How about getting Osman Sow on pre contract for next year, pace to burn good finisher and wouldn't break the bank. So could be Sow, Waghorn and O'halloran if we get him, that would be great pace up top.

17 Jan 2016 23:39:52
I agree. He would be a great signing. big, strong, fast, great first touch, and he has skills on the ball.

18 Jan 2016 10:23:35
Didn't think Sow was that quick?

18 Jan 2016 13:40:40
Yes not a good finisher either! Misses some amount of sitters.

17 Jan 2016 22:22:28
Saying we sign the boy from Brentford and O'halloran and when windass and crooks arrive in the summer. who would be your best starting 11? Lot of competition for places.

17 Jan 2016 20:54:45
If and when the O'halloran deal goes through who drops out of the 11. Wagg is a stick on, Kenny is on flames at the moment and wee Barry has been superb all season. Good times ahead.

17 Jan 2016 21:11:02
If and when michael o'halloran does sign for rangers the one I would expect to drop out although he's playing well would be kenny miller, our front 3 for the future would be o'halloran, waghorn and mckay I would suspect.

17 Jan 2016 21:25:35
A front 3 without an out and out goal scorer?

17 Jan 2016 21:42:02
A front three without an out and out goal scorer? What about the UK's top scorer who is currently in that front three?

17 Jan 2016 21:58:38
Where is windass going to play.

17 Jan 2016 22:51:49
Gblue85.i no one thing. miller has been good, no doubts. but he would be a bench player on spl and europe for me.

17 Jan 2016 20:11:40
I know halloran hasn't got a great scoring record, however he has pace and that's something we've not had for a long long time up front. That is an asset we will thrive on when we are in spl next season. MW knows his stuff, exciting times lads!

17 Jan 2016 20:47:14
Has barrie mckay not got pace.

17 Jan 2016 20:54:02
hooly no McKay doesn't have electric pace.

17 Jan 2016 21:06:05
Djab, is there another barrie mckay playing somewhere else that you're watching because its certainly not the rangers barrie mckay you're watching mate, surely can't be because the rangers barrie mckay has a terrific turn of pace!

17 Jan 2016 21:26:22
I'm watching the same Barrie McKay, he doesn't have the electric pace, nothing wrong with my eyes sir. If he had the pace you are making out he would have been playing in England years ago! Fact.

17 Jan 2016 21:28:46
Barrie McKay has been outstanding last few games. One of the first names on the team sheet for me.

17 Jan 2016 21:29:06
I agree Warbs. Sometimes the full back looks as if he has 56lb weights tied to his ankles. If Barrie doesn't possess electric pace then I'm not the worlds biggest Who fan!

17 Jan 2016 21:32:54
Barrie Mackay has amazing pace, he near enuff beats every man he tries to beat with his pace, i'm pretty sure o'halloran will do the same on the right wing or werever he gets played aswell, what a signing he will be if the deal goes through, hopefully he signs within the next couple of days.

17 Jan 2016 21:54:47
Dab ask the Livingston right back if he's got pace, he looks quick to me .

17 Jan 2016 22:00:19
Ohalleron has pace so why isn't he playing in England. That comment just doesn't make sense.

17 Jan 2016 22:16:21
McKay overrated in my opinion, and we can all have our own views. I just don't see him doing it next year when we go up. He's had a good season thus far however can he produce against better defenders? I'm not so sure. I hope I'm proved wrong all the same.

17 Jan 2016 22:39:53
He would have been playing in England years ago? what age you think is?

17 Jan 2016 22:42:34
Djab your now moving away from your original statement that barrie mckay doesn't have pace, everyone else who's answered you seems to think your wrong, go to specsavers my friend because there isn't an argument as far as I'm concerned because mckay is rapid!

17 Jan 2016 22:42:40
He's 19, when was he meant to go and play in England? An amazing prospect and would be surprised if he doesn't end up playing for Scotland.

