16 Aug 2016 22:08:17
lets get real here---lescott was on 35k a week at villa-----maybe, just maybe an offer of $10k tops for a guy that age is more than suffice---he would be daft to say no but greed is a funny thing--.

16 Aug 2016 23:18:09
If he had 12 months remaining in Villa contract that has been cancelled will have received 12 months salary buyout. He could afford to play for us at minimum salary and receive platform and profile. Hope his legs have not gone and we can make this a win win.

16 Aug 2016 21:17:18
Calm down.

16 Aug 2016 21:12:26
See Crooks in full training, would love him to figure in squad for Motherwell on Saturday.

16 Aug 2016 21:26:52
The hat said he's wasn't training fully at the start of the week, just back with the team so will be 3/ 4 weeks before he plays!

16 Aug 2016 22:07:50
Hes bn out for months with an ankle injury and only started full training yesterday somehow can't see him being anywer near the squad for Sat.

17 Aug 2016 08:37:25
MW said he'd like him to play 2/ 3 U23 games first to find his match legs.

16 Aug 2016 20:39:38
After embedding some of the posts regarding potential signings, we should change one of our songs:

WE ARE RANGERS, SUPER RANGERS
WE DON'T LIKE US AND WE DON'T CARE

Seriously though, some of these lads will ultimately pull on a sacred blue jersey and they've slatted before doing so. I expect to hear that sort of guff from that mob about our players but not from our own. Sad.

16 Aug 2016 21:16:53
I wasn't initially positive about Garner, want to see Dodoo get a serious chance, but after speaking to PNE fans (my half brother is a season ticket holder) and lurking on their forums I'll happily admit I may have jumped the gun! A player they describe as a Lion who will fight for every inch of turf and at 5"10 will win headers against 6"3 defenders and they're convinced he will easilly score 25+ a season in the SPL.
Senderos isn't one that gives me even a semi either but he's had his moments at the top level and is reliable footballer, warburton mentioned he looks technically strong in training, who's good in the air! At 31 a worthwhile gamble for me!
Lescott however, always thought he was way out his depth in every department in every league and every game. I know pace isn't everything but he had absolute zero at his peak! Struggles to play a four yard pass, can't defend has a poor, arrogant attitude and only seems to care about getting off the field pronto to put a fkin beanie on! Nah, I'll pass!

16 Aug 2016 22:05:37
Bilbo, totally agree, we slate them before they are here and we slate our own when they play instead of supporting them all that wear that famous jersey. It's depressing and as you say very sad. I never knew anyone that got better getting g told they are crazy! Everyone waring the Jersey should be fully supported and encouraged when they play for the Rangers.

16 Aug 2016 22:42:37
RFCinfinity, what u talking about he can't defend he won the league with man city and got in there first team squad over Kolo Toure, so stop talking out yer ar**.

16 Aug 2016 22:49:41
Joe garner looks a player alright and will be a tremendous signing for us, he'll score goals for fun up here and is good on all aspects of being a good striker, right foot, left foot finishes as well as being a terrific header of a ball, also full of running and brave as a lion! On our pursue of a centre half I honestly think both senderos and lescott would be good signings for us as they would do very well in the scottish premiership, I do however know we'll only sign one of these two centre halfs so my own personal choice would be lescott over senderos even though lescott is 3 years older than senderos, lescott is the type of centre half we need, very strong in the challenge, commanding and terrific in the air, we currently don't have a centre half like that at ibrox, I like the above posters can't understand all this negativity regarding these 2 centre halfs and there's even some negativity aimed at us signing joe garner, let's just wait and see what they do before criticising them, I'm extremely confident they'll be very good signings for us, be patient and trust our manager's judgement!

17 Aug 2016 08:43:03
These sort of players coming to the mighty Rangers will only raise the profile of our club and Scottish football in general. Sheep and hearts need to get finger out and start bringing in some names. This is how it starts. Roll out the red carpet and see how these lads get on.

16 Aug 2016 20:39:34
Can't believe the negativity regarding us possibly signing players such as Senderos and Lescott. If you told me 12 months ago we would have Barton, Rossiter and Kranjkar and also being linked with the standard of player we are being linked with I wouldn't have believed it. I feel we are going in the right direction and once we get the merchandise stuff sorted we will be stronger than ever.

