RANGERS legend Sandy Jardine has announced today that he is being treated for cancer.

Sandy would like to pass on his thanks to everyone who has offered their best wishes and support since he was diagnosed a short time ago.
The Club will support Sandy and his family in any way it can throughout his treatment and we ask that the media respect his privacy and indeed the privacy of his family.
Sandy is a true Rangers legend in every sense of the word and has the admiration and respect of every one of his colleagues at Ibrox and Murray Park.
There is little doubt he will fight this disease in the same way he fought bravely in every match he featured as a player and our thoughts are with him and his family at this difficult time.
Sandy commented: I would like to thank everyone for their best wishes and kind support. As you can appreciate this is a difficult time for me and my family and I ask that you respect our privacy.
You can beat this Sandy, all the best in this your greatest battle.football takes a back seat at this time.

ok so th eteam is starting to pick up results now things are looking a bit better but please dont get ahead of yourself rangers fans.

1 these players are very poor
2 the young players in this team in any other era would never be near the 1st team none of them.
3 the foriegn players still look likr rabbits in headlights
4 remember big jig is 50 and would never have a career at rangers this long in any other era. remember he is scoring these goals in the eqquivilant of guys playing down the park.
5 two bad results and it will be the end of the world again.

Believable17 Unbelievable22

Ridiculous post, Mark Wotte recently said he thought MacLeod would have been in the team if Rangers were in the SPL. McKay and Aird are both 17, so I wouldn't expect them to be dazzling in the SPL but both have great potential. As far as McCulloch goes, who cares we are where we are and the team is winning. You can only beat whats put in front of you after all.

Agree22 Disagree7

East Stirlingshire are the third bottom team in British football. They scored two against us.

Agree18 Disagree2

You are a bit harsh on Aird & McKay both 17 and really good prospects. Hopefully these 2 young players will have bright futures with the club. As for McCulloch maybe he wouldn't be in the team of years ago but unlike other so called Rangers fans like Davis, MacGregor, Lafferty & Naismith he chose to stay and help the club. We are where we are and because of the lack of loyalty of other people we are left with some senior players and kids. The younger players have done well and need the full support of the fans

in 2010 Nobby Stiles sold off some of his medals, including his World Cup winners medal.

I believe (but don't quote me) that the purchaser now thinks he actually won the World Cup, and goes around claiming to be Nobby Stiles (he even shaved his head).

If true, he's more to be pitied than ridiculed ... but could anyone really be that stupid ...?

Absolute disgrace! McCoist should go.
Rangers should have scored 15 today
did they? NO! Go now Ally for the love of god.
and to lose TWO goals, not one, TWO!
another disgrace...........of course that
was all tongue in cheek.

Well done, Ally. Well done Rangers.
RTID. Thats all.

Believable14 Unbelievable14

I missed the first 20 mins but with plenty of goals, 3 pens and a sending off, £5.99p on Gers tv was a bargain.

Agree11 Disagree6

Could'nt believe my ears today.Watching match on RTV and big Derek Johnstone saying 'there's nobody on this planet will beat Kevin Kyle in the air' aye right

Agree18 Disagree5

Its good to see the young Bears coming through. Even standing up to the rough and tumble. By the time we are in Scottish top flight these young men willl be able to compete without any fear. Infact to be honest in Scotland we have some good talent in variuos teams doing a good job.

Agree7 Disagree6

@6 even if it WAS just the league mate, do you know what? i really would not care. Things are starting to get out of 1st gear for Gers'. The clouds are starting to shift a bit. Its looking more positive by the day. There the old saying, biting off more than you can chew. So having participation in this cup and that cup is only detrimental to what has been a slow building process and as i mentioned, we are now (imo) getting there. RTID

Bears, seems there were technical issues with the streaming of the game today. Rangers issue a very quick and appreciated apology.

WE apologise for the issues that supporters experienced with today's live stream on RangersTV.

This was as a result of a server issue which we are currently investigating in full.
The club would like to apologise to those fans who were affected by the problem and more information will follow as soon as we have completed investigations.
Those supporters who have already contacted the club will receive a response to their query when information becomes available.

even at £5.99 you wont make real money if no one can watch......

Might seem an obvious post but have any of the Ed's invited Mr Green to make a comment on this site? So many questionas are asked and answered by people who really are giving opinions. At least you can say an offer was made. {Ed001's Note - that is a very good idea. I will see if I can get hold of him next week.}

Rangers are a total shambles, the dodgiest share issue ever, McCoist on 5%, Smith back to do McCoists job (so what % is he getting), Green is full of **it, players like Cribari and Black are not even good enough at this level, when is someone going to remember we are a FOOTBALL CLUB, I am sure it all looks good on a spreadsheet but on the pitch its dire! its time to stop spending our hard earned cash on these conmen, without us all their schemes fall apart.

if some one will show me how green is a white as the driven snow, his football record before gers is hell, and his company background dire.....

how come he is the saviour,.... just cos he part of the whyte/d&p/zues conflab???

he claimed 400% profit for investors before june, does that not sound unreal, where can you find mugs these days to make 400% when banks only offer 0.5% .... and stockmarket and sharefiddles offer just 20%....

as whyte said only people at gers with money are fans, easy pickings.... hope not!

