Delighted with the managerial appointment to be honest! I'm not claiming to know much about PC but on first impression he seems to have the qualities MW lacked, for example the sense to scout opponents, adapt, and an understanding that players need to be both physically and mentally strong to get us where we need to be! I also think that he's a stronger character and hopefully his team can discover the fire and passion that W and W sadly were unable to get from the squad!

Personally I liked Warburton and would take the opportunity to thank him for his positive philosophies on football and I believe some things he implemented will benefit us in the future! He was however out of his depth and was time for him to go!

Looking forward to seeing what PW has in store for us. Onward and upwards!

A very positive post and why not? I think the board has been brave and it's a position I back but a lot of fans will need to take their head out of the sand when they say they want the club back at the top. We've had 'in Warbs we trust', 'Sir Davie' and now 'King Kenny' but to really haul our way above Celtic we need a lot of personnel changes and sentimentality can play no part. Players getting too old and players better suited to a Doncaster Rovers aren't going to threaten Celtic no matter how much we like them. Look at Monaco's budget against Man City, it can be done, we can win take the league off Celtic next season with the right players. Ferguson and Aberdeen spring to mind.

RFCInfinity

You should also thank him for trying to negotiate his way out of the club and being a snake

16 Mar 2017 23:56:37
All hype. Wait and see what he does over the next 6 games then see how optimistic everyone is then

17 Mar 2017 06:55:44
Over the next 6 games? Is that all he is getting from you? Abit unfair. He will need time, he can't suddenly take over a squad which is probably sub standard and turn it around instantly. He gets until the first 6 games of NEXT season surely? No faith as a lot of people have written him off already. Seems like a decent coach and training seems more intense already. Saying things like that is beyond belief.

Leven Lad

I think a lot of people are sceptical as he isn't someone that we know a lot about. Yeah it will take time however if things didn't go right in the first half dozen games then he would be under pressure. Not saying he would be sacked as you say that would be ludicrous but there is no denying when managing our club if you don't start well questions will be asked

17 Mar 2017 11:22:52
Its an exciting time with having a new manager and what not but the real time to judge will be next season when he brings a couple of his own players in and gets his ways and methods implemented. we can't judge too much on the next 6 games win or lose. that's our problem bears, we get over excited when we win then we want rid of a manager when he loses a couple of games. give the guy time and hopefully he's a success

17 Mar 2017 11:23:19
Well said Leven Lad, i've just written a post on that. give the man time to get his own ideas across. the players are getting used to him and vice versa.

17 Mar 2017 11:32:44
He seems to be tactically aware which is a good sign and was clearly one of our weaknesses. Murty appliying some tactical awareness in the team for the old firm shows we are not as weak as we think defensively when we are not exposed constantly. I think Caxinha will keep doing things that way and not just ignore the oppositions threats like our previous management.

I know what you mean though and a good start will stand him in good stead, so I hope he can walk the walk since he seems to know how to talk the talk. I refuse to write him off until he gets the time he deserves though.

19 Mar 2017 01:14:49
TBF I have a friend who played against Rangers in a friendly when Warbs first took over and he actually tweeted " my god, those guys could meg a mermaid"

As bitter as the end was I can fortunately remember the change that Warbs brought to our team! and I for 1 am glad to aknowledge that

16 Mar 2017 10:21:51
What you think guys., That loaf of bread will come in and buy.

FOD
Kerian
Wilson
Garner
Tav - well depends where Pedro plays him.
Waghorn
Windass ( although looks ok at times )

I say give us £6-7m get them off the books and start a fresh.

One player Pedro should try and keep at the club is Hyndman.

Thoughts guys?

16 Mar 2017 10:36:48
I would genuinely keep a good few of those on your list.

Fod has played well. Just dint feel confortable with playing out from the back but brilliant shot-stopper

Wilson is a good player just needs a bit of experience beside him as seen when he has hill alongside

Garner can mix it up upfront and puts himself on the line. Just need a peoper goalscorer to compliment him. Kinda like a hateley mccoist partnership

Waghorn gives the same effort as kenny does and we know we need to replace the king pretty soon

Windass needs a run of games to get confidence and i think he would be a star

16 Mar 2017 11:44:43
yippee football manager time.

MW may buy players (doubtful but you never know) but any cash you recieve will be handed back to the 3 who yous sacked in court.

