Use our rumours form to send us rangers transfer rumours.

17 May 2016 22:31:57
Re Joey Barton. without going into the minuses let me say i would take him gladly, however if it does not happen rest assured the team will have others in their thoughts for similar role.

17 May 2016 21:28:54
This may seem obvious to most of us, but I hope and pray that after we win the final on Saturday, we see major momentum on all fronts of the transfer market. I hope so I cannot take much more of this speculation.

18 May 2016 14:50:14
I'm loving the speculation its the first time in about ten years that I've been really exited in the transfer market but I don't think warbs will be wanting any of his targets to be signing on deadline day he will be done and dusted before july 15th I think.

17 May 2016 21:15:22
Get a bid in for Cummings now before a English team beats us to it I know he has been trouble in the past but didt they say the same about gazza end up being a rangers legend Cummings will only get better and better with Warburton and weird showing him the way don't want a Scott Allan fiasco again though.

17 May 2016 21:08:47
When are we going to splash this cash Warburton was promised it's all freebies and loan deals talked about maybe after the cup final I think least then we, ll have European football to look forward to more income another striker a must can't leave it all to waghorn.

17 May 2016 21:54:58
My god be patient! We're doing our business a lot quicker than a lot of other clubs and I'm sure there's a lot going on behind the scenes as MW says he wants all permanent signings in before pre season starts. As for the freebies we have only signed two and they look like gems. We paid 250k for rossiter so that ain't a freebie.

17 May 2016 22:09:02
The window hasn't officially opened yet so we can't spend anything on transfers. The window opens in june 1 i'm sure. Warbs said he wants most of his business done by the time the come back for pre-season and i'm sure thatll happen.

17 May 2016 22:13:00
If you can get a good player on a free, or good player for a fee which one would you want!
Why spend money if you don't have to ( memories ) .
Remember players still have salaries to be paid so think we are going along the sensible way .

17 May 2016 22:21:27
Jordan Rossiter a player Spurs bid £6m for in January signed for £250k compensation and reported £500k per year over 4 years. That's great business, would you prefer to pay £2.5m on him?
We have also added the Accrington boys for minimal compensation possibly £100k for both again decent business.
We are offering contracts to Kranjcar and Barton and the windows not even opened yet and that's only the ones we know about calm down mate it's about who we sign not what they cost.
Personally I think both Barton and Krancjar are waiting to ensure we have European football before committing.

18 May 2016 11:49:20
Brian p exactly mate that's the way i see it .

17 May 2016 22:35:53
Why 500k per year?

17 May 2016 20:35:12
Think it would be worthwhile the magic hat making an offer for Reece Oxford?

17 May 2016 21:13:25
Aye am sure we have a 15 million pound to spend.

17 May 2016 21:44:06
Reece Oxford? The West Ham kid?! Is he not being chased by Man Utd, Chelsea and Man City! Very much doubt we could afford his wages.

17 May 2016 22:58:55
We could never ever ever ever afford him.

Would cost £15-20 million and that's not even counting wages.

Even on loan it would be a stretch to believe.

18 May 2016 07:47:33
Was on Sky Sports that he's turned down a new contract at West Ham. Same situation as Rossiter and we landed that one. Why not make enquiries?

17 May 2016 21:12:29
As it won't happen he has 2 years left on contract but would be great loan signing.

17 May 2016 21:08:04
Would be another absolute steal but can't see him wanting to make the move.

17 May 2016 17:48:22
right guys . clear somethin up here . was forrester inly signed for 6 months? has he signed a longer deal? if he has why would we need kranjcar? fair enuff he's a good player but Forrester was pretty important for us in that campaign.

17 May 2016 18:00:34
Pretty sure forester signed a 3 year deal then got injured mate.

17 May 2016 19:04:51
That's like Alex Ferguson saying, right, I've got Cole and Sheringham, why do I need Yorke and Solskjaer?

Depth my friend. depth.

It's not like Forrester can sub his auntie in whenever he get's injured.

17 May 2016 22:23:23
He was initially signed on shirt term till the end of the season, impressed and was awarded 3 year deal on better terms. We NEED another wide player and/ or number 10 which both Krancjar and Forrester can play.

