Use our rumours form to send us rangers transfer rumours.

17 Feb 2016 20:42:07
Anybody picked up anything on that mental Killie fan Gordon Sawers canna wait for his rant for last night lol.

18 Feb 2016 08:08:14
His rants are unreal - he nearly bursts a blood vessel trying to get his f*** f*** fff***n words oot.

17 Feb 2016 20:31:27
hardie going out on loan to Raith for a month.

17 Feb 2016 22:13:42
Disgraceful decision, they have slaughtered Rangers on the past, and their fat chairman has attacked out club at every opportunity, I simply cannot stomach this, its not on, we do not want our young players helping a club who, s chairman wanted us destroyed, no no no.

18 Feb 2016 09:39:37
tomtom, its all about the bigger picture, MW is thinking about Hardies development not about their Fat Chairman. don't get bogged down in political BS!

18 Feb 2016 14:18:24
Hope loan goes well for him but this is strange one. If we can't give him game time in championship when our main striker is injured then how does anyone think he will get a chance when we are battling it out next season (hopefully) at a higher level?

Can understand why he can't get starts but we could easily have given him more game time. Coisty would have got pelters for a decision like this.

18 Feb 2016 15:11:35
M3 I am well aware of "bigger pictures" that doesn't mean I have to agree with them, don't expect warns fully realised the depths to which this man went to inflict the maximum damage to Rangers, hardier could have gone anywhere could he not?, politics? No son. blind hatred,

17 Feb 2016 20:18:21
been told if the team gets to SC final they would need to win to get a UEFA place.
regardless if Celtic win the SPFL, And the SC.
Always thought runners up in cup gained entry to Europe if winners were in CL.

{Ed001's Note - rules were changed for this season.}

17 Feb 2016 20:54:09
Cheers Ed. Did`nt know about the rule change.

18 Feb 2016 09:41:23
If we get to the final we will win it hands down! , think it is written for us to win the treble this year, put a marker down and let the manky mob know that we are back. Even better if we got them and beat them in the final, they would surely sack their manager hahahaaha!

18 Feb 2016 14:22:31
Be careful what you wish for- they might end up with a manager that isn't a complete diddy.

I don't share your confidence about our chances against them.

17 Feb 2016 18:58:38
Just watched the highlights there, should kilmarnock of had a penalty?

17 Feb 2016 19:31:11
You've watched the highlights. Make your own mind up.

17 Feb 2016 19:47:41
The man is asking folks opinion. I think he should have shot earlier, PB. The boy got the ball caught under his feet a bit. No penalty.

17 Feb 2016 20:03:37
Miller had a good shout for a pen from ma view.

17 Feb 2016 20:39:13
Aye cheers lads. Thought the same myself sounezz, and yes thought we should have been in with a shout for one. Maybe that was a bit of banter from Campbell seeing as this is the banter page!

17 Feb 2016 21:57:29
We should of had another penalty!

18 Feb 2016 01:30:13
We should HAVE had another penalty, but I think the ref let it go because of the killie penalty appeal, wether it was one or not.

18 Feb 2016 14:24:02
Bigger point here- why wasn't the yellow card brought out for the disgusting display of joy following the winner.

18 Feb 2016 15:16:01
Agreed Luigi, blatant shocking diabolical behaviour, , , and as for that woman behind me who actually shouted, " yesssss"? Were are the polis when you need them?

17 Feb 2016 18:48:51
Hi guys. Can anyone tell me where I can find the match rerun. THANKS.

17 Feb 2016 18:59:46
BBC has highlights and RTV has whole match for subscribers.

17 Feb 2016 17:32:07
Has anyone got news on waggy. to all f××k dundee United and all who put boot into RFC our day is coming fasten your seat belts.

17 Feb 2016 20:49:53
Yeahhhhhhh baby, I'm gloating already, loved thomsons rant against team and mixup pitalinein, now that's sporting integrity, these will no be up for a few years, wheeeeeeee.

17 Feb 2016 22:18:58
Yes, he, s been a very naughty boy?
Mrs Waghorn.

18 Feb 2016 09:04:44
Waghorn has a Knee injury, he was placed on cruches as a precaution, he will undergo a scan but possible tweak, strain or tear of his ACL.

