I can’t get my head around Lafferty being blocked to play for the team who pays his wages. I’m sorry to all the N.I bears but I hope he never plays for his country again after this.

17 Oct 2018 23:55:06
Wouldn’t say not play for his country ever again but i'd say it could be over between him and O’Neil.

18 Oct 2018 08:42:56
I’ve been a NI fan long before it was trendy to be 1 I remember going when you be lucky to get 3000 at matches. I am absolutely disgusted by the decision to ban Lafferty from playing there has been countless times players have pulled out of squads and then we’re fit enough to play for club the next week! If I was Lafferty I wouldn’t play for O’Neil again he’s played for us since he was 18 and I can’t remember him pulling out of many squads.

18 Oct 2018 12:53:12
I agree in the fact of its abit strange for them to use abilities to ban him from playing for us, this week with all he has done for NI. I think O'neil has just burned his bridges with rangers and lafferty with that action. Although I don't know what was said to o'neil in that phone call and i can understand him being angry with a midnight phone call to say he can't play. But as i said, he has been a great asset for NI and this maybe his first misdemeanor so you would think it would be a personally warning from o'neil of do that again and you won't be getting picked again.

18 Oct 2018 13:04:56
O’Neill trying to deflect the fact that they lost both matches and he is being found out. Rotten Manager who got lucky mainly thanks to Lafferty. Appalling thing to do to Rangers and will sour relationship between Rangers and N Ireland.

18 Oct 2018 14:25:55
I get the whole players pulling out of squads and its an honour to play for your country etc, but the club is the priority not the country. Lafferty needs to tell o'neil to do one👍.

17 Oct 2018 23:04:22
What is mr Robertson doing re semi final ticket debacle. Least he should do is demand Aberdeen pay for all tickets.
I'm about to miss my first semi or final in 30 yrs as never got two tickets in ballot for my son and me.
About time he thought back and defended our fans.

17 Oct 2018 23:57:36
Jboy, have you not read his letter to Glasgow City Council over the fanzone issue and anti Rangers tweets from MSP’s?

He’s absolutely fought and defended us on that front.

18 Oct 2018 05:53:31
Jboy21, don't hold your breath on our so called managing director stewart robertson doing anything! How this gentleman, has a position of power as the rangers MD, is beyond me! I honestly don't think this guy has a tongue! For the position he's in, we as gers supporters, should be hearing a helluva lot more, from him! No wonder many of us bears call him the invisible man. What does this guy actually do and bring to the rangers table? Nowt, as far as i can see! Advocated on here for at least a year or more now, that we should rid ourselves of stewart robertson and go and bring the current hibs chief executive, leeann dempster, to rangers as our new chief executive/
managing director, to replace him!
She most certainly knows her stuff and has done a fantastic job, at both motherwell and hibs! She's a very clever astute woman, no doubt about that!

18 Oct 2018 08:17:23
Super cooper, maybe you, could, become chief executive and, write, lots of letters full of, commas for, no apparent reason, on our behalf?

,

18 Oct 2018 09:11:57
Can we have a poll on our next Chief Exec. Only kidding! 😃.

18 Oct 2018 14:37:07
Stewart robertson is not the issue, he can go to the sfa and state everything that we have stated already but its down to the sfa to make these decisions. You can't blame robertson for the decisions made by the sfa🙃👍. As for leanne dempster😂👍.

18 Oct 2018 15:35:34
Missed out on tickets also went to both ayr and killie games now going to miss the semi because of petty minded sheep and spineless suits at hampden.

18 Oct 2018 15:40:16
It’s down to the league giving them all the tickets for the stand. They should have given them block by block. That mob were never going to sell out their allocation and it was obvious they would ensure they sold certain tickets first to stop Rangers from getting them.

18 Oct 2018 15:42:25
Bearmode I get your point, but he never defends us against sofa, Lennon sheep etc
The man needs to grow a set.

18 Oct 2018 15:59:35
Maybe stewart robertson has fought the fans corner coop, BBC now reporting that aberdeen's semi tickets have now been cut as they have only sold just over 9000. 5000 extra tickets now going to us👍.

18 Oct 2018 16:55:58
Swag man 😂😂😂😂 full of comas for no apparent reason 😂😂, nearly ended me there mate 👍.

18 Oct 2018 23:10:42
Fair play to Robertson if he did fight for more tickets. My info it was Doncaster who blew a gasket and threatened to make sheep pay for every ticket they received.

