Let's try to be realistic for a minute. Our manager's ability is questionable and he is more than adequately paid for his services, good or bad. In his rolling contract there must be conditions he must meet. If not, and if getting promotion is all he must achieve, he must be laughing all the way to the bank. Surely, all the blinkered ally brigade see that he not where he is on merit, but his use to the spivs they are supposed to despise.

ALLY MCCOIST hopes Barry Ferguson’s legendary status at Rangers isn’t tarnished, pot, kettle, black from the worst manager of the worst team playing the worst football in the history of the club he is running into the ground for personal gain. Has he no shame or did he sell that too!

Believable0 Unbelievable0

Some bitter people about.

Agree0 Disagree0

Aye what he really said was

McCoist is impressed by the 36-year-old’s willingness to start at the bottom of the ladder in senior Scottish football in a bid to work his way up.
He added: “I’ve a lot of respect for Barry. He was a fantastic player for us here and he obviously wants to make a good start to his managerial career.
“He’s obviously had an early taste of things under very difficult circumstances at Blackpool and I admire him for coming up and taking an opportunity at Clyde.
“It’s a chance for him to build his own team there and aside from Monday, I hope it all goes well for him. ”

I think with the lack of jobs going about even in the football world, a young rookie manager will take a start anywhere today. good luck barry!!

Agree0 Disagree0

Smokey, you really need to consider the facts before posting your inane diatribe against the manager of the club you claim to support

Agree0 Disagree0

@4 jonnostb, please enlighten us with these facts that need to be considered.

To all the people on here 2 weeks ago AGAIN giving ally stick for not going for that boy allan that ended up at hibs, that's 3 games they've played already, non-starter! Now a said yeah, he WAS a promising young player, a few years ago, it would've been a gamble to take him up to Ibrox, but the same people on here calling for ally's head for not going for youngsters, and all that guff, ought to calm down, hibs r a decent team, I no that, but people c the facts that he went from dundee utd to westbrom for 3m pound, then c him as a free and he's young, oh ally pounce, geez piece, if he was that great a player, for one, he wouldn't b back up here, and second, a better standard of team would've snapped him up, nothing against the lad, hope he gets back to the way he was, but people on here ought calm down before they speak!

Believable0 Unbelievable0

Sorry I forgot we have such a great midfield. Also can you tell me how many clubs came in for Black?

Agree0 Disagree0

17 Aug 2014 14:43:56
The question is not how good the lad is, it's is he better than much of the dross Ally has brought in and cannot see past?

Agree0 Disagree0

17 Aug 2014 15:27:46
My point exactly! We've already gambled in a lot of crap, so am glad we didn't gamble on him! But because he was young, it was aww ally doesn't go for youngsters! Maybe if somebody would come in for one or 2 players that play because there's no one really out there decent on a free, ally might've let them go, but they didn't, and we haven't got any money, so we're at where we're at!

Agree0 Disagree0

I did not give ally stick for allan because the big time went to his head and his transfer was £400000 not £3m but I give macoist stick for everthing else not signing allan was probably his best decision this year

Colin, Just one question--- who would pay the wages of our players, if anyone was interested?
There are 2 or 3 players with any market value and would interest some clubs. Some of the young lads would find another club, but the bulk are overpaid has beens or never will be players.
The point the majority are trying to get across is the manager is a narrow minded dud[full stop].

Agree0 Disagree0

18 Aug 2014 09:29:26
McCoist does not decide a players wages ,he identifies a player he wants gives name of player to CEO/board and they speak to players agent to thrash out a wage deal.
McCoist only speaks to player to convince him to come & even that happens rarely.

Thought it strange mccoist worrying about the legendary status of Barry Ferguson and the reception he will receive at Ibrox tomorrow night after the the so called booze gate scandal, I shouldn't worry yourself about wee Barry he'll be fine his status is pretty much intact, what you should do is take a long hard look in the mirror and think what am I doing to my legendary status. As a striker there weren't many better, as a manager there aren't to many worse.

