17 Mar 2015 22:07:52
right - we've tried everything else so here goes -
drop McCulloch.and.zaliukas Play Halkett and Gasparotto in central defence until Faure is fit again.
Play Clark and Gallagher up front

aird walsh Murdoch and Templeton in midfield until Vuckic is fit.

right back and left back, I haven't a clue!!

like I say the other day, tell the out of contract guys that their time is up ( we may want to keep about 3 of them ) And finally, Plan for being in this league next season, if we win in the play-offs it will be an unlikely bonus tyen we need money to buy about 6 REALLY GOOD journeymen

Believable1 Unbelievable3

17 Mar 2015 22:32:18
Problem is McCall is is own man and will want to make his own "mistakes"

Unlike his predecessor he inherited this rubbish & and has got all time left in season!

Another experiment on Sunday at ER can we honestly expect to win given our previous performances this season!

Agree0 Disagree0

17 Mar 2015 22:34:35
Bit hard on Zaliukas, hit some good passes tonight, and as I said in previous post, Jig would make Beckenbauer look like a coo in the same defence. agree with Faure, got bit of pace, not seen a lot of Gaparotto, and nothing at all of Halkett. thing is, we need to get to play-offs, and hope that McCall's got a pattern by then.

Agree0 Disagree2

17 Mar 2015 22:35:13
REALLY GOOD journeymen?LOL
They're journeymen because they're p**s!Get the boy Stoney in there with Gallagher and Gasparotto, at least the young guys are fit and hungry.

Agree1 Disagree1

17 Mar 2015 23:15:40
I agreed with your initial comments but def not the latter. So your dropping all the journey men and old legs to replace them with youth and hopefully add some pace and energy, however, you then want the youngsters out the team and 6 journey men brought in??
Play the kids from now on in and bring in the best of the young kids in our league and below. I'd keep Bell, Clark and Wallace only and fill the squad with young energetic and eager youth who want to have a career not want to prolong a career

Agree6 Disagree1

17 Mar 2015 23:31:41
It's time to just go with the youth players from now till the end of the season. If we manage to get into the play offs its a bonus. I posted he other day it would be better not to go up and it's better to stay and build for the championship with young players and 3 transfer windows to get players capable of competing in the premiership. What a sad indictment on the club that we are struggling to finish in the top 4 in the 2nd tier of Scottish football. Let's play the youths rest of the season then clear the decks close season

Agree5 Disagree1

18 Mar 2015 01:27:46
I don't get this latest rumour that McCullochs contract states he has to play if fit, we have a new board and a new manager, If I was McCall I would drop him, let him then decide if he wants to take Rangers to court and make his entire Rangers history shameful, and alienate himself from every Gers fan, and the club? if he, s as big a fan as he says so, he won't do anything, he should be dropped

Agree5 Disagree2

18 Mar 2015 01:08:44
All above I've been saying for a long longtime get the youngsters in, I agree with stewie in the 3 windows if we stay in this league, but the more I see rumours about must play whrn fit the more I think its believable and if this is so then mccoist, whom I've always praised as a player trophy wise, memories he has gave me all this would drop if the fit must player rumour is true, I also think mccall, givin time will get us back to our strongest, maybe another season in championship would be the best option ìn our current state.

Agree3 Disagree0

18 Mar 2015 03:41:14
I can't believe any director or manager would agree to that clause in a player's contract.(If fit, must play). Not going to happen. i'm sure, if its true, then someone will provide the evidence but just can't see it myself.

Agree2 Disagree0

{Ed001's Note - how can someone provide the evidence of a confidential clause in a confidential contract? As for not believing it happens, I know personally a number of players in the past that have had such clauses when dropping down to the lower leagues to play. It was the only way the club at that level could convince them to sign.}

17 Mar 2015 22:05:11
Alloa 2 shots on target 2 goals Rangers defence is so bad I'm sure I saw a McGills bus with Easdale driving it go through them, can't see a game out unfit unprofessional and leaderless on the park!

Believable6 Unbelievable0

17 Mar 2015 22:03:01
Another disappointing night

Steep learning curve for McCall

Time up for some of these players - played their last game for Rangers

Zaliukas & McCulloch to name but 2!

