I do believe if rangers apoint de boer I think money would be made available I'm no saying how much, we need to take some risk at some point when it comes to money if no we can say goodbye to the spl for the rest of our days never mind celtic getting ten in a row if king doesn't want to invest real money in the club the club he also loves he should sell up and let someone else that is wanting to take us forward do we really want to play second fiddle to celtic ever season that's if we, re lucky Aberdeen and hearts and Co are a lot close than they've ever been, warburton weir were a cheap option that didn't work results speak from there self REAL INVESTMENT IS NEEDED just my thought's warp.

18 Feb 2017 18:58:42
Aarono 76. You said if King doesn't want to invest, in reality he can't invest as he is skint. As for selling up as you put it, he has been trying to do that for a while now. King has to find money to keep our club afloat until the end of the season which is no easy task as who in their right mind would invest in Rangers when we do not even have a Monad. We also don't have a credit line to the bank. My worry is we could go into administration again.

18 Feb 2017 19:04:01
Before king came in there was no investment he came in and steadied the ship he might not be spending like crazy but we r where we are because we brought in duds warbs daughters outcasts no wonder he held back the cash I do agree it's now time to take a risk and bring in the right man if that means spending money then 45.000 season ticket money will be available if it's a big name the Rangers fans proved we will be there money needs to be there to buy at least 10 players with quality

18 Feb 2017 21:42:15
Humey, the season ticket money is needed to keep the lights on for half the season each year, then we rely on loans from the directors. Ignoring these facts which are publicly and freely available in our published accounts just leads to utter drivel fantasies like your post. When is the penny going to drop with people like you, we can't rely on fantasy sugar daddies, we need to get serious about running our club as a sensible business and forget about catching celtic for the forseeable future. Do you actually care about them enough to put the existence of our own club in jeopardy all over again? Why can't we just face the reality of our situation and stop demanding that some big rich man must appear like magic soon and come and save us!?

18 Feb 2017 21:59:39
Gor, the word you are thinking of is Nomad.

Get behind the club instead of inventing doomsday scenarios. DK made it perfectly clear where we stand with his statement last weekend. I hear that Berwick Rangers are happy to accept turncoat supporters of any other club. Just a thought?

19 Feb 2017 03:29:24
Yes BR65, nomad is correct, stupid predictive text.

19 Feb 2017 10:38:33
So he is a turncoat for not being oblivious to the dire financial situation we are in? Come on. If more fans had been like Gor we wouldn't be in this mess.

19 Feb 2017 10:52:18
Pauline blue: I agree, no rush to catch Celtic to jeopardise our club, but Robertson said money will be available to the new manager.

19 Feb 2017 11:45:33
Joscro, yes but why is Robertson saying that? Because we can actually afford to do that? or because of the implied threat, from so called fans like Humey, that if big money isn't being spent then season ticket sales will drop. You can see Robertson's dilemma, but it's a Catch22 situation that the leaders of our club need to braver to extricate themselves from. They need to be strong enough to break the cycle. They should be up front with the fans, tell them 'look, this is how it really is', and appeal to our famous sense of loyalty. Not pander to the sugar daddy mentality and lack of patience that will only lead to ruin.

19 Feb 2017 11:16:45
Am not saying that a big investment is due or there's millions to spend but would love it to happen. Dave king has done a lot to keep the lights on but there's money out there and we need to get the right people in.

it won't take £100 million to catch the other side it might just take the right manager and some good football players. I'm just thinking positive not saying it will happen over night but it's not as far away as some fans think.

br brought in 3 players and turned that lot into to a solid team they were rubbish under Ronny Deila. our players need confidence and the right man to build us up.

there's no quick fix but I won't accept they're going to run over us for years. as a season ticket holder I think I have the right to share my opinion. I might be wrong but I still believe in us as a team from where we have come from.

19 Feb 2017 11:27:37
I would hardly say king is skint, he can probably can still afford a descent curry and a few beers on a Friday night.

