as I said before today. AGM complete non-event. no AOB. some questions asked ( apologies ed. ). but come on. why wasn't the obvious question asked. how much money is left?. or no other difficult questions.
Perhaps we had easy questions from plants.

bad day for bears. how much money is actualy left

Believable0 Unbelievable0

The question was asked but like many other questions they were never really answered so either you weren't there or you just don't listen

Agree0 Disagree0

Is it really a bad day? Only time will tell but there's not way this board are going to run us into the ground, can someone tell me why they think they might?

Agree0 Disagree0

@2 I still can't believe after whyte and green you make quotes like time will tell, I GIVE UP, what's the point anymore trying to convince people like you.

Agree0 Disagree0

N2 have you been sleeping or trippin for the last 2 years they win agm one day then tell us about cuts needed the next day they will skin us at every chance until they are bought out

Agree0 Disagree0

@3 and 4 You never answered my question, why would they run us in to the ground? I know what happened in the past two years and I also know that if players are sold in January then alarm bells will start to ring but as it stands we are on track, with a good team, to get back to the top without debt.

Agree0 Disagree0

N5 they are currently running us into ground players wages amount to 8million staff wages 10million they run us downward then eventually sell to another mob of asset strippers that will get scraps until we are bought up by support or people knowing to to have rangers interest at heart its a long way back unless something happens shortly

Agree0 Disagree0

N5 the main reason they are running us into the ground is because they don't care about rangers fc or any other club they are only interested in bragging about how much money they have no interest in our club whatsoever

A dark day for the club. Investors have ignored the fans their bread and butter. To not act is to allow the club to suffer further embaresment. I will be staying away in protest after 16 years a season ticket holder I will not fund the who pilfer the club for their own gain. Even if they had Stockbridge stand down I would have accepted that summers & co were sincere in governance and taking the club forward. Its still the secret society it was yesterday.

Believable0 Unbelievable0

I could not agree more. I too will not return to Ibrox until as a minimum Stockbridge is removed. The board say they need a 120 day review to put together a robust business plan and strategy. Guess what - just in time for the renewal of season tickets.

An empty Ibrox is the only way these guys will listen as the share price drops and their investments disintegrate. Rangers are supposed to stand for pride, loyalty and behaving in respectful honourable way. There is not too much of this in evidence over the recent past.

Are we really prepared to accept the lies and deceipt for a 3rd year running.

We need to wake up and act.

Agree0 Disagree0

If the fans stay away that will effectively kill the club, and allow the board to sell up and then blame us for killing the club or am I just being a drama queen. thing is I believe this is what has been their agenda all along?

Agree0 Disagree0

We are between a rock and a hard place for sure. I really feel for all the season ticket holders, especially the ones going for decades. These are the guys that built the club.
The board members say they want peace with the fans, to regain trust. Get that finance boy away. If you can't sack him phase him out. If they were genuine about going forward these promises of 120day plan etc should have been done when Mather was here. Some sort of ultimatum should be proposed. The fans are Rangers even if we call Hampden our home ground. life could be worse! Merry xmas to all! YOYO TOSHIO (have a great new year in Japanese)

As a wise man once said "I cannot teach you violence, as I do not myself believe in it. I can only teach you not to bow your heads before any one even at the cost of your life".

Agree0 Disagree0

Act then!! 233 quid each as I posted earlier

JG

Agree0 Disagree0

I feel that us fans need to stop the protests and let Wallace and the board have the 120 days for their plan to show us they are the people to take us forward only then will we know and also this still leave us time to decide wether if we are going to back them or not but they will need that 120 days without any dramas from fans if they're to get other people to invest

Agree0 Disagree0

20 Dec 2013 11:43:06
120 day what just as the January window slams shut having sold Templeton, wallace, law and McLeod. Wake up man. You can not listen to this board.

Agree0 Disagree0

@7 I don't think Wallace made the plan up the first day he started and also sellin those players still wouldn't be enough money they need so here we are everybody even the requisitioners think Wallace is decent but there is still people like yourself who are against them I don't trust most on the board but 120 days isn't that long for us to see what they can do and I very much doubt they would sell these players and ask the fans to pay more come next season

Agree0 Disagree0

@7 120 is 4 months taking us to mid April, if I am not mistaken the transfer window shuts end of January, wake up!