17 Feb 2016 17:29:32
re all the posts about Tarik Fagrach, is it possible to get Chick Young or one of his reporter cronies to ask Warburton outright, did we or didn't we sign the lad?

17 Feb 2016 19:06:46
He nutted Warbs at training!
How many times do I need to tell folk?

17 Feb 2016 22:19:59
Chic young, ? , is hr a specialist Rangers reporter?

17 Feb 2016 07:31:04
Some people need to calm down with the criticism of mw, I totally agree about the corners but it's all that's being posted at the moment. Please mix it up a bit lol.

17 Feb 2016 20:42:09
Get a grip, recently two points have been made about our tactics:-
i] vary the short corner routine.
ii] protect the 2 centre-backs with a deep mid-field player.
In no way was this a criticism of the manager, just how some of us seen options to our current playing system.
Personally, I think it was a reasonable call and has proved to be helpful to our cause.
There have been other suggestions, but surely that is what a banter site is for ----- OPINIONS.

18 Feb 2016 07:33:49
billyb you forgot iii) the change of 2 players on the hour mate.

18 Feb 2016 10:08:01
Soton Bear

I think the hourmark change is and has been a great idea.
Walter and Ally used to change too late, who can contribute to a game with 5 or 10 mins to go?

18 Feb 2016 15:23:28
Ally mcoist? Did it for years mate.

17 Feb 2016 16:12:12
How wonderful it will be when we are being promoted to the SPL this season when Thompson and the **** feeder team are being relegated! Be careful what you wish for and never kick somebody on the way down as they may pass you on the way back up - both spring to mind, looking forward to a splendid gloating session, keep it up United!

17 Feb 2016 17:25:50
Agreed. great to see Thomson the numpty quivering in his interview, having to apologise to fans for the team bein utter useless. agree with 1st post on this topic, can't wait for them to go down as we go up!

17 Feb 2016 19:11:11
The poor man canny sleep at night! Have a bit a compassion. LOL.

17 Feb 2016 20:20:11
I was a bit surprised by his claim that they have 3rd highest spl wage bill. I assume behind the soap dodgers and sheep. Who are they paying all the money to- all the decent players they had are now on Celtics wage bill.

As they say, couldn't happen to a nicer bloke. A real shame. Haha.

18 Feb 2016 15:29:52
And didn't he enjoy our pain, never a wood or the Rangers fans who suffered, not one word, just hate and a deeprooted intent on harm, feel the suffering now Thomson, you SOLD utds players to your real team, and along with your then manager, in a seemingly unexplained manner, IE, the manager got a cut of the proceeds? If that's sporting integrity then I'm a Dutchman

Son Ch'ing wan.

17 Feb 2016 15:08:53
What are the fans opinions on Danny Wilson in recent weeks?

The game against Kilmarnock was a much improved performance from him according to reports from the game.

Is a centre back and a holding midfielder still the main priorities for the summer?

Been hearing Liam Bridcutt is a favourite for the holding midfield role.

Who would be the ideal fit for a first choice centre back?

17 Feb 2016 15:15:49
if we sign bridcutt then where does crook come in? don't get me wrong, very good player too have, but I doubt warbs will want him.

17 Feb 2016 15:18:36
Nemanja vidic! Or big JT,

17 Feb 2016 15:19:00
I agree he's been a lot better in recent games a thought he had a good game last nite.

17 Feb 2016 17:05:06
Thought that corner from wee Barrie was absolutely first class for a fantastic goal .
Said weeks ago we should keep Nicky Clark he has scored some vital goals for us this season .
Really plays for the jersey, well done .

17 Feb 2016 20:55:29
Is bridcutt not a die hard Celtic fan? Besides he must be on a fair wage at Sunderland.

In terms of Wilson I have spoke up a few times as some of criticism has been unfair. Our defensive tactics could make a very good defender look bad at times.

17 Feb 2016 21:46:27
I think he will be on a good wage too luigi am not sure what team he supports but if he can do the business for us a don't mind 1 bit.

17 Feb 2016 22:23:52
When you say " die hard " do you actually mean he supported Celtic as a kid?, or is he a really " die hard" fan, as in he never misses a game, and wouldn't ever play fir another team?

18 Feb 2016 05:53:16
Scott Allan is/ was a "die hard" rangers fan, the point you are making about bridcutt bein a Celtic fan make no difference whatsoever.

