I know we play PT tomorrow but for the big game on Saturday I would maybe play hodson at left back with Declan John left wing. Windass in number 10 role with jack n Dorrans behind him. Candieas on right with buffalo up top. Ofcourse Alves, Cardoso and Tav at back although I worry about Cardoso and Tav defending. I'd play that 4-5-1
Thoughts?

19 Sep 2017 10:34:36
good shout blue drama as we can't attack celtic or we will be embarrassed again
id like to see rossiter sitiing in the cdm role though as for me he has a bit more about him and that's his natural position

19 Sep 2017 12:34:09
I think I'd prefer a 3-5-2 for us, give Cardoso and Alves that extra help at the back while still matching up in the midfield. I'd also not start Miller but bring him on towards the end with Candeias playing just of Morelos. Would prefer to put Rossiter or even Barjonas in for Windass but can't see Caixinha going with that.

Foderingham

Cardoso Alves Wilson

Tavernier Dorrans Jack Windass John

Candeias Morelos

19 Sep 2017 13:05:39
Rossiter is injured so won't see him for a while.

The weakest area of Celtic's team is their defence, no doubt about it. This may be because in domestic football, it is never put under any pressure. Lustig can be got at, Gordon is rash and poor with the ball at his feet and their centre backs are suspect. On that basis, I hope Gers start with Herrera and Morelos up front and if necessary go long for the first 15 mins. let's try and play the opening part of the game in Celtics half for once. We have tried sitting deep and packing midfield and on every occasion it has failed and Celtic have dictated the game. Drop Miller, go 2 up front, get the ball in their half as quickly and often as possible and let's pile on the pressure, we are at home for gods sake and they are not world beaters.

Good post Eldersliebear

19 Sep 2017 18:10:04
I feel or perhaps hope that some of the injuries might be a blessing in disguise. I'm not saying I welcome them but niko shouldn't be anywhere near the starting 11 on Saturday that's not based on ability but the lad lacks pace and he's a liability when it comes to the ferocious tempo of an old firm. We'll miss Wallace but I'm excited to see what DJ can do and if Miller is available or not we could be doing with the height and presence of Herrera and maybe not is the time (not now then when) the Pens steps up and shows he's a big time player to match his transfer fee. We need game changers in the team come sat and I think the boys mentioned have bags of talent so step up and show it! a draw or an old fashioned Walter era grind for the win would suit me we have to set up to frustrated them and not let them dominate the midfield like the have done, well since we pumped them at Hampden.

19 Sep 2017 23:19:25
Rossiter is injured again, unfortunately

18 Sep 2017 19:51:36
No great loss if Windass is banned tbh but just wondering why the Hibs manager should get away with an inflammatory gesture to thousands of Rangers fans yet we are to lose a player for less? Can anybody explain to me exactly how this works?

18 Sep 2017 20:11:52
Good point seeker. I was thinking the same. A precedent has now been set. Gesturing by players/ managers/ coaching staff must be allowed.

Just a pity big windass isn't as brave on the park as he is trying to wind fans up.

18 Sep 2017 20:12:53
There is no action to be taken against him. What are you talking about?

18 Sep 2017 20:20:20
Inflammatory gesture? Holding your ears? Grow up! .

19 Sep 2017 10:37:32
w*anker sign by windass and lennon done the get it up ye gesture so yes inflamatory gestures tttsmark2 what don't u understand about that

19 Sep 2017 15:16:36
I think you'll find that it was a straight arm giruy type gesture as well. Suppose you are another with selective vision and feeling a bit precious about your bigoted ex captain and manager. And as for Windass I had heard that he had a good chance of getting a ban for his gesture. Is this not the case?

19 Sep 2017 23:15:11
Lennon gave as good as he got, fair play in my book. Let it go and move on. Its getting silly now.

19 Sep 2017 23:16:12
TTTSmark2 no the cupping of the ears to me is just banter and giving back some of what he was getting but the under arm get it right up you is crossing the line Halliday did it against Morton and was punished for it so Lennon should have been punished the precedent had been set as for Windas silly but again banter but for me it isn't a big deal just all should be treated the same

19 Sep 2017 23:18:02
Aye right. Wee Lennon holding his ears is an inflammatory gesture! surely you've got to be kiddin'. If Rangers had won that match then it would have been hilarious but because they got beat it annoyed the daylights out of all you greetin' faced fans.
I think there's more important issues to to be concerned about than Neil Lennon's ears! . like the signings of Pena, Herrera, and Dalcio, and of course Caixihna himself. and that's just for starters. I'll leave it there for now.

18 Sep 2017 19:04:57
Bad news bears Jordan Rossiter is injured again
Good news, LEONARD Rossiter is available and is more mobile and has more pace lol.

18 Sep 2017 19:32:32
That's really funny timalloy considering Leonard Rossiter is dead. Is that the best you can do? Pretty poor stuff which says a lot about the type or person you are

18 Sep 2017 20:03:32
Sparky, this is the same guy who thinks Brazilian is a language. I'd just scroll by kid.

19 Sep 2017 10:43:38
i would say typical celtic fan but most celtic fans i know aren't that low

19 Sep 2017 15:05:12
That's him for you Sparky, Classless.

19 Sep 2017 15:06:06
Everyone on this page knows that Brazilian is a language, just look back in the archives, us outsiders don't want to upset you by pointing out the error of your ways.