Believable7 Unbelievable1

17 Mar 2015 22:07:41
and Boyd hopefully.

Agree4 Disagree2

18 Mar 2015 02:06:58
McCalls rep is on the line here, he was the real deal as a player, he watched McCoist team every week he knew they were awful, so he will get rid asap, He is blameless for this, I hope all fans realise that, he will have them playing at least a bit better soon, but they've lost how to play football, allys management ended their careers, though many were only there for the cash, ally got them a final pension, nice one Ally

Agree2 Disagree0

17 Mar 2015 21:53:13
Listening to radio Scotland tonight and heard that Hearts do triple training sessions on a Thursday and double other days. Ally gavecour dumplings Thursdays off and yea n cake at half times, that's why we are 26 points behind hearts and counting. Not only the worst Rangers side in history but as fit as a pub team. Allow had two attempts on target and scored with both, clinical finishing or Agatha Christie defending, my money is on the latter

Believable3 Unbelievable0

17 Mar 2015 22:00:15
My phones predictive text is nuts that was tea and cake and Leo Tolstoy defending!

Agree0 Disagree0

17 Mar 2015 22:07:52
just back mate, sounds like a Jig scapegoat thing, but his lack of pace yet again unsettled our whole defence, and he lost his man for the goal. also thought that Bell could have come for first. Robinson was doing ok, baffled why he was dropped.on plus side, Clark scored, and may kick on now, Shiels got good shift in, Walsh, Murdoch done well, and Wallace had decent game, . McGregor and Zaliukas done as well as they could considering they were playing with Jig, who would've screwed up a back line with Pique and Ramos in it. Boyd? time to go. succession of sclaffed shots and mistimed headers, and if he had pockets in his shorts, he would have stuck his hands in them. McCall has got to show us all now he's serious, and drop them both, into the same hole that Black is in.

Agree2 Disagree0

17 Mar 2015 22:15:13
Been saying this for someime should be doing an 8hr shift I drive buy Murray park 2-3, times a week and can count on one hand how many times I've seen them out on the park scandalous really is!

Agree4 Disagree0

18 Mar 2015 01:12:53
Lani youve hit the nail on the head mate, that how I see it, especially about robinson, he done reałly well, I know a lot thought he is not a good enough keeper, but not me I think he has played well any time he gets the jersey.

Agree1 Disagree0

I agree, Robinson was doing well enough and it was a little early for Bell, probably would have made sense to reintroduce him in the match next week against c'beath at Ibrox.

Agree0 Disagree0

17 Mar 2015 21:52:00
I really despair an actually can't sum up my frustration with this lot who call themselves defenders. we manage to score two goals and they can't keep the thing out of the net. we have now drawn 5 in a row and the last two games at home to the team at the bottom of the league and third bottom. Thank god the season is almost over or we would be fighting relegation.

Believable3 Unbelievable0

17 Mar 2015 21:47:57
never in all my days as a rangers fan thought I would see the day when we would fear ALLOA, total embarasment yet again seasons over let's all wake up we won't get up this season show the duds the door NOW ans start playing youth what have we to lose

18 Mar 2015 10:43:43
Er no.think even Broonie would make it into top 98%!

Agree0 Disagree0

Just a thought, but we might be as well to put in Mohsni, lol, no am actually serious.
Does anyone know why Aird isn't getting near the bench, that baffles me, he hasn't been around for ages, he can always bring something positive.

Agree0 Disagree0

{Ed039's Note - Aird has been injured)

17 Mar 2015 21:31:28
Commentator says Alloa just won't lie down! Why the George Orwell would anybody lie down to this crap!Rangers defence is doing a good enough job at lying down! Disgraceful!

Believable3 Unbelievable0

17 Mar 2015 21:59:54
Every single player has went backwards under 2 Gardner's & McCall 2 points out of 6 & next game v Hibs.Promotion would best left, as imagine the damage SPL teams will do.

