Why is everyone jubilant about waghorn coming? He has a goal ratio of a goal to every 5 games, unless i'm missing something? Hope he does well none the less.

Think the boy could be used on the right wring instead of out and out striker

18 Jul 2015 22:40:34
Boy clearly had it early on for Sunderland to make him a 3 million plus player. One reason or another didn't work out needs guidance and still young enough to get that flair and confidence back. let's face it he should score for fun in the championship with a growing confidence anything is possible. Have faith in the manager he will turn out a gem will waghorn if he signs.

18 Jul 2015 23:13:17
He scored 7 in 29 games in championship a very hard league and at higher level than what we are at .he will do well for us he's a strong lad , puts himself about and will score

MylesDonald,

You could say that about every signing so far and all the players under mccoist that we have kept, but that is the point, we have a different set up now, a manager who knows this but who will coach the best out of him and the other players. Most of the players that mccoist signed were good until he de-coached? them. Warburton obviously knows with the right coaching that he will do a job.

Positive news these days, 2 wigan players could be set to join, Stevie May, I still really think we should go and get Scott Allan, Would become our best cm and also weaken Hibs, Then hopefully we can maybe sign a half decent winger for backup, a lot to ask for I agree, I cannot wait for the game next saturday tho.

Just reading up on and watching a bit of footage of Waghorn there from a couple of years back.Pace,power,2 good feet and good in the air. What more do you need?Boy was tipped for big things 4-5 years ago and it just hasn't been there for him for one reason or another.Warburton must think he can turn it around for him as he's still young enough, worth a gamble I reckon.

19 Jul 2015 11:30:49
was he not getting used out wide hense the dropping of goal ratio?

Agree0 Disagree0

18 Jul 2015 19:27:39
Andy Halliday has signed on a 2 year deal with an option of a third, Stevie May is set to sign for Rangers for a fee around 1 million pund and wigan accept bid for 1 million or 2 of their players. If this all happens ( I know we have defo signed halliday )then we are heading up. The signings are looking very positive and thethings I have heard about all the news signings and the way warburton is playing I am looking forward to the season ahead and I feel that some of the players that didn't perform that people felt they should have, for example templeton. I think they didn't adapt to the way mccoist played but I think we are ready and we will win WATP

Apart from the fact that our manager seems to be satisfied with the back up he is getting from the board, he must be delighted with the way our under 20's are progressing. I have always felt that Ian Durrant had so much more to offer than we had seen and hopefully, under Mr Warburton's guidance, his teams will produce our stars of the future.
On the playing side we seem to moving in the right direction, so let's get automatic promotion and move up a league with a good free flowing attitude to the game.

Believable5 Unbelievable4

18 Jul 2015 15:41:55
totally agree billy ian durrant took a pay cut to stay more than macoist who just stood with his arms folded like budda and lurched from one disaster to the next the first games in charge was the european escapades I knew then he would never do but durrant run the youth teams perfectly when he come up to the first and durie came in durie basically inherited a good set up but after thefirst season fell away but hopefully with a manager that will promote youth we can really turn the corner but u can't but wonder how we would have got on if macoist had went down that route in the past or even when league 2 was won had tried youth then

Big wull as a avid reader of this site and follower of all things Rangers can we stop with the super ally bashing now please this guy gave 30 years of his life to us is the all time record goal scorer that will never be beatin no in my lifetime anyway and stayed when it would have been easier to walk away granted as a manger a would say it didn't work out like we all hoped and his signings were not great but hindsight is a wonderful thing and I remember not to many gers fans were moaning when we signed Boyd and Miller the talk then was they will score 50 goals between them and we will walk the championship so come on big man let's get on with supporting our great club and not slagging a club legend we are bigger than that

Agree1 Disagree1

19 Jul 2015 11:05:15
East enclosure,

As someone who worshipped mccoist and stood up for him when my mates gave him pelters for choosing Sunderland then scoring fairly infrequently at the start, I despise the man now. He is pathetic and is just behind murray in the blame stakes for the state we are in, in 2015. So I would say, with him having the front to still be taking a wage from us, that the bashing should continue for a long, long time yet.