17 Jan 2016 23:11:40
@ Djab. What Better Defenders Mate?

17 Jan 2016 23:47:38
McKays turn of Pace is electric ⚡️
He gave 1 of the Livingstone players a 3 yard start and finished 5 yards ahead of him over 20 yards, don't know how quick the Livvy player is but I can assure you McKays acceleration is frightening, he may lack killer pass but he's improving every game and I can't believe some people think he's not that quick 😎🐕.

18 Jan 2016 10:34:02
Djab put the spade down and jump in.

18 Jan 2016 11:33:15
I don't get the argument here!
Im a big fan of Barrie McKay and agree he has very quick feet and a great turn of pace but that doesn't make him fast! E. G I don't think he would show a great time over 100m sprint.
He's no Theo Walcott for example.
So you are arguing different points as far as I can see.

17 Jan 2016 17:25:09
Whats the point of signing someone with pace (O'Halloran etc) when our opponents always play 10 men behind the ball stifling the game - most of them across the 18 yard line!

Fellow Bears thoughts on signing Lewis McLeod, Peter Pawlett and an experienced defender?

17 Jan 2016 17:45:34
Lewis McLeod = too many injuries since he left us, Peter Pawlett good shout RFC111 but i would prefer Rooney and as for a Defender what about the young guy from utd John Souttar.

17 Jan 2016 17:49:24
Won't be like that next season, Celtic, Aberdeen, Hearts, even Hibs (if they go up via play-offs) won't park the bus. Think it would give us a great option.

17 Jan 2016 19:13:56
Hibs parked the bus against falkirk if they get to the spl they will never finish a game with 11 men by the far the dirtiest team we have played in 4 years.

17 Jan 2016 20:13:57
Rfc111.the point of signing a player with pace is for spl. bed the guy in now, and he's integrated in time for spl, where we will not have 11 guys parkin the bus. pace players for spl for us will be needed.

17 Jan 2016 22:38:17
Would love to see soutter sign.

18 Jan 2016 10:27:28
Wouldn't like to give them any money tbh.

17 Jan 2016 16:56:30
Good result yesterday, and a perfect result today with Falkirk and the Hibs. clear daylight and a game in hand, new players to arrive, looking good for the worlds most successful club. ahh its great to be a bluenose. Have a great week bears and bearettes. We are indeed the people.

17 Jan 2016 17:01:43
Superb 5 points at the top, c, mon the gers.

17 Jan 2016 18:10:26
Safetyman great post and totally agree, but Its Hibs that have a game in hand, they have played one game less than us which if the win will take it to 2 points behind, but Still great weekend for the gers all-around.

17 Jan 2016 18:26:03
Rangers=20 games played
Hibernian=20 games played
This was Last updated 1 hour ago on a website.

17 Jan 2016 18:27:42
Your wrong bro hibs on same games as us, Falkirk have played one more than both gers and hibs. So, we are 5 clear of hibs and Falkirk, if we win or game in hand against raith we will be 8 points in front of Falkirk, happy daze!

17 Jan 2016 18:39:03
Hibs and Rangers played same amount of games. Falkirk have played 1 more than both. If we can beat Morton next we then have Falkirk end of January and our game in hand right after we have an opportunity to get rid of Falkirk from the race as I doubt we will ship 12 points to anyone before the end of the season as hopefully we have learnt our lesson from November/December performances.

Hopefully Hibs focus will be affected by the fact they have a league cup semi then a cup derby a week later. If we keep the performance going then I am confident we can pull away over the next month or so.

17 Jan 2016 18:50:48
My apologies safetyman and fellow gers just as i sent my post i noticed i was wrong about the game in hand as it was just updated on the site i was on mins after i sent it, yes We have played same number of games as Hibs and one less than Falkirk, again my appoligies.