King lost £20 million in oldco.......

so why he sooooo keen to return to newco...... where is the upside?

Agree5 Disagree1

Same reasons any body puts money into football .Either off his heid or for the love of his club. Either way the guy allegedly has the money.

Agree3 Disagree2

Green has saved rangers il be putting thousands in the shares

Agree1 Disagree8

King failed the SFA fit and proper person test.
As soon as oldco is liquidated he will have an automatic FIFA wide ban from football positions for 5 years, as a director of a liquidated club.

Green and Ahmed would not now pass fit and proper fitness tests. Greens lies are astounding to be a CEO. The fraud squad are all over Ahmed.

Lot of people saying that Rangers absence has no real financial harm to SPL clubs. People have quoted one game where Hearts gate against Dundee was 3000 less than visit of Rangers.

What people fail to realise is that Rangers and Celtic fans are completely ripped off and the ticket prices are not the same for fans of other clubs.

Last year I got tickets for Tannadice at £28. The following week they were at home to St Johnstone and the same tickets were £16. St Johnstone is sort of a derby , I wonder if say Dundee Untd v Killie were even cheaper.

So if we take 5000 and Dundee take 2000 then these clubs are losing 3000 tickets and also the higher prices that we pay.

It would be nice when we get back to the top that we pay the same ticket price as the rest. It is ridiculous that they do this and even worse that they get away with it. Not much "sporting integrity" there then.

When on the subject of ticket prices my last visit to the piggery I paid £42 a ticket. I don't know what Celtic fans pay at Ibrox, probably similar. It is crazy prices

I see the old tosh of euro league or some form of Atlantic league is being raised again. I for one have been listening to this for forty years and no nearer happening now than then.

I believe the whole problem in European football was and continues to be caused by UEFA. The Champions league has been the worst idea ever in football made worse by the ridiculous seeding system and in fact the whole thing
is fixed where the rich get richer and f,,k everybody else.

They no doubt started this idea to provide more money to the clubs competing by the league system, but it has back fired completely. It is frankly boring as hell, and because of some stupid rules it cannot get better. Firstly the major problem is the fact that it is not the Champions League, it is the first four in big leagues league. Since when was it considered a success finishing fourth? There are now teams that make it clear that finishing fourth is more important than winning a cup. Losing is now more important than winning. The top four get in where they make huge money which means the other teams in the league are miles behind and can never compete financially. You could predict the top four in every country in Europe year after year.

Then the crazy rule where seedings are used, another example of looking after the rich. Then the dross where two teams from same country cannot be drawn against each other, it is just fixed. Why dont they do away with the draw and publish a fixture list.

Due to these ridiculous rules we watch the same teams, same games year after year after year. How many times am I meant to get excited by a semi of Chelsea v Barca?

What it does mean that no club outwith Real, Barca, Chelsea, Man U, Bayern can win the trophy - boring.

Believable25 Unbelievable3

I tend to agree to most of it. Not that Champions league is a bad idea, but the ranking system. If UEFA want to stick as many teams in the UEFA cup as they can then do it. We need the Champions league for league winners ONLY. Bring back the cup winners cup for the cup winners. This way we see the true chamions of europe. Not watching a team who finished 3rd in their league go on to win it. The only way so called smaller teams will compete is if the winners are guaranteed chamions league football. Get rid of this ridiculous ranking system designed to help the bigger leagues.

Don

I agree all the way. Champions league and some league champions dont qualify but other leagues get 3-4 places. You are 100% correct.

OP and then the big teams play reserves in group games against the wee diddiy teams, Barca especially, man city and man utd spring to mind

JG

Agree0 Disagree2

Well if you've got a semi watching Chelsea barca then you must be getting pretty excited lol. But yes I must agree all champions should qualify automatically Celtic having to play 2 qualifying rounds is a disgrace and that's coming from a rangers fan. Did all 4 teams from England qualify automatically if so this just goes to show how rigged the whole thing is

Agree3 Disagree1

Porto 2004 and liverpool 2005 , noether of these teams were expected t win it and were 80/1 at the start of the tournement

Agree0 Disagree0

Celtic could get to the last 16, win the league this year and then com back in July to play THREE qualifying rounds, doesn't seem to be a fair return.

Never a complaint about CL when rangers were in it. Never a complaint about SPL when rangers were in it.

Agree5 Disagree5

" Never a complaint about CL when rangers were in it. Never a complaint about SPL when rangers were in it."
Major error there Timmy. I think you will find that on Record at the time RFC were all for and were part of initial talks regarding a new league. Dutch, Belgian and Portugese teams were also interested. It was poo pooed by UEFA at the time.

Agree2 Disagree4

The whole CL was setup because one of the worlds greatest clubs Real Madrid were sick of getting knocked out of the early rounds by smaller teams from back water countries. Then when they spat the dummy and threatened a breakaway uefa came up with the current setup to appease them and others while discriminating against smaller countries including Scotland. Where by despite being fully paid up members of the uefa family they are illegally restricted to entrance to the CL when winning their respective league, and I cannot understand why clubs have not taken uefa to court to get it sorted out.