17 May 2016 18:02:13
We need to have quality on the pitch and on the bench. To many times his year the bench was short on numbers and quality players. Need comp for places.

17 May 2016 18:11:05
yes signed new 3 year contract.

17 May 2016 20:57:52
Forrester signed for 3 years.

17 May 2016 17:45:10
If we sign even half of the names we are being linked with we will have more midfielders than Celtic :) . I'd love to see ; a top young goalie, Fod scares the shoot out of me, a CB to replace Wilson as first choice, a strong DM and the hard one goalscorer. I don't think Warb's style will allow for an old fashioned centre forward. So a cheap, fast, tall, ballplayer who can score 40ish goals no problem there then lol.
I 100% agree with Alex Neil, we can, t afford Dorrans at the money quoted but He should button his lip about what we can afford.
Can't remember when I was this excited about a transfer window.

17 May 2016 19:06:32
Fod scares the shoot out of you? Surely that's his job in a nutshell?

17 May 2016 17:40:50
A little off topic but I have just watched the highlights of the Sheff Wed / Brighton match. Whilst watching it I can see four ex Celtic players in Hooper, Kayal, Loovens and Wallace on the park. Not long ago Celtic would have tried to win games in the CL with these same players who are now trying to gain entry into the EPL. It really puts the current state of the Scottish game into perspective.

Along with Rangers current pursuit of Barton it shows how much the game in Scotland has deteriorated over the past decade and how the pendulum has swung very quickly from one end of the scale to the opposite. No disrespect to any of those players I have mentioned but their ability is far from what has graced Scotland in the past.

It is a shame as the Scottish game is passionate and intriguing but in my opinion has been left flailing due to poor leadership at the top end of the spectrum. It makes you really wonder if the Scottish game will ever flourish again and it makes you worry that a bleak future may lie ahead.

17 May 2016 18:48:46
Watched the game last night and thought the conduct of Kayal was shocking. Incredible he stayed on the park after 2 tackles that were done to intentionally injure the opponent.

17 May 2016 19:24:45
Kayal has a nasty streak in him. He should have been off the park long before he lost out on that 50/ 50 with big Mculloch.

17 May 2016 16:58:18
Reading all the posts and media build up regarding barton and kran, every one must calm it.

MW knows what he is doing, so let him be. We all know we need experience in the squad, for next season, everyone been shouting out for a few older heads for months now. So if MW think JB and Krank fir the bill then fair play let him get on with it.

We cannot just have young prospects in our team. He trying to bring in a street wise CM, that is what we need. JB may have a past but does that mean he is always tarred with that brush!

Sometimes you got to take a calculated gamble on player and that is what MW is doing here. So let it be and see how it pans out.

17 May 2016 18:50:45
M3LV0

I wasn't aware anyone on this site was trying to stop Warburton doing his job? All they are doing is giving their opinion and that's what these sites are for.

17 May 2016 23:03:00
So we can't talk about things that may or may not happen? That's kind of ridiculous.

Nobody is trying to stop or hinder our own team and I don't see how speculating about potential transfers hinders Mark Warburton at all, it's normal, happens with every club.

18 May 2016 10:49:22
wow FU and Biffo, read my post, a said people need to calm down about the fuss being made over Barton that was it! never said stop airing your views or interfering with MW doing his job, just the JB haters give it a bread !

U 2 get a grip!

17 May 2016 15:48:40
has barton ever played European football? this crap gets more comical by the minute . I say pay him by the game if he signs cause yellows and reds will mean a heck of a lot of sitting in the stand time.

17 May 2016 16:18:14
he's had 10 yellows this season, I'm unsure to whether he missed a match or not. the man has calmed down on the pitch.

17 May 2016 17:24:49
DeeCee at the end of the day mate you have to judge him soley on what he does for Rangers (if he signs) not what has happened in the past.