17 Feb 2016 15:06:05
with Scottish cup quarter finals on weekend of 5th march, am I safe to assume the hibs game on Monday 7th will be postponed?

17 Feb 2016 15:19:55
Yes getting moved to near the end of season a read somewhere!

17 Feb 2016 18:58:11
I believe the provisional date of the 19th April was set if either or both teams qualified for the quarter finals of the cup on the 5th March -.

17 Feb 2016 14:04:35
Bears take 9000 to an away match

Easter Road Sells out almost, 20,000 at the match, it is good to see that the Championship clubs and supports are showing the rest of Scotland about being loyal to there clubs, supporting them through thick and thin, a can see Rangers and Hibs both Ripping up the Premiership next year, we both play good footie, both have good squads, will be a boost for the Premiership if we replace Motherwell and Dundee Unt, both are appalling!

The Manky mob are getting 30,000 to there games if they are lucky now, that shows how sad the Premiership is, a bet u next year, they are back up to closer 50,000 with the Bears, and Hibs, Hearts and Aberdeen, all in the mix, will make for the most interesting league campaign in a long long time.

!

17 Feb 2016 15:18:51
completely disagree M3LVO, we fill ibrox most weeks, we take a large away support most weeks. Hibs however, are lucky to fill 2 stands of their stadium against us, and normally have 8000ish for the rest of their home games, their away support isn't that great either. Rangers fans are showing others what a good support is.

17 Feb 2016 15:25:31
Correct only show there where plenty of empty seats against us at Easter road.

17 Feb 2016 17:21:51
The way they sell treated us I would stop fans giving them money buying away tickets what do the rest think especially Dundee unt.

17 Feb 2016 17:23:20
We should not buy away tickets especially for Dundee unot the way they all treated us.

17 Feb 2016 17:33:03
All am saying is it was goo to see that there was 20000 at their game last night it is a good sign, stop trying to nit pick my god! get a grip!

17 Feb 2016 20:49:13
Not having a go but there was 20000 there because it wasn't on tv. Most hibs/ hearts fans are far more interested in derby games than when we or Celtic visit.

Conversely Easter road was half empty for our visits because it was on tv.

We should be proud of the attendances we have been able to attract in lower divisions. Do we not hold several records for lower league attendances?

17 Feb 2016 14:18:45
I wish fans would calm down a bit and stop getting carried away, it took us 2 games to beat Kilmarnock and only beat them with a last minute goal, we are miles short of competing for the title next year, anyone can win a cup tie but next year we'll need to win at your parkheads tynecastle sheepland and grounds like that home and away, we still need major squad changes or fans are going to be in for a shock next season.

17 Feb 2016 14:27:01
Spot on del. Two attempts to overhaul a team fighting relegation is not the mark of contenders. We are going to need a right few PLAYERS in. What we have at present just will not do, sorry.

17 Feb 2016 14:50:26
We're not miles short and would beat East Kilbride by more than 2 goals. This whole thing about Championship vs Premiership standard is getting a bit monotonous. Hibs have beaten Dundee utd, Aberdeen, St Johnstone and Hearts in cup matches, we've beaten them 3 times and should have been 4.

Look where St Mirren are in the league. You get into this league and it's hard to get out of it. Almost every Premiership team would battle and we face every team raising their game against us week in week out. By the way, we didn't just beat Kilmarnock, that's not the point, we outplayed them over 180 minutes.

17 Feb 2016 15:31:09
I agree del, but they have done well last nite, probably better than well, Utd, killie etc, not up to beating sheep, hearts, septic, at moment, still short of a few strong players, winners I mean, defo we are better football side than most, but that alone doesn't win 🏆 titles, cups etc, I'm happy with WW, just hope he is aware of requirements to tweak and adapt to game, tactics etc, ie, corners, strikers who are a constant danger, that I am afraid isn't waggy, well as he had done he is not our scoring threat going forward, we really need to find that guy, my tip again is a boy who alky should never have let go, Kane hemming's, I have long felt Thi boy has it in him to go on and be a really good striker. Along with a big strong striker, he could firm our newest Coisty, n, Hateley combo, how good would that be, with mckay, ohalliran spreading wide, with a good ball playing mf and Halliday prompting, and a strong defence behind, sounds great, but its do, able with around 5/ 6 million to invest in the team in an attempt at getting our title back, the place would be bouncing again, God bless the famous Glasgow Rangers
Tommy.