Believable0 Unbelievable0

Agree with nearly all of your post however the part about there weren't many better as a striker? Ally was a great striker for Rangers but wasn't a world class striker and there were plenty much better than him who performed on a bigger stage

Agree0 Disagree0

Point taken mate should have read one of the best in the famous blue jersey.

Both r legends! Both rangers greats, loved ferguson as a player, loved his attitude both on the park and off it, regardless what he done, rangers through & through, still is, mcCoist status will NEVER change in my eyes as well, he's not the best of managers, but he's put up with a lot, and he's done up to now what he said he was goney do, get us back to where we belong! The SPL, he's doing that, at this moment, it's not been great, we all no that, but he's only human, his first managerial job, he's a strong minded man with a great mental state, there nights a can't sleep at night with all the crap in the papers, but that guys always the same week in week out day in day out, great mentality! "Wee Barry" a legend?. GTF. I seem to remember Walter Smith showing him the exit door after he embarrassed and let down our once proud institution. Oh and I don't remember him rushing to pay back the £1m EBT. but perhaps I am missing something. Always seemed to me like a player who thought he was better than he actually was. In the late 1990s both Steven Gerrard and BF looked like they had promising careers ahead. Only one of them ever fulfilled their dreaded "potential".

@2
Cheers mate and good post

Agree0 Disagree0

@3

The remit for any Rangers manager is to build a team that is capable I challenging at the top and to improve the team. Are you seriously suggesting Ally has done this? Do you believe we will be able to challenge in the top division?

Agree0 Disagree0

17 Aug 2014 14:52:19
Re 2) here we go again with the old ''he has put up with a lot'' complete BS, you talk as if he did it out of the goodness of his heart for nothing. Re 4)Spot on.

Agree0 Disagree0

Sorry Stewie canny have that. if you took away all ally's goals from 85-90 rangers would have been relegated. consistantly scored 30+ goals a season. yep missed probably more than he scored but what constitutes as world class. in my eyes probably not world class but he was definitely up there. still pis has a manager though.

Agree0 Disagree0

@4 sort yourself out. Fergie was and is a rangers legend. And ebt's were murrys fault, not the players, please understand this!

Agree0 Disagree0

17 Aug 2014 16:55:40
If not players fault? they will all have no problem paying the money back? and help pay the people we are still owe money too.
That would be a good example from our ex players who didn't understand how they were getting paid? although they must have understood that it was a LOAN and as such has to be paid back?

Agree0 Disagree0

@8

Messi, Ronaldo & Suarez to name but 3 world class strikers. Ally couldn't have laced their boots. Agree he was a great player for Rangers however it's all about putting his achievements into perspective

Agree0 Disagree0

N6 stewie we best worry about challenging in the championship first imo

@9, can only assume you are relatively young if you think he is a legend, neither on or off the field can he compare with the wonderful players we have had the privilege to watch on field, and unlike him admire off the park also.

Agree0 Disagree0

@10 the players (or their agents) agreed to a salary of £x,000 per week. Murray operated the EBT to make it cheaper for Rangers to pay the players the £x,000 they were contracted to earn. The 'loans' were not repayable. This is why HMRC closed the loophole.

@9 the legends I've watched at Ibrox. Cooper, McCoist, Gough definitely. Were Hately, Laudrup, Albertz, Numan etc there long enough to be legends? Possibly not. But I class Fergie as a legend, maybe because it's the best we've had for a while, and maybe because of the number of trophies he won as a player/captain. Remember how good he was in Advokaats team? The only thing that let him down was giving the fingers at the Scotland game, which was just daft.

Agree0 Disagree0

Sorry, my last post should have been @13, not @9

Sg75 must agree mate barry ferguson was bossy yep but he gave his all for the jersey and tried to make sure the rest of the team done likewise

Sebastian Faure is our best right back Who is also an accomplished central defender so has to okay. Moshni is our best central back who has to defend and let the play makers do the rest. problem is we lack a play maker. Lewis McLeod May very well be that in time but now his time is as a wide player. remember Durrant playing there. Aird is our most effective attacker who brings others in to play and must start. Wallace must be made captain as mcculloch hangs up his boots

Believable0 Unbelievable0

17 Aug 2014 08:22:25
First positive post for a while - yes why is Faure not being used more at right back may get an outing Tuesday might in cup?