17 May 2016 15:43:31
letsbe honest here teams like manu. Chelsea. arsenal . man city even the wonderfull Leicester must be just peeing themselves at our aggressive chasing of barton. . the guy basically is done and is championship class in England. NO MORE-he should be the one chasing and begging us for a game not the other way around. we now bring loads to the table with European football cream on the cake hopefully. are you telling me Scotland does not have a 25 year old hard man who can play and would love to play for us. I say tell barton to take a hike.

17 May 2016 16:20:53
no Scotland does not have a decent and experience 25 year old hard man. what is the issue with signing barton? and it's barely an aggressive pursuit, it's just blown out of proportion by the media.

17 May 2016 16:45:27
if u think he's championship class in England tht would do for me as tht league is ten times better than the spl will ever be. celtic would struggle to b in the top 5 in tht league maybe ten years ago we would say things like this. barton probably will b the best player in the spl if he signs bags of experience he could pass on to our players. wee need a strong/ take no piss guy in the middle of the park if the management team keeps him in check we will have a gem. he has changed a lot. or we can go sign scrap like black and co again if thts wht u want.

17 May 2016 17:15:42
Aye am sure he will go for a play as u deal!

17 May 2016 19:11:14
Don't exactly think Leicester will be peeing their selves at our pursuit of Barton, isn't that similar to what they did, took a gamble on players like Huth and Albrighton. Sometimes it works for u sometimes it doesn't.

17 May 2016 20:04:48
Teams like Manu, Chelsea, Arsenal, Man City and Leicester won't be laughing about us chasing Barton they won't give a toss! He did make the Championship team of the year however which puts him in the top 10 outfield players in that league which given that 2 out of the 3 promoted teams stayed up this season would suggest he cuts it as Premiereship calibre. As for Europe - not sure how relevant that is! Would we not just be in the qualifying round possibly just playing 2 games, assuming of course we beat Hibs which is not a given considering our recent performances. Like it or not Joey Barton would be a marque signing and I hope he comes although it looks as there are still a number of obstacles to be overcome. If he doesn't sign I will still take comfort in our Boards evident ambition and await with interest possible alternatives of a similar capability. Exciting times - now let's go and win us a CUP!

17 May 2016 21:47:31
Going back to a topic I mentioned last season the rich will get richer and teams trying to keep up will get into bother all due to SKY .
I know ED was negative regarding my post but fact is fact, all that watch Sky in Scotland, Ireland Wales etc are just pumping their money into the so called best league in the world, all I was stating was why does the money not be spread out on viewing figures or something similar, teams relegated in EPL get £80 m, we are lucky to get £10m between all our SPL teams ( disgusting ) .
The gap will keep growing unless something is done about it, I am no means anti EPL just think the money thrown down south is ridiculous .

17 May 2016 09:32:33
I think the within the next ten days or so we will have done a majority of our transfer business. At the moment we are being linked with all sorts of names especially guys who are available on a free transfer.

I'm not fussed about Barton not signing anything yet, took a while to get the Rossiter deal over the line. If he signs he signs if he doesn't we will move on. Personally I'd happily sign him. He was a stand out last season in the championship.

Cummings, I would sign in a heart beat. Yes he has some off the field issues but he is young and will learn from his mistakes and has the makings a real player, if he got the right guidance.

Dorrans, if the fee was right I would bring him back up here. Past year or so hasn't been great but still has his best years in front of him.

Still need a centre half or two. I know crooks can play CB but need something else I feel and also cover for right back but Iv no names to pitch at the moment.

17 May 2016 16:13:45
I wouldn't let Cummings anywhere near Ibrox, end of, he's not good enough, the guy is a legend in his own mind.

17 May 2016 17:36:57
I know imagine being a young man enjoying his football.

17 May 2016 18:54:39
Stuz

I think your wrong about Cummings I think he would do a job for us. Far better player than Clarke and can score a lot of goals. He is also young affordable and talented.

17 May 2016 09:31:19
i don't think we will get either barton or kranjcar one can play in premier league next year the other can play all sesason in sunshine and a lifestyle second to none let's face it what would we chose if we got the choice but it is worth the effort.

17 May 2016 13:03:14
With us being linked with several Liverpool players, one player I would love to see us sign is Jon Flanagan. He is young fullback with bags of quality and he is available for free in the Summer!