16 Aug 2016 21:16:40
The fact we wanted two targets and we have managed to (well I'd assume we will) get both of them is just another master class from the hat. If there were better options we would have signed them. Too many people lack enough brain cells to make an informed opinion.

16 Aug 2016 22:42:08
I think everybody is, forgetting that we play in a lesser league than English league one we are looking at English Premiership players and internationals to boot and apart from Garner we are saying they don't cut it cmon.

17 Aug 2016 07:30:34
Put up a rather snappy comment in line with the above. Astonished that there are people on here saying they are't interested in Lescott and Senderos. It's genuinely laughable. Top level players. 'They don't have pace'. Seriously. He a 6'3 CB. He's played the last 10years of his career against the worlds best teams, teeming with the worlds best players. And some people on here think he can't cut it against Adam Rooney and Leigh Griffiths! FML.

17 Aug 2016 08:20:34
How can you sat Lescott never had pace RFCinfiniyy?
I remember him playing left back for Everton regularly and he was awesome. I know he had a poor season with villa but he was partnering Richards who had never played CB regularly before and there midfield was non existent. I really hope he signs as I think he is exactly what we need at the back.

17 Aug 2016 08:52:15
RFCInfinity has got a new in his bonnet regarding Lescott. Think there's something more to it. What has big Joel done to you? Tell us. We can help. Lie down on the couch and tell us.

17 Aug 2016 10:32:26
have to say that vit annoys me when people say oh he played top level football for the last ten year sofcourse he will do well up here!
I don't really agree with thatscottish football is a different beast from English football and as much as their top two leagues are harder than ours its a different style up here which some players can't adjust to.
I hope i'm half wrong on this one but I think toure and lescott will struggle up here as to lack of pace.

I know some people think that d/ w had no pace but if u remember when he played for us we where a really well organized defensive team all 11 players where defensive .
we now need defenders with pace because we have a style of play that leaves us open for counter attacks and leaves the defenders with a harder job.

17 Aug 2016 12:38:59
Hey James - I get where you are coming from but any decent CB with pace is worth millions. We can get a very experienced CB for next to nothing. Comparing a CB with lack of pace in the EPL when they are vs Aguero/ Sterling/ Vardy isn't relevant as there is no striker in SPL who is a quick and skillful as these guys.

17 Aug 2016 15:43:55
I don't know if you have seen any of my other posts on here teddy of the south?
I think 1 million would get us kyle bartley who had pace and could read the Scottish game quite well and bougherra is sum1 with lots more pace than lescott yes his carrer wasn't as good as lescotts but he knows Scottish football and knows how to play from the back so 1` million and our problem for me would be solved.

but hey i'm not the gaffer its just my opinion.
with those two we have pace and they have been proven in scotlands top flight already.

16 Aug 2016 20:09:46
Joleon lescott would be a great addition.

17 Aug 2016 11:36:00
Lescott is done but surely once the hat has watched him in training he will know this.

16 Aug 2016 19:27:36
What is it with all these negative posts regarding possible signings why don't we give people a chance these guys aren't even signed yet but opinions are made wait to see what they can do first without talking pish.

16 Aug 2016 19:58:04
Jd63 spot on. so much negativity b4 a baws bn kicked. iv seen us sign euro/ uefa/ world cup winners and theyv bn some of the worst players in our history so reputation goes for nowt. wait til these players pull on the famous blue jersey b4 we pelter them.

16 Aug 2016 20:01:56
To be fair, most fans have been really positive this time round. Joe Garner is seen as the last piece of the jigsaw up front and is the out and out striker we've all be wanting for a long while.

Lescott is causing an exciting debate, but that's what makes it interesting when your a passionate fan, which all Bears are.

He may be a few years older now, but like Rossiter, Barton, Kranjcar, Dodoo, Windass and Crooks, it'd be very difficult to turn down the chance to get this type of player on a free.

16 Aug 2016 20:21:40
Do we not remember the same hype over Weir? There was a divide between us, look what big davie achieved and how far he went with rangers? He was too slow, too old, not what we were looking for.

16 Aug 2016 21:00:27
Anybody who thinks that you get to spend your entire career in the EPL, winning it, picking up England Caps and representing Everton, Man City, West Brom and Villa without being a good player clearly have know idea what they are talking about imo.

