Backed rangers to score 4 or more goals tonight, cheers for the embarrassing display fran sandaza, he was useless.

Believable7 Unbelievable15

Guys been out for weeks with a bad injury, we win 3-0 and you still moan.

Agree5 Disagree4

For god sake hes no kicked a baw since September.

Agree4 Disagree4

OP - I agree, had the same bet on myself,
Sandaza looks as if he could not hit a coo on the erse wi a banjo right now, but he was not the only one passing up good chances

JG

Agree3 Disagree1

Wouldn't get away with that at div2 level.

Agree5 Disagree1

@JG. Never mind im sure you had a saver bet to cover you........well, thats the normal excuse you give.

Agree0 Disagree0

@5 very witty mate but no this time my bet was rangers to win 5-0 and my saver was 4+ goals, i would have told you otherwise

When does green get his £5.5m back that he paid to buy assets....is it from the share issue money that was raised??

Believable9 Unbelievable6

I notice he has completely blanked the big ohh i will buy up the remaining fans shares! The guys a crook!

Agree15 Disagree8

Fans put in £5.2m and the originals are owed £5.5m plus profit. Then £9m for the stadium upgrade then the directors salaries.
Celtic are on CL £28m minimum plus all their usual income. For each of the next 4 years at least. Rangers shares are a one off.
I'll believe £22m when the stock exchange publishes numbers. There could have been no other news tonight even if it had been hopeless...

Agree9 Disagree6

@2. And they say Rangers fans are arrogant and presumptive. If I have got this right, and feel free to correct me if I haven't, you are stating that:

a) Celtic will win the league for the next four years (probable but definitely not guaranteed)

b) Celtic will also breeze through the Champions League qualifying rounds for the next four years (possible but unlikely to happen four years in a row - depends who you get in the play-off each season)

C) Not only that but they will also qualify for the last sixteen of the Champions League for the next four years too, winning at least three group games and drawing at least one other along the way in order to maintain the "28m minimum" each year you mentioned in your post (dream on mate - even Man Utd can't boast a record like that and they are a far bigger club with far greater resources than either of our teams. They got pumped out in the group stages last year just like Chelsea did this year)

Delusions of grandeur or what! Even with the £28m minimum windfall this year Celtic, along with every other Scottish club, are now a selling club. Is another Wanyama or Hooper waiting in the wings? Admittedly Celtic's scouting system is far better than ours for spotting raw talent that will bring in a profit but there have been plenty duds through the doors there too if you think about it. Picking up the next Wanyama for buttons isn't guaranteed either mate.

Celtic have the luxury of choosing whether to sell or not this year and at what price because of how well Europe has gone. Plain and simple. Fall at the first hurdle next year (or the year after, times 3) and you can bet your bottom dollar Lawell will be moving some of them on just like he did with Ki at the start of this season to balance the books. Unfortunately that is the way it is in Scottish football at the minute.

I am not saying Celtic won't be in a stronger position financially or playing staff wise when we return, I think it's pretty obvious they will be, but to imply that you will somehow be over £100m ahead of us turnover wise is ridiculous in the extreme. As Tam would say, find yourself a darkened room and have a wee lie down mate.

Brian

Agree5 Disagree7

Oh so Celtoc are already through the next 8 or so qualifiers use will need too play the next 4 years or so use will lose players ur team will change again & again i dont think Lennon will ever top the team he has now keep dreaming Timmy!

Well well well timothies what will you try and slaver on about now another one of your predictions about rangers fails. The share offer a success raising 22.2mil. 17mil from big investors and 5.2 mil from fans. To put that into context that's over 10,000 fans who stumped up 500 quid now I'm sure you'd agree that given the tough economical times we are facing and the fact these shares were only available to supporters staying in the uk. Ah well only another two weeks to go till your next prediction fails rangers back in admin before the end of the year. Lol you lot really are the bullsh,t brigade

Believable19 Unbelievable22

Lol nothing like a little twisted sense of humour...think I'll wait to hear GCs excuse for not buying out the remaining 4.8m worth of shortfall from the 10m set aside for the fans to buy...you do remember his promise to buy the shortfall?? Nevertheless a decent effort in hard times but still short of expectations!

