Some good post lads and some decent points . Its not been a great start but the standard of player we now have is the best in 5 years and I believe a good standard for the spl overall. I hope the manager is the right person but if not I have no doubt with the right manger in charge this squad would be easily be at least 2nd and challenge celtic. Remember we are always improving regardless to what the media say . I do agree we need a new goalkeeper. I would like to see Alwick be given a chance . If not sign someone. We will all know by the end of August what kind of season we are going to have . let's hope its a good one!

The quality of posts has dropped off a cliff since we were dumped out of Europe by a team no one has ever heard of. I'd like the club to be headline news for the signing of Jamie Walker and other news of the offloading of the players we have who we all know their time is up. I reckon at least five.

We are all saying wait for Dorrans and Alves. Dorrans can't get into the Scotland team and he is okay at best. He is not the quality we are looking at surely. Alves will have the same capacity as big Clint Hill. Would have loved to have seen the two of them at the back but nope. Pedro never wanted the best player we had last season. I think Alves will endure the same problems as Clint. Will try his heart out but there is nothing he will be able to do with the dross around him. I hate to say this but I actually think Aberdeen and His have recruited far better than what we have.

Dorrans is a great signing for the gers big alves I think will become the new captain the big man is class I'm also sure that they will sign walker from the jam tarts in the next couple of days

Here we go again, the Weiss stuff is starting. For the record though, anyone who says they don't want him mustn't have seen our Euro qualifier or mustn't understand football. He would do a job for us, Barry leaving leaves a gap on the wing, Dalcio doesn't look a winger to be honest, Weiss is a more mature player now with plenty of international experience he would enhance our squad.

Stay positive Bears. Bruno and Dorrans are 2 totally peach signings and the trolls know it. I'm sure that these guys will push us forward. don't fall for the negative postings that they put up under FAKE names hoping that we get wound up.

Totally agree with your post however I'm very concerned about a lack of goal threat up front. Miller is now 37 and was never a consistent scorer, Waghorn is useless, Herrera hasn't been a proven goal scorer during this career and Morelos will need time to adjust to Scottish football. Would love to see Waghorn go and Moult come in. Proven goal scorer in the league and a guy who gave Celtic a few problems last season

I think Rangers have concluded their business early with some decent signings. Celtic are a bit behind, however I think they are in a better position in that they are building from a position of strength by significantly reducing the squad capacity, keeping the core and adding quality players in key positions. Rangers are once again rebuilding, which is why results like the Europa qualifier happen, they are in transition, although they should probably not have lost that qualifier! In any event, it promises to be an interesting season ahead.

Agree that Fod is at best an average keeper, what about Zander Clark from St Johnstone.
Big lad, commands his area well, decent keeper, some stand out performances last season. particularly against Celtic and Aberdeen and a blue nose to boot

If I were Pedro I'd get rid of Michael O'Halloran and Martyn Waghorn both for around 500k and get both Jamie Walker and Louis Moult in for around 1.3m Proven winger and goalscorer as just now we can't truly say that we have signed good quality forwards As it stands, a 37yo is putting all the other strikers to shame

I do hope we get Jamie Walker but don't understand why some come on here abd say just pay the asking price because the boy is in tge last year of his contractand if we don't get him then there will be others but i for one am glad the the club are no longer letteninf themselves be held to ransom as the price always goes up for players from other scottish clubs when it's rangers that want to buy i have seen rangers offer more or equal to otger clubs and still not get a player as the other scottish clubs just don't want to sell to us unless they can screw every brown penny they can out of us as it has been said before if the boy wants to come to rangers then we can get him on a pre contract in January just because we don't just pay what the other club want doesn't mean the player isn't worth the money or isn't rated by or managment team it all about getting the best deal for our club as it takes me back to wgen we were trying to get Duncan Ferguson from dundee united he wanted to come but DU downright refused to sell until we offered so much money they couldn't refuse £4m which was the british record fee back then and what a waste of money that was he just didn't fit into the team.

He is worth 1m+ but as you say can be signed for free in 6 months. Its a tough call. He would certainly improve our team now.

At £1m he is a steal and we will make a healthy profit down the line.