17 Oct 2018 23:03:35
I disagree with 36thUlsterdivision concerning Kyle Lafferty carrying NI since David Healy retired, he certainly played his part, but Dallas, Davis, Washington, McGuinness all scores goals and Norwood was excellent along with Davis driving the team forward. In saying that I disagree with the IFA blocking him from playing for Rangers, they shouldn’t handicap his team. ( who were honest with them) for something that the player did to them, Personally if he doesn’t want to play for his home flag, just don’t pick him, simple as that.

17 Oct 2018 17:24:44
Shambles from Aberdeen however I do hope they don’t sell out their allocation now so that they can be seen for exactly what they are which is a small time childish no mark of club who are due about 15,000 for any semi if they are lucky, which I believe is what they took to the Motherwell semi last season.

17 Oct 2018 18:21:30
they are utterly blinded by their hatred for us wee bear

& have been for as long as I can remember

how tragic.

17 Oct 2018 21:15:00
Trev No 7

Couldn’t agree more and it seems to have rubbed off on their Manager. Utterly horrible club.

17 Oct 2018 22:20:19
I hope the SFA charge them for the entire allocation they asked for or even cut back their prize money to cover the balance due.

17 Oct 2018 23:10:39
I agree with you totally, wee_bear!
They jacobites from yuchter choochter country think they are a big football club, when they really are a small, run of the mill provincial club! They think there famous because of sir alex having a fruitful time, as their manager, in the 80's! The live up in the sticks and they truly think they are as big as rangers and celtic! Don't make me laugh, as just like your small minded manager, derek delboy mcinnes, you are a small club! What an embarrassment of a football club you are! You bleet for half of hampden and then only sell 10,000 tickets! Good and loyal fans, your arse! God i despise that football club and don't make any apologies for saying that! We'll pump the sheep in the semi final anyway!

17 Oct 2018 23:06:24
I said this before mate, any club should be made to guarantee any allocation that is asked for, solves the problem there and then.

18 Oct 2018 10:11:29
I'm the same, Coops. From the Durrant incident to their "song" about the 66 who lost their lives that fateful day - I despise the rancid reprobates and their no mark manager who forgets where he came from. Them, Scumdee United and that other lot from Edinburgh - my hatred for them knows no bounds.

18 Oct 2018 15:30:59
I hope we pump them in front of their half empty side of hapden.

18 Oct 2018 15:48:44
I predicted this scenario when the allocations were announced. They historically struggle to bring any more than 10-15000 for semis. The league should have taken this into consideration beforehand. All that is happening now is Teddy Bears missing out on tickets, gaps in the stands depleting the atmosphere at the match and clubs missing out on a larger pot of cash. Aberdeen fans and their club are a joke. And that includes McInnes! Come what may, let's just go out and wipe the floor with this bunch of nomarks. #let's go.

17 Oct 2018 13:42:40
Steven Gerrard was present at tynecastle for Scotland's u21 clash with England, hearing word that he was not only there to watch young Middleton and Mccrorie but also to scout the imposing defensive prospect of David Bates.

17 Oct 2018 17:44:59
why would he be?

17 Oct 2018 21:58:01
Id have thought he was watching the Rangers lads plus maybe Solanke.

17 Oct 2018 23:05:16
Billypiper, Not a chance, bates is nowhere near good enough.
My thoughts he was watching solanke, who he went for dinner with after the match.

18 Oct 2018 05:54:39
Maybe he was watching gilmour with a view to a 2 year development loan. or maybe that's wishful thinking.

18 Oct 2018 15:44:20
We had our chance to play gilmour and mb keep him, we did not.

17 Oct 2018 12:27:51
So the IFA have invoked a rule that means Lafferty won't be able to play this weekend even if fit. Would be great of other countries followed suit. I'm not the greatest fan of international football, but it is an honour to play for your country, and to feign an injury to not play is an insult.

17 Oct 2018 13:28:21
Lafferty has carried Northern Ireland since Healy retired. always available no Matter what was going on in his life to ban him for pulling out of squad is an absolute disgrace. If I was him I wouldn’t play again for O’Neil, players have pulled out dozens of times and we’re not banned why do it with Lafferty.

17 Oct 2018 17:19:12
I think we know the answer to that 36th.

17 Oct 2018 17:19:42
Big decisions for Lafferty now. His gaffer is obviously miffed but that decision is not going to heal the situation in my opinion. I’d expect some form of statement from Lafferty soon. The big man has been through a lot this year and I think that the fact he has just had a child with his missus means he’s pretty content right now and will look forward to having international breaks with his family. It’s becoming more and more common with older players from these shores there’s just not as much patriotism as on the continent.