Agree16 Disagree7

OP] Well said and just to work it 'wherever', 42,135 of us have supported our team to-night. Yes that is what you call the Ibrox FAITHFUL.

Agree14 Disagree13

The idea was to give the club back to the fans yet 90% wiull be owned by investors ... i would call that a fail

Agree12 Disagree5

@ op did 10,000 Celtic fans not raise 9mil and that was 18yrs ago,so put that into context! and i think you could do the math on how much each supporter contributed.Macca

Agree10 Disagree4

Lol the original aim was to raise 20 mil green said he would cover that shortfall but knew he wouldn't have to lol no1 next one please

Agree6 Disagree6

Charles Green set out to raise £20m from the flotation, that has been achieved and bettered well done to all who contributed and a very merry xmas to one and all.
AJM.

Agree5 Disagree7

Sadly same £5 million from fans in june would have bought 100% ......

£2 million cost of float...... so fans now own holding company shares, not club.

Agree13 Disagree2

He said he would cough up the rest if rangers didn't receive 20 million all together and we got 22.5 million

Agree2 Disagree4

I would wait to see if the corporate pledges materialise given that Kate Burgess in the FT likened the share issue to a "turkey with a short sell by date. It may look delicious on Christmas day but will not smell so good in a few months."
Al

Agree10 Disagree4

My understanding is that the figure is CGs released number. I find it difficult to believe fans upped it from £1.6m to £5.2m in the last 18hours.
I also think CG has simply added £17m in pledges rather than hard cash shares sales.
We shall know on Wednesday when the stock exchange opens at 0800hrs which investors have how many shares. I don't think one guy buying £1m can be called a fan!

Agree10 Disagree2

Think you will find that CG wanted £27 million so thats a shortfall of almost £5 million when is he going to pick up the tab on those shares or was it more lies just to get the fans on side.

Ian

Agree6 Disagree1

Except in june the club wasnt on the stock exchange so the fans couldnt buy shares

Agree2 Disagree3

@5...after GC acknowledged the institutional investors will top up the fans backing....therefore the 22m isn't in the bank yet so to speak...not only will I wait for my original post comments and add the 10m that CG stated on sky that would be set aside for players next year!!

Agree2 Disagree0

Now listed on AIM .over 65m shares
bought at a valuation of £46.5m not to bad to begin with.
AJM.

Agree1 Disagree1

Man I love seeing all the greeting faced timothies trying to come up with more reasons and excuses on how things are still bad down ibrox way lol really you lot are a blast. Ps at least now it is apparent why parkheid isnae full for league games they have no money down parkheid way named in the top 5 of most deprived areas in Scotland. Come on Celtic step up to the plate supposedly with all this cash you are making you could invest in some grass routes schemes for the less privileged folk of parkheid lol {The Ed039's Note - This is a banter site you tube, whats with slagging the East End of Glasgow because Celtic play there?? I was born in Shettleston you plank, you probably wont get to read this though because you are now blocked. Take note guys!)

Charles green just announced 22million was raised from share issue. Well done bears {The Ed039's Note - Before anybody says we know that is fans and institutional investors)

Believable6 Unbelievable9

But is this including the pledged 17m from institutional investors? have they actually parted with their cash yet?

i know the deadline of shares the fans could buy were today at 1pm, but thought the institutional investors bought after this deadline?

can someone clear this up?

Agree12 Disagree3

No the institutional investors were there already and the club was always going to be floated on the stock market green gave the fans a chance to buy in to this and kept his word that's why he wasn't worried if no one took them up as he knew the money was there

Agree0 Disagree7

Institutions buy on the stock exchange from 0800hrs tomorrow. Green added £17m pledges but its not sales yet.

Agree8 Disagree0

So the 17m is still pledged, not sold shares?