17 Feb 2016 17:57:53
Kfraser we are a long way off winning the spl, I think what the hibs results show is that how well rangers have been to be 8 points in front of them but next year is going to be harder for us because of being in the lower leagues for 4 years unless we buy quality players but that would cost a right few quid, listen I'm not one of the usual negative posters but I would just urge fans not to get to high expectations that we're going to win the spl at the first attempt, it might take a couple of years, my reasons for posting this is I'm worried that the fans will turn on the manager and board if we don't win it next year and that's the last thing we need because this board have been superb and they will need time to build our great club to where all of us want it to be.

17 Feb 2016 20:41:46
I'm glad more fans seem to be realising the journey isn't over yet and we have some hard work ahead. Without major investment we are mid table at best. I'm not saying we can't close the gap- three or four quality additions and we can compete with Celtic, but we need to be looking at far better players than MW has so far.

I share concerns how the fans expecting a title next season will react - but as fans we should be more realistic and not place unreasonable expectations on the team. We should be aiming for the title within a few seasons not expecting bone straight away. I'm no defender of Dave King but even he has stated that. Across world football there are few examples of teams winning promotion then winning top league in first season.

Need to remember that killie have been shipping goals and we didn't outclass them as some have suggested. They had most of the play in first half, we were the better side in the second half. Over the two games we struggled to break them down and if they had a bit more quality in final ball they could easily have won either game.

17 Feb 2016 12:56:41
Great result last night. We can't win every game 5-0. Killie are in the SPL and with Hibs winning too against Hearts it shows there is little or no gap between the top 3 in the Championship and the entire SPL. It is a shame about Waghorn's injury but it might be a blessing in disguise. Clark now deserves a run and I'd play Clark, Miller and Mackay up-front against QOS on Sunday. To freshen up perhaps Law should start in favour of one of the other midfield trio?

17 Feb 2016 13:41:36
I agree Clark has never really been given a decent chance up to now, the boy is a Rangers man thru and thru, he gives his all every time, he scored 2 a week previously, he can't just stop knowing how to score at his age can be?, he should be played, in the box with license to shoot at every opportunity, he will come good, if not I would definitely get young Hemming back, I always felt that lad was good
Well done last nite
Tommy.

17 Feb 2016 14:21:37
Well done to Clark on goal but it changes nothing. Can't fault his effort but he has now had two and a half seasons to prove himself- he simply is not what we need.

17 Feb 2016 14:45:08
2 and a half seasons of not starting many games tho.

17 Feb 2016 15:36:51
Dont get that Luigi, the boy hasn't had anything like that amount of tome, he was treated abysmally by coisty, who didn't seem to want Rangers to find a new, young great striker? Wonder why? He let Clark and hemmings down when they were flying, I think Clark will come good given time, I also believe Hemmings is destined to the top
Tommy.

17 Feb 2016 10:51:32
I was just reading online that the current setup for the Super League B would be teams from countries ranked 6-14th on UEFA's coefficient, hate to tell everyone this but Scotland are 25th, we are 12.600 points away from 14th, I currently very much doubt we'd get anywhere near this super league. wouldn't it be a little unfair to allow Celtic, Rangers or Aberdeen into this league with the fact other teams from other countries are doing better in Europe?

17 Feb 2016 14:12:55
Just read the same article. Sadly fairness isn't a consideration. Money is.

Being honest our teams have done nothing in Europe for last decade- us reaching UEFA cup final was the last time any Scottish side made any kind of impact. Have to go back to Jimmy calderwoods Aberdeen for a another spl team to have made any impact. Strachans Celtic did well but aside from a fluke against Barcelona Celtic have done nothing since. Our potential exclusion is a consequence of this.

Teams from Cyprus and Bulgaria have done significantly better than Celtic have in champions league- bate borisov for example have a more legitimate claim to be included than any Scottish side.

Many people will make the argument that we are a big club and should be involved because of that. We are a club with world wide support but in financial terms we are no longer a major club, the tv money from larger nations dwarfs anything we could bring to the party.

I am 100% convinced that these plans can be stopped if eufa, national associations and all other clubs unite against a plan which is clearly not in the interests of the game. The threat of expulsion from associations and banning of any players from international football should be the response. There is also the realistic possibility that EU trade laws can be used to block the proposal.