19 Feb 2017 22:37:58
do people really think the season ticket money comes in and that it is in the bank ready to spend on players? - it's not.

the money isn't even enough to run the club for a full season. we run at a loss and will do till we get rid of Ashley or at least that would help out.

kit deal is a joke until we have a share issue and raise some capital. there is no easy way out here, it will take time and forget about Celtic they are over the hill and far away we just have to accept that for now. I know that is hard to take but we are where we are. let's hope for three points today and 442, we need to score goals.

19 Feb 2017 12:23:10
So the consensus seems to be: 1. there may be some investment out there that we could attract, but it probably won't be that much, and we're not going back to having any real spending power any time soon. 2. The Ashley situation restricts our revenue, but even when that gets sorted out (5 years down the line) the extra revenue will help us a bit but won't restore us in and of itself to any real spending power. 3. We can't of course afford a big name manager just now and any talk of that is just wishful thinking. 4. We may, however, get very lucky and get the right (low key) manager with the right man management skills and right support from the board to make a decent fist of challenging for top spot, as money isn't everything in football.
Sanity prevails. Let's all move on to another thread before someone starts talking about Frank de Boer again.

18 Feb 2017 17:45:29

Sorru about the typos guys stupid prodictive texting lol yous will get my points 😊

18 Feb 2017 15:36:14
If anyone still thinks we should have kept Barton. They should just watch his antics today. Embarrassing.

18 Feb 2017 19:11:11
As did big Moussa as he walked off the pitch in Barcelona. Embarrassing.

18 Feb 2017 22:54:58
Just seen Barton incident absolute disgrace the man is embarrassing.

19 Feb 2017 11:18:49
Yup, didn't take him too long eh? True colours, how many times will this thug get away with senseless behaviour until no one gives him a job. Good riddance.

18 Feb 2017 14:18:27
Would like to see alnwick in goal on sunday.

18 Feb 2017 14:05:26
Honestly despise sutton, he said rangers fans need to get real, de boer would not even consider the job. well in my eyes de boer has already stated that if we approach he would definitely listen so that has to be consideration is it not chris?

18 Feb 2017 15:58:58
Sutton should come with a health warning ⚠

The guy is literally paid to wind up as many people as possible because it sells papers and gains views.

Can't honestly remember the last thing this guy wrote that I felt compelled to read.

18 Feb 2017 16:39:05
Mibi it was a case of De Boer being polite to 1 of his former clubs if we are all being truthful and looking at it from unbiased situation who is going to touch a job with no money and no chance of progressing

18 Feb 2017 16:41:59
You only have to either turn the page or flick the channel Rafbob, but your posting about him, so your helping keep him in the news, so whatever he's doing its working. If he is paid to wind up people, he's the best in the business.

18 Feb 2017 16:48:45
This is true and he definitely earns his pay.

18 Feb 2017 18:44:16
Sutton is a proper belter
He's a bankrupt failed manager and he's trying to give advice on our finances and manager issues

18 Feb 2017 19:41:44
The Guys A fist class Bell end
Sutton will get his comeuppance
Hopefully BT sports will fire his sorry Ass out the door.

18 Feb 2017 19:51:05
Guys a warmer! Constantly talking bull slagging managers etc. Easy for him to slag folk off when they can't reply . He was an average player and like his equally big mouthed mate Hartson never made it into management. Both talk Tom Tit! can't wait till we get our act together and shut them up!

18 Feb 2017 20:19:59
Tbf people saying de boers coming he's a legend. he only played 17 games. we should take tommy wright, steady the ship and get your finances sorted then think about the bigger or more lucrative managers.

saying that we are old firm fans at the end of the day and we expect stuff to happen overnight which is ludicrous at times.

19 Feb 2017 07:36:40
To be fair some of hartsons stuff is ok, sutton as above is paid to be a twit and he excells in every level, maybe all of us should give him a wide berth then that sacking might appear, won't happen if were all talking about him

19 Feb 2017 09:08:35
Ardorfc, you say "well in my eyes de boer has already stated that if we approach he would definitely listen". Actually Frank de Boer has said precisely nothing on the matter. Only his agent and his brother Ronald have been quoted in the press. And even they haven't said he's actually interested in us. If you actually pay attention to the substance of their quotes they have only made woolly statements about "he's not motivated by money alone" and "what he would look for in a club would be. " I know this because I read news reports carefully instead of taking woolly statements and half inferences as facts. The facts are that Frank de Boer has not said he's interested in coming to manage our club. Where does that leave your criticism of Sutton? I think it's called shooting the messenger.