Agree0 Disagree0

N7 the season tickets are upfor renewal then is this a co incedence wake up

well nowts changed after the AGM, as we knew result 2days ago!!so no answers regarding who owns ibrox etc. The look on ally's face ws priceless, after screwing the club for over a million, yet he's cheered on & has the backing from short sighted fans. like cheering on someone who has burgled yer house!!

Believable0 Unbelievable0

Great post couldn't have put it better myself

Agree0 Disagree0

Tell me someone asked who owned the assets, if so what was the answer

Agree0 Disagree0

Spot on mate, so I sincerely hope that part of the endorsed board's cost cutting strategy is a review of the payments made to our manager and coaching staff.
I would love to be a fly on the wall when he looks for a transfer budget in January.

N2 the question was asked but not answered

After the unsurprising events of today at least we know where we stand on several issues.

Costs must be cut in the next year whilst maintaining a squad to get us through the Championship and back to the Premier League - this will give us room to manoevre in football terms.

The events of yesterday were far more significant than today. Craig Whyte hasn't gone away and will inflict more pain and we will pay the price following his lost battle with Ticketus- make no mistake, we will be hamstrung for years because of this.

2014 is massive on and off the pitch and we may be required to save our club. Then, at least it will be ours.

WATP

Believable0 Unbelievable0

Jim - how does the ticketus verdict affect us, they took whyte to court and the verdict was that he is liable for 17m, that's it mate, ticketus cannot now say whyte never paid up so he is not liable let's take rangers to court, that's double jeopardy, it was one or the other, they went after whyte as he personally guaranteed the 17 million

JG

Agree0 Disagree0

JG Whytes might just sell ibrox and mpark to pay for it

Agree0 Disagree0

TH, that would be impossible unless he is now an estate agent. Both properties are declared within the auditted accounts.

"we have got transparency" and "we've
forced change" and Murdoch asking
fans not to boycott so apart from not
getting elected they appear to be satisfied
for now

Did anybody see tv when some shareholders spoke? Are these people even real rangers fans? Quotes such as I voted to keep this board in, it was a very quiet egm? Seriously no wonder the clubs in such bad state.

Believable0 Unbelievable0

At the start of the agm coistys face spoke the words of 'I don't want to be here', he looks a beaten man & wouldn't be surprised to see him leave! Every man has their breaking point!

Not a chance of Ally packing it in now.

Not a chance of Ally being sacked either.

He's just did the board a huge favour this last week once it became 100% obvious they would easily retain power by finally portraying himself as a man of real integrity doing what's best for the club rather than for himself.

Just wait for him to tell fans NOT to boycott.

Agree0 Disagree0

Boycott is only option now, anybody that thinks today was good for rangers are kidding themselves on.

Agree0 Disagree0

No, anyone that thinks a boycott is good for Rangers have not thought it through

Agree0 Disagree0

The best thing that could happen would be mccoist telling board if there is no new board members brought in he would consider walking away imo not that I think he would but it would get board thinking if he were to walk the board would be fecked they would need to listen instead of assuming alls well regards new season books

Agree0 Disagree0

19 Dec 2013 14:40:58
Right bears let's actually put our boycott plans into action. No point just shouting about it. Season tickets kept under lock n key till we get this much needed change at boardroom level.

Believable0 Unbelievable0

We need a rangers man in their for there to be any trust at board room level if not why should we buy season tickets? for what reason to cheer on a team that will no longer be in 2 years time

Agree0 Disagree0

Precisely. Hopefully they listen to reason aka Dave king and put Murray on the board. Doubt it tho, to high of a risk. More chance of getting caught.

Agree0 Disagree0

Gutted but expected. feel sick with all these business men only intrested in money got a feeling this club will be run into the ground and any real rangers men wanting in will be held to ransom

Agree0 Disagree0

Why would we boycott our own club? We have a Rangers man in Ally Mccoist on the inside who will look after our interests and would never do anything that was not in the best interest of RFC. The (corporate) democratic process has run its coarse, if we don't like the out come what do we do? Stamp our feet and go in a huff or work with what we have and democratically force change if indeed change is needed. If you don't want to come back to Ibrox don't come back but I'll be there on Boxing day singing ma wee heed aff.