19 Sep 2017 23:11:20
Really no funny timalloy, Leonard rossiter died at a fairly young age, 57 of a heart defect that has killed many a young athlete, think you should have a long think before you submit any more of your sick jokes, makes us all wonder what kind of people you have associated with all your life that makes you think it's funny to make jokes about other people's tragic misfortune.

18 Sep 2017 16:18:04
I do appreciate that it is early days in terms of the players that I am about to mention, but, so far.
Who would we rather have in our team going into Saturdays game.

Garner or Herrera
Halliday or Pena
Waghorn or Dalcio

For me. the choice is clear. I would have the three "duds" over Pedro's boys any time.
Whilst you can't argue with Bruno, Cardoso, Jack, Dorrans and Alfredo - I think the money wasted on the above players is nothing short of shambolic (so far)

18 Sep 2017 18:14:22
herrera n pena a would av kept waggie tho

18 Sep 2017 19:34:09
Herrera instead of Garner are you kidding? Garner was far more mobile and put himself about Herrera is a carthorse who is awful

18 Sep 2017 19:48:58
Cardoso hasn't impressed me.

18 Sep 2017 19:49:31
Utter tosh, they had their chance and didn't do it Waghorn wasn't even in Ipswich team on Sgive these guys a chance they have moved from another country to play here not all transfer will work same in any team but far to early to judge but the player you named had more than enough time but failed move on.

19 Sep 2017 05:56:07
Should have spent the Herrera/ Pena money incoming money from the sales on one really good player imo and used more of the youth team as cover, Jamie, Miles and Sergi for instance. I really hope Pena gets his confidence though as he's a midfielder we could all be raving about him in a few weeks that's how quickly opinions change but so far he just can't seem to get the weight of his passes right at all

19 Sep 2017 09:14:59
Id rather have Warburton's 3 duds in this case but I'd also rather have Alves n Cardoso than Hill and Kiernan. I'd rather have Morelos than any of our strikers last season, Rather Candeias than Forrester, Rather Jack n Dorrans than Halliday n Holt. should I go on?

19 Sep 2017 10:52:52
these boys especially dalcio have not had enough game time to be called shambollick infact "fellow supporter" they might still turn out to be very good aquisitions.

look at ally mccoist almost punted he was that poor and turned out to be one of the greatest rangers players of all timeso be patient and don't judge too quickly.

rangers have a long way to go but we are still on a journey and keep kalm because we will get back to the top

19 Sep 2017 15:25:39
Peds your either dogging the school or work cause your on here 24/ 7

18 Sep 2017 10:05:40
Why are people so quick to give Pedro stick. I mean c. Mon not only are the media giving him crap every day but our own fans are at it too. how about give the guy time. yeah we won't win the league this year. but we add 1or2 players in Jan then another couple of quality in the summer. we will get there but we must giv him this season to build and next season to go for the title. managers are sacked to quickly now. get behind the man. everyone else isn't. so we should.

18 Sep 2017 11:09:43
Bang on mate, people are wanting instant success which was never going to happen. we are competing for 2nd for at least another season. i like the bones of this team and i think once properly gelled will do well. i don't think any other manager would of made really any difference without silly amounts of money thrown at it.

everybody was going nuts at the thistle game, but we won't be the only team to drop points there. we will be a better team but just now we have to back the staff and players at our club or else we could end up making the issues twice as bad. do we expect to compete with celtic? come on they are financially secure have some really good quality players and have also been together for a while. we will get there just not tomorrow.

18 Sep 2017 13:01:11
I agree about the thistle result. They will take points of most teams at fur hill and will comfortably finish in mid table probs top 6

18 Sep 2017 13:38:11
Not the only reason but have a feeling one of the main reasons is because of all the noise the media creates after any dropped points, or even when we win and don't play well.

We're even getting them making jokes about things Pedro says in press conferences. What chance does the guy have when not only are blatantly obvious enemies are making jokes at your expense, but also your own supporters?

Every Rangers manager should get full support until they're no longer in the clubs employment, regardless of how anyone feels.

As they say "If you shout loud enough, it becomes the truth".

18 Sep 2017 14:09:06
We are lacking in creativity, a lot of us wanted Walker for that very reason. If Celtic loaned us Sinclair for next Saturday's the match would be close lol. Dorrans needs to step up yeah great goal but posted missing for the rest of the game. I rarely post my ideas on formats but 4231 with Jack and Rossiter the 2 both playing box to box looks good to me.

18 Sep 2017 14:28:26
Agree about Walker Bluepete.

Think in hindsight it was obvious early on we weren't going to get him this window. When they put a million price tag on him, we should've started looking elsewhere.

Having a Manchester City u23 player in Nemane as our only definitive left midfield option is scandalous.