19 Feb 2017 10:55:14
Chris who?

18 Feb 2017 11:42:01
I'm not fussed either way if a guy is a former player of ours or not as long as their the best guy for the job so just throwing this out there. if we're going down the DOF + HC route what about Neil McCann as head coach or at least head of scouting as I'm always impressed with the way he speak and how frank he is when i see him on TV and he comes accross like he'd know a decent player when he sees one what's everyones opinion like as I said i don't care if their ex employee's just as long as their right for the job.

18 Feb 2017 12:18:02
Tommy i love wee Mccann but most ex pros are great at talking and analysing games but it doesn't matter a jot when they work for a club for real, just look at Gary Neville, i think he's grrat to listen to but look what happened at Valencia

18 Feb 2017 12:49:13
gary neville couldn't speak spanish so had no chance from the start, i think we should just keep murty til end of the season and let the board take their time in getting the right man/ men, whatever they go for! we'll likely get europa league coming 4th-2nd in the league this season so can't see how it makes a difference! why spend money on an interim if murty is happy to do the job? i'm confident we'll get 4th at worst and then that's europa league first qualifiers just like coming 2nd would get us

18 Feb 2017 15:30:39
Let's see what Murty does at Dundee tomorrow. Certainly his Press Conference was more interesting that most of Warburton's and it was refreshing to hear our manager talking about how he had thought about the game. All we ever got from Warburton was 'We don't think about the opposition'. A good result tomorrow and in the next couple of games and Graeme Murty deserves to keep the role until the summer. Hopefully by then there will be new investment and a quality short list of DoF's and Managers to choose from. Who knows, new investment might also bring in a new Chairman that actually attends games!

18 Feb 2017 16:28:37
I would rather keep Murty till end of season if it gave us better chance to get things right but we know how it works bad result tomorrow and there will be calls to get rid of him. I've been impressed with the way he's handled the press.

18 Feb 2017 11:27:00
A lot of different opinions on who should be manager now or the summer etc, maybe just me but listening to Murty in the presser yesterday he handles himself really well. Impressed with the way he comes across. If he gets the right result against Dundee and the players are happy and play well I really don't see why he shouldn't just finish this season for us and start fresh in the summer which would make more sense to me. Of course this is yet to be seen how we play tomorrow which is what he is going to get judged on but seems like he could be a capable interm until the end of the season.

18 Feb 2017 14:12:43
Anyone think Roy Hodgson would be a good manager/ DOF

18 Feb 2017 14:31:31
What about Roy Hodgson as DOF and Gary Neville as head coach would have good contacts between them

18 Feb 2017 15:31:24
Hodgson would be a disaster!

18 Feb 2017 15:52:24
Why do think hodgdon would be a disaster

18 Feb 2017 19:15:00
No way definitely not hodgson that would be terrible

19 Feb 2017 10:20:47
The only chance of investment is for King to go on dragons den.
I can just see his pitch.
Am here today to ask for a £5 million investment for 5% of my company.
Questions.
What's your valuation of the club?
What's your net profit for the year?
Where can you see the company in 5 years?
What profit do you make from selling shirts?
And the questions just keep coming.
And I think you know their answer.
AM OUT

18 Feb 2017 09:02:10
Any thoughts on our starting 11 v Dundee?
Is Wilson available for selection?

18 Feb 2017 14:06:35
Alnwick Hodson Hill Wilson / Bates Wallace Hyndman Windass Toral Mckay Miller Waghorn 4-4-2

18 Feb 2017 14:12:44
The back two centre backs needs games together, not one in one out, that's will get us nowhere, keep them together

18 Feb 2017 15:32:47
The only change should be Toral in for Halliday who was a waste of a jersey against Morton. None of our centre backs are that good but we need stability so risk going with Senderos and Hill.

18 Feb 2017 19:16:38
Why does everybody want 442 does anybody really even play 442 anymore?

18 Feb 2017 19:36:24
bryan 1978, Mckay midfield, my 9 yr old grandaughter would beat him to any 50 / 50 challenge.