Agree0 Disagree0

@4 Ally will look after his own interests and has been since getting the managers job. Rangers interests are secondary to him

Agree0 Disagree0

N2 I don't think dave king will invest whithout him either being on board or somebody he can trust on the board plus I think stockbridge will be hung out to dry p45 in the post

Agree0 Disagree0

@5 That is simply not true Stewie

Why can we not get all the fans and groups to unite? an easy way would be to add £5 to a season ticket, or £1 on a match day ticket. that way you instantly have 40k members, speaking with one voice. various agendas can be pursued, eg, a scheme for the fans to buy rangers. as it stands just now, the fans are quoted as having 12% of the shares, with no voice, but james easdale has 1%, and has a seat on the board! hats off to mr houston for standing up and actually doing something. it's time to take it to the next level, but as a united group.

Believable0 Unbelievable0

Hugh the fans don't have to unite, just go out and buy shares, the more shares the fans own the more votes they have.

The fans could own a controlling share of the club for 233 quid each, YES 233 quid!!

How?

There are 65,000,000 shares issued, therefore 33, 150,000 is required for a 51% majority
the fans took up approx 3, 500,000at the ipo, the fans need 30,000,000 more to have a majority of the shares
Let's take an average home crowd of 45,000, each one would have to buy 30,000,000 / 45,000 = 667 shares each

667 shares at today's price would cost around £233 quid

If we are serious stop making a noise, or whining on about it, go out and buy 667 shares, buy your son shares for Christmas, ask your family to buy you shares at Christmas or for your birthday, treat yourself

Stop feeling sorry for ourselves and take the club back, since the IPO I have encouraged fans to buy shares, if you got a spare 50 quid buy shares, if you have a win at the bookies buy shares, take a weekend off the drink buy shares, slowly we would get there

Remeber every share owned by us the fans is one less owned by the original consortium and institutions

JG

Agree0 Disagree0

Not often I find myself agreeing with you JG but you are spot on.

Agree0 Disagree0

JG,
wouldn't the current owners of the shares have to sell? The shares don't just magically appear, someone has to decide to sell first.

Agree0 Disagree0

@3 there are many share trades every day john, if I wanted to buy more shares tomorrow I could

Just as I could sell them tomorrow without there being a buyer for them

What I outlined would not happen overnight and I was trying to be constructive

but as I said every share bought by a fan is one less vote for others

JG

ED my last post was obviously too charged to post - my apologies. BUT bears it is quite simple until the supporters have 51% of the votes we must accept the decisions of this board. In the city's form of democracy they have won and the 75% of the 1350 individual bears who voted on line have lost.
To all the people who post "I do not like or trust the RST" YOU HAVE THE BOARD YOU DESERVE.

Until the fans realise that an individual shareholding of the square root of zippo won't change a thing we are goosed. Buy Rangers together or zip it. Come on here and whinge all you want but unless you do something positive i. e buy shares (if you can) then you are as much use to the Rangers we all want as a chocolate fireguard

Believable0 Unbelievable0

There seems to be a problem with so called rangers men actually wanting to buy shares or put money into rangers and I really would like to know the reason for this. Now don't say it's because they don't want to line the current lots pockets that's just p, sh. By doing nothing they are lining the current lots pockets at the expense of us the fans. They don't care about rangers and only want it if they can get it for nothing. Now if I was to be lucky enough to win big on the euro millions say £80mil. The first thing I would do is try and buy rangers of the current lot think £30mil would be enough it would be done. I wouldn't give a toss if I lined these dirty corrupt bunches pockets as long as I knew it would be the last they would ever get from rangers. And most of us normal fans would do the same. £30mil is loose change to mcoll if he is as rich as we are made to believe so why not just buy it right out himself. If he hasn't got the time to put into rangers why not let Murray and co look after it since he trusts them so much.

19 Dec 2013 15:20:15
pat I'm glad I looked in here today as your one of the people speaking sense. I have a few friends and family members who are rangers supporters like yourself and we all agree that the only way forward is to pay these people off and get your club back in safe hands. , good shout mate. tommybhoy

Agree0 Disagree0

@ 1. That's the problem though mate, McColl didn't get rich by throwing money away. do you not get it?. you want a guy to empty 20m a year of his hard earned cash down the drain that is Scottish Football.

The message is clear, costs are too high even for SPL survival. Democracy had its day today, as much as I don't like the outcome, don't look at the Bus brothers or Stockbridge with anger. look along the M8 to Charlotte Square and one SDM.