If clubs start acting out of self interest and try to sort out their own place in a Atlantic league or a second tier then the plan will go ahead and the footballing map of Europe will be redrawn, and we won't be on it.

Iv seen a few posts hailing Tue Atlantic league proposal with sentiments along line of stuff the rest of Scottish football what have they ever done for us- well what if four years ago the rest of Scottish football had taken that attitude with us (I do not mean spl sides) and not voted us into league. We would not exist.

17 Feb 2016 09:11:43
Agree with a few who posted, not that big a gap between the top of the championship and the SPL, and posted that last week and got 10 disagree. Thought we were poor first half great the second and really dominated. Quite a coincidence scoring from a corner after all the posts on here lol.

Heard McKay wanted a higher wage for his contract he does not want to leave. A compromise was reached where if he continues to progress a better deal will be offered in 18 months. Makes sense we will be in the SPL then and can afford better contracts.

Any old timers on here who follow our history can confirm or deny it was 3 Chelsea supporters who helped set up Rangers?

17 Feb 2016 09:27:48
Rangers where founded long before Chelsea mate.

17 feb 2016 09:47:57
the name rangers was lifted from two of the founding fathers favourite rugby club (english team but don't know which one)

17 Feb 2016 12:00:22
Hi bears
If my memory serves me right I remember reading that the name Rangers comes from an English rugby team and I'm certain they were from Swindon, i also know that at least 3 if not the 4 founding fathers were from gareloch in Argyll, i stand to be corrected if I'm wrong.

17 Feb 2016 13:22:12
Where did you get your info about the Chelsea supporters starting rangers as it is a load of rubbish.

17 Feb 2016 14:19:35
For me Chelsea have a racist captain and a bond villan chairman. Why would anyone want to associate themselves with them?

On terms of the whole debate about gap between the leagues. We were playing against a struggling team with the second worst defence in the top tier, who are used to losing. I'm chuffed Clark scored but let's not kid ourselves- a better final ball and killie could have beaten us in both games.

17 Feb 2016 16:50:01
Perhaps 3 fans who helped set up Millwall FC. There is a connection somewhere. The Gallant Pioneers is a decent book- esp if you get it free in epub/ mobi file.

17 Feb 2016 09:36:04
Rangers were formed in 1872 Chelsea were formed in 1905 so they couldn't have mate.

17 Feb 2016 08:59:15
Well done last night lads great result . great to see nicky Clark wait and taking his chance onwards and upwards. Hard games but grinding out good results . long way to go lol but in a lot better shape than last year.

17 Feb 2016 07:56:21
great result
perhaps MW will take note of the winning goal from a corner considering the amount of corners
we get
hope waggy gets fit soon but I think he was due a rest and perhaps to give some one else a chance.

17 Feb 2016 09:48:54
great result, but again with the pressure 2nd half, it should have be all over early doors.
Waghorn looks like he might be out, and given the comments on plastic pitches over the last week or so, would it not be a good idea to give Hardie a runout and maybe even Jordan Thompson this weekend. Given our under 20's play on plastic most of the time, this won't phase the lads.

16 Feb 2016 23:56:42
First off well done Clark, wee man gives his all every time that's for sure.
Second up there is not much difference between us, Hibs and the top 6 in the SPFL.
Bit of investment and we will be challenging, and i'm sure if Hibs make it they will be top 6 as well. Celtic fans have been thinking the gap was huge, it isn't.
Bring it on!

17 Feb 2016 09:44:36
That's been my opinion all along recbob. I've watched some top flight games closely this season and could never for the life of me see where this gaping chasm in class was. With Hibs deservedly knocking out the third placed team and us dominating proceedings at Kilmarnock I'm thinking that maybe we are not this disaster that some of the negative posters think we are. And we have a transfer window in which to strengthen. I think some people really need to get a grip. We are making chances galore. Some days a good percentage will start to go in. Have faith!

17 Feb 2016 15:48:43
Uiu just confirmed that new signings are required to beat celtic, sheep, etc, you di realise football takes more than tricky wee wingers and toooy tap play rarely wins anything? Unless you got the very best in the world, the only way I can explain this is by asking you this,? Do you think Walters teams would lose to this side? Never would be my guess
But I pray we get better and better, because I am a real Rangers fan
Tommy.