17 Aug 2016 10:39:19
I for one know that lescott was a great defender obviously but when your legs get old and u get too slow its not time to play for rangers go to America or something.
Everyone is entitled to their opinion and as for big weir he had another ten defenders in the same team as him the most defensive rangers I've ever seen which made his job a bit easier as to lescott who imo will get caught out with his lack of pace, although he will command the defence and he might get senderos to do all the running. its just my opinion and we are all entitled to one .

he was a great player but nw I think he will be too slow.

16 Aug 2016 19:23:18
We all know the money that's associated with the Championship these days and people claims its the second richest league etc! With TV revenues and the rest how are PNE so broke? They have stated, perhaps incorrectly, that Joe garner couldn't turn the move down financially suggesting we have more money to play with! Are they really that poor or does he think he's joining Celtic who have more money than sense?

16 Aug 2016 19:36:24
Because they pay big wages.

16 Aug 2016 19:42:09
Well not to him, one of their better players, apparently!

16 Aug 2016 19:45:36
If they pay big wages they must be good then cause am sure we are not in a position to throw away money the guys that make these decisions must know what they are doing and am sure they deserve a chance before these negative responces.

16 Aug 2016 20:50:25
I don't think they will be on big wages what i was trying to say if they are on a good wage fine but not wages that we have paid in the past i am sure we have learned from that and the ones that do the buisness will know what they are doing.

16 Aug 2016 21:15:03
are you serious? name another second tire spending 12m on players. Every team in england spend's big on wages the Leicester stuff does my head in there still paying players 100x more than any other team of there calibre. Preston are skint because there forced to spend big money on wages to compete or they wouldn't be there simple.

16 Aug 2016 21:39:46
This is scotland and it should be an honour to play for our club it shouldn't be all about money maybe that's one of the reasons they maybe want to come here.

17 Aug 2016 10:43:25
if its about the money they don't sign for rangers its that simple league one teams down south can outbid us for anyone so if they come to rangers its to win trophies and maybe get a stab at Europe again.

16 Aug 2016 19:15:56
dont think warbs would b on a flight down south to speak with lesscott if he didn't think it could be done tho and i think tbh he'd b a great addition to rangers fresh start n aw that.

16 Aug 2016 19:30:43
If we signed this plank and he pulled a Twitter stunt like last year after getting horsed in an old firm game, I'd personally wipe him off the face of the planet!

16 Aug 2016 19:59:45
Abit extreme RFCinfinity but i know wher your coming from lol.

16 Aug 2016 22:13:56
Listen guys your not going to please every1 all the time. i can still remember during the 9in a row days growing men sitting nxt to me saying Walter didn't have a clue and should step down. sheer and utter madness.

16 Aug 2016 22:30:23
MW seldom does anything without being certain IMHO.

16 Aug 2016 19:10:30
Lescott utter garbage? Nonsense! He's got bags of experience and won't get pushed about like Kiernan and Wilson. He will do very well in spl. A great reader of the game, people say he has no pace but neither did Franco Baresi! He wisnae bad! A good defender reads the game and he can do that just fine. Miles better than we have currently! that's a fact!

16 Aug 2016 19:27:30
Some times it doesn't matter who we get in, for some people it's never good enough mate.

16 Aug 2016 19:37:42
Doesn't need pushed around mate. Has the balance and composure of a newly born Giraffe. His reading of the game is actually awful too, ask any Villa fan. Also, his attitude is questionable at best. But why not compare him to Baresi! Sigh.

16 Aug 2016 19:39:22
I forgot to mention he rubbish in the air too! Good player though.

16 Aug 2016 19:45:56
Ask any villa fan? Worst post for a while rfc infinity! Do you know plenty Aston villa fans? The guy has played at the top level yet you slag him before you see how he does for us!? Anytime I've saw him play at the back on tv I've liked him. Ask any villa fans! Whiiittttttt.

{Ed001's Note - go to the Villa site and ask about him. He is a joke to Villa fans and was previously to West Brom fans. His legs have gone and his attitude stinks.}

16 Aug 2016 19:48:08
On a more positive note, I'd take Senderos, reliable with the ball at his feet, Warburton mentioned he looks technically sound in training, and good in the air!

16 Aug 2016 19:52:26
Most players seem to be a joke to villa fans ED. Let's judge the guy after he plays a run of games. I would take him over Wilson and Kiernan any day!

{Ed001's Note - I have seen plenty to judge him, he is robbing a living.}

16 Aug 2016 20:01:44
Ed isn't a fan then.

16 Aug 2016 20:19:31
Everybody deserves a chance he was crap for villa maybe west brom maybe at man city he was fine whos to say when he pulls the blue jersey on for us he might be good judge him then not when he hasn't even kicked a ball for us.