Agree1 Disagree0

17 Mar 2015 22:06:49
Totally agree absolutely disgraceful only two good things to come out of tonight's game firstly young Walsh looks a real star in the making and secondly it's one more game closer to the end of one of the most shambolic seasons and footballing ineptitude that I can remember.

Agree2 Disagree0

17 Mar 2015 21:30:06
Last tppe should have been nicky clarke, sorry my fault.

Believable0 Unbelievable0

17 Mar 2015 21:25:07
I may be jumping the gun here but can I be the first to accept whatever Martybhoy dishes out this evening (or at 7:50am).
Yet another truly dismal performance. Wee McCall will need to grow a set and drop the lot of them before he finds himself earning a crust in the beachgrove garden too!
Rangers have sunk as low as the belly of a python in a limbo competition.

Believable4 Unbelievable0

18 Mar 2015 01:16:31

17 Mar 2015 21:20:04

Believable3 Unbelievable0

17 Mar 2015 21:12:03
FFS bring on Sinnamon, move McGregor into the middle, move McCulloch forward and dig a hole and bury Law - NO IMAGINATUON WHATSOVER in the midfield We have most of the possession and can't do anything with it. The defence minging as usual. What a job McCall has on his hands, God help him because nobody else is trying to. Looking to me like another season in this league is looming but probably a good thing

Believable4 Unbelievable0

17 Mar 2015 20:35:25
i see in another 45 minutes at home we can't break down that world famous alloa defence

Believable3 Unbelievable1

17 Mar 2015 20:45:41
Wee boy in my work today said to one of the guys if you can't support the team during the bad you don't deserve to support during the good. They're Motherwell fans lol. I believe McCall will come good, and tbh I didn't want him to get the job a few weeks ago.

I have a large selection of Gers match day programmes from 1980's through to present including 100 years of ibrox v hearts and the uefa cup final 2008 as well as most of the games in the lead up to it.

Wondering if anyone would be interested in purchasing any of them a full list can be given I have various Scotland ones as well as the 1984 european cup final Liverpool v Roma

My prediction is 3.0 to the Gers and ill stick it in a double with some clown from across the city posting at 7.50 in the morning to revel in our joy.

Agree0 Disagree0

17 Mar 2015 15:33:38
Well least you'll get one part of the double. I think alloa will break down your 4-6-0 formation and steal a 1 nil victory. It used to be teams parked the bus at ibrox but now it's yourself. Frightening the way things have changed.

U20's captain Ryan Sinnamon a RB/LB was training with the team, thoughts on him at RB tonight?
Bell
Sinnamon McGregor Zal Wallace
Murdoch Crawford
Law Walsh Templeton
Gallagher

Believable2 Unbelievable1

17 Mar 2015 11:43:30
I agree mate but no chance crawford should start and is bell 100% for tonight?

Agree1 Disagree0

17 Mar 2015 11:52:25
I don't see why everyone keeps putting law on the wing, he is a central player. but I do like the look of your team mate, I'd have clark in there for Gallagher, but I'd have Gallagher on the wing, with Murdoch and law midfield

Agree0 Disagree0

17 Mar 2015 12:41:38
There's loads of options at mccalls disposal. He should utilise it. He must have a headache trying pick out of all these stars.

Agree2 Disagree1

17 Mar 2015 13:45:50
Your sarcasm is hilarious Marty. Law is a central player but he lacks tenaciousness to parter other weak midfield players. He is quite fast though and can beat a man hence why he can be used on the wing.

I would start with Crawford, he's the forest member of the team, has the most stamina and is a box to box type player.

I wish we had mcausland he was a good fb and was tenacious in midfield.

Walsh also plays well on the wing so gal can still play in attack.

I am looking forward to the lineup tonight I hope he goes with what he says and plays shiels and templeton

Agree0 Disagree0

17 Mar 2015 14:45:47
Autocorrection making a mockery of me; Mcausland is a good RB not fb and Crawford is the fittest member of the team not forest.

Agree0 Disagree0

17 Mar 2015 15:01:19
I don't think Gallagher made the squad, but that's from the DR so?No Crawford either, and a boy Wilson midfielder, brought in.

