Can anyone confirm when the rangers v st johnston tickets go on dale?

17 Jan 2017 10:42:35
The official website is the place to check.

16 Jan 2017 19:12:50
Does anyone think C Berra and A Considine would be good additions? Better defenders than what we have with exception of maybe Hill and both players are in last 6 months of contracts I believe so no huge transfer. Considine I like as he can provide better LB cover than Wilson.

I also think Hayes for 500k sounds a decent deal he has caused us and Celtic problems.

The loan signings might help us get 2nd but Does anyone know if either would be available to sign on perm deal after loans?

16 Jan 2017 19:50:38
agree with berra mate 100% but considine your having a laugh not any better than what we have would take big hill all day before him and as for hayes for 500 000 no chance we don't have the money and the shhep have already turned down the same offer from cardif

16 Jan 2017 20:48:26
Berra would be a good acquisition. He is better than what we currently have!

16 Jan 2017 21:09:34
Id take Berra. Seems to have really developed over the last couple of seasons. Seems pretty solid and dependable and 29 is prime for a cb

16 Jan 2017 22:38:36
Big Davy says we don't need defenders were fine in an interview today.
Must look a whole lot different from the touch line! It not ever becoming laughable it Dire!

16 Jan 2017 23:11:59
I think Berra would be a fantastic signing but again I would worry due to the system and if he could cope with basically having not much in the way of further cover defensively with the tactics we play. Considine for me would seem like the sort of signing we would make if we were still in the lower leagues under McCoist so not for me with that one.

17 Jan 2017 00:17:01
We could offer MOH for Hayes lol I am joking. sort of

17 Jan 2017 07:50:51
Johnny Hayes. No thank you! MOH was a proven SPL player and look at him now. Guys like Hayes and O'halloran are just not good enough to push us on. I'd seriously rather take a loan from England than waste money on Hayes.

17 Jan 2017 13:22:17
Christophe berra is 31 years old, huey!

17 Jan 2017 15:43:29
huey, Berra will be 32 on 31st Jan, so don't know where you got 29 from?

16 Jan 2017 18:48:32
Why would the lad gilmour reject £10.000 a week at chelsea seriously think about it if he stayed with rangers he won't even earn that even after a few seasons in the first team wich is far from gaurntueed to happen sure if he goes to chelsea he might be farmed out on loan for years on end but still be earning more than he would be at the peak of his rangers career

16 Jan 2017 21:00:54
Is it a bad thing he knocked back that kinda money no doubt house for family as well, i'd call that amazing if true and a screwed on head with good advice unless chelski are going to loan him back remember the boy is only 15

17 Jan 2017 12:03:33
Maybe the boy wants to develop 1st and is more interrsted in playing rather than money he's a young lad and he has plenty time to make money if he's good enough

16 Jan 2017 18:20:06
Warburton and weir are clearly out their depth at this level. I have been saying that since the end of last season. Warburton is a good championship manager at best. Poor signings shocking defensively cannot defend set pieces outfought against hearts at tynecastle and other games senderos tavernier at right back rob kiernan. The list of failings could go on and on

16 Jan 2017 19:00:18
We outfought and out played hearts and Aberdeen at Ibrox. Why don't you mention that. This site should be renamed Rangersmoaners. co. uk

16 Jan 2017 19:12:59
It gets tiresome all the moaning

16 Jan 2017 19:14:18
@kpblue - it suits there own agenda to mention the negatives

16 Jan 2017 19:25:37
Union Jack

What is the agenda?

16 Jan 2017 19:39:13
It's easy to sit and moan about everything - most of them are living in LaLa land dreaming about past glories.

I haven't seen any of them come up with a sensible, workable or feasible plan that would improve our situation in the short term.

To suggest that DK and the other board members are not exploring every avenue to sort out the mess (financial, Ashley and the other shareholders) and therefore improve the on pitch situation is a joke.

Thee is no money to be got until the shareholding and court issues are resolved.

5 year plan, building from the bottom to ensure a secure footing for the future. that's what they promised and it appears to me that we are on track.

16 Jan 2017 19:54:11
Steviec your saying mw and dw are out of there depth. They're sitting second in lge. You honestly didn't expect us to win lge this year so what more can they do.

16 Jan 2017 20:15:02
BR65

What are you talking about a 5 year plan is on schedule? Where is your evidence of this? People are on here to express their opinions and it seems that there are some people who can't take it when the team or manager are criticised. Think most peoples gripe with DK is that he promised to put £30m in and there would be more clarity from the boardroom so far this hasn't happened. It also doesn't help when he is so far away. Can't remember anyone on here having a go about the board not trying to get fresh investment and if it hadn't been for a ex manager the board would have been able to get further investmebt

16 Jan 2017 22:19:05
If there is a five year plan when did it kick in? Was this 18 months ago? If so then I would suggest that Warburton is progressing relatively well considering that he has had little of the promised investment from King and he has been unlucky with injuries to what would have been potentially key players, (Rossiter, WIndass and Krancjar), and possibly even Crooks.