16 Aug 2016 20:24:17
I'll look forward to him proving you wrong ED. Ps you don't need to go onto villa fans forums to rate a player, you should be able to do that yourself without listening to fans who have been mince for years!

{Ed001's Note - is there a need for the arrogant slagging off of other team's fans? They will know better than you whether the lad is good or a donkey, as they have had to suffer watching him all season. He will prove nothing and nobody wrong, because the only reason he will possibly have success in Scotland is because the level has fallen so far, not because he is any good. As I told you, his legs have gone, which was why Pulis got rid of him. He is no Weir, who was a quality, intelligent player, who could make up for a lack of pace by using his head. He is not a bright lad at all.}

16 Aug 2016 20:43:45
So you are now saying he could be a success because the quality up here is dross . Brilliant ED I'll take that all day long! Better than we have then!? Think you've just confirmed that .

{Ed001's Note - no, I was saying if he succeeds it would be because the level has dropped even further than anyone realised. You are obviously not very good at reading.}

16 Aug 2016 20:46:23
Ed, what if he signs? Is MW daft?

{Ed001's Note - daft? Because he makes a mistake? We all get things wrong, which is why you have all been screaming about the state of the defence as it stands, because you have the wrong players there. Does it make someone daft? No. A mistake is how we learn and you just hope that he will learn.}

16 Aug 2016 21:01:46
I think MW knows what he is doing more than you ED. His legs are gone 😂😂😂.

{Ed001's Note - I am telling you why he was let go by West Brom. I am clearly wasting my time talking to you who just wears blue tinted specs and has no clue about reality. I won't bother again sharing information with you.}

16 Aug 2016 21:09:20
Interesting Comments Ed, thanks for your view. How would you compare Lescott with Clint Hill?

{Ed001's Note - Hill is a totally different kind of player, he has never really had pace to lose, Lescott relied heavily on his pace. At their best Lescott was better, Hill has always been on the verge of Premier League level in England, but not quite there. When Lescott had pace, he was clearly Prem level. Now though, Lescott is getting a career on past glories, rather than current abilities. It is not just that his legs have gone and he is fading, it is his lack of desire that has seen him fail so badly at the club he supposedly supports, Villa. Hill, on the other hand, has always had to fight and has the hunger, just lacked the physical attributes to be top level.}

17 Aug 2016 15:53:56
ed can u answer me this no one seems to have an opinion on it . would u rather take back bougherra for free and have his pace and proven knowlage of the Scottish game?
I would take him and offer 1 million to get kyle bartley from leeds I think he plays for now to good defenders one with a sell on value if he does well and one with the experience and heart to lead the defence.

{Ed001's Note - I have not seen Bougherra play in a long time, so it is impossible to compare.}

16 Aug 2016 18:32:12
If we get these 3 deals over the line I'll be delighted and also confident we will win the league. My strongest 11 would now be;
Foderingham
Tav Lescott Wilson Wallace
Rossiter
Barton Windass (Kranjcar when fit)
Wagghorn Garner McKay

Subs Gilks
Senderos
Hodson
MOH
Dodoo
Forrester

That is leaving out a lot of talent to rotate with like Holt, Crooks, Miller, Halliday etc. There is no doubt about it this is now a fantastic squad and will be a great headache to have for the manager. Well done to the Club for putting this squad together.

16 Aug 2016 18:48:26
Would Senderos and Lescott at CB both better than what we've got just now imo.

16 Aug 2016 19:01:19
Kiernan over wilson. We need atleast one CB with some pace.

16 Aug 2016 19:02:46
I'd go for:
Foderingham
Tavernier Crooks Lescott Wallace
Barton Rossiter Forrester
Waghorn Garner McKay

Subs: Gilks, Hodson, Kiernan, O'Halloran, Kranjcar, Dodoo, Windass.

16 Aug 2016 19:22:27
A fit holt needs to start, brings us something different in midfield . Plus gilks over wes. He's a bombscare!

16 Aug 2016 19:40:31
Ger12 good shout, a lot of fellow bears are in for a surprise with Crooks, when fully fit will be a very good addition .

16 Aug 2016 19:52:09
I was unsure about Foderingham last season but since the cup final I don't think he's put a foot wrong! Hopefully we add Senderos and Garner. No thanks to Lescott though. Absolute liability.

