing & look forward

Believable2 Unbelievable2

16 Aug 2015 15:28:09
A big centre half and big target man needed would round off the team

Agree0 Disagree0

16 Aug 2015 02:01:33
Well I for one believe that the SA deal is the proof if it were required that Rangers are now on the rise, Celtic's only interest in the boy was the fact that he was a target for us. He will probably be no more than a squad player getting the odd run out in easy games when player's need to be rested, only purchased to stop him adding to a resurging Gers that look like they could do what Hearts did last season and leave the rest standing still, especially now that Hib's are even weaker. Celtic can see the threat to their domestic crown even now and are starting to worry, that was their only motivation in the move to try and slow the momentum that is growing. But however hard they try it won't be enough, the most successful club in the world is only getting stronger by the week and will be sitting back on the top of the pile within a few years, and their fear has been recognized.

Believable5 Unbelievable5

16 Aug 2015 08:53:33
1 am that's my opinion and I wonder if we really wanted him but basically we have got what we want we have weakened the opposition although the last offer to his agent was a good deal but celtic offered him 10k a week

Agree3 Disagree1

16 Aug 2015 09:18:05
ha ha BIGWULL "did not really want him" you were desperate to sign him, also Delia has said that they were scouting him for a year. As regards the bids your club made, I have it on good authority that your offer of "instalments" consisted of breaking open all Mr Kings childrens piggie banks, followed by 6 monthly instalmemts when more piggie banks were filled lol

Agree2 Disagree0

16 Aug 2015 09:27:18
OMG!Do you really believe in your tiny, uneducated mind that celtic signed scott allan just to "weaken" rangers! Seriously? Celtic done their business fast and efficiently without any fuss!Lesson over!

Agree1 Disagree1

16 Aug 2015 10:17:07
Sorry I am but that is absolute nonsense. All this saga has shown is that we are further away from Celtic than ever. This episode has been embarrassing and shown us up as amateur. We can't even afford to pay ยฃ300k so made an offer that depended on us reaching the champions league group stages, what a surprise Hibs turned down our offers, they're probably still laughing. We are a club with no money. As long as we have a convicted criminal as chairman we will struggle to find investment. But hey, at least he's a real Rangers man.

Agree1 Disagree1

16 Aug 2015 10:20:30
Face saving, history re-writing, logic twisters that is all you are BIGWULL and I am. Honestly BIGWULL, if you want to be taken seriously on anything you write cut out the nonsense like this in between your "weighty" financial knowledge claims. Personally, on the back of some of the junk you talk, I wouldn't put you in charge of an ice cream van for five minutes.

I don't know if Celtic paid the cash up front but I know you weren't of a mind too, they have 2 players in too with 37 SPL games experience between them. So while no one can say if they will be better (bear in mind they lost their first game in the league and a game to you with Allan at their disposal) we can definitely say I don't think the signing had anything to do with Rangers keeping Ronni awake at night. Hahaha it is making me laugh even repeating it but both of you keep thinking it, delusion and a good number of the Rangers fan base are never far away from each other.

Agree1 Disagree0

16 Aug 2015 10:27:07
SA went to Celtic for on reason only? money.the lad is looking to his future,,, football is a short shelf life and the bigger the wage now the more you have when it all stops in your 30s.
He has been the exact same since he was with Utd. money. not loyalty I'm afraid he has an agent to pay.

Agree0 Disagree0

16 Aug 2015 10:40:22
First of all I would like to thank Celtic for weakening our nearest rivals by taking their best player away. SA is a good player who has in the past badly advised e.g going down South when he was too young then getting involved in the bright lights having to come back to scotland to get back on track. I believe he will regret his move to Celtic as he will not progress any further . If you look at who Celtic have signed recently mainly from Dundee United how many of these players have progress?

Agree0 Disagree2

16 Aug 2015 10:58:11
God I still see there's a load of dilusional follow followers on here! Celtic know there's a threat to there crown and we. Didn't really want scotty Allan!! Hahahaha! The scary thing is that use actually believe that! How can the champs be threatened by a team who play in a division below them? Or did u forget for a minute your in Scotlands 2nd tier! Lol! And as for Scotty bhoy Allan! Every single one of use on here were convinced he would be joining u! And it kills u that he's now in the hoops! Yes he'll be a squad player because there's at least 6 better midfielders in front of him! But this transfer puts your lot firmly in your place! Now u just go back to hoping for Dave king to get the biscuit tin down from the shelf and Let the champs get on with wrapping up 5 in a row and getting in the CL!! ๐Ÿ˜†๐Ÿ˜†๐Ÿ˜†

timalloy I said I wondered if the club really wanted to sign not me as far as I was concerned it would happen or not that was the case but if celtic were tracking him it took j collins to watch the dumbarton game before they made an offer down can't help feeling celtic have plenty midfielders but time will tell

Also need a top notch Scouting Network

Mark Warburton and Davie Weir are doing well in bringing the pieces together Still lots to do but as long as the football keeps improving and there are competition for places in the team!

Agree0 Disagree0

15 Aug 2015 23:07:48
The team seems to be just about complete now, once we get eustace and this loan signing in next week then I assume that will be the transfer business done.

So it's time to concentrate on other things.

It would be good to hear a bit more from the board. It's good to see that they have backed the manager in the players he wanted. Obviously we didn't get Scott Allan, but hibs weren't going to sell to rangers and we offered what he is worth.

So it would be good to hear an update from the board on things like the share issue which they were meant to be doing. I am sure it was meant to be about August or September when they mentioned it before.

It is a lot better for the board to be a bit private, as with the previous board, they were in the paper daily and also talking a load of guff all the time. So it's good for the new board to be more private and professional, but they do need to be open with their plans.