17 Oct 2018 17:22:57
My issue is that it is Rangers that suffers. Not Laff.

17 Oct 2018 17:31:33
Does anyone think the sfa will use the 5 day rule against the ugly we reptile from the piggery.

17 Oct 2018 18:08:53
How does this rule work?
Everyone keeps calling it the 5 day rule.
Northern Ireland played Monday, we play Sunday.
Surely that’s 6 days.
Someone enlighten me please.

17 Oct 2018 19:47:55
It's 5 days from the end of the international week not from when your team plays. Internationals ended wWednesday night our games Sunday so 5 days. Wonder if sfa will follow suit with the thumb, highly doubt it.

17 Oct 2018 19:50:15
The five day rule applies from the last day of the international break which was last night, not when Ireland last played.

17 Oct 2018 19:59:13
I read a thing today and I think it's just an international break as a whole not just when his country has played. So the last games were last night meaning Sunday would be day 5, that's just what I read though.

17 Oct 2018 20:48:49
Regarding big Laff he will always give 100% But I've heard rumour about why he pulled out. Don't like to spread it but hope it's not true as he's had enough problems in his private life. Need the big man back. Like I say rumours but from few different sources one close to his family here in northern Ireland.

18 Oct 2018 08:04:13
Thanks for clearing that up.

18 Oct 2018 15:46:08
Kurgan loyal. U can't say I heard rumour and not expand, story here he fell off the wagon, which makes it worse what that wee drunk done to him.

17 Oct 2018 10:37:11
Steve Davis’s legs are as strong as ever, he is still playing EPL + captains NI, great asset to Rangers and according to media Stevie G wants him aboard. Ok he isn’t getting the minutes he’s used too but that’s down to that clown of a manager at Southampton Mark Hughes, he’ll be sacked soon and the next manager will maybe want to keep Davis? Get in now .

17 Oct 2018 12:19:05
Ulsterman, i'm with you here mate! There's easily another good 3 years left in our ex captain, stevie davis!
He would still cruise it up here, in the scottish premiership! He still has a fantastic engine and is still a very high quality midfielder! Hope the rumours are true and steven gerrard does sign him for rangers, in january! Always have thought the world of stevie davis! Top professional, with terrific skill and a fantastic attitude! Come home davo!

17 Oct 2018 17:29:11
A good 3 years? don't talk single fish. Even if we got him in January, season will be nearly done by time he was upto speed. A 3yr contract on big wages with no sell on? Will tell you here and now, It won't happen.

Would be ok on a free with a 1 yr contract with options but other than that? No chance.

17 Oct 2018 18:07:15
nobody said anything about a 3 year contract supercooper stated he thought he had 3 years left in him that's all nothing to do with a 3 year contract and big wages calm down.

17 Oct 2018 18:18:30
Don't talk pish ya nugget! Stevie davis easily has 3 good years in him up playing in the scottish premiership! EASILY my friend!

17 Oct 2018 18:20:53
I didn't say give him a 3 year contract! I said he could easily play at least another 3 years up here! Wash your eyes out and try and digest my original post properly! Honestly!

17 Oct 2018 19:49:29
We've far too many centre mids already coops already got 8 or 9 for 3 midfield places.

17 Oct 2018 21:34:02
Easy solution then frustrated blue,
We need to shed some midfielders in january or at the end of the season!
Easy answer eh? If we sign steven davis, then for me he plays in our midfield, because guess what mate,
he's better than any midfielder, in his position, that we currently have!
Again relatively easy, don't you think?

17 Oct 2018 23:00:14
Stevie Davis is still a great midfielder but are we not heavy with mids?

17 Oct 2018 23:06:38
No not really. 3 years ago maybe but not now the guys hardly played in 2 seasons. How many centre mids play till late 30s? Not many let's concentrate on getting a young squad no value in resigning steven Davis, as much as I loved him when he was here, as a poster above said we signed him January it would be nearly the end of season byou time he gothe up to speed.

18 Oct 2018 15:47:28
Super cooper what midfielders would u shed in January?

18 Oct 2018 17:00:16
Sure the high and mighty one supercooper will have a plan jboy, after all he always knows best 👍.

17 Oct 2018 09:29:23
Media reporting poss. Return of Steve Davis. V. Excited because even at his age would shore up midfield and instant captain material. Bleeds blue.

17 Oct 2018 11:20:21
His footballing brain will help us tremendously, and would be the ideal club captain. No offence to any of our current squad, but he would be head and shoulders above any current player for the captaincy.