16 Aug 2016 20:50:17
What does Harry Forrester have to do to make it into you guys starting XI? I love this lad. So much hunger, drive, dig, quality. He gets right in about it. Ian Ferguson with a touch of Davie Cooper. Not a direct comparison just has wee touches of both. He's on his way to being our best player. Loved how he got in about at Dundee and got tore into that tube Odea.

16 Aug 2016 22:28:20
danny Wilson would be in my team every week.

17 Aug 2016 16:05:00
id have either keeper don't think any of them have done anything wrong this season.
if we get both i'd play lescott and senderos and garner so my team would be: wes
tav senderos lescott Wallace

rossiter
forrester holt

dodoo McKay
garner

subs barton, niko, miller, waggy, hodson and gilks.

16 Aug 2016 18:25:17
I see reports saying hull have no interest in Adrian Mariapia. I think him and Lescott would be an ideal paring but guessing his wages were the stumbling block wonder if there is still any chance of going back for him. I suspect though that we would only sign one more CB, can't see us having 5 CBs.

16 Aug 2016 18:39:58
Anyone who thinks we should sign Lescott wants their head looked at! He's utter garbage!

16 Aug 2016 18:51:23
Utter garbage yet he's played top flight football all his days basically and won the EPL also you do know who we have currently at CB.? He's miles better than both Wilson and Kiernan. Even Senderos is better than them two and he's 31 still few years yet.

16 Aug 2016 20:51:18
RFCInfinity man you really hate Lescott eh?

17 Aug 2016 16:08:47
guys just because sum1 has played top flight football in England doesn't mean they are good enough for us . his legs have gone and he is very slow i'd play him with sum1 that has a bit of pace just because he was a really good defender back what 4 / 5 years ago.

16 Aug 2016 17:43:05
no matter what we do or who we sign there always going to be those fans who are so negative just wish they would shut up and get behind the magic hat.

16 Aug 2016 18:21:37
Think a limited number of fans are negative at first when they here some of the names linked with our club.

But you have to give them credit in the long run though. They do get right behind the players whomever they are when they've officially signed on the dotted line and for the most are very positive.

We all just want what's best for our club and we can right off certain players, then in three/ four months time they become irreplaceable. That's what happens at all accomplished and successful clubs.

16 Aug 2016 20:54:13
Thom loving your reasoning and diplomacy tonight man. Unfortunately tho, I can't fully agree. Poor DW and RK get it really tight on this forum and I don't think they deserve it. People act like they've scored a hattrick of OGs against Celtic.

16 Aug 2016 17:29:36
joe ranger will sign today or tomorrow----lescott will be offered a deal on our terms-----then WE ARE DONE-----GREAT SQUAD I FEEL.

16 Aug 2016 17:03:27
Lescott to be signed with the intention of competing directly with Griffiths for the worst barnet in Scotland. Seriously though he would add a lot to out defence in terms of attacking the ball in the air, however his attitude at Villa was nothing short of disgusting.

16 Aug 2016 16:39:34
I know a lot of fans are dubious about the possible signing of Jolean Lescott but prior to last season where I admit he was terrible for Villa he did play well for west brom and was a commanding CB and it's not that long ago he played for Man City. Double the number of appearances of Senderos over the past 2 years maybe a gamble worth taking, remember the whole villa team were rubbish last year. Sat in a media interview for Remey carde former villa manager and although he seemed a nice guy he seemed a broken man who really would inspire any player so warbs and weir might get best out of him.

16 Aug 2016 16:48:01
Would maybe be an idea to take both? we need options in central defence.

16 Aug 2016 17:07:26
We just have to accept there are some posters on here who re negative no matter what. Lescott won the EPL winners medal has played for our noisy neighbours national team and he is useless, Senderos was so bad he played 5 years for that mickey mouse team Arsenal, and we have no money brigade (we all know money is tight and may be for some years) we offer over! m for Garner but we ain't paying all the money up front . While everyone is entitled to o[pinions you have to wonder if some on here really are supporters. By the way completely ignore the 3 players I mentioned insert any p;layer same old same.

16 Aug 2016 19:02:32
We'l not be able to slag the thumb now for being ugly if we get Lescott.

16 Aug 2016 16:04:14
I'm going down to Blackpool this weekend, does anyone know a pub that will show the Rangers game? i think it's only on Rangers TV.

