At last, he's found his level. Or do you think he still has ambitions for getting in to the spain team?

Agree0 Disagree0

Good means we ain't wasting money on him, blackpool have also gave Barry Ferguson another year contract, more good news.

Agree0 Disagree0

Well Division 2 is his level, as so many on here seem to think.

Agree0 Disagree0

Barry ferguson getting another year on his contract is a weird one, he was always on his last legs at rangers getting pain killing injections on his knees every match.

It will be a little strange when Scotland's biggest team is playing her third biggest team in division one (or whatever the second tier is badged as) the season after next. Folk from around the world will be doing a bit of head scratching if they check our results- only in Scotland eh!

Believable0 Unbelievable0

Aye, only in Scotland could we have two of it's biggest clubs mire themselves so deep in debt that they expire with an inability to pay. Mind you, Hearts aren't dead, yet.

N1 you should maybe watch what you say as you never know what's round the corner eh tmwnn

Agree0 Disagree0

If I remember rightly a large amount of the Hearts current debt was accumulated during the ground reconstruction period under the Robinson/Deans regime and then transfered to Romanovs bank when he bought the club. Rather than clear the debt his bank was happy to charge the club interest on it instead and/or write it off as a tax dodge.

Welcome back to the most successful club steven smith

Believable0 Unbelievable0

Another awful signing in McCoists on going clamour to get bodies in, still he'll be company for Daly on the treatment table. Why do we need so many players to play in a mickey mouse league? and, how can we afford this? I am beginning to think these signings are a rouse to sell STs instead of addressing the real issues Ticketus, Whyte, Green, Ahmed, Sevco etc etc and who owns Ibrox of course, we need answers and still not a word from McCoist or Smith except trying to part us from our money.

OMG Stevie Smith. Unemployed for a year and did nothing in the lower ranks since leaving Rangers. It'll be div3 football next year for sure. Oh how the mighty have fallen.

to all those that say they hope hearts get treated as badly as rangers were. c'mon it wasnt the hearts team or fans that done us wrong (tho romanov wasnt slow to put the boot. in. all things come to pass)

anyone with any sense knows rangers were singled out, mistreated, it would never have happened to any other club. we all know there was an agenda with rangers driven through jealousy, hatred and bigotry. let's not kid ourselves. I said at the time at least three spl clubs would be bust due to rangers being out the picture, by the time we get back to spl. and the second season we would see the impact foolishness of these decisions, and so it is coming true. no other country would have been daft enough, whatever the situation, to treat there largest club the way rangers were treated.

BUT let's face it with the points deduction, lack of players, the chances are that they will be relegated to first division. with us winning second division, that means after next year in the first division you will have the biggest club, and the third biggest club in scotland playing in division one. meaning bigger games than the spl have that season.!

Believable0 Unbelievable0

I have little sympathy for hearts fans. I have taken a lot of stick from hearts fans I know, but what really pissed me of was after being called cheats, being accused of not paying bills, poor creditors ect. I read that one high profile hearts fan declaring that they might have dodged a bullet with the two Lithuanian companies being liquidated that it might mean hearts don't have to pay a penny. I find this statement completely stupid and two faced, but that's mp's for you.

Blueice

Agree0 Disagree0

Maybe next year will also see the Arsenal and LA Galaxy games as opposed to FC Emmen!

Agree0 Disagree0

"treated as badly as rangers were. " Get a grip. Until fan's realise that Rangers went bust a year ago there will be no moving one. Many SPL teams were in a dire financial state a year ago. It's really sad when Rangers fans take credit for their downfall. If you think about it, these teams voted not to allow a new debt-free The Rangers to the top flight, even though they knew it would be a further nail in their coffin. That may make them stupid, but does show integrity.

Agree0 Disagree0

Lol, somebody using the word "integrity" about scottish football, "get a grip"!

Agree0 Disagree0

No 4 - what would your answer be to integrity then?
Allow a "busted flush" to remain in the league, everyone roll over, pretend it didn't happen, yeah?
Wipe out the debt, start as a new entity and start spending way more than being brought in but just in the SPL and not lower divisions as is happenin now

Agree0 Disagree0

@3.
"That may make themstupid, but does show integrity"
You haven't a clue what went on mate! Every single SPL chairman wanted Rangers to remain in SPL. It was their fans who pessured them into a non decision, then they crapped out of it, and papped it onto the SFL clubs. Those fans had no idea of the financial implications. Integrity my anagram of EARS!

The biggest club in Scotland, lol. that's Celtic FC my friend and you and everyone else knows it. Keep telling yourself that and you might start believing it. Men with white coats on the way. martyc1888

@POB you say the poster has no clue but i'd ask you who were the chairmen who wanted rangers to stay. I think youl find it was very little. Its the clubs that are run badly or by supossed sugar daddies that have failed. Sounds like you believe the lies your told. Season ticket bought already I bet.