16 Mar 2017 12:34:50
Fifaguy Do you honestly think the bread man's gony through you lot a penny after the way it ended for him! Lol the whole delusional thing comes to mind 😂😂😂

16 Mar 2017 14:49:00
Seeing as McParland can only scout players out of his phone contacts then I don't think they have much choice sandyboy 😂

16 Mar 2017 21:43:20
I would definitely keep Joe Garner. I do really rate him, although I don't understand why Warburton signed him. He doesn't suit Warburton's style of play. Garner thrive's on long balls and crosses into the box as he wins 90% of headers. Even tho he is quite small. Warburtons teams never cross regularly or play long balls and always short corners so the Garner signing baffled me. I think we will see the best of him next season. 🔴⚪🔵

16 Mar 2017 23:13:16
Our best player has been fod, Wilson is our best defender, windass looks good and garner is a descent player

Get rid of kiernan, hill, tav, Hodson, forrester, dodoo, miller.

16 Mar 2017 23:17:34
Keirnan and Wilson can go now. Fod? He was once again top drawer v celtic. Must stay. The rest should be given chance by new manager. They all have ability but have been misused

16 Mar 2017 23:29:15
kaney their agent handed in notices for them and now that they are at the club they where leaving for the won't have a case in court. but u keep wishing for the worst to happen to rangers little man but guess what it already did happen to us and now we are coming to reclaim that which is rightfully ours (legaue title #55)

16 Mar 2017 23:19:17
Forrest have as much money to spend as Rangers, there is no chance unless it's for free

17 Mar 2017 11:24:43
I don't get all the negativity surrounding Fod, for me he's saved us a few doings this yr with some wonderful saves. i think our problem is that we've always had great GKs like goram, woods, mcgregor, klos etc and we always compare to these guys.

16 Mar 2017 07:44:51
Davie Weir is a bit of a lap dog is he not.
Warburton says"here boy, here boy" and he comes running with with his tail wagging. Lol.

16 Mar 2017 08:13:15
what makes you say that?

16 Mar 2017 13:47:16
Bit like a lot of rangers fans when whyte, green, ashley and now king say they have rangers at heart. I know some fans that believed all 4. Ha. Big davie is more of a rangers legend than any of these plums.

16 Mar 2017 13:48:04
lol definitely

16 Mar 2017 21:46:06
I honestly don't recall any Rangers fans being happy about Ashley being involved at Ibrox. His track record at Newcastle was poor and everyone knows it's all about himself and how much money he can make

16 Mar 2017 22:44:14
Just think for a minute lvlarkGraham, and you'll realise why yogibear72, rightly said that about davie weir! He's at aston villa for 2 seconds and warburton clicks his fingers and he comes running for his treat! Both warburton and weir have disappointed me greatly with their fly behind the scenes actions! But i have to say i'm more disappointed, with the so called dyed in the wool, rangers man, davie weir, for his actions! let's forget these 2 parasites, and move on fellow bears! We don't need their sort anywhere near our great club! We've got our new manager pedro caixinha to get behind and hopefully get us challenging that mob in the eastend, for the premiership league title! Onwards and upwards, fellow bears! let's make pedro feel welcome and part of the great rangers family!

16 Mar 2017 23:20:29
Weir and warburton were hung out to dry by king

17 Mar 2017 05:54:29
Memaself - rightlt so he has been hung out to dry. relations between mw and dk broke down around barton saga. We all agree the way warbs dealt with it was shocking and imo he left barton out to dry. and by kings absence and silence he also agreed imo. Now he joins the club he said was not true smells of rancid bullshit. Well down dk for doing the right thing.