17 Jan 2016 20:04:05
Yeah guys i meant a game in hand on Falkirk. I think we can romp away with it after the new signings bed in. I'm not fusswd about Hibs to be honest, they will shoot their bolt as one of the guys said, they can kick themselves through a match, they will suffer in the end. It's all about the Rangers.

17 Jan 2016 16:41:02
Nathan Oduwa has left Rangers
Source: he announced it on twitter.

17 Jan 2016 16:56:41
Think he's in the huff?

17 Jan 2016 17:05:20
Not a great loss, hasn't done it up here, btw if he can't do it here what chance has he got at Spurs, shame really because he did show it in glimpses but nowhere near consistent enough, maybe he has took the huff at not getting a game, but he just didn't do enough to get game time, I wish him all the very best for the rest of his career.

17 Jan 2016 17:47:40
He got no protection from referees what so ever in Scotland.

17 Jan 2016 23:03:32
A young player with a lot of potential but he was kicked black and blue by the thugs that purport to be football players in this league. Sadly the referees just didn't want to know!

17 Jan 2016 16:03:35
Two or three players being brought in sounds good.

Diagouraga, O Halloran, and a player on loan no doubt.

Possibly Harry Wilson from Mcparland old boys Liverpool.

Thinking we'd need a defender on loan, but in Warburton we trust, as always and as long as he's at our wonderful club.

17 Jan 2016 15:00:16
Hi Fellow Gers,

Bad planning on my behalf, however I'm finding myself in Albufeira, Portugal on the weekend of the Petrofac Final. Gutted I'll miss it but need a suitable venue to take the game in. Haven't been there for a few years. There used to be a Rangers Bar as well as a not so nice place (Scots Rock Bar) but does anyone have any suggestions in that area please?

Many thanks,
LLG.

17 Jan 2016 15:35:05
Scots Rock bar is shutdown, it's a wee cafe. There is plenty places down the strip, I watched the play off's from a bar right on the corner at the crossroads which is below what used to be Linikers, but there is plenty choice. Probably be better going down the Old Town.

17 Jan 2016 15:46:38
Thanks Dunbar Blue. Old Town Square would suit best. Assume the game will be on BBC Alba.

17 Jan 2016 14:18:53
Take it u can't use bad language I never said person what I said sounds like runt.

17 Jan 2016 14:11:35
He didn't give jackets away ended up given people 10pound gift card for sports direct he's a person.

17 Jan 2016 12:27:46
I see Ashley gave away £2.4m worth of jackets for free. I don't know how much his shares are worth but how about he sells them to get his money back!

17 Jan 2016 12:50:14
I know he is a bell end but don't knock him for this half decent deed aye we hate him here at Rangers but even i can respect Celtics decision to donate food from postponed games to Charity.

17 Jan 2016 12:56:03
Its a nice enough act don't get me wrong but i'm sure there's a lot of homeless people in newcastle that would love a warm jacket.

17 Jan 2016 12:59:11
Just read there that most fans are giving them away to charity so forget that last comment!

17 Jan 2016 09:23:13
Good win yesterday. By all accounts Barrie Mackay was the top man. Anybody know why we aren't playing Morton until 25th January? It is a shame that we have pulled 6 points clear but then Hibs and Falkirk could both close the gap again before we play next. Also, according to the Sunday Post, Michael O'Halloran is on his way to Ibrox this month.

17 Jan 2016 10:10:16
Agreed. He's turning into a fantastic player and at least two of his cutbacks yesterday should have been put away. The Morton game must be about TV but waiting till Monday night is not ideal and I've read Warburton is rightly not too happy about the scheduling. I hope we sign O'Hallaran as he's the type of player we need.

17 Jan 2016 10:36:22
Must be on to on Monday nite.

17 Jan 2016 11:02:49
Television as always sets fixtures, BT Sport in this case i think
as for Hibs and Falkirk cutting our lead, we welcome the chase.
Bring it on.

17 Jan 2016 08:57:35
Looking at the lad ohalleron he seems to play lw and rw anybody no were is best position is as I no nothing about him.