Half an hour left to take advantage of this once in a lifetime opportunity! Roll up & spend your last dime bears!

Believable21 Unbelievable7

Heard the fund Managers and AIM exchange lucrative fees plus tax come to more than the money raised.

Agree18 Disagree18

Shares start trading tomorrow morning on the same exchange as Celtic.
That'll be interesting.

Agree20 Disagree15

@2 when rangers and celtic shares were being traded on the same exchange before nobody even mentioned it or took any notice of it, why the sudden interest (obsession)

JG

Agree11 Disagree15

@3: can't you come up with anything original other than the witless and unoriginal 'obsession' tag? You do realise that post 2 could be from an optimistic Rangers fan? Why mention Celtic - it must be obsession or doesn't it work both ways?

Agree15 Disagree9

@JG; My god man,get yourself a life.Your the only one who mentioned celtic.Does that prove you are in fact the obsessed one?

Agree9 Disagree7

Gers finaly back in same league as celts, but aim league....

Agree1 Disagree6

@2 Tell me mate , did you think these people work for nothing.

Agree0 Disagree1

@anon 4 and @ anon 5 - can you read? If yes please do read all posts before you jump in.
I would refer you to post 2 which i was replying to where celtic were mentioned (by an optomistic bear!!)

JG

Agree1 Disagree2

@8: are you for real? You were obviously accusing #2 of being a Celtic fan. Post 3 was attacking your small-minded mentality and lack of originality. That ok?

Anon

Anon, ignore him mate he's obviously been out in the Angolan sun too long.

Charles Green is back on the blame game:

The bad timing of the share issue is HMRC's fault
The prospectuses (prospecti?) were late because of the printers!

Whit?!!

Why is everything always somebody else's fault and needs a scapegoat?

Embarrassing or what?

Foxy

Believable24 Unbelievable14

Just doing what the east side of glasgow has done for years, blame everybody else.

Agree20 Disagree17

Yeah cause if he waited another 4 weeks there would be another £20m in fans pockets. Lol

Agree7 Disagree2

@ 1) Come on mate, forget about the east end of glasgow and admit this is beyond a joke now! It is always someone else's fault. His excuses are rank rotten. Everyone in the world knows this was a bad time to be asking people to fork out money for shares but he went ahead with it anyway. The guys a clown.

Agree15 Disagree10

John MacKay asked him why a week b4 Christmas and he said it was his decision due to a promise to fans to go public before end of 2012, and that he always keeps his promises.
So hope he buys £18m worth.

Agree4 Disagree4

Think about it - don't you think CG knows that not too many supporters can fork out a minimum of £ 500 at this time of year in particular? The less the fans take up, the more for business investors to take up, thus diluting the power the fans would like to have. Quite shrewd, in all honesty, if the fans don't come forward in vast numbers then the same fans can't complain at any unpallatable decisions taken by CG et al on behalf of the investors.

Agree9 Disagree7

I have my doubts about business investors. Short or long term, where is the return on investment to come from? Rangers seemed to be running at a loss for years and there is no evidence that the team currently playing out of Ibrox are making a profit. Not much profit being made by SPL teams either.
I might be wrong, but I can't see it being attractive to business investors. Before someone jumps in with the corporate pledges; remember they are just that and may not materialise.
Al

Agree7 Disagree1

@ 5) I think that suggestion has crossed everyone's mind bud, but it doesn't get away from the cold facts that the fans don't trust him enough to buy into the club. He has tried every trick in the book. His big mouth has been his worst enemy in my opinion. He has talked and talked to the point where he has contradicted himself on countless occasions, told lies, slated teams in england which then forced him to make a grovelling apology, made claims on behalf of Man Utd about there stance on scottish clubs playing in the premiership which were then shot down buy them. Personally i have no respect for the guy, he's just a gobsh*te. Take away the stance he has taken against the SFA which all Rangers fans agree they are pleased he is fightng they're corner, if he had shut his mouth and not made all those other stupid comments and embarrassing statements a lot more people would have believed in him enough to buy into this share issue. I firmly believe that.