We have to assume that when he initially brought in players, having taken the poison chalice of totally rebuilding a Rangers team that had been totally destroyed by McCoist and McDowall that many of those players arriving were seen as short term, capable of taking us to the Premier League but no further. The afore mentioned were surely assumed to be capable taking us to the next level with players like Holt and Halliday having to settle for a squad role or moving on.

Alas the injuries scuppered this!

I have not included Barton because I am not convinced that Barton was a Warburton signing, more likely he was a King signing, ( a relatively inexpensive way of making a marquee signing but a risk that ultimately failed)!

The end of this season will be a good time to make a more informed decision as to whether matters are moving in the right direction. In the case of the manager he needs to deliver second place and secure a good cup run. Yes, he could do with one or two more signings, especially is Rossiter is to be out of action after the winter shutdown, but he can only do this with funding being made available.

As for King, he has made promises that personal investment will be made available to support Warburton should we secure European Football. That is the time to judge him. In the interim, we just need to live in hope that some of players start performing with their feet as well as they perform with their mouth!

One final point and it was well put by Stewie25, if it hadn't been for an ex-manager, (and we all know who that was), the Board would have been in a position to secure further investment!

17 Jan 2017 07:18:46
Bottom line is we are no better a team this season than we were last season. Who's fault is that. No one expected us to challenge but we wanted signs of improvement on the field.

What is the 5 year plan? To sort out our shocking defense in 5 years. To stop playing Halliday in DM after 5 years?

There have been a lot of mistakes made this season by the management because of shear stubbornness and burying our heads in the sand and saying how bad we were a few seasons back is not going to help.

Please stop saying we are currently 2nd! The sheep have a game in hand and can go above us on a fraction of our budget. Will it still be so rosey if they win their game in hand and we're actually 3rd?

17 Jan 2017 10:00:20
@stewie25 - I'm talking about the continual moaning about individual results rather than take the season as a whole. We are currently 2nd behind a Celtic side that is miles better than the rest of us. Can anyone hand on heart say they expected us to be competing for the title this season? Yes the points gap isn't good enough but we have something to build on rather than listen to Walter Smith etc saying we need to gamble financially to compete. Look where the scatter cash attitude has gotten us before. We don't have a God given right to win every game and as fans we sometimes expect to much. Let's be realistic and evaluate at the end of the season.

17 Jan 2017 12:21:25
Lets get this going here to all the constant negative posters on here, who can't see, or to put it another way, don't want to see where we are as a football club right now! None of us likes where we are just now but its going to take TIME to fully rebuild our football club (several years)! We've no investment coming in just now and until this DK V MA fight is resolved then we are not going to get major investment! A message to the constant moaning supporters, ie. 'the warburton out campaigners', who do you want to replace warburton as the new rangers manager? Being realistic and remembering there's next to no money to spend? Someone mentioned it above! Stop living on past glories and start supporting the rebuild of our full club to get back to achieving new glories! Just like we once had before!

17 Jan 2017 13:45:36
Steviec, stewie25,one of you saying warbs and weir are out their depth which imo is utter tosh! The other one of you saying about when this 5 year plan is about to start! There isn't one of you, who is privy in knowing what work is being done, within our youth academy, for the great benefit of our club, in the future, me included! Systems being put in place all the way through, changing our youth players, ie. letting players go that don't fit their philosophy and style and replacing them with youth players that they think will fit their style, with developing them! Doing all this of course is going to take time (ie. the 5 year plan etc), hopefully sooner! Just look at southampton's youth academy now! They done exactly what warbs, weir, mulholland, murty and mcparland are doing now and its now regarded one of the very best youth development academies in europe, FACT!

Warburton has often stated this and uses the Southampton academy as his example! There's without question a helluva lot of hard work being done behind the scenes, that we're not seeing just now, but will in the wholeness of time! I've said it on here before and i'll say it again. We all as 'gers fans, WON'T see the full extent of warburton's work, to once he's probably left our club! The next manager that follows warburton at ibrox will be left a football club (in the playing side), in a very healthy state, and an infrastructure to be proud of, with the hard work over the several years, that our management team and our academy coaches, have put in! Our next manager will come into a club that's modern and totally rebuilt, ALL the way through. He will bear the fruits of warburton's hard labour! TIME my friends, especially where we've been and come from! At least try and understand stand what my post is saying!

Anybody know when the rangers v st johnstone tickets go on sale?

16 Jan 2017 16:37:50

16 Jan 2017 18:17:11
Yes for march first fixure

17 Jan 2017 08:30:36
Im not certain but I would say maybe 2 weeks before?

16 Jan 2017 11:06:44
Not a conspiracy theorist by nature but find it strange Red Bull are linked with investing or buying us and we have a friendly with RB Leipzig. I can't see RB investing without full control and find it hard to believe our current board would just walk away.
We need a fans rep. on the board the heralded transparency is looking pretty blurred to me right now.

I see only positives, for us, from Red Bull investment Ashley's millions will not phase them. It's not like I want to see huge investment in the team. Would much prefer to see a progressive improvement with investment in youth. Surely the odd £1 million pound player ain't to much to ask for.

