Ed do you know what happened to that nacer barazite in the end, heard he was loaned out but a good young prospect who we should have signed but I think he might have only signed a one year contract extension so could be a possibility.

Monk (born to be wylde) {Ed001's Note - he is at Austria Wien and he has not really impressed to be honest.}

Bartley out of cup final with suspected medial ligament damage. This is a problem is we are to attack Celtic we need him because Weir is too slow for a back four now, plus Foster is cup tied.

Once again Smith lies to us about how he will approach a game, he said we will need to attack from the start but that 1st half was a disgrace. The only players who tried in the 1st half were Wylde & Lafferty. People always go on about how many trophies Smith has won & yes the history books will show that but he has been one of the worst managers tactically in our history also.
I would start Wylde on Sunday & drop Weir but unfortunately Smith will be too sentimental. . . again.
If we lose on Sunday, i want us to lose the league aswell, that way Smith will step down having won nothing in his final season & hopefully that will go into the history book aswell but i just hope McCoist doesn't play the same tactics next season.

What a load of rubbish. You are clearly not a Rangers fan if you want us to lose the league just to spite Walter Smith. I'd happily play in a negative manner and win as Smith has done. We don't play negatively in the SPL. In Europe last year we played with four at the back and look what happened remember Unirea? Smith is without doubt the greatest manager we have ever had.

Sad too see the way Edu is playing. He is still relatively young and looks as though his confidence has gone. Doesn't help the people berating him every time he gets the ball, he is the midfielder and we need him to want to be on the ball not get rid of it as soon as he gets it. C'mon Edu lets get back to the way were in the World Cup.

Are you a Rangers fan?? You want us to lose the league shut up and listen to yourself for a minute. No one could have lifted the team from its knees the way Walter did. When Paul Le Guen left we were in a mess but Walter brought the spirit back and brought back the title. This guy is Rangers when you think of Rangers you think of Walter Smith. Yes his tactics are defensive but what he has done over the last 4 years speaks for itself. I hope the players pick themselves up and give Walter the best send off they could by winning the league and cup double. Even Celtic fans take their hat off to what he has done since he came back.

Shut up you fool. Walter has given everything to the club when he didn't have to. He is the most successful manager ever in the SPL, he has won 9 titles (hopefully 10) 10 cups and got us into a European final, not bad for the tactically worst manager in our history. U hope rangers loose the title this year so Walter steps down? he is already stepping down because he can't stand fools like you who don't appreciate what he has done for the club. We should be counting our lucky stars that he is here in the first place. As for last night we were unlucky, First half was crap, second half was good and defo should have had a cppl of penalties. I feel if we go to Celtic and play the way we did in the second half we have a chance. Do agree we should play wylde and drop the man that can't turn (EDU). Honestly he has been absolutely honking for the whole season, apart from a couple of goals. As for Ally McCoist it will be the same tactics as next season, after all Walter Smith is his teacher.

Re: Simple YOU DONT HAVE A CLUE SON, Walter is the only reason we can still expect to compete with teams at this date win the last two leagues and still be in driving position this year. . Paul Le Guen anyone?

In the first half we were chasing shadows but it was a much more spirited performance in the second half. We looked much better when we changed to a 4-4-2 and Naismith made a big difference. Edu should have scored last night and we should have had 1 if not 2 penalties, plus Bougherra could maybe have done better with a few headers. We were unlucky in the second half but I would say PSV deserved it over the two legs; they are a decent team and showed more quality over the two legs.

Does anyone know how long Ness is out for? Edu had another woeful performance last night and our midfield becomes weak whenever he is playing. I would drop him for Sunday's game but there is no-one to take his place; if we play Bartley in midfield it means that Weir definitely plays and that Rangers end up sitting deep and inviting Celtic on to them.
I think Smith will play 4-4-2/ 4-4-1-1 on Sunday after the second half performance last night. I think Smith should go for Bougherra and Bartley as central pairing in defence which means Edu will have to play unfortunately, unless Smith deploys Whittaker in central midfield but its not his natural position and I would rather seem him play out wide or preferably at full back.

We have a chance on Sunday but our midfield is going to have to be much stronger than it has been recently and we also will have to offer much more going forward than we have done in previous old firm games.

:-(

We were not good enough.

End of story.

However, for a team in our current situation playing in a "sub-standard" league to reach the last 16 of a European tournament is phenomenal feat.

Well done to the Rangers, and commiserations from your fans.

Let's get it up 'em on Sunday!

Gutted about last night but the second half performance was something positive to take into Sundays game. I don't know if you all agree but I thought Naisy was brilliant when he came on gave us more fight and worked harder than anybody and he has been out for a month. Gregg Wylde looks a great prospect he could really make the left midfield spot his own. Davis upped his game second half but Mo Edu needs to take a good hard look at himself absolutely woeful display once again.I thought the team defended better without Davie Weir they could push up a lot more. Maybe that's why they sit so deep to cover his lack of pace. Hopefully a good performance on Sunday the players owe us a good Old firm victory after the last few games.

End of another European campaign but they did us proud this year. We may play in a negative manner but did you people moan in 2008 when it got us to the final? I for one am not pleased that Walter is leaving (I do want to see Ally get his chance) if the takeover doesn't happen I would feel much happier knowing Walter is there, he gets a lot out of a squad that isn't up to much. Second half we were much better so credit to Walter for changing the tactics. After tonight we need to do something about refereeing, not an excuse I would say on balance PSV deserved it, BUT two penalties plus a man sent off MAY have been a different story. Well done Rangers you did us and Scotland proud in Europe this year, the only Scottish team doing anything for the co-efficient.

I think it's a poor show Rangers fans wanting rid of Watty and Murray, what other manager would have put up with the restraints put on them and still produced, it is his love the club that has kept it together since he came back. Also DM backed his managers with serious dough for over 20 years, till he just basically couldn't afford it any longer. He is Rangers greatest ever manager, and can walk out of Ibrox with his head held high, no matter what happens between now and the end of the season. But to turn on these 2 guys, who have made the club what it is (apart from finances) is a bit wrong. Just my opinion, and not trying to cause a stir, but to blame Watty for anything is miles out.