16 Aug 2016 17:31:47
if u have a tablet bring i with u most bars in blackpool would have free wifi so u could use your rangers tv subscription that way and still see the match.

16 Aug 2016 17:37:29
Gallant pioneer station rd Blackpool is Rangers pub pal.

16 Aug 2016 19:04:43
Thanks guys, looking forward to another 3 points.

16 Aug 2016 15:31:31
I am looking forward to him joining as the Preston fans seem gutted to be losing him, my only concern is. where does he fit in? Waghorn is still our main goal threat and needs to be played up top and in the middle, he will score 25+ if played there on a regular basis. If Garner is a Naismith style of player then he would be looking to play just off Waghorn, but going by MW's strategy so far we have been playing 4-3-3. Does he plan to go 4-4-2 which for me is the way to go, means more cover for our "fullbacks", but on the other hand who is our pair in the middle? Barton and Rossiter are the obvious pairing for me but then you look at leaving out Holt, Krancjar and Halliday! I think Miller is going to be our super sub this year, coming on and making an impact in the last 30 mins so dropping him does not concern me, but what about Dodoo? He's not here to be a squad player! Its a great position to be in and MW must be rubbing his hands together with all this talent at his disposal. We have the best squad in Scotland now (apart from those troublesome CB spots but that will be sorted within the next week I would think) .

Whats your thoughts lads?

16 Aug 2016 15:52:13
he's a striker, he's going to play upfront there is no chance warbs is going to change formation.

16 Aug 2016 16:02:07
I think the gaffer sees dodoo more of a right sided player but the squad will be rotated every week . seemingly garner is 1 of these players who runs for 90 mins and is a pure pest to defenders chases every ball and can finish he needs to be played through the middle IMO.

16 Aug 2016 16:27:15
Dodoo should be main striker pick. Depending on opponents and formation supported by Waggy or the new lad.

16 Aug 2016 16:46:38
Garner McKay windass. front 3.

16 Aug 2016 17:15:49
Joe garner will be our number 9 for the next 3 years. A lot of people on here clearly haven't seen this boy play. He is a proper striker, 2 footed, great in the air for a guy of his height and superb work rate. The thing i like most about him though is that he has a bit of needle about him. Might get himself into trouble now and then but fans will be in no doubt that he's a winner and 100% committed. Mark my words. this is our best acquisition of the summer.

16 Aug 2016 17:23:23
I personally think windass would b better used as the furthest forward midfielder with garner cf and mckay and waggy each side. barton and rossiter protecting the back 4 because by god they need it.

Do not need to see Garner play - MW has done so that is good enough for me.

My opinion will then be based on what he does at RFC.

16 Aug 2016 15:16:27
are there no any younger centre halfs around that we can snap up----sanderos and lescott are over the HILL if you pardon the pun.

16 Aug 2016 14:21:03
Surely there is a better (younger ) CB out there we can offer a wage to than joleon lescott he's woeful saw him a few times over the yrs and he is dreadfull and i bet he will be on decent money . imo i wouldn't waste what little money we have on lescott.

16 Aug 2016 15:14:59
any truth in this and Warburtons taste is in his arse.

16 Aug 2016 15:56:16
Iv been critical of several of our transfers - but we need to strengthen at CB and if Warburton thinks he can get lescott fit, confident and committed then it has my backing.

16 Aug 2016 17:03:26
So if Warburton can get him fit, committed and confident it doesn't have your backing?

Why exactly? Please enlighten me.

16 Aug 2016 18:03:58
Enlighten you? At what part of the post did i say i wouldn't back him? I back anybody that wears that blue jersey doesn't stop me having an opinion and i feel we could get someone younger with sell on value for money we would pay lescott.

16 Aug 2016 13:31:40
After seeing Barton played out of position because of rossiter a don't see him having a positive impact on our midfield. to me he looks as quick as krancjar think both Halliday and holt also crooks t come in to contention would offer more than Barton in a 3.Joey might have his work cut out this season time will tell.

16 Aug 2016 13:57:11
No chance Barton will be dropped.

16 Aug 2016 14:01:42
I thought barton played well on sat he strolled through game ( dundee goal aside )

16 Aug 2016 14:04:09
what are you talking about? he's a central midfielder and that's where he's playing, crooks and holt are going to have a harder job than anyone trying to get into our midfield.