{Ed001's Note - he just signed a contract extension a couple of months ago mate.}

17 May 2016 12:49:19
i do think we will end up signing Cummings, and i do believe he will do a job, although got to say i feel we really need a bit of size/ strength up front but if this is route Warburton takes fine, as he has knowledge on needs and ability that are way above us normal punters.

17 May 2016 13:42:52
He's do e something that none of the striker who have been rockets in the past ie. Riordan, oconner, goodwillie etc. And that's score consistently. I know it's not the top tier but he scores all types of goals and imo will be a Scotland international.

17 May 2016 14:07:42
To be fair, Riordan is no.3 on SPL top scorers list - above the likes of Hartson, McDonald, Miller and Novo.

17 May 2016 16:00:11
And that's after you's ruined his career as well, same as Allan's.

17 May 2016 17:04:58
Haha recbob.

17 May 2016 17:43:53
Brilliant Recbob. Not accurate in the slightest but at least Camoo got a giggle. I think you may have a fan.

17 May 2016 18:08:35
Tell me who is at the top of that list ya patient?

17 May 2016 18:28:36
I would imagine Kris Boyd? I don't have it in front of me.

Or is that supposed to be some sort of hilarious attempt at point scoring? If so well done. Recbob clearly has competition.

17 May 2016 22:42:05
bs poetic, not in front of me? so you knew Riordan off the top of your head in 3rd, have a wee look again based on including this season and he may be 4th.

17 May 2016 23:53:59
If you must know, I knew Riordan was up there as it was part of a trivia question a few weeks back. He could be fourth now, I honestly couldn't say - although if I had it in front of me as you claim, I'd have said fourth originally wouldn't I? Stop contradicting yourself, it's embarrassing.

As well as which, if I did have it in front of me, why wouldn't I just say so? Why lie about something so meaningless? It's pathetic. Not nearly as pathetic your post - but getting there.

17 May 2016 12:25:27
Ed001 if you are around mate I would just like to get your opinion on Joey Barton and if you think he has matured over the last few years.

I know in the past you have shared your thoughts on him so I was wondering if your views are still the same?

Cheers.

{Ed001's Note - I don't think I am the best person to ask, my view is tainted by knowing the family and not liking them in the slightest. I personally don't like the vile little cretin and his fake attempts at trying to come across like a nice philosophical guy. As a player he is decent enough, but he is still guilty of idiotic moments. I just don't see any evidence to think he has matured, he has just learnt to pretend much more.}

17 May 2016 12:47:39
Fair play Ed I know from reading over the years you have always maintained the same opinion of him. Of course I don't know him personally but he does seem a lot more mellow in the media nowadays than around the time he played at Man City.

{Ed001's Note - he has learnt how to portray himself well, that is thanks to having an agent who has helped him with that. As a person, he needs to do more than tweet random quotes to prove he has grown up and that the apple has fallen far from the tree. I would love to think he has learnt his lesson, but I have yet to see any real evidence of it. I would particularly fear for him in Glasgow, where the pressure is immense, rather than in Burnley, were there is little of it.}

17 May 2016 13:44:51
There has been guys worse than him play at the top level but again this is Glasgow.

17 May 2016 11:45:52
Wouldn't spend 1.5 on Dorrans. Plus wages, bonuses etc would probs be nearer 2 million. Could spend that money better. Not a lot of defenders being mentioned, remember the old Real Madrid president talkin about only buying forwards to score more goals than the other team! 🔴🔵⚪️.

17 May 2016 12:38:30
I know GD's brother Andy and he has assured me (and others) that Graham is desperate for a move to Rangers and is willing to take a massive pay cut (but his wage would still be substantial to us common people of course) to make a move possible.

I know there have been tentative discussions with a rep of the player (along with Andy and Graham's dad) and Rangers about a move but the ball is well and truly in Norwich's court.

Norwich City are aware that good wants a move to Rangers - as per discussions with the player - and good will be willingly to see out the last year of his contract to make a move viable should Norwich price him out of a move back to his boyhood club.

Cheers,

Beau.

