We did well considering we had 5 changes. Barry McKay was the standout for me. Both goals were well worked, nice moves. Dominic Ball came in for Kiernan and didn't put a foot wrong, Scoreline should have been more, with a stonewall penalty turned away, we hit the post and Holt missed a bit of a sitter. Other than that, 2 goals and a clean sheet, good workout.

Alan Stubbs is proving himself to be nothing more than a bitter clown of a man after his recent comments regarding warbuton and his rangers team, I mean at what point have we spent a lot of money and he then says buying good players means they will gel quicker! What an arse of a man, I bet it hurts his face just mentioning the name rangers

Gota love it when Celtic fans come on rangers forums to have a go at us to try and make themselves feel better. Aye u's swiped SA from under our noses, well done but apart from having one up on us all that's done is papered over the cracks. Buy a player in a position u do not need to strengthen, where's the 4,5,6 million pound striker u all crave? Need new defence because after watching the goals u lost the night your in big trouble next week and to top it off a guy who couldn't kick his own arse when he was at Celtic hits u for a double. If you look up Zelalem Newsnow you will see many reports touting that the boy will be going to one of three teams in the English Championship.
However, further scrutiny reveals that they all mention that the source is the DR. Only one other paper is mentioning this story - The Mirror (sister paper of the DR) who actually say that it's source is the DR.
Talk about making a story about nothing.
IMO it is only mischief making from the DR and another Scottish media outlet making a positive RFC story into a negative one.

I've been very very impressed with MW so far.
Compared to the managers we have had in recent years, he seems so much more professional.
He talks common sense and everything seems to be positive and straight to the point.
And the contacts he has in the English game are great. There would be no chance of any of the previous managers trying young loan players from spurs and possibly arsenal. The brand of football we are playing is clearly one of the reasons.
As spurs wouldn't want to send any of their younger players up if we were still playing the Ally brand of football
Keep it up MW

Loan deals

Hi all have been reading some posts that RFC youths will not get a game if loan kids come infrom England, so RFC kids must not be good enough because of being held back from getting a game in seasons before or the loan players are different to what there is at Murraypark , on the bright side rangers could turn there heads and sign for rangers after there loan , then play well and we then sell them on back to EPL , and make money from them (like Ajax)

I welcome your comments

Funny how the main report claiming Zelalem might not come to Ibrox is in the Daily Rebel, but how can you believe a website report that gets the player's name wrong (ZALALEM) and can't get the legendary Jurgen Klinsmann's name right either (JURGAN)! Scottish media? The most inept, incompetent, narcissistic, bigoted idiots in the western world.

Is it true that MW is still staying in a hotel? Is this just a case of not finding a house yet? Probably abit paranoid here but is anyone else concerned about this? Surely if he's here for the long term he would have settled down somwhere? Forgive me if i'm being thick.First post by the way lol

Believable0 Unbelievable1

{Ed001's Note - how long do you think it takes to buy a house? Especially with a job like his, which takes up a lot of time, I wouldn't stress over his living arrangements yet.}

19 Aug 2015 12:33:50
From his interviews it looks like his family are staying in England. He has signed a three year contract, I don't think there's any need to worry. He had a massive rebuilding job on at Rangers, so it makes sense he stayed somewhere local. I think Weir was in in the same hotel.

I honestly don't think this should cause any concern.

Hi mate, Mark put on his twitter the Thursday before the St Mirren game that he was getting ready to move in to his new apartment. His family were up for the St Mirren game to help get settled. Mark is not daft, he did not know which way matters would pan out with Rangers. He clearly did not wish to sell up down south, move his family up and then if his team did not perform he got the boot a few months later. He is being sensible about it, the way things are going on the park I don't think there is any fear of it now. Possibly end of the season he and his family will make a decision. FYI his family loved Ibrox and the love felt by the support, both Mark sister and daughter are interacting on twitter with the fans and both expressed their love of Glasgow and the team and the fans. I am sure this makes the family decision easier. Furthermore Marks kids are all older and working professionals.

Enough though with the conspiracy theories and looking for stuff that's not there. Seeing to much of this on forum. We used to take the mickey out of Celtic fans for being paranoid. I understand some fans need convincing after the last few years. The clubs finances are stabilising, our wage bill has dropped significantly, the loans have been replaced by friendly interest free loans from long term wealthy supporters of the club. I have known John Gilligan for 20 years & met Paul Murray on a half dozen occasions they love this club and won't let anything bad happen to it on their watch. The less money we spend now the more to rebuild for the SPL. Mark Warburton has spent £1M and built a team to fear in the Championship and we will give some premiere sides a good game in the cups. I wish fans would cut out the anti King nonsense, they conspiracy theory's and hate blog writer such as mad Phil and just back the club and the team. So far this board have done extremely well.

Onwards and upwards.