17 Mar 2017 11:26:32
Your right, king hanged them out to dry 100% and he was right to do so. They didn't want to be here so they can gtf.

16 Mar 2017 01:20:10
Thinking about an assistant for the new manager, someone with a good history of the Scottish game and a well respected coach who is currently doing well.
Jim Duffy what do you think? Personally the idea of Ferguson, Rae and McCulloch doesn't feel right, McCann comes across well on the tele but can he coach?

16 Mar 2017 09:47:36
Duffy would be an excellent appointment, he knows the Scottish game and has been involved in it for ages, he's also worked wonders at Morton. He won't be considered tho due to not being a "Rangers man".
I'm expecting him to bring in his own trusted no2 and give Kenny Miller a bigger part to play in first team coaching. He'd be the players choice.

16 Mar 2017 13:48:37
Why would neil mccann want to take the job? Sky pays good easy money.

16 Mar 2017 14:46:58
As a Morton fan I would be devastated if Duffy went to Rangers. But he would be an unbelievably good appointment.

16 Mar 2017 22:48:50
Brummie bear, according to the sun newspaper this morning, kenny miller is the clear favourite to become caixinha's no.3!Very good choice IMHO! When you think about it, a no brainer really! Kenny ticks EVERY box for me! As i've said on here many times, kenny miller IS a future glasgow rangers manager, in my eyes! Thoughts fellow bears?

16 Mar 2017 23:28:37
yeah agreed brummie - big Duffs a good call for assistant. I suggested Peter Houston but in terms of experience and 'local knowledge' he'd be a great shout regardless of his sellic connections

16 Mar 2017 23:30:01
duffy would have made a good manager but doubt he would want a little role like that

16 Mar 2017 00:16:26
Who do you all think pedro caixinha will bring in, in the summer if he gets some decent funds? Who would use want to see come to ibrox.

And who do you think he will get rid of?

16 Mar 2017 08:15:00
The African guy at CB and hopefully Weiss

Id go for a GK as I don't rate fod
Bring back gasparotto

Start using dodoo

16 Mar 2017 08:16:50
to go list

fod
Kiernan
senderos
crooks
garner
waghorn

waghorn I would keep as a squad plaer but he probably wouldn't want that so just let him go

16 Mar 2017 10:30:20
Whats everyones reasons for not rating Fod? The guy has pulled off some outstanding saves this year to keep us in games and most recently on Sunday at the piggery. I agree sometimes your heart is in your mouth when he has the ball at his feet but apart from that he is a steady keeper and not a lot of the goals have been his fault. Its the defence over and over again.

16 Mar 2017 14:50:04
Agreed, GRC83. Fod has looked more than capable with arguably our worst ever defence in front of him. Imagine how much better he can look with a solid defence in front of him!

16 Mar 2017 19:19:44
I would expect the manager to assess the players he has over the rest of the season before making a decision. The players might respond better to him than they did to Warburton. That said he needs to strengthen his defence, he needs a leader and he needs some real quality. Hyndman and three others if the Board are ambitious, otherwise we will struggle

16 Mar 2017 20:30:34
This is the problem will he get decent funds to spend on players.
personally i would like to either have cummings from hibs or jonny russel playing upfront for us next season one of these would give us that bit extra upfront that we lack

16 Mar 2017 23:31:06
got to agree GRC83 fod is a really good shot stopper and yes he has made a few blunders but most of the goals we have let in due to poor defending and the keeper hasn't had a chance i would tell him not to come out his box though as that's twice I've seen him handle it outside the box lol cheeky fella and i'd let garner have a go as long as we get a goal machine to work with him

16 Mar 2017 23:32:24
Personally I'd keep foderingham I think he is probably about the only 1 that has really improved any this season yes he does look a bit scary when he has the ball at his feet but with a better defence in front of him it would make all the difference instead of him being left exposed with about 3 attackers running at him and none of our defenders in sight yes he's made mistakes like any goalkeeper but all in all I think he's a decent keeper, but that's just my opinion on him