16 Aug 2016 14:27:31
A was lead t beleive he had reinvented himself as a sitter due 2 age if am wrong fair enuff.

16 Aug 2016 19:08:03
Barton will be a mainstay along with Rossiter leaving 1 more place to b taken by windass imo. he would give us drive, pace and goals which i don't think niko will.

16 Aug 2016 12:32:52
I would just like to thank Dave king and the board for bring our club back to where it belongs. He has came up trumps with backing MW and DW. We have signed some quality players that will hopefully allow us to challenge the unclean for the title. However I will be happy with a euro spot and possibly one of the cups this season it's our first year back at the top and will take a good few months for this team to bed in and learn each other strengths and weaknesses. King has stated that he will continue to support new signing throughout this window and next I see a lot of negative posts on here about kings spending and there being no money. I would just like to ask my fellow bears to remember the standard of player and play pre king and back them all the way to the title either this year or next.

16 Aug 2016 12:52:05
I agree with most of your post however I can't say I'd be happy with just a European place. No Rangers fan should be happy at finishing behind Celtic or any other team in Scotland.

16 Aug 2016 15:13:55
look let's be realistic. if we win the league it will be a shock i'm not saying I would be happy with second but we are not anywhere near done in the rebuild of our great team and think it will take us till at least next season to be real contenders.

the only reason I say this is because our weakest part of the team last season was the defence and the strongest our midfield so when warbs decided to strengthen the midfield first I was like oka but then it was a striker in dodo now garner I think the place he is trying to fill in last is the place that was needing fixed first .

all managers should know to build from the back no matter your style of play and I think warbs made a mistake in not concentrating on the weakest part of our team.

that being said I think that he done a great job in the signings that he has made and deserves credit for that but defence should have been the priority.

16 Aug 2016 08:55:28
Lescott being freed by villa. Maybe worth a punt. Not sure how old he is.

16 Aug 2016 09:18:21
Lescott is 34 mate, could do well up here I think.

16 Aug 2016 11:04:03
Please no. He's ridiculously slow, rubbish with the ball at his feet, prone to big mistakes and own goals and has a questionable attitude.

16 Aug 2016 12:28:50
C, mon it's the Scottish Premiership, lescott would stroll it up here.

16 Aug 2016 14:21:35
Could be too distracted with his fashion business he is in with his family.

16 Aug 2016 08:40:39
Just read that Preston have accepted the bid from Rangers but want Garner to play against Derby, what's that about? i know he's still their player, Grayson has already said he won't stand in any players way but surely he needs to complete a medical with us and then sign on, they're taking a gamble if they do play him because he could get injured or have a shocker of a game, putting the transfer in doubt.

On another note, has anyone else noticed, when you're watching sky sports news, when it gets near to the SPFL news, it goes into an advert, meaning you have to wait for a while again to find out the Scottish news, this happens 9 out of 10 times, just saying lol.

16 Aug 2016 09:04:54
Have noticed that on sky sports news
for years they do it all the time annoying.

16 Aug 2016 10:56:14
Haha thank God other people noticed this, it's been doing my nut in for ages!

16 Aug 2016 15:16:26
that's because noboby cares about us :- (

16 Aug 2016 20:19:58
Stuz: Don't yhink he is playing tonight, that's just the record giving that as a possibility, he'll be up for the medical.

16 Aug 2016 07:47:58
See some of us getting hot under the collar on Kenny Shiels comment. Hate to be controversial but I think there is an element of truth here. We have been found out to done extent when our passing game is not firing on all cylinders and need an alternative to Plan A other than "do plan A better". Only last week we discussed Dodoo on this forum and that his pace up front provides an alternative and we can deploy balls over the top as an alternative option, and this will make us less predictable. Notice in the last couple of games we have taken more long corners and have scored with header.

16 Aug 2016 09:12:39
we can't get balls over the top because teams sit on there box.

16 Aug 2016 12:03:22
Shields is a d1ck, however he does have a point, teams in the lower leagues sussed us out a long time ago.
It may have been mentioned on here before by others!

So looks like Garmer is going to be our new striker. I'm not going to judge, until I see him on the pitch for us (hopefully he bangs in the goals) anyway moving away from the strikers what about defenders? I heard Senderos is training with us at the moment but is there anyone else out there who we could poetically go for.?

16 Aug 2016 00:09:09
I would try and answer but I rhyme like a crime.

16 Aug 2016 00:10:19
Potentially *.