Don't get me wrong second in the league was what I hoped for, though much closer to Celtic, well DK said he would invest more if we made Europe let's see.

16 Jan 2017 11:20:42
This rumour only materialised when the fixture was announced. No the other way about. I'd be very surprised if Red Bull invested in a business model where they'll see no financial returns from either European football or merchandising.

16 Jan 2017 12:19:23
There must be somthing in it somewhere, there is something in it advertising for red bull, can't see them wanting to get too heavily involved although we can dream

16 Jan 2017 12:19:23

16 Jan 2017 12:55:28
YOu do realise RB Rangers will be a brand new club no history no titles start from scratch . because that's the way red bull want to work it. as i understand it. but may be wrong

16 Jan 2017 18:22:30
@blue Pete - I think the RB link is wishful thinking. Can't see it myself

17 Jan 2017 03:49:17
You can't just erase a clubs history and start from scratch. If that was the case and they wanted us to start as a new club then surely it would be back to the 3rd div if we get a license to play as new club. It would be like any other takeover johny G, history, team, club, stadium the same, just a new owner and board.

16 Jan 2017 09:54:05
I know our 3 centrebacks aren't the greatest, and Hill isn't getting any younger. Michael Mancienne, his contract is out in the summer, we could get him for free, he is quick and quite a good defender, I reckon this is one player we really should be going for.

16 Jan 2017 12:02:32
Couldn't afford him, he gets 20k a week basic, probably wants more plus signing on fee etc not to mention agents fee. None starter

16 Jan 2017 12:26:21
I can't find a thing on his wage. From what I know of, Nottingham Forest have a wage bill of around £26mil, that is for all staff (196 in total) So I don't see one player earning close to a 26th of the total wage budget, considering there is still another 195 people to pay.

17 Jan 2017 13:52:52
How do people know what players earn? Unless you are the agent, payroll employee, taxman, club owner, partner of player, then stop spouting nonsense.

16 Jan 2017 06:19:23
totaly agree with supercooper11, the boy lindsay from partick would walk into our defence. would be good to get him now play him beside big clint and if its a 3 at the back play either the big ginger one or wilson.

16 Jan 2017 01:01:15
The defence is a shambles!
The squad are totally unfit!
The management tactics are schoolboy stuff
How can you bring in OAPs yet not give youth a chance
Barton was a classic example why was that situation allowed?
So many below average players have been brought in! Surely 4 good players would have been better than 14
John Terry
Frank Lampard
De Boer
A top pro is required as new manager!

16 Jan 2017 07:47:01
A top pro with no experience? Defence isn't the greatest but it's hardly the most of our troubles have you seen our attack? Naw because their isn't one.

16 Jan 2017 09:53:06
A top pro with no experience - you mean like Souness?

16 Jan 2017 10:07:23
Have you seen our holding midfield, it would be pretty difficult since we don't have one! One has just gone on loan to Scunthorpe and the other has been injured almost since the day he arrived and despite being told a month ago that he would be fit in two weeks Rossiter is no where to be seen!

We are left with a haphazard holding midfield player that lacks guile, has a poor record of completed passes, (and many of the passes retrieved by the intended recipient has to put himself at risk because the pass is generally too short) .

In such circumstances it is difficult to be overly critical of the defence when they are offered absolutely no support by that particular aspect of their midfield and just to add insult we give the ball away far too much in that area. So while I can agree that our attack is not scoring goals we need to sort out our midfield as the major priority.

16 Jan 2017 10:04:58
You build from the back when you start a rebuild. Any decent manager knows this, yet we still have no spine as we enter the 4th transfer window.

16 Jan 2017 10:08:17
Here's a centre half we should most definitely be moving to sign on a pre-contract, this month for next season, christophe berra! He's out of contract with ipswich town at the end of the season. He seemingly now wants to come back to scotland, with his former club hearts, showing a keen interest in signing him.

Surely we've got to make a move to try and sign berra. He's got attributes that we're crying out for just now. He has pace, very good in the air, decent passer, strong in the challenge, he's still only 31 years old which is fine for a centre half. Now the subject of goalscoring strikers. Why do we not make a move to sign bristol rovers prolific striker, matt taylor?

IMO he would solve our goalscoring problems if we could sign him. Another striker who is scoring for fun is grimsby town striker omar bogle. Really worth taking a look at this big robust striker! He has plenty to offer and the same as matt taylor, he most certainly knows where the goals are! Fellow bears, what do we think?

16 Jan 2017 12:21:16
Really like Matt Taylor looks a good player. Read somewhere he's got a million pound buy out clause so don't know if that rules us out.

16 Jan 2017 12:21:16

16 Jan 2017 22:27:30
A lot of the UK press are quoting that he is available for 'just under £1m'. That being the case Matt Taylor would be an excellent signing if we were capable of finding the funds for his signature.

17 Jan 2017 13:59:14
Jaws, know who matt taylor reminds me of. Ex celtic striker gary hooper! That'll do for me!