We will really see what he has got now because he has an awful lot of shares to buy up to keep his promise to the Rangers fans.

Agree10 Disagree2

5.) you need to be realistic. I don't know ANY fans who would not LOVE to buy into the club. The fact is nearly all of those same fans can't afford to just now
CG is either very clever or daft as a brush. Time will tell...

BB

Agree4 Disagree1

@3: careful, you'll be accused of being an obsessed Celtic fan with any more negative talk like that. There are people on here who don't like that sort of sentiment at all!

Agree9 Disagree4

This process has generated over £22m which has exceeded the figure of £20m that we set out to raise when we announced our intention to float the company on 11 October 2012.

I would like to thank our supporters who stepped up to the plate when asked to buy season tickets earlier in the season and have done so again at a time of year when money is extremely tight.

JG

Agree4 Disagree5

@10: what's the breakdown of supporter to institutional investors? If it's 25%-75% then that's not to impressive.

Agree3 Disagree5

@11 we were not trying to impress anyone, we were trying to raise 20m in working capital

Heard Charles Green last night on the radio confirming that UEFA have stated on the ECA website that Rangers are the same club with History and Titles intact. Will this stop all the sniping from our friends across the city? Personally i caouldnt care, all the true Gers fans know it is the same club. {The Ed039's Note - Can you send me a link to this statement because if it exists I can not find it on ECA website)

Believable5 Unbelievable23

I cannot find it anywhere Ed.
ECA has only accepted Newco as an associate club and that's it. If ECA had accepted Rangers as the same Rangers then it would already be a full ordinary member with its history no need to reapply. {The Ed039's Note - Thats not the case, to be a full ordinary member of the ECA you must play in your respective countries top flight and hold a licence to play European football, but they found as no break in history they could downgrade Rangers status as founder members)

Agree13 Disagree6

What radio station was that? Green has made no statements because its untrue. It would be front centre of rangers FC website.
ECA have allowed newco in as an associate. Oldco was a full ordinary member but deleted on liquidation. If it was the same club it wouldn't have needed to reapply. {The Ed039's Note - See my note above oh knowlegeable one, they have acknowledged our history, some folk just can accept it. Yes I mean you. Newco or oldco or whatever, didnt reapply, Rangers had their status downgraded)

Agree11 Disagree5

Hi Ed can you direct us to the ECA statement accepting history?
Cheers. {The Ed039's Note - Try this link http://sport.stv.tv/football/clubs/rangers/205975-european-clubs-body-downgrades-rangers-status-but-recognises-history/

Agree3 Disagree4

Well done ed. I thought we ironed this out last week!? We are still the same club, stadium, fans badges sponsors etc etc. I wonder if these people rant on about other clubs like arsenal man u and Southampton for instance? These clubs have all had different names, stadiums etc in their illustrious history's yet ni one questions these clubs?

Agree4 Disagree11

Radio clyde he was on . this man can no longer fool the honest rangers fans hes been trying to win us over he would go to any extremes. hes here to line his own pockets. he doesnt care about fans its all an act. the new rangers will go to the wire with this fool. this club needs real people who want to look after rangers interest. this will all come to a sad ending once again

Agree13 Disagree11

Well Charles Green said he wanted out quick with lots of money.
Feathering his own pocket comes to mind. This saying is actually a palindrome, the correct saying is feathering his own nest!

Agree5 Disagree2

Keep your history i say, Year 2012 ripped of the UK taxpayer and over 200 creditors.

Agree9 Disagree5

Sorry Ed Thats a link to an STV story not the ECA website. Is there a statement to this effect on the ECA website? {The Ed039's Note - Their official website doesnt look like it has been updated for months)

I wanted to invest but as i live in Australia it seems that the share issue was/is only open to UK residents. So if folk want to bang on about Rangers Worldwide fan dase helping/buying shares then i want to know if anyone from outside the UK has/can buy shares. Thanks Gers for life not just Christmas.