Mark Warburton is easily the manaerial coup on the decade, the guy has great trust in youth, plays an attacking style with freedom.

He has real contact in the youth system and managers trust him with their players. Loan system is a great way to add some hungry talented players to fill out a squad. Some of these loanees only have year left too.

Our squad for under 600k - remarkable.

Long may he continue!

I would like to know where all the suggestions we are bringing the Chelsea boy in came from?
MW has only ever said one more loan and Eustace.
If anything I reckon it was Swift or Zelalem and not both.
as for the doubters who would rather we played our youth instead of Zelalem I'm afraid that horse has bolted. Coisty had the opportunity and blew it. It is better for Rangers to bring in a few players to bolster squad and loan out our own youth for experience.
E.G. Murdoch could either sit on our bench, maybe get a handful of games behind Eustace (assuming he signs) and not really develop at all. Or we can loan him out, he gets more games and we bring in a better player who in turn grows more. At the end we get Murdoch back having improved and hopefully ready to take the step up.
In addition you may get the odd player who loves being here and wants to stay (like Weiss).

Believable1 Unbelievable0

{Ed001's Note - Rangers held talks with a number of English Prem clubs regarding loans, Chelsea, Liverpool and Arsenal all gave options of which players they would be willing to consider loaning to Rangers. It is very likely Swift was one of the options, hence the stories.}

19 Aug 2015 10:07:24
i doubt if the Arsenal lad will join us, with 3 English championship sides wanting him, he will probably opt to stay down south, can't say I blame him, some of our championship venues are barren to say the least, and wouldn't impress anyone. Its a sad reflection of the Scottish game these days. However, I think we have enough of a squad to get the business done this season, Next season will be a different matter.

Everyone is entitled to their opinion - that is the basic fundamental of a democracy, so it is.

My humble opinion is that this club is playing great football. Whether that football is good enough to beat ceptic is neither here nor there. We are good enough to beat the teams in our own league - that will do for me.
However, if in a few months time we are progressing as we are now I think we will be able to beat most of those in the SPFL. Such is the state of Scottish football it would not an insurmountable task to reach our top level - take a look at Hearts.
Mind you I do not think that this is MW & DW challenge it is Europe that will be their main challenge. It is this sphere where they will be most challenged. How do I know this? I got the nod from John Collins.
It is sad that the media negativity towards RFC continues hopefully this will make us stronger and better.
Reports all over the media that the young lad from Chelsea is now wanted by a number of clubs. More paper talk? Who knows!

Hey guys,

We seem to have a pretty big squad and there's talk of bringing in 1 or 2 more in the next couple of weeks.

I was just wondering if there had been any news of any players leaving as we seem to have a few too many at the moment, especially as the manager is known for throwing youths into the first teem as well.

I have only heard a slight rumour about Zaliukas being free to leave. Surely more will be leaving.

Also I don't understand why people are complaining about the Loan signings. If we can prove that we are a club who can nurture and enhance these young talents then it will only make us a more attractive club for players to sign for in the future and help rebuild our broken reputation.
We will reap the rewards once we are back in the top division.

Believable4 Unbelievable1

19 Aug 2015 09:23:22
Hey Dunc, i'm pretty certain Zal SHOULD leave. he won't get game time and his competition is a level or two above him. The loan signing are a stoke of genius. Complacency will not happen in this team. Wilson and Kiernan now have Ball breathing down their necks, Mckay/ Temps/ have just witnessed what Oduwa can do. They now need to up their game or lose their place. If we get Zelalem in then Law will effectively be benched. He isn't good enough to compete against the talent of Zelalem.

Agree3 Disagree0

19 Aug 2015 12:25:52
I agree, competition is crucial.

I do think some of the lads who have been here pre Warburton are a lot better than they have showed in recent years. It seemed obvious that talented players went backwards in recent years and didn't progress after joining the club. I think its maybe unfair to judge performances under Ally as it's clear whatever he was doing wasn't working.
Law, Temps, Clark, all did well at their clubs then went backwards as soon as they signed. I think they should be given a chance under a competent manager before being ruthless.
I also feel a bit for MCregor as he was the only one putting in a shift last term.

Believable2 Unbelievable0

18 Aug 2015 21:13:35
For me MW and DW have completely transformed RFC. They have proven that they have an eye for a player and their attention to detail on the pitch is second to none.

I just hope that The Board buy into their vision and allow them to completely restructure the club from youth football to senior level.
To allow that The Board will now need to be seen to start this process soon, particularly the scouting system and it's infrastructure.
Dave King is an accountant, and I believe that his background in accountancy is ensuring that he is leaving no stone unturned in his new career and Chairman. I believe that DK will bring RFC to a new level quickly and succinctly.
We are privy to a new era in Rangers football, an era that is exciting and enthralling, an era that will see us rise to the top where we belong. We are on a roller coaster that cannot be stopped.
Sit back and watch the good times roll.