Agree0 Disagree0

To P. O. B, I respect what you say and you may be right. But I feel that there is a delusion amongst Rangers fans that all of the fans of other teams wanted them put down simply because they are Rangers and the chairmen all bowed to pressure and gave them their way. I believe Motherwell had a meeting and under 250 fans turned up. That is about 5% of their fans. Not enough to scare the chairmen. I may be that the simpler answer is that, although they would have liked to have kept the extra income flow that Rangers provide, they could not allow a club to go bust and restart debt-free in the top league. They probably would have liked you in Div1 for a year, but they had no control over how the SFL clubs would vote. And the SFL clubs voted exactly the same as the SPL and said a new club/company had to start from the bottom.

Agree0 Disagree0

@7 Will you still class yourself as the biggest club when the champions league bubble bursts, your local derby is against Partick Thistle and your loyal support struggle to fill half of your stadium as they've lost all interest, 9000 in a league cup tie last season ring any bells? also large sections of your stadium are closed to fill the bottom and make it look busy!
As for the men in white coats they are changing direction, back to you! PB

Agree0 Disagree0

@11/ Please stop this myth that parts of Celtic park will be closed it is nonsense. The area around the away support will be open to pay on the day fans that is all.

Agree0 Disagree0

@11) Not even sure where to start on that pile of garbage you just posted there lol

Right, firstly there are no top tiers / top decks being closed at Celtic park this season! Its a lie! The section which used to house you toe rags on old firm day was always a hard sell to potential season ticket buyers as they didn't get an old firm ticket in there season book so Celtic have stopped season ticket sales on that area and made it available all season long for matchday tickets/individual match purchases. THIS IS FACT! No parts of the stadium AT ALL are closing.

Its funny seeing people on here all day long pre emptively writing Celtic off for qualifying for this seasons Champions League. Failing to take into consideration Celtic's 3 qualifiers are all through the Champions route (seeded in all 3 rounds) and with new UEFA rules brought in last season the draws will be regionalised which means no daft trips to serbia or Romania. Celtic have a good chance, better than I had originally thought now i've done the homework on who we can get. This will make it even more satisfying when they qualify and give you lot some big games to watch next season. The post game reaction on social media last year is all you needed to look at to see you were all watching, every game aswell lol

Back to your dig about half fill stadiums. Have you seen the figures for attendances last year? Celtic higher average attendance than Rangers again! Same as 9 out of the last 10 seasons! Sold 44 thousand season tickets, Rangers sold 36 thousand. More facts!

If your going to have a rant don't quote bitter rants you've read on Rangers rumours or your bitter mate at work! Do the homework and get the facts. Celtic closing parts of there stadium, Rangers bigger crowds last season and Pacific shelf are just a few of the fantasies Rangers fans have been spoon fed and then regurgitated on here. Its a joke lol

Agree0 Disagree0

@13 you end with the quote "its a joke" but how long have you taken to share your wisdom about Celtic on a Rangers Banter site, a team incidentally you claim are a new club but are forever falling over yourselves to post on here about! the jokes on you I'm afraid. Back to your own site, thanks.

Agree0 Disagree0

@14: in response to the points made on the Rangers banter site about Celtic by Rangers fans (presumably) so why aren't you having a go at them too?

Its a site for banter ABOUT Rangers not just FOR Rangers fans. Telling people to go back to their own site is petty and shows you lack understanding not just of the concept of the site, but of banter too.

I stay in Arbroath. I work in Aberdeen. I have been a season ticket holder for about 8 years. The Sunday games really messed up my weekend, but I managed most if early enough.

Now I see they are talking about Friday night games. How am I supposed to get to them from Aberdeen on a Friday?

I know the club needs money, but the travelling fans are finding it more and more difficult to attend.

On a separate note - what have we done to improve the youth coaching this season? Hopefully some benifits once 2-3 seasons back in the SPL? Or have we done nothing?

VTH

Believable0 Unbelievable0

Appreciate your dilemma but don't put the blame on the club - we don't have a vote on any of this as we're still an associate club, this is forced on us by the SPFL

JMG

Agree0 Disagree0

Mate I know it is a pain but I drove to that S***HOLE in north for 5 years as kids were up there and it take tops 2 hours and you can do in 90 mins so finishing at 4 as most do on a friday these days you have plenty of time. people coming from ulster and London have far bigger shout. george

Agree0 Disagree0

Vth you need to take that up with the spfl, you can't blame rangers for this one,

On the youth set up, I think we saw enough youngsters in the first team last season to know that it is not as bad as it is being made out to be

Jg

Agree0 Disagree0

In VTH defence depending on what side of Aberdeen you work (e. g Bridge of Don ) it can take you 50 mins + to get over the Dee onto the main drag and then the speed cameras it would be tight to catch the kick off IMO