18 Sep 2017 14:49:10
Celtic and Aberdeen have both beat Celtic at firhill. The SPFL is a really poor standard and no one can give Celtic a game. They are winning the league at a canter.

We have a 50% win rate and the managers 2 big signings from Mexico don't look like they are going to make it.

Big game on Saturday. We need a result badly but most fans will know the outcome on Saturday with the team Pedro picks before a ball is kicked.

Rossiter injured again. He is another who doesn't look like he's going to make it either.

18 Sep 2017 18:30:35
2 questions guys.
1 If we win on sat and u go 8 points behind is the league over?
2 Does Pedro stay in his job?

18 Sep 2017 19:39:30
Pedro will be sacked either at Xmas or end of the season his appointment was strange and the results have been poor. He has managed the team to its worst home defeat to Celtic, the worst ever in Europe and he lost the long unbeaten home record to Aberdeen. He buys the truly awful Herrera when he could have got Moult and Walker for round about the same money.

18 Sep 2017 19:41:56
I agree, Pedro needs to see the fans are behind him as do the players . Saturday is the day we need to let every one see it . Divide and conquer that's what the press and other clubs are trying to do to our club

18 Sep 2017 19:45:01
You need to remember that we have spent about 7-8mil this year and we are struggling. Aberdeen hibs hearts have not spent a penny really and they are more than a match for us. How much more time should we give the team to gel, christmas, end of season. You can't spend 7-8mil in the spl and think that stuttering performances are acceptable then think of every excuse you can to defend it.

18 Sep 2017 19:50:50
The supporters need to get behind him and its easy to say now but if Celtic win 3 or 4 nill then everyone will be at it again so at this rate Rangers are never going to catch Celtic. Rangers need to stick with a manager for 3 years just to steady the ship

18 Sep 2017 21:04:00
I am not sure where all this talk about the supporters NOT getting behind the team comes from.

The atmosphere at Ibrox this season has been fantastic. The first 20 mins against Hibs was electric. Pedro and the players always get warm applause and everyone is rooting for the team to do well.

This forum allows fans to share their views and there are a lot of people, myself included, dying for Pedro and the team to do well but as each game goes by I am not seeing a great improvement from last season.

Last year Warburton beat Aberdeen and hearts just before Christmas and outplayed Celtic for 45mins in OF game. We even had a host of chances in 2nd half. Compare that to the games against hearts and Hibs this season.

I just don't see an improvement from that time and can't see our team going on a winning run.

Come Saturday Pena, Herrera, windass and whoever pulls on the blue jersey will be given a heros reception by myself and 40,000 rangers fans in our stadium. Time for the team, 7 games into our season, to stand up and be counted.

19 Sep 2017 10:22:53
"Rangers need to stick with a manager for 3 years just to steady the ship"
Even if the manager is poor and there is no improvement week by week, Johnnymac?

19 Sep 2017 13:29:07
aberdeen already have a well gelled team harts where lucky to take points from us and hibss needed the ref on their sid.
rangers will maybe finish second with aberdeen pushing us all the way for it but let's get some perspective here, rangers bought a lot of new players qand loaned dalcio , pena will come good and is too early to say he is a dud. herrera looks weak but again too early to say but look at the other signings cardosso is better than kiernan all day alves best defender we have had in years candias more crosses into good areas than anyone else in the league morelos goals speak for themsevlves jack and dorrans are coming along aswell soo all in all a couple of signings that may not work out is to be expected as no one makes that amount of signings without having 1 or two flops so please stop the pedro bashing and stop acting like the unwashed

19 Sep 2017 15:31:06
The guy can't manage a team like rangers, we have not had a decent manager since wattie left.

19 Sep 2017 15:10:31
Baz the bear if Warburton was doing such a good job why did he get fired?

18 Sep 2017 10:31:58
Referring to my last post regarding Pedro for him not being the right man long term, which received some responses accusing me of Pedro-bashing, I would love to see the guy succeed, I would love his signings to do well and would love him to close the gap on Celtic. But what I was saying is that on the evidence so far I am struggling to imagine it happening.

Can anyone really say that we have played well consistently over a couple of games since he has took over? I accept we aren't going to win the league this year I expected that from the beginning, but what I did expect was to get second place and I worry that we won't get that either as we can't win 3 games in a row and slip up Against every half decent team put in front of us.

18 Sep 2017 10:57:04
They were not ready for Europe as a professional club top to bottom not good enough

18 Sep 2017 11:11:18
Have to agree Graeme, l do not pretend to be a footballing tactician or expert but we have dropped to many points to teams we should be taking 3 from every Time, Our stadium seems to be an arena for other clubs now. I do think we are miles behind them and it will be years before we challenge imo.

I was really optimistic with Pedro, l didn't know some of the players but was hoping they would light up Scottish football. I am not calling for his head instead l have lowered my expectations. I just hope we come good but it seems to me we are struggling to put teams away.

18 Sep 2017 19:41:47
The result in Europe was shocking he should have been able to field the youth team and beat them. All Rangers fans want him to succeed however in my opinion it isn't going to happen and we will never win the league with him in charge.

18 Sep 2017 19:42:45