As for Black, Shields & Templeton these three joined us in the "depths" when everyone else was leaving us - show a bit of loyalty now there is room for them in the squad.

Agree0 Disagree0

I like faure as far as mosni goes u must be on something

Agree0 Disagree0

Totally disagree with your points on faure and moshi neither of them are the best or accomplished as you put it. We haven't played the same two central defenders for two games in a row. I forecast on Friday that he would bring back mosh I and play jig in midfield and mcgregor at RB which made us totally immobile but we can all see that but it seems that jig, black or law cannot be dropped unless injured

Agree0 Disagree0

I will put your assessment of faure and moshni down to the two bottles of Buckie you had last night. I've read it all now.

Agree0 Disagree0

17 Aug 2014 10:30:18
Faure, best right bk? Accomplished? Moshni, best? Bombscare I think u ment? Mcloed is wasted out wide. U still up on the bevvy from last night stu??

@4

Totally agree mate both are awful and should be nowhere near the team. How anyone can say there good is beyond me

Gentlemen Gentlemen ---- "control your exuberance" (as the late Frankie Howard would say) -- we have NO accomplished players and the younger members who aspire to these heights will be stifled very soon by the Ibrox scoring legend who is now in his third season of "non football for Ibrox".
We as fans have demonstrated in our own chosen way what we think of the football we play. what we think of the way our club is being run, we have had demonstrations that have been to no avail ---- so what is next gentlemen???
For me and I am only a wee fella with Glasgow Rangers coursing through my veins --- for me I made my decision on what is best for me ---- Mr McCoist you have driven me away from my CLUB -- I will never set a foot inside Ibrox until you and your cohorts have left the building.
This is a sad day but I can not and will not support this man any longer.

Agree0 Disagree0

Kerrymac, you are not alone, this nonsense that it doesn't matter how we play as long as we get back to the SPL makes me sick, in short roll up for three years pay yer money put up with the dross on the park and shut up. Oh an by the way I will patronise you every few weeks and tell you how magnificent you are for putting up with the sh@t on view. My club is a shambles.

Agree0 Disagree0

@7, good post Kerrymac. I have supported the club for 46 years and I also refuse to support ally and will not be setting foot inside Ibrox until changes have been made. This is easily the worst football I have witnessed in these years. Ally is not a manager but the rate he is emptying Ibrox he may well get a job as a steward.

Agree0 Disagree0

{Ed039's Note - I have to agree BV, it is awful, I have been McCoist's biggest critic for a number of years now, time for a change has come and gone and it is too late to get rid now. We will do well to get out of the Championship this year, and its not down to the players, its down to the man selecting the team and confirming the transfers)

I have consistently said I won't go back as long as he is manager I renewed my grandsons tickets but not my own I can only decribe politely as greedy and full of himself and a hopless manager

Agree0 Disagree0

Got to agree with the above comments. i'm not daft enough to think we will ever see players like gazza and laudrup ever wear the blue jersey again. but I do think I'm entitled to see players from our youth academy promoted to the first team in droves. hearts have done it. why haven't we. that is the glaring observation I have made. we have the best youth academy in Scotland and have produced only a handful of players over the last 14years that have been sold for good money. I just cannot watch this any more until ally and his mercineries are removed. I am really sick of repeating myself and reading the same posts over and over again.

Agree0 Disagree0

Agree with all posts RE Ally, can't we sack him for negligence? the world & their dug can see we need a right back but the Super One refuses or is unable to see it. The crowd at the Clyde game will become the norm under his stewardship @10K he really is costing the club money. I'm actually going tonight but just because I'm from Ru'glen and I actually know a couple of Clyde supporters. Not expecting scintillating soccer from Rangers under this manager and it's a cup-tie so anything can happen. How bad is it when Clyde fans can slag me!

Agree0 Disagree0

Agree with all above posts and youngwinston them pals of yours won't be slagging you after tonights game eh lol

Agree0 Disagree0

Tmwtn, no slagging from the lads, they could'nt believe Barry played such an open game, to be honest I think I was more shocked by the score than they were.