Fact - cash injection or extinction
Fact - Mcoist, McDowell, Durrant £1.5m per year.

Aye Ally. as you said today. "The fans are an inspiration". 800k a year would certainly inspire me to get out my bed in the morning. and it's the fans that pay it!

Agree0 Disagree0

If jim mccoll and dave king put up 20 million each they would have there moneys worth back by 2016 if they choose to sell its like money in the bank and they would both be idolised by the rangers support forever

Agree0 Disagree0

20 Dec 2013 10:42:49
Ayr bear. Yes McColl did not get rich by being stupid with money. But the fact is he is supposed to be a rangers man and he is supposed to have money so why not buy it just now then come up with a plan to allow the fans to buy it from him over a set period of time say 2 years. Now I'm no financial genius but rangers are supposed to be a massive club with at least 300,000 supporters in Scotland alone so here's my idea. Why not get fans to sign up to a tenner a week going into rangers for the running of the business now even in these hard times surely there is 50,000 supporters out there who love rangers enough to do this in a drop of a hat that would raise £26 mil a year. Season tickets need to be raised to about £600 per season this would amount to around £24 mil on figures of 45,000 being sold then add in sponsorship money hospitality kit sales food and programmes say another 5/7 mil. That makes a grand total of 55 to 57 mil in income per year. These figures are well within reality so why does no one concerned with rangers manage to figure this out. To be honest it's beginning to dawn on me that nobody cares about rangers enough to risk there own cash which I'm my opinion means eventually rangers will go bust again. But at this rate so will every other team in Scotland. Rangers and the whole of Scottish football need major financial investment fast.

Agree0 Disagree0

N5 I agree with you although I hate to put it in laymans terms we need a fergus mccann

First post on the forum, so be gentle. It strikes me that the AGM will not be the endgame? I think this was just part of the strategy from McColl/Murray et al. It's not a foregone conclusion but we can probably assume that the current board have enough votes to cross the line. Hopefully the former Blue Knights will start buying shares directly or setting up companies to acquire shares in small enough blocks so that the share price is not over-inflated and that they keep a low enough profile until the time is right to make a play. Unfortunately, we have guys on both sides who believe that they are clever and are more interested in a financial / legal chess game than progressing an honest, transparent transaction that all of us laymen can understand. If we can untangle our club from this web of propaganda how much would it really cost to buy a control of Rangers? I know it won't be the £5.5m that Charlie paid, but shouldn't circa £15m be enough? I know there are lots of known unknowns, I just wondered what other Bears think.
RTID

Believable0 Unbelievable0

Op I think if 15million was enough to buy rangers dave king would buy lock stock and barrel so ide imagine its a lott more than that maybe double and add a bit yet but current board know most supporters want them out so heres hoping eh

Agree0 Disagree0

I was told through the RST that a 1% stake would cost circa 315000 pounds.

Agree0 Disagree0

Notahappybear - welcome on board

how much would it cost to buy control of rangers? good question but not as simple as you would think

take into account there are 67,000k shares issued,
to have overall control someone would need to own 51% of that or 34, 170K shares
thats straightforward, but when someone gets to around 30 odd % or 22,000k let's say @ 35p = 8m more or less, then they must make an offer to buy all 100% from existing shareholders so they could end up having to buy 100% of the shares at x pence per share

Also need to consider that shareholders do not have to sell if they don't want to and not many would sell at a loss. If someone wanted to buy they would have to keep raising their offer price until it was acceptable to individual shareholders, that's why its normal to see a companies share price shoot up prior to any takeover bids

So back to your question, because of the above it is not possible to put a figure on it, it would have to be negotiated with existing shareholders but between 20 and 25m should get you there

hope that makes sense

JG

Agree0 Disagree0

So if it is circa £300k for 1 per cent then just over £15m should buy 51 per cent which would give a controlling stake. We. Then need at least another £10-15m to see us through this season and the following season. I don't see anyone coming in with that kind of cash because their chances of turning a profit for themselves seems slim to none. I assume the RST and King have been in discussions? I am all in favour of fan ownership, but don't we need a serious business professional at the helm of such a project (no offence to anyone involved with the RST). It seems unlikely that collectively we as supporters are otherwise going to be able to agree and organise?