17 Jan 2016 00:01:15
OK guys need a bit of advice.

My wee one is 2 and a half and was wondering if its too young to take him to watch the mighty bears.

He's been to places with loud noises and doesn't seem to mind him just looking for advice.

Thanks in advance.

17 Jan 2016 07:00:24
I would say no, young kids get bored quickly. I would wait until about he is about 5 but I have seen younger kids at stadiums.

17 Jan 2016 07:28:36
Depends when he takes he takes his nap!

Took mine to Rangers v Hibs some years ago when he was three. Chris Burke scored after 17 minutes and he missed it because he was fast asleep. The roar didn't waken him either. He must have subconsciously sucked it in though - loves Ibrox now. (Although at half time during the 0-0 game v Cowdenbeath (away) last year he told me he'd rather be hit by a car that watch the 2nd half! )

Best to take them when they know what's going on and can get as excited as their dad does. 4 + for me.

Hope he enjoys it whenever it comes.

17 Jan 2016 07:49:08
Thanks for words of advice guys. I really want to try him as he loves football and will sit and watch it with me at home but think it's just the stadium that worry's me. I might try him at a game like bottom half of table. Thanks folks.

17 Jan 2016 08:27:58
Just make sure its in the family section tho. Sat with the oldest boy in the copland stand when he was 7 and he learned a whole lot of new words. And that was against Inverness.

17 Jan 2016 09:11:54
Great question, for me anyway as I'm going through the exact same issue, my daughter is 4 and my boy is 2 and he's 3 in Apr. I can't wait to get them to matches at Ibrox so they can get the club in there hearts early.

The Wife is not keen (although she is a massive Rangers fan tae) but looks for an excuse with its to cold, or it's too wet lol! U go and enjoy it though! Let's get our weans there though, I educate them on the gers by asking them to name players on the telly 😂 and on the match programme.

Ma daughter loves Martyn Waghorn btw! And the wee man thinks every game I fitba on the telly is Rangers!

17 Jan 2016 10:07:12
Waggy that's same as my missus she not a sport fan but did ibrox tour not long ago and since then she been hooked. I must say my other half from Corby in England so not got many good teams down there lol. I might take the wee man in next couple of months and see how he reacts :) cheers for advice.

17 Jan 2016 11:55:42
Alexcee no worries mate, good post and sound advice from fellow bears, I now know that I don't need to rush to get them there now. 5 yo is the age I'll be aiming off for getting them to the games so they get the benefit of understanding what's going on. It'll be to the family stand as well so they don't hear the nice words from the stands 😂 I mean they hear enough of that from me!

17 Jan 2016 13:15:47
Alexcee

I took my 2 and a half year old to Ibrox - he is now 23 on one the coldest winters day so far in his life.
We left at half time as he (and I) were bored but the pictures we have are still family favourites and the fuss made of him by fellow bears who I did not know made me even more proud to be a bear!

Incidentally wee girl next to us yesterday on her first trip had similar experience and lasted until 70 mins.

17 Jan 2016 13:17:16
BTW

when son was 5+ we went to the family section; language there was worst in ground from teenagers who went for the cheap ticket.

17 Jan 2016 15:57:43
Been in the family stand many times, never had any bother. Guess its just luck of the draw.

16 Jan 2016 23:36:57
We've been linked pretty regularly with both michael o'halloran of st. johnstone and greg stewart of dundee who both play in much the same positions and are similar, the question I throw out here to all bears is this, which one would you prefer us to sign and who is better o'halloran or stewart?

17 Jan 2016 07:36:24
MO from St J. The reason being that MW wants him and MW forgot more about coaching and talent spotting yesterday than I'll know in my lifetime. Like you posted on the rumours page, he does this for a living. I'm not aware of him showing interest in Stewart.

17 Jan 2016 12:54:10
Both would do nicely.