Believable4 Unbelievable0

17 Mar 2015 15:07:58
I was a bit young Bongo, though I do remember that side quite well. My first star player was Colin Stein - £100,000 from Hibs in 1968. It was a lot of money then. I remember his first few games. I think he scored 3 hat-tricks in first 4 games or something crazy. Could do with him just now. Even if he is nearly seventy! No pace but he was great in the air and was also very good on the ground. What a player!

Agree1 Disagree0

17 Mar 2015 15:43:47
Noddy I think his hat trick came in his first game against the great unwashed.

Agree0 Disagree0

17 Mar 2015 15:56:49
Colin, Colin, Colin Stein. 3 in game 1 at Arbroath, 3 in game two at Ibrox vs. Hbs(I was here!)two against Dundalk in Eufa away, then hee-haw on a foggy afternoon in Paisley as St Midden beat us 1-0. at that game as well. fabulous player. sold him to Coventry, got Quinton Young in part exchange. that wee guy didn't take any Virginia Woolf either. remember Stein got sent off against Clyde after another hat rick, and missed 1969 final against Celtic because of a 6 week suspension. and the chairman of he disciplinary committee was. Sir Bob Kelly, of Celtic. don't hear much about that wee bit of jiggery pokery now. but major outcry at the time.

Agree0 Disagree0

My first team I remember clearly was 1967/8:

Gerry Neef, John Grieg, David Provan, Ronnie McKinnon, Willie Mathieson, Orjan Persson, Willie Henderson, Andy Penman, Davie Smith, Alex Ferguson, Willie Johnstone.

With Sandy Jardine and Colin Jackson in squad

Amazing side my first big signing I remember was my favourite player up till Davie Cooper. Colin Stein.

Agree1 Disagree0

17 Mar 2015 17:55:32
I know Billy Ritchie well, so many Favorites in that team Baxter Greig Henderson ect but My hero was Davie Wilson could be doing with him now on the left wing Colin Stein was my hero as well could go on all night, can see the young one in 20 years time talking about our lot the now!

As per usual I'll be at ibrox tonight for our game against alloa, this would be my starting 11 guys-bell, mcgregor, halkett, zaliukas, wallace, midfield-templeton, mcculloch, law, walsh, up front-shiels, clark, what do you think fellow bears?

Believable1 Unbelievable1

17 Mar 2015 10:16:18
Positive team, know why you put Jig on midfield, but I would draw a line under him now and move on. haven't seen Halkett boy. but like the mobility in rest of midfield. Hutton plays like he's dragging a tractor tyre tied round his waist. we'll see. early goal this time might spark them.

Agree1 Disagree1

17 Mar 2015 11:34:57

Agree1 Disagree1

17 Mar 2015 15:14:09
Bell, McGregor, Zaliukas, Wallace, Smith, Walsh, Law, Murdoch, Shiels, Miller and Templeton. We need fresh legs and a bit of pace. Miller could be subbed after an hour and we could change it up by putting Daly or Boyd on depending on the score. The guys at the back are interchangeable. I'd give Zaliukas and Wallace a go in the centre of the defence with McGregor on right and Smith on left

Morning Bears. It is hard to believe that so many players with SPL experience have played so poorly this season. Winning promotion the last 2 seasons wasn't a big deal though Gers still did it by large margins. This term Boyd, Miller, McCulloch, Wallace, Templeton, Law and others have played rubbish. However, the tactics employed by McCoist lie at the root of the trouble. Confidence is shot to pieces but I'm sure McCall will turn things round, especially by playing some of the youngsters, at last! It would only take one decent win, say a 5-0 against Alloa tonight, and suddenly confidence would come back. We MUST beat Hibs on Saturday and then go on an unbeaten run. I'm on a rare trip to Glasgow tonight from my home down in southern England but annoyingly I'll arrive too late for the match! WATP.

Marybo) I see your getting your ten to eight fix on the best banter site in town, I thought yous were playing tomorrow and personally I couldn't give a flying feck how the outcome of that match turns out, if the game was being played in my back garden I'd shut the curtains, oh sorry you are still obsessed with how we will get on I think we'll be just fine this evening especially if we get a ref like yous the weekend.