17 May 2016 12:45:33
Sorry for the typo. Where it says 'good' above it should say GD.

17 May 2016 10:51:29
Been reading about kranjer there and they reckon it'll be down to his missus if he comes to us or not. She it would seem is an up and coming actress.
Now as much as we would like to think we wear the trousers, if we were to be honest we don't, our wags do.
So to sum up, her choice is Govan in the pishing rain flying back and forward to the US to pursue her career or stay in the US with all it has to offer.

Govan it is then!

17 May 2016 11:29:06
Theres always river city 😂😂heard wee bob is looking for a burd.

17 May 2016 12:39:47
Cracking player is NK when he decides to turn up. Not seen much of him over the past few years though so it's a tough one to judge.

17 May 2016 10:43:16
Rangers looking too tie up a 1m move fore Liverpools Sergio canos. Ex Barcelona youth player 19yrs old had a successful loan spell at Brentford.

It's said Liverpool offered 3k a week for new contract and Rangers could offer him 9k.

17 May 2016 09:31:17
I see Butcher is talking up Cummings saying he could be the star of the show on Saturday. More like he is hoping! The guy was some player but the bitterness is eating him up inside. And before anybody plays the hypocrite card, I know, that's me!
Also it really irks me the way the papers scrabble for pish to write. De Boer says it was 'fair' that we were sent down to the bottom tier. Correct me if I'm wrong but did not the majority of our fans want this? No story here - move on.

17 May 2016 09:52:18
The seeker

Tbh we can really only judge whether it was fair after the court case is finished. It may be the case that the club was a victim of crime and should have been helped rather than punished. After all the players paid there tax and NI and the supporters paid VAT on club purchases it was the actions of a certain individual or people who with held the tax.

17 May 2016 10:54:09
Cummings could be though he is very talented and always scores.

17 May 2016 11:36:28
Biffo, I almost forgot about the court case! You are quite right as the full story will come out and it just might transpire that we were put down illegally. Wonder what would happen then? Maybe the last 4 SPL campaigns would be declared null and void. And then I woke up!

17 May 2016 00:02:58
I think Barton would be a great signing he has a wild past but think he has matured . he played 40 games got booked 10 times that's one in four so not that bad . he is in the team of the year in a much better league than Scottish prem and just what we need in my opinion.

17 May 2016 09:03:32
I guess he must tick all the boxes Warburton has talked about all season, must add value on the pitch, off the pitch and to morale and team spirit in the dressing room.

I wouldn't be in the slightest bit sorry to miss out on him and my reasons are not because of his temperament or controversial past but simply because of his age, wages which are bound to make him our highest paid player and the likelihood he'll be constantly wound up on the pitch by our opposition. The hype surrounding the guy is way over the top.

17 May 2016 09:33:05
We need experience our midfield is very young and will benefit from a player like Barton we can't just sign youth the balance of the team won't work.

17 May 2016 10:36:29
I see Barton has now jetted off to the sunshine with his partner to mull over a move to Ibrox. I was not excited about this signing when the news broke though he potentially would be a very good signing. The dangers are not just with him but his reputation. Opponents (and referees) might try to make a name for themselves, provoke him and get him sent off. This happened with Sounness and Gascoigne. Krancjar could be a better signing but apparently his girlfriend is a Hollywood star now and might not want to move to Scotland (couldn't blame here weather-wise! ) . I also think that Rossier, Windass and Crooks sound really exciting and with Hardie back and maybe Murdoch or Walsh, we've already got half a dozen newcomers for next season. So I'm not bothered whether Barton signs or not. One player doesn't make a team.

17 May 2016 11:18:45
While I am not too concerned if Barton doesn't have the ambition to play for Rangers and would rather stay at Burnley, I would be very uncomfortable if we did not sign at least three or four more players of a better quality than we have.

I really don't see Murdoch being a midfield player that can take us to the next level and would be surprised if he is not put back out on loan to a Championship Team.

17 May 2016 11:44:18
Doiger he could leave his missus over in the states, just like mw has done (england) ime sure she could fly over now and then, plus with the technoligy these days shes only a button push away, plus its only a three season gap, doddle. lol.