Agree1 Disagree0

19 Jul 2015 11:53:40
107 whilst basically agreeing we should all move on and get behind the new team and management it is all about opinions.
For every one of you Super Ally men saying Ally stayed out of loyalty and love of the club there will be a bear saying - no he stayed for his love of money.
We would all agree on his goal scoring prowess but a majority would say his years in charge as manager were tough to watch and did not in any way further the image of the club as it tried to shake off the financial humiliation.
But if there was to be a legal and reasoned verdict on Ally it would probably come down on the side of fans like Bigwull.
If Ally loved the club so much why didn't he agree to stop taking his last £400,000 when his former friend Dave King asked him?

Agree0 Disagree0

19 Jul 2015 12:03:06
I have re-read my post and BIGWULL'S, and I don't feel that the only thing that was criticised were facts. His tactics, development of youth and paying over the top for certain player's wages were ridiculous. He was a total disaster in management and, to that, there is no argument. This is not demeaning the man, just his managerial ability. Yes, he stood by the team in our hour of need, but be totally honest who would 'walk away' with the package he got to stay. In my opinion Green used him for his own ambitions, so with the lure of cash Ally went ahead and 'sold' the package to fans. I could go on, but will not, because he was a great servant to us as a player and that cannot be taken from him. Unfortunately he could not carry these skills into management.

billy b did u read warburtons article in the daily express the support he has had from the board they signed every player that they have moved for that's warburtons word not kings its good reading different headlines from the past few seasons

Believable3 Unbelievable3

18 Jul 2015 14:35:28
Bigwull, That was my thoughts, as well, when I read it. Delighted from that point of view, now pay back Ashley and start getting some income from the merchandising side. Once that is done I am sure DK will then negotiate a deal to get shot of him completely.

Agree1 Disagree3

18 Jul 2015 14:58:55
well billy I hope so because the loss of the revenue will hurt but what I was told was they are stumped at what to do with him there has been some dodgy practices happened but they gave the brothers grim assurances if they walked away they would not go after them and for some things they would need some input from them but at the minute they are still delving into things but I reckon at the end of the day it will be like macoist they will have to pay up goodman billy

Agree2 Disagree3

18 Jul 2015 15:18:59
Billy correct me if I'm wrong but even rangers pay 5million the money we get from merchandise deal is still a paltry amount I might be wrong but I seen on here that we only receive 70p from every 10pound

Agree3 Disagree1

18 Jul 2015 16:26:22
Yes hooly, your figures are not quite right but the basics of what you are saying are correct, but a little bit of something is miles better than paying a shortfall in sales. It must suit DK to hold on to the £5million against paying out the differential each year, but he is the man, so who am I to dispute the logic.

Agree2 Disagree0

18 Jul 2015 16:56:00
that could well be because sommers and co let ashley there pants down when their backs were to the wall the only consilation there is actually no interest attached to the loan but its loaded onto merchandising so that no one could say the loan agreed was detrimental to the company and the merchandising is separate deal

Agree0 Disagree0

18 Jul 2015 18:21:46
billy basically ashley has them stumped they think paying him just now would not justify the expense I think they favour paying so much /year or getting better shirt/ manufacturer to buy ashley out if the team takes off which a sucessful rangers team would put sales through the roof only time will tell

Agree0 Disagree1

18 Jul 2015 18:29:43
What the he'll was green thinking signing that merchandise deal. He is an absolute disgrace. I'd like to no if the club is still in talks with sports direct about rewriting the contracts

Agree3 Disagree1

18 Jul 2015 21:11:18
Yes hooly the deal was horrendous for us, but in my humble opinion, DK etc. are not dealing with it correctly. My opinion and my opinion only.

Agree0 Disagree0

18 Jul 2015 21:19:40
BIGWULL, your most recent post just proves the logic in getting a better deal, unless DK does not think the w&w set-up will work.
I have every confidence in Mr. Warburton, does Dk. It is time to take Ashley on, as even doubters, like myself, will back Dave King 100%, rightly or wrongly.

Esteban Cambiasso is a free agent turned down big money last year to sign for Leicester. He has turned down a new contract with them for next season. If we are looking for an experienced model proffesional he's a better option than Eustace. Worth a try surely lol!

Believable0 Unbelievable3

{Ed001's Note - he turned down big money to sign for Leicester for, wait for it, big money!}

18 Jul 2015 10:15:21

Why is it games can be changed so close to the event. We continue to attract fans from all over. My boys have been lucky, they fly up on the Friday morning for the St Mirren game, if it had been re-arranged for the Sunday they were stuffed as they fly back early on that day. How many have had their plans wrecked due to this decision. The fixtures have been out for weeks so why the delay in releasing the live games?
